Sherry thanks so much for sharing you father with us. I'm glad the sevice was beautiful. Still praying for you!
I remember when sissy was going to have the film and talk at shool so the night before we sat down and I asked her if she had any questions. Well her little bro comes in and wanted to be part of the talk. Well I didnt think it would hurt him because it wasnt gonna involve sex just her body changes.
He was 7 at the time and he was a sponge. I told her how her period was the egg that her body needed to get rid of and so forth. Well we finished and I asked her if she had any questions and she said no. Well my son did and he got this wide eyed look and then goes You mean Sissys gonna lay an egg? It was all I could do to keep a straight face and to tell him that we dont lay eggs like chickens. Poor little guy. I did get a good laugh when I told the hubs about it later.
Well girls this chic is off to dream land. Nightie night and love and kissed to you all!

Hi, Guys, Saturday night already here. Was a relaxing day despite the fact that my 14 yo daughter had fever and a flu type thing. We just hung out together, she was so mellow and sweet. Kind of a fun day (at least for me!)
Sherry, sounds like the ceremony was dignified and what your Dad would have wanted. I'm sorry about the surgery and that you'll have a bit more waiting, but we're here with you. Jo's right that you'll have to wear those big pockets again. Nice that you have a good boss. Possible to fight with the insurance co? Doesn't seem fair.
I got a flu shot when I went to get my pre-surgery blood tests, so hope I can avoid daughter's malaise. Surgery in 10 days. Oh well. Enjoying the last few days with my ovaries...
All the best to you, Ladies,
Shari

Hey my tammy ladies.......
Sherry, so glad your dad had such a good service. That always seems to help knowing that they got what they wanted.......and deserved!

SO sorry about what you are having to go thru......but so thankful you have such a great boss!!!!!
I am not doing so great
I went to have blood work done 9weeks ago and again 3 weeks ago. Well dr. told me Tuesday that my blood work was high 9weeks ago and then even higher 3 weeks ago.l don't know what part of the tests were high. I just know he set me up to have a colonoscopy, EGD, chest CT and an MRI on both breasts. I'm scared.......I don't know what it could be or what it might not be........I am just so confused right now. All the tests will be done in the next two weeks and then I see him again on Nov 15th. Anyone else have this happen?? Was everything ok??? was it not??? I am just so full of questions and fear right now...............

Paula: It all depends on exactly 'what' was high? If you can get copies of your bloodwork, that'll tell you (I call and get copies of all my bloodwork/test results). YOU are entitled to copies of your own health records. I am sending good vibes and ((((HUGS))))) to you that it's something that is flukey. We know how we get when we do NOT have answers, right? The worst part is the waiting....let us know, okay? BEST~~~juli

Paula. ditto...get copies of your blood work...I get allmine from my gp so I can keep track too...just helps ease my mind ....I would also call back and ask specifically what was high...what does high mean? Specifics would likely bring you calm....sending hugs your way
Sherry- oh boy....Hugs are all I can give from this distance ..that and positive thoughts sister....24 hour rule Sherry....you can do one day at a time. You can my dear.

Paula sorry you are having to go through testing, but I am like the others I get copies of all my bloodwork and any imaging done. Good luck and hope all goes well.
Shari good luck on your upcoming ooph
I finally had a mental breakdown today. Went to pick my car up they were replacing a part that had gone bad. I live in a small town and had to have the service work down in the next town 30 miles away. I ran a couple of errands in town and then I was one mile out of town and it would not go past 30-40 miles an hour. Had to call DH to come back and get me and the groceries. Had to leave the car and my key at a store because the auto place was closed by now. So Monday I have to call the car place to go pic it up. Got home and went straight bed and sleep for a couple of hours. Felt much better when I got up. Just too much crap has happened and I was mentally done.

I get the 'mentally done' part.....was doing my best to buy a house in a small town...near a dear friend and her family...an hour commute from my city/job..normally it would not have fazed me..a nhour both ways? no worries..but by the time last weekend came along, I was a bastketcase..could not even decide what to eat for supper.so decided 'no..not going to buy it' and called the woman I had been negotiating with for a month...a MONTH@!! good grief.......too many things happening all at once and all of them major...Sherry...let someone else deal with the car...good for you for going to bed ...no guilt allowed my friend. You are totally within your rights for shut downs!

Sandee I already told DH he was going to make the calls and deal with the car I just could not do anymore. And he was sweet as usual and said no problem he would take care of everything. So I am actually looking forward to going back to work on Monday so I can escape my life. Things should be busy since I was out all last week.
Glad you decided on the house. That would have been terrible to have gone through with it and then decided it was not the right thing to do.

Paula thinking about you.
Well today was a much better day. DB and SIL spent the night last night. He had his class reunion. So lazy morning and breakfast before he went to moms. the rest of the day has been spent doing my Bible study for tomorrow night, ironing and laundry. Have not left the house all day.
Had to quit my tamox on Friday because of surgery. Not sure if that is a blessing or a curse. Kinda nice not to take it but then will I have all the horrible SE's I had when I started taking it in Feb. Guess I will see.

Sherry/Paula my gosh so much going on girls......hugs to you both!! As for the rest of you lovely ladies, hope you are all having a wonderful evening....We got hammered with a huge Nor easter and a large tree fell on my neighbors fence and top of their garage and hubby is working a double, so needless to say clean up has been huge and kids are out of School tomorrow ALREADY!!!!!

