Survivor - it took me ages to figure out how to post a photo.
It needs to be hosted somewhere online like Facebook or Photobucket. I signed up to Photobucket and upload photos there. I then just right click on them and copy. Then I right click and paste here.
I was initially hesitant about putting photos on Photobucket but you can make them totally Private so that no one at all can access them.
I hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for liking my hair
. Flwarrior and MamaV, I "create" the bangs with lots of hair gel, otherwise they stick up and are so thick, curly and bushy. And washing every day does not help, makes them more dry. Tried straightener, but it's not sleeking it down. So have to go like this till they get longer. But so happy I have hair again and will never complain of a bad hair day again!!!!! Good luck to those who are still going through. Love,
Karina

Kiwimum - looking great!
Mine is still not long enough to figure out whether it's going to curl or be straight. It's still wanting to grow to a spike in the middle of my head, though...lol. My eyelashes and eyebrows are growing pretty fast. I've got just enough for mascara now, I'll be 8 weeks PFC tomorrow.

Just checking in and I am so impressed with all the hair growing!! Everyone looks so beautiful. I finally ditched the wig at 20 weeks PFC. The first few days were difficult but now I am OK with it. It's cold, but I'd rather have a chilled head than wear that wig another day...
Happy Thanksgiving to all you beautiful and supportive ladies.

Hi all,
Question. I have had my 3rd treatment with hercpetin & taxol, # 4 on Friday. I have cut my hair short, but yesterday it began falling out a few strands at a time. Today the same. My onc said maybe it would all fall out or maybe jsut thin. Others experience with this, how soon should I get myself to a wig shop or at a minimum buy a hat. I have bad hat karma from an early age and very seldom wear one even heere inthe miserable cold Northeast. Managing pretty well with other SE, so if this is the worst of it for now, I am good
Thanks
Nel

so you have had 3 Taxol and not lost your hair yet??

Nel, I did not have the same chemo as you but my hair also fell out gradually over several weeks. I needed a wig after about two weeks. I think you are likely to need a head covering so if I were you I would at least start shopping. It's best to be prepared.

I didn't do taxol, but I lost my hair 10 days after first chemo

3 days after mastectomy
3 wks after mastectomy and 1wk before chemo-got it cut.
3 wks after first chemo. Told boys they could paint my head when my hair fell out-I painted their faces. My head blends in with their shower curtain.
2 days after last chemo. I just woke up a day earlier with the black eye-no idea why.
8 wks PFC.
11 wks PFC
14 wks PFC

15 wks PFCSo there it is, the time frame.
So I was thinking it was going to be straight to wavy at first, but tonight I noticed the back is starting to stick out and the hair on the top of my head is starting to look like what one of you call "a well loved teddy bear"-ugh!

Survivor Your hair looks great, it will be back in full before you know it. I love your shower curtain yay to spongebob!
Nel I was on TCH and never lost my hair until after my third treatment, everyone was shocked that it lasted so long. Felt very blessed that I got half way through and still had hair, then it fell out in clumps, but I never shaved it, and I kept some fuzz throughout.
Everyone looks so awesome....I like the pics just to connect with you guys.

Dragonfly1- Most eyebrows don't actually last long enough to be affected by the sagging of the face, which occurs over decades. The ink will fade over time- cosmetic tattooing is permanent in that it doesn't wash off, but will fade. So long before the forehead skin has sagged, there will likely be no tattoo ink (unless it was done with body ink, a no-no, or it was redone later in life, but then it would be put where you wanted it).
Also, if the tattoo was done along the brow line and there is some ink still there in 20 years, the ink will be where the brow hair would have been anyway. That is to say, even if there isn't a tattoo, the eyebrows are a bit lower over the eyes as time goes by and any tattoo will just follow this natural progression. This is why many women who lose brows do to age, ask to have them tattooed a bit higher than they would have naturally been.
I recommend very light brow tattooing for women pre-treatment (chemo etc) so it will be there when the hair is lost, but not noticeable when hair grows back, and eventually it will fade to nothing or almost nothing. And if hair doesn't grow back, there is a nice template of what the brows looked like before to follow. The biggest issue is the color may fade over the years to a slightly different tone, but this is easily fixed.
Any brow tattooing should have very delicate hair strokes and very light powdering so it is subtle and natural looking. If done well, it will look like brows and be an easy template to follow to pencil darker brows if a client wants.
Good Luck!

Nel, my hair fall pattern was similar to yours. Be warned the amount of fall is likely to increase in the coming days. If you choose not to shave it, get a hair net to contain the hairs as they fall. This prevents hair going everywhere. I wore a hair net even when washing my hair (gently) and only combed with a wide tooth comb once a day. I learnt though that there is nothing you can do to prevent a hair falling out once it decides to let go.
I did keep some hair throughout chemo but probably only 5%.0 -
and if you color treat your hair and have some dark and some gray hair there is nothing you can wear that won't show the hair!
I had some gray roots that I didn't bother to touch up since it was going to fall out anyway so my hair was 2 colors.

I love all of the pictures! You all look great! I am 4 weeks pfc and am still very bald, I do have some stubble that I can feel on top, but the sides are smooth like a babies butt! No stubble whatsoever. I thought I would have a 5 o'clock shadow by now

I found one of those masking tape lint rollers to be perfect for picking up the loose hairs when my hair was falling out. I even ran it across my scalp - worked like a charm.
