MamaV I ditched the wig 3 weeks ago, but today it was cold outside and I froze all day!  Mostly I think because my neck was cold.  So I think I am gonna go buy a scarf for my neck on days like today.  When I got home, I put my sweats on and a beanie.  Cant wait to see your pic!

I am 1 1/2 yrs. PFC and my avatar shows my hair growth.  It came in extremely curly, but now it is straightening out.  The ends still curl and when it is humid my hair gets frizzy.

This link should show you three pictures of me.  One with straight hair before I was diagnosed.  Another with short curly hair as it was growing in post chemo, and one with longer hair (my current avatar) which was taken yesterday.  I hope it works as I have tired unsuccessfully to post pictures here.

Rocket, I couldn't view your Facebook link but your hair in your avatar looks gorgeous.

KS, your hair is not curly?

Here's a photo after my hair began to grow back following chemo.

Here's how I look today a year and a half PFC.

This was me after I had just finished chemo and was anxiously waiting for hair to grow.  I also accidentally posted this picture to Facebook as I was experimenting with uploading pictures.  I had no sooner posted it when I began to get comments.  I didn't feel like I could take it down after that, so i learned to accept the situation.  Embarassed

    Rocket you look great!

I did the same thing when doing my pics, so I too just left it.

My hair is starting to curl, trying its best.

Cath, it will grow, I promise. Hang in there!

KS, you can tell it's going to curl if it starts growing in different directions all over your head.

Oh that explains my hair going every which way!  I was somewhat curly pre-chemo...this should be interesting!

    You ladies look great!!!

My hair is crazy.  It is straight on the sides and top, but curling in the back.  The top is the longest, so I guess the fastest growing.  The part that will hopefully someday be bangs is the SLOWEST growing. (wwaahhhh...)

I experimented with a darker "color" a while back...ahhh uhh not so crazy about it.  Last week I tried changing the color to a lighter color that matches my wig (which I do like).  For some crazy reason it did not take and my hair is no lighter in color...sigh  Guess I will wait another month and try again.

I'm 20 weeks today also and I have real good covering been going topless since the first of October. I think I'm going to get curls the back is starting to get wavy and my hair is so much thicker than what I had before. I had curls before chemo so I'm hoping for them again.

ksmatthews and rocket-you have great hair.

Just over the last few days I've noticed the dreaded curl. Going in every direction except for any that might resemble a hairstyle-sigh. Too short to really do anything with it yet. Trying to just be thankful that I have any hair at all, but I so miss long hair and BANGS. Actually my head/hair resembles the fur of a well loved teddy bear-someoneelse said that here and I loved it, Lol.

Thanks for posting rocket. My hair before chemo was very much like yours. I'm not sure if mine is as curly as yours because I'm not letting get that long. Just can't deal with the hair change AND big boobs all at the same time. (My PS went a wee bit bigger than I had expected Tongue out). Nice to know that maybe by the spring it will be straightening out.  You look fantastic bald.

I had a dream the other night that it finally was straight, shiny and silky again.

BTW all you gals look great.

Rocket and KS, you both look fantastic!

I'm 8 weeks PFC and growing well.  The top/front is filling in and you can barely see scalp now.  Last night I was noticing a slight flicking around the ears.  Yippe - my hair is long enough to flick.  It's approx 1/2 inch.

I also had curly hair pre chemo, but used a flat iron to straighten it, was so hoping it would come in straight.

It is going to be curyl, cause it is so wavy and I have a few place that flip right out !  Oh well, just glad to have hair.

I'm starting to think it's normal that the slowest growing part on our heads is the very front where we'll eventually have bangs?  Does this sound normal?  AND why is my hair so grey?  Will my hair color ever come back, I'm only 41 and I swear most of what I've got know is grey.  Its starting to darken up but it looks like a dark grey.  I used to be a red head, I wonder if it will come back that way?

    Everyone looks so good!

My hai came in very gray and what wasn't grey turned black including my eyebrows! Basically I had/ have the same color hair as my husband's family... But I dye it brown like my old color. I do expect the black to go away. Not sure if I the new gray will go away. It is much harder for the color to stick to the gray. My stylist says I might have to process so long that it will be time for a new cut when I'm done. :P

Ok gang finally took a few pics to update everyone on my hair growth. I hope this is encouraging to those who are earlier on in the process than I am.

I just took these pics after taking a nap so it's a little flat. I blow dry my hair every day to smooth out the curls because I don't like the poodle look on me. I only shampoo every other day though to keep it from drying out even though it only takes 5 minutes to blow dry it with a round brush. Then I use a little gel and hair spray to hold it. It's hard to tell in the pics but there is quite a bit of grey running through it, it's way more noticeable in person. I kind of like the grey looks like hilites.

OK so here I am today at 51 weeks PFC.

And here is the chart I made from 4 months to 8 months PFC to show you all how far I ahve come.

McCrimmon, I was a red head too, but over the years it turned more and more light brown, but it is coming in black! I am in shock. My body hair is coming in light like it always was. Oh, and gray too, but mostly black.

Wow, Carrol!  You look awesome.  And I have to say, I like you better as a brunette! I'm about a month behind you and my hair is very similar.  Just a little shorter.  Thanks for posting along the way.  I've always been able to tell what my next steps were going to be when I saw your updates!  Anyway, you look great!