Sherry, i am also set to go off of the tamoxifen this thursday in prep for next week's surgery. Will be the first time since Sept 2010 that i will be off of it. I am not sure a week or two wil make much of a difference in terms of SE's. My gyn says it stays in your system for weeks. So maybe it wont be like starting over. I will miss that little pill each night; i think theres a psychological component, like a security blanket even tho i know its all in my head. In any case will e curious to see if the achiness or hot flashes let up at all. Wishing you good thoughts, Sherry. We are there with you.
Paula, you, too. These are just tests. Deep breathing- we will be in your pockets.
June, my family in NJ got hammered. No electricity. Lots of downed trees. Enough with this crazy weather!
All the best, shari0 -
Paula make room for me! Im jumping in girls.

Hi Ladies
Well I have a question..... I just had my period oct 13th a little over 2 weeks ago and now I am bleeding again... has anyone else had this issue while on Tamoxifen. It hasnt even been 3 weeks yet. This is insane!!! Im a little anxious to be honest about it. I do have a call out to my Gyn as a matter of fact I was supposse to have my yearly check up there on Wed.... go figure!

Hi there Tink......that happened to me this year and I thought WTH!!! But I think mine is a combination of pre menopause and the darn pill. I did ask my doc and she said totally normal and not too worry as my pap was fine. So make the phone call if it makes you feel better, but I think it could be our age honey......but I think you are younger than me anyway...., so maybe not! I know I am a lot of help huh? ha ha Kiss kiss my friend!

Oh Tink, remeber how I told you I was months late, well when I did get it last week it was not even for a complete 2 day cycle.....strange ay?

I went into chemopause and stayed there with Tammo's help. I cant be anyhelp Tink, sorry.
I am doing mental cartwheels though, no periods, yahoo!!! Thats the only positive SE that I can say about it.
Have a fun filled afternoon girls!!

okay, embarrassing question...I too went into chemopause 2 weeks into chemo and haven't restarted. hope not to. So sad to find myself in pain when having sex - vaginal dryness. OB/GYN says it happens about 20% of the time with women in menopause. The treatments include estrogen which of course I can't have. Anyone else have this happen and did you find anything that helped. I'm 45 and can't bear the idea of dreading sex due to discomfort.

Thanks Ladies... just your support is helpful to me thank you!. I did call the gyn and she said she wanted me to come in anway and try to see whats going on. I just turned 43 2 weeks ago actually and this is the first time it has happened and my cycles were from 42-50 apart since starting Tam so she says we will try and figure it out. This has never happened to me before so I guess i got a little freaked out.I will keep you posted!
hugs

our bodies are wonderous things hmm? sheesh....starting to get achy bones at night....supposedly means the arimidex is working (according to a study)...here's hoping...no period in site so I can't help with these latest posts...
Greenarch- when I went off tamoxifen, I felt bereft....had not wanted to take it (or the aarimidex) but somehow felt safer...gals here reassured me it stays in your system...just doesn't keep the flow going. You will be fine.
Sherry, Paula---riding high on your shoulders until it is time to jump into your pockets.

Hey Tammi Babes! Haven't posted much lately. Work is just getting so busy and by the time I get home, walk the dogs, make dinner and do the dishes, I don't have much time to read everything and post. Hope everyone is doing well. Hugs to Tink, June, Paula, Sandee and all you other wonderful gals out there.

Sending hugs back Jo....thanks! might be time for an assistant to the assistant manager:)

Sandee - I am the manager and my assistant has not worked a winter season yet so it is continuous training. She is doing well and I have to remember to let her check people in and the other tasks. She is doing well so far. Fortunately, DH can lend a hand if I need it.

bcisnofun-I have had vaginal dryness for years and have used the vaginal gels. They work wonders. Just try different ones until you find the one you like.

Hi, Guys,
Tink, youre smart to check it out. My new policy after years of ignoring everything is to just get things checked out so i dont worry. I had a hysterectomy in 2008 at age 47 so periods stopped (that part didnt take much getting used to) but before that my periods had started to get quite irregular. Sometimes every nineteen days.
Bcisnofun (like your name...i agree) you should discuss this with your gyn. I didnt have this problem but my cousin (2x survivor) did. Gyn had some ideas for her though i dont remember what. Would KY jelly help?
Thought i wouldnt, but getting jumpy about this ooph. This is my third general anaesthesia surgery since 2008. Will have lost uterus, cervix, one breast and now ovaries. While i think i will ultimately be releived to have these ovaries out (though BRCA neg i have 7 cousins on my maternal grandmothers side w BC and the current thinking is that there may be a gene that just hasnt been discovered yet) I am feeling weepy about losing so many of these parts. I get it; hopefully this is saving my life, but still sometimes sad for the loss. Like sad that it all happened. Most of the time i am busy and ok, grateful to be alive and just living my life. But i guess this new op is bringing this all up again. Sorry to be such a monumental downer! Thanks for listening.
Sherry, with you on thurs. you, too, Paula.
Best wishes, shari0 -
I have worked thru the vaginal dryness, well my body took care of that. I dont know if it was a timing thing or missing the most is the big O you have with nipple stimulation. I still have them, just not the ones that take your breath away. Plus it takes longer to get there it seems like. I remember the day where a wham bam thank you mam was all it took to get there. Sometimes thats all I want is a quicky and now its like whats the point in that. Its not that I dont want to get with the hubs because I do. He is the love of my life. Its just I miss certain things about it.
Tink I hope they get you squared away. A call to get checked out is not a bad idea. I was never one to go to or call the doctor much until the BC came in the picture. Now its more of a be aware of things.
Take care my Tammo sissys and have a fab day!!!
Hug to you both Sherry and Paula!
