Good morning ladies ...and a good morning it is! I just finished reading the paper (online) and my campaigning has paid off!! Smile

By a vote of 4,138 to 2,750, residents approved a liquor referendum during Tuesday's election.

This marked the fourth time that voters in this Quaker town were asked to approve alcohol sales in the municipality since the ban was instituted in 1915.

The vote opens the door to alcohol sales for the first time in town since before Prohibition.  Voters rejected liquor referendums in 1935, 1953 and most recently in 2007.

I am going to get off my laptop and do a widdle house work before I sailabrate. But dwinks are on me today (and no, not literally) hehehe.

Thank you all for your love and support. Today is a new day! CheerZ!!!

Thanks Bernie, and good deal DorK. Glad you will be able to purchase your liquid libations!

Ok, on the foil story. I just hope I have it right!

We had a friend on here she had her avatar as computer pieces, or something like that. It was of a face, and on occasion she would add little things to it, hair, lips, etc. Well one day she put on a tin foil hat and shortly after that, Junie was in the doctors office and saw a foil ball in a plant and just lost it, right there in the waiting room. So, since then, we have just had fun with FOIL. Several gals saw foil in some form or another shortly after Junie's passing, so we just know it was her. I have a little foil doll I made and have it with 2 Miller Lite cans in memory for our sweet Junie and Kathy ever brought me a foil ball when we met up in Nashville. So, it's just something we have fun with.

Let me know if I have that right girls!

You girls are great! Thanks for the tin foil info, I was wondering, great story! Just a quick check-in. Got my drain tubes out today (Yippee!!) and everything seems to be hunky dorie for now. He kept telling me to not overdo it, gave me some boob squeezing exercises, and I go back Monday! If only I had sensation in the fake boobs, lol. Oh well, they look good, moving forward! Going to a meeting at 4 with a group of BC survivors, put together by my psychologist. Don't really know what to expect, will let you know how it goes! Toodles!

Hi girlzzzz, Just read a couple of posts here, as have such limited time! Lori, That foil story sounds about right! I sorta remember HunkyD as also having the foil look like "antennas" for some reason? Is that right too, or am I toooooo far out there?

Will have to catch up on pages and pages and pages when we get back! Every day is an entire days tour....b'fast early, then on the road. Seeing so many amazing things, and our tour guide talks nonstop almost the entire time. He knows ALL the history of Ireland and can reel off all the dates, names, etc without missing a beat. HOWEVER after so many hours, I "zone out" and do not hear everything! So today after retuning from our tour we had to get a taxi (in the rain) to a dr who had to drain fluid from my toenail...yup, he went THRU the nail, and it didn't hurt at all. Having probs with retaining fluid UNDER my toenails and they turn black....VERY painful, and was afraid it would be blood clots or something, so wearing flipflops (well sandals actually),  even though its cold. This is a beautiful country, SO much history and beautiful sights. We saw 7 rainbows today, within an hour, and one was a double one! Took already almost 500 pics. BUT with the bus being So bumpy sometimes (esp on the Ring of Kerry), I figure half the pics might be blurry, so might as well take tons. Today is our 14th wedding anniversary, but after getting back from the dr late, did not get to cool the champagne. Guess we'll have it tomorrow. Wow, just 2 more full days of touring, and then fly back home. This group is awesome.....one couple from my city, and they, as well as the others are all so friendly. OH gotta tell you this, the dr today DID NOT believe my age, he said "You sure don't look it". OK, that was worth the visit...LOL.

OK, no jealousy here, BUT hoping, and crossing fingers and toes (well not toes cause they are too painful), that maybe I might meet Jaybird in NY! Can you believe that??? That would be so cool, too!!!!

I promise to catchup when I get home....but will take days to read back on a weeks worth of posts here! HOPING you are all well, did not get to read back further than a few posts. Luv you girls,Kathy

Oops...forgot this....can sure use prayers for my Aunt Nita (Juanita), my Dad's sister who is 96. She broke her hip and had surgery a few hrs ago. Apparently she did not come out of anesthesia (they said it was like a coma), so was under an extra 4 hrs. PLEASE pray for her if you will, as with her age and having surgery, it has us all worried. She was RAKING LEAVES when she fell! Thank you, I know you girls will send up some good prayers!!!

Wahine.....96 and raking leaves...I sure hope your aunt is up and around well enough to rake leaves again (but not raking)... Your trip sounds wonderful....The first time we went to Israel, I video taped all the tours because I knew it was too much info for me to absorb....but of course, I have not watched the tapes in the 4+ years since the first trip....going on the same tours a 2nd time has helped retain info!!!!

