Sherry:  Very sorry for the loss of your precious Dad.

odie:  Welcome to the tamoxifen world.  I am now on aromasin due to being chemo-induced-into-menopause, so was only on tamoxifen for 3 1/2 years.  Another 3 1/2 to 5 years of aromasin.  Side effects of course vary by each individual.  No one knows what they'll 'get' in those.  Best to you!  ~juli

Sherry - I am so very sorry about your Dad, and I'm so glad you have the family you do!  I know you'll keep us posted about this tumor, please know you're in my thoughts & prayers.  I don't post here much, but I do lurk.

Regarding Tamoxifen - my oncologist took me off it 2 weeks ago due to the severe back pain (read - crying by the end of day) that we're hoping is a side effect.  Unfortunately 2 weeks later it's still here, so off we go for more tests.  Yeah!  I needed more stress!  Since I haven't had a period in nearly a year he put me on Arimidex.  And one side effect I've had on both - no appetite.  I've never had that before in my life!

Sherry - so sorry to hear about your dad but glad you were all together and he was peaceful.  I also have a big family and it really helps in times like these.  We laughed at the funeral home for my brother from the stories we were telling.  I sure people thought we were crazy.  Take care.

Peg funny you should say that about the funeral home as we were all smiles and no sadness as my Dad wouldn't have it any other way.  My in laws and all the relatives from my husbands side were shocked as they expected many many tears.  Trust me when I say we had them, just not in front of people.  We had our own special time before the crowd came in.  Family large or small really helps.....not sure how I could have gone through that without them.....

    Sherry thinking of you!!!!

I just let it all hang out when my dad passed..went into hyper plan mode, sang his favourite song at the funeral and then sat in the pew and wept...it all felt exactly like what i was supposed to do..then we went back to the house as a family and roasted him with ribald stories we weremembered...perfect...they are all different.

Sherry- know that we will be with you. if you were closer physically, I would be there but since I am not, remember that I am riding on your left shoulder whispering calming thoughts in your ear my lovely!

June - how are YOu doing?

thank you all for your love and support.  Bad enough to deal with losing my Dad but to have to worry about another tumor has had me way stressed. I went to see my MO today and he called my BS and after lunch went in and she did a fine needle aspiration biopsy in her office.  And OMG did it hurt.  Last two biopsies I had lidocaine numbing, but with a FNA they cannot do that as it messes up the path report. I should get the results on Friday.  Both MO and BS said it probably was not cancer since I have been on Tamoxifen but you never know and the fact that it is solid that it has to be biopsied to know for sure.  And both said even if it is B9 I have to have surgery to remove it.  BS asked me if it was cancer would I want a lump and radiation again and I said absolutly not.  She knew I had a hard time and figured I would go for MX.  At least I got it all done today and will find something out Friday. BS was reading the MO report and she looked at me and said as bad a SE's as you had I'm supprised you hung in there and kept taking the tamox. I said yes my body has finally adjusted but it was a rough start. My Dad's funeral will be Thursday morning.

Dear Sherry, thanks for sending the obit. It was nice to read about your Dad, who is now real to us. Sounds like a great guy who produced a strong legacy, in his work and family. Love to your Mom and brothers.

What a week! At least you'll have answers re the biopsy by Friday. Sounds like youve also got good, caring docs in your corner. And us in your pockets!

    All the best, Shari

June - doing just fine...quitting my Managerial job has done wonders to my free time and headspace...started arimidex two weeks ago and other than lousy sleep (what else is new) , poor concentration and wonky (low) blood pressure this week, all is going fine...decided yesterday NOT to buy a house, moved out of my office today and have been keeping my nose out of trouble...so all in all a pretty darn full week I think:)

Tink- I understand about how tired you feel...it is why in the end I decided not to buy the little sandee-sized house...1.25 hours of driving each way....to get home....decided I would rather be a half hour walk everywhere instead this winter and am going to stay put...
