In 7 days my daughter will be on a plane to come for a visit.  I cant wait.  Tink flap your wings like crazy so time will fly by, lol.  I cant wait.  I miss her badly. Im hoping that we can talk her into staying home.

Have a great day all!  My bro is coming up for a visit.  It'll be a good time.  Havent seen him since Easter and thats too long.

Hi, Paula. My surgery is Thursday, thanks. Its nice to know that youre thinking about me. I am trying not to be nervous, especially since this surgery is more preventative than reactive. First time Ive scheduled surgery not in a total panic. But i am having trouble sleeping and concentrating. Just want to get past it. Thanks. Enjoy having your daughter with you. Our oldest son is far away, travelling now, and i miss him like crazy, so I understand.

Nbelvile, welcome! You might want to search the hormone therapy threads for Femara topics. There are lots of postings by Ladies who are taking it. I think most of us here on bottle o tamoxifen are mostly still on tamoxifen. But here for you in general. Sorry I dont know about Femara.

nbelville - Welcome to the Tammi Train.  Sorry you have to be on this ride with us.  Sherry  is correct.  I did take Femara and was on it a week before I called my MO and said enough.  I had terrible nausea along with so many aches and pains I could not sleep and could not eat.   All in a week's time.  That was after 3 weeks of Arimidex and had the same issues.  I have been on Tamoxifen since Jan 5th and the side effects are very minimal.  In fact, since I have been on Tamox, my hot flashes are just fllushes.  I had some hair thinning but on the advice of all these wonderful ladies, I started taking Biotin 5000 mcg and my hair is growing back.  Perhaps a talk with your MO is in order.  Like my MO told me at one time, "No one should live in pain."  That is something he does make sure of.

June, Tink, Paula and all you wonderful Tammi Ladies - Hope you all had a good weekend.

    XOXOXOXOXOXO

Hey girls I am going to share some sad news regarding Swanseagrl/Jules/Julie Day on FB.  She is in Wales, Uk right now to spend some time with family and friends.  She has been having problems with her ribs fracturing and then they found a spot on her lung, well it turned out that she had another fractured rib which flared some red flags and bottom line is she had cat/pet scan and showed mets.  They are trying to determine if she is still er/pr + or if it has changed.  She wont be back until mid November at which time she will have numerous test, preop/surgery/bone biopsy/possible rads and maybe the ovaries out.  So needless to say our dear friend has a lot on her plate and I know a lot of us women communicate with her on FB, but for the ladies who are not on FB, I just wanted you all to know that she loves each and every one of you and there are some people who know and some who don't.  So on FB, I would tend to keep in on the quieter side.  She does check her FB, if you gals want to message her.  I hate to be the bearer of bad news but she said it was ok for me tell you all and I know how much she means to you all......love you ladies and hope your weekend was lovely.

It's so hard when love is ended.  My Mom does have Alzheimers, but she is so lonely without my Dad and forever is crying and just wanting to be with him.  For my Mom, my Dad was her everything as she stayed at home to raise her 9 kids and it was my father who was the social bee.....not her.  Even with time it does not get easier, my heart aches every time I see her and sometimes I know this sounds horrible, but I would rather not go there as it puts me in such a funk.

My BFF lost her Mom a year ago today and it was especially hard for her leading up to today.  Life is forever a lesson of strength and how much we can take.

Im hoping to hear great news Sherry and we will all be waiting.

June that is so true My dad has been gone for 3 years and my parents were married for 57 years and my mom cannot get past it. She cries all the time for him and at her worst will say I just want to be with your dad. It is heartbreaking like a part of them has died too!.. so sad

    Hi, All,

I'm a bit newer to this group, (though now i dont know what I'd do without you; youve become my official support group) so I dont know swansea/jules that well, but June, if you speak w her on FB, send her our goid wishes. I dont know her full med story but there is a woman here who is living a full life...with bone mets. Its been years. She does get treatment, but its become more of a chronic disease for her. I think there are more and more like her. Im not minimizing the terror jules must be feeling now, but just hope she knows there are some hopeful stories, even in later stages. I guess i would just want to give her a hug and that message of hope. Will keep her in my prayers, too.

SherryC glad you went to a movie! What did you see?

Question: anyone know what to do about intermittent constipation. Sometimes it gets so bad and i dont think i can stand to eat any more fiber! Is this tamoxifen or menopause? Yuk.

    Thanks! Shari

MamaV-funny you should ask about liver enzymes. Mine have been slightly elevated as well but went off the chart when I got sick this last time with the Mono. They got so high that I was officially diagnosed with Hepatitis A. Will get redrawn this week. Never really crossed my mind that it could be the Tammy, thought it was left over from the chemo.

Sherryc-sending gentle hugs and praying for B9 rsults.

June-thanks for the info about Jules. Not on FB, but do send her our love and support. I can't imagine how terrifying this must be for her, but I do know that there are alot of woment who deal with the mets as a chronic condition and not as a terminal condition. I also know what you say about life lessons, they can open your world and mind up to so much, but damn I think I'm done with life lessons for awhile.

Shari-try taking Philips Colon health OTC med. It seems to help keep the constipation at bay.

MamaV, dawn reminded me of something. I've had slightly elevated liver enzymes for a few years now. No one makes too big a deal over it since the elevation is so slight. But when I went to get pre testing for something they insisted on doing a liver scan (fun, not...) which showed a clean liver, but discovered gall stones! Which can be caused by...high estrogen levels. They told me as long as they don't cause symptoms they don't treat them and I never would have known I had them without the scan, so we are doing nothing. But just wanted to let you know that it seems like lots of things can cause elevated liver enzymes. By all means, check it out w your dr, but know that it's not automatically something serious.

Shari I know that you said that you just cant eat anymore fiber but try popcorn.  It works like a charm.  I have it as an evening snack and by morning its doing its thing.  I like it better then anything.  It doesnt leave you running to the potty like crazy but it does give ya that cleaning out.

Love to all my Tammi girls as you go about your day!

Ladies I have been off of tammi for 9 days leading up to my surgery.  Took it last night for the first time and I could not sleep worth a darn and had continuous hot flashes all night and they have continued on this morning.  I was really hoping that I had not been off of it long enough to make a difference in SE's.  At least I am not neaseated.

sgreenarch and survivor  - Thanks!  We all know that the big C will always be our first reaction to any abnormal test.  I had another enzyme test on Saturday morning - this time a fasting test.  No results yet ... I'll keep you posted.  Going off tammy soon anyway b/c I am now officially post menopausal ...  more info when I get it.