Mrs. Vino.....love your new avatar.....the only sensation I have in my foobs is itchy!!!!! some days I feel like I could claw my skin off....wonder if its the implants or something else.....not really worried...just annoying

Hubby is grilling steak tonight....so all I have to do is make the salad and baked potatoes....we don't eat meat often, but he's in the mood....these are marinated steaks my DD and SIL brought last month.....of course DS is thrilled.....

Talked to Mom yesterday....the denial is unbelievable....when maybe its just coping....Dad has had a good few days, so Mom is not looking down the road...I'm not really sure what to do....I haven't had time to make any phone calls since I was there...but finally have time to myself tomorrow....first time I have my Th and F to myself since late Sept.....I am looking forward to having time to clean the house!!!!  I have appt with my therapist (not sure why I'm going) first thing in the morning....then the rest of the day is mine!!!! need to get my hair cut, clean, run a couple errands and bake cookies...the freezer is bare...poor old mother hubbard is empty!!!!  Also need to get a flu shot....got mine earlier last year....

    BBL.....

May God look after her and help her heal quickly. Hey, when will you be in NY? Road trip for the DorK?

Bernie, I hope you are feelings better and better each day. It sux dat you had such a rough road.

Karen, I tink i am coming to your house tonight for a steak dinner. ]yummmy.

sawrie Claire but I don't eat brats. Me tinks of gound up people. And i prefer cookies for dessert, I'd have to pass on the clotted cream, does not sound appetizing.

Allison, congrats on losing the drains. Sorry about the numbness but you will get used to it. And listen to your PS. Lori had great advise in teaching your DD to do the laundry. I am sorry that I did not teach my DD to do it much sooner.

Beanie, great post today. Dork is imprewessed dat you found such great foil pics. And me tinks your avatar shows foil? love it. so nice to see you.

Lori, thanks for updating MRs Vino on the foil ting. I also miss hsonkey dory. I always thought that the beautiful hair on the avatar pic was hers, she must have added the hair to the 'computer part" face after I joined.  I also enjoyed how she would change up her face. I remember her adding the crooked smile, then had her tongue sticking out and of course, de foil. Do you speak with her? I miss her a lot.

Hello to Mema Sue, Juliet and Cindy. Look foward to getting to know you gals better.

Kymn, I am going to have a seat on my twin pink leopard bar stool. I hope you will join me.

NM, are you alright? I miss you today.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Well I need to get back to me fire. It is a beautiful evening here. DH and I am having a fire while working on leaves.  I will be back soon, hope to see many loungettes parTAYin in de lounge.

    Sorry DorK......I tried.

I think probably too much wine, but did anyone else think "lamp shades" in looking at the Country Music Awards attire.  All that fringe, and that was all I could think of!!!

Networking meeting was a bust.  I should have known that anyone who couldn't set a firm time to meet for coffee a day or 2 in advance was a flake.   Honestly.  I need to warn my friend.  Suspect he won't deliver the programming he has committed to.

(Got a good Indian meal out of it though.)

The most glorious late afternoon.  Walked off the above before back to work with my no longer former/once again business partner.  I think we have some more work coming up.  YAY!!!

This is a low-hanging fruit that I want to snag.  As opposed to the above which is just "a fruit".

I have been to Ireland in October and was heavenly.  Drove through the Ring of Kerry.  Memorable.  I particularly remember a Stonehenge-type ring of stones.

Dinner awaits so signing off. - Claire

Wow, cant catch up but wanted to say hi...

Beans - LOVE your avatar, but...bed bugz iz gud no? My WD is a bed bug. DH says WD sucked all the romance out of our bed... funny that a 10# dog could do that.

Allison - YAY! I hate those darn drains... I've had them 4 times for bc and twice for tummy cah-cah.

    I'm working late... really late.

All in all it has been a weird day... I had jury duty and pleaded hardship because it was a 5-week murder trial and I am self employed which means not only do I have no income for 5 weeks but I lose all my clients and have to go rob a bank or something. The judge made me feel really guilty though... and I didn't actually rob a bank... not that it's that hard to make me feel guilty. And we had to fill out this detailed questionnaire about all the crap that has happened in our lives and I realized that although I have a fairly normal life, it doesn't look so good on paper. Don't think they would have wanted me in a criminal trial of this nature anyway... DH said I should play the cancer card. Funny, I didn't even know he knew I had cancer.

Good morning, Loungettes! Been busy the last coupla days, but got some time to play on the computer this am, so going to get caught up, if I can!

DorK-Been beautiful, here, too, but today it switches over to rain and maybe some snowflakes in the mix. Sigh. Summer had to leave eventually, I suppose. I can relate to being mad at a doc, too. Not going to slash tires, but going to find every doc rating site on the internet I can find and start posting my very honest (and very negative) opinion of him!

Bernie-pounding on wood wherever I see it for you!

Claire-Business simplification, huh? That sounds like something I could get into. Maybe I should tuck that away in case I ever need a second career!

Karen-poor DD, so hard to learn that you don't always get what you want out of life. I know it's hard on you, too. Maybe this is a good time to play the cancer card?

Tiedye-I second Scuba. The BRCA testing takes at least 3 weeks, so the doc wants to get it started sooner rather than later. And showing up in person to make an appointment is a GREAT idea, and be sure to tell them WHY you are doing that! And complain to the Onc when you meet him/her.

Scuba-I'm one of the crew that checks in from time to time through the day, just don't stay long enough to post after guzzling a virtual dwinkie!

Goldie-I would love to share that $3K with you, right now I'm trying to decide which debt to throw that against. And trying to avoid the temptation of splurging with it! And you got the foil story JUST RIGHT! Thanks!

MemaSue-we do take care of each other in here! Glad you liked the safety chair!

Mrs. Vino-HOORAY for NO MORE DRAINS!!!!!!!!!!

Wahine-the doc's comment about your age was worth the hassle of the pain and the visit! Good for you! I'm sure you Aunt Nita will be ok, older folks often take longer to wake up from anesthesia, and if she was in good enough shape to rake leaves before she will be fine when she recovers!

Good morning, LORD, it's me again. I talking to you about Wahine's Aunt Nita, who fell while raking leaves and broke her hip. YOU must have been concerned that she's been working too hard since YOU saw fit to make sure she got an extra few hours sleep after surgery. YOU do remember how much something like that scares her family, though, right? Of course YOU do, sorry for suggesting otherwise. I'd take it as a personal favor if YOU would take extra good care of Aunt Nita while she recovers. Vital people in their 90's are a treasure to us down here and we get terribly attached to them. Well, that's it for now, talk to YOU again later.

Karen-Denial is a very hard nut to crack, and I firmly believe that there is no way an adult child can make a parent see the truth of a situation. Parents simply will not listen to their kids on certain subjects and health care is one of them. Just keep feeding your Mom information, and know that at some point you Dad will end up in the ER or the hospital and that's when you can talk to the discharge planner and make a difference. In the meantime, try not to tie yourself up in knots about the whole thing. A doctor I used to work with often said that when the staff is working harder than the patient to make the patient better the battle's already lost. You're working way harder than your Mom. You cannot change her point of view. Just keep giving her information and then dropping the subject. That's all you can do.

AStorm-I was on jury duty once, but it wasn't for any where near as long as 5 weeks! I have since learned that there are ways to fill out the questionnaire that pretty much ensure you will not get chosen for the jury-I'll try to remember some of them if I can. Being a nurse, I can get my employer to say I can't be spared from work (hmm, wonder if that would still work now that I'm working weekends?) but that's not an option for you. Don't feel guilty, no one can do everything all the time!

Princess Glitter Sizzle says the DOTD is De Nile
    1 1/2 oz Gin
    1/2 oz Green Chartreuse
    1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse

    Directions
In a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes, combine all of the ingredients. Stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass.

Vino, congrats on not having those cheatin Pratt bros. around long, you are smart cookie. Maybe DH can help with those exercises , but if so, we don't want to hear about it.....lol! Do hope you enjoy your meeting, but know that those gals couldn't possibly be as much fun as us!

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about the toe, but glad it is doing better and like you said, worth the trip after the docs comment! But you DON'T look your age.........AT ALL. Happy Anniversary to you and DH.........we be jamming for ya's both! And now you might get to meet Jaybird...............gheesh, I am so jealous of all the gals you are meeting, that is so AWESOME..............just don't forget your camera! Oh shoot, just read about Aunt Nita, sending prayers your way Kathy, for you and your family. I'm so sorry, the poor dear, that had to hurt something terrible.

Karen, hoping you get your "ME" time. Sorry you are not getting anywhere with your parents, must be frustrating. But there is only so much you can do. I hope your mom will come to her senses soon. But in the mean time, you have to stop beating yourself up over it.

Awwww Scuby, love your idea of getting a ML for the road in Junies honor. She would love it! Love your new accy DMe.

OOOO MMMM GGGG DorK, you think you might get to go and meet Kathy and Jaybird? Now that is something I am gonna pray for! I hear from HD on occasion, I miss her too. She also had either a nose ring or a tongue ring at one time too. And she was the best at photo shopping pictures for the da lounge.

Hey Bernie..........how are you feeling? Are those burns showing any sign of healing? I was given a cream that they use on burn victims, Silvidine. Have they given you anything?

Well Astorm, did you get out of Jury Duty? Sorry you were offended by your DH's comment.  They just don't get it. I wish every man, for just one day, could experience some of the things we have had to, and not just with the RB (rat bastard) but life in general. Delivering a baby, being pregnant, having a period, and the cramps that go with it and the mood swings, go through chemo, lose their penis and their hair, be burned with 3rd degree burns in their groin, etc. You catch my drift!

Good morning NM. I do like you sometimes too, checking in with just time to read and down a dwink or two! Awwww, I know you would shard some of you Moooo la wit me, but I just couldn't do that, you are a dear. Love all the cartoons, and me tinks I will have LOTS of De Nile today, especially since it's Thirsty Thursday!

I am grabbing my drinks and heading for da pewl, then a massage, then off to the docs for my well woman check up and PAPST! He he.............I hate this time of year............oh ya, another thing that I wish men could endure.

    Good morning loungettes,

NM, I missed you yesterday and was worried something was wrong. Was glad to wake up to a post from you.  Yours posts are so incrediby awesome. I love how you pray, you are adorable. Your words to Karen were great and I am going to take your advise to her with me to Myrtle Beach when I visit my folks for thanksgiving. I have to just let go and let God. Loved the shake, rattle and roll cartoon.  I would be happy to help you bring down that a$$hole doctor of yours via internet ratings. I mention the PS that hacked me up to every doctor I see. Funny, he is known as a great PS but the ratings are coming from cash clients paying for tummy tucks, boob enhancements, botox etc etc. He has zero time for cancer patients and I have made that known. I may just go back and find more sights to bring down his ratings.

Gail, my DH will not get in bed with me unless the sheets are washed. He thinks that it is so gross that I bring my dogs to bed. I know it hurts his ego when i do not want to sleep in the same bed with him. But he is a bed hog and also saws wood in his sleep. Sorry that you were made to feel guilty with getting out of jury duty.

Lori, so nice to have you back. I was laughing at what you said about having the men in our lives go through life as a BC patient, giving birth, having periods, balls burned etc for a day. OMG, I do not think any male could make it through a day in our shoes.

Karen, it is "Karen Dey", good for you. I hope you find time to just relax once you get your errands done and the dust bunnies outta de house. And again, time to stop beating your head against the wall with your parents. My Dad keeps changing his mind and it is causing a lot of heart ache for me and my sisters too.

Allison, hoping you are resting. I know you must be elated to have the reconstruction behind you. I hope your group meeting went well and was worth your time.

Beanie, can't say enuff how happy I am to have you back in de lounge. We are here for you.

Kathy, still praying for Aunt Nina. still smiling over NM's sweet prayer. Hope your toe is not hurting too much. Sorry about your toe but if you lose the toe nail, now would be the time since your tootsies will be in hibernation for the winter. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time.

Bernie, I am still praying for quick healing for you. I've said it before but will say it again - Onward and Upward!

Missing Chrissy B in da lounge, hoping she stops in for a Denile cockeytail.

It is a gloomy day here but that is alright. We had the most beautiful two days this week and I finally made it outdoors last night to enjoy some fresh air.  I did a little one arm raking and it was so nice to break a sweat!

I am working with a counselor via telephone and had my first 45 minute session yesterday.  When asked what I do to keep sane, the only thing I could think of was you gals. I told the counselor about the HTL and how I have such a great time while getting emotional support at the same time. I told her that you girls were my life line. We set some goals in my "therapy" and she will contact me again next Wednesday for another session. This service is free and brought to me by my insurance company.

Well i am going to take a stroll into the htl chapel, then hit the hammock and let Pants help me with my PT while I down some more de nile dwinkies. I then have to call my insurance company to find out what is going on with the PT coverage. I am being told that I have to pay 20% and am hoping they are wrong. PT is quite pricey but i would really love to start working on my bursistis or as i call it, my trick leg. I hate that i can not stand for more that two minutes at a time and hope that this can be corrected. The cortisone shot helped but is only a temp fix.

I hope all you girls have a great thirst-dey. Peace and love to all of you gals.

Tits up, bottomz up, CheerZ DearZ and no FearZ!!

Morning girls! DorK, so glad you are getting some therapy. I agree, you girls on here are what get me through this, for sure! Meeting was well, just four of us and the doctor, one girl only 26 when diagnosed! Girl diagnosed at 35 with ovarian cancer, she was engaged and had a thriving art museum downtown with fiance. Rat Bastard left her after she was diagnosed with rat bastard! She lost art museum, everything! So sad! And 26 year old was going through fertility trying to have a baby when she was diagnosed. So sad! All three women were diagnosed two years ago, none of which had heard of breastcancer.org discussion boards! I told them you ladies are what gets me through! They are going to check it out. The group was put together by the psychiatrist I've been seeing, so she can go over all of our medications and write scripts, etc, during meeting. It's great, as I will no longer see her on my own, but during group with these ladies. Have to tell you that I have been on 150mg of Effexor since diagnosis, and cut back to 75mg a month ago. My hot flashes/night sweats have nearly vanished! Psychiatrist said that at the 150mg dose, some women's hot flashes/night sweats increase, but not many. Go figure, I was one of the "lucky" ones! Just glad we figured it out. Going to try to taper it off altogether next month. We meet again on Nov. 30th.

Kathy, so glad you are having so much fun, but that whole toe thing makes me want to throw up! OUCH!! Get the heebie geebies just thinking about it!! Will say a prayer for your dear Aunt, but NM is right. She's gonna be fine! My GG Bessie lived to 102 on her own! She jumped rope up until she was about 92 or 93! Drove to the grocery, etc. Amazing!

O.K., gotta go now. Going to the Dr. with my girlfriend who just had back surgery. She fell on a slick floor 2 weeks later, and shoulder popped out of socket, plus other damage. Her name is Teri, and she has been in incredible pain. Please say a prayer for her! She will be having an MRI with contrast on her shoulder today.

Also, I'm working on a project. If each of you could help me by sending me a PM of where you live, city, state, country, I would soooo appreciate it! Don't want to leave anyone out, so if there are girls who haven't visited in a while, but you know their info, let me know! Please put your username with your real name as well. Thanks! You guys are gonna love this!

Have yourselves a great day! I will check back in later! Cheers My Dears!!

Hi everyone.  Rest and relaxation is the order of the day.  Nasty burn, can't do housework - Oh Dear.

Did you know that Red Wine is an excellent painkiller.  After a couple of glasses - no pain.  Brilliant.  DH said i'm not allowed it for breakfast which i feel is just a little bit mean.

Can't wait for Kathy to get back and then we can discuss - "The Luck of the Irish"  I want to know if she kissed the Blarney stone - she said she wasn't going to.

Bernie, Maybe I 'might" have kissed old Blarney if it had been drenched in wine, or if I had a lot of wine beforehand...LOL. Not only didn't want to kiss that nasty stone, but didn't want to get in that .position, with my bad back.....DH did it, and I took pics, and we bought the pic they took, too. Hoping you finished rads on Tues.....have not had time to read back on posts, but hoping you are DONE! And that the burns will heal quickly!!!! Our tour guide talks nonstop and I am writing down so many words that he pronounces differently than I would.....one thing, he says "Ar-Land", whereas I say "Ire-land". Is "ar-land" how it should be pronounced here? I know in "New Orleans", they say "N'awlins", so was just wondering. He is quite a character!

Thanks everyone for your prayers for my Aunt Nita. And NM, that was an awesome prayer, thank you! She is doing well....they put in a titanium rod, and it was the top of her leg and not her hip as I was first told. She has been walking, and not sure if she might have even gone home today, or will soon. Amazing.

I know I will have to spend several days reading back on what you all have been doing, and how everyone is. I hate not being able to keep up with you all, but have been keeping you in my thoughts! Will be back in Dublin tomorrow, and am glad it won't be another full day on the bus! I have taken sooo many pictures, over 600....but will have to edit a lot, as I know a lot will be blurry, since lots are taken on the fast moving bus! The people in the group we are with are so awesome, very caring, nice people, and we all have a good time together.WHile here,  I have had so many pints of Bulmers Cider, Smithwicks, Harp, plus wine, bourbon.....ummmmmm did I miss anything??? You all stay partying and stay dwunk and stay happy. Did Lisa say that Pants was going to jump out of the cake, sans pants????  Anyone have a camera handy???

    Hugsssssss, Kathy

Going to put on my Jammie's now, wash my face, and snuggle up on the couch with my iPad and some Vino! Catcha later!!

Well since all my taddies left me, I found a new place to dwell; it's down at the end of lonely street called, heartbreak hotel

You're makin me so lonely baby, I get so lonely, I get so lonely, I could die

And though it's always crowded, you still can find some room, where broken hearted lovers do cry, away their gloom...

I'm feelin so lonely babies, jus feelin so lonely, I'm feelin so lonely I could die!!!!
