Evening loungettes. Stopping in to keep my membership current for the month!!
I know you were all wondering...the colonoscopy came back all clear! Back in 5 years. However, now have started therapy for mild (I think) lymphedema in arm pit and around scar. What a pain. Getting fitted for a compression sleeve (just for travel) tomorrow. I like the therapist though. Got relief after first appointment. I thought my bra was too tight and it was from the lymphedema. I also get my scars massaged to break up the scar tissue and prevent cording. Not quite the massage I was looking for! Exercises are helping to improve range of motion from surgery and/or radiation. Annoys me that neither PS or RO noticed last month when I saw each of them.
Karen, sorry that puppy has not materialized yet. Those darn things have a way of worming into our lives. You are lucky to be on break so soon! My last day is the 22nd. We are so chintzy on vacation days! We go back on Jan 2. Are you at a private or public school?
Hope all you lovelies who have had surgery are on the mend. We've all been through so much, and some of you have had extra besides. With surgeries, or parents, or children, or all of the above...what does peace and quiet and stress free even look like?! We wouldn't recognize it!!
True story. 10 year old comes into school office today and is talking to mom on the phone. All the secretary and I hear is "uh huh, yeah, okay, okay, yeah, fine, bye." secretary says "well you didn't have much to say" and he says, " oh my god. Of course I wasn't drinking in the photo-I waited until after it was taken;) You know somewhere along the way moms end up needing to be guided back to their sanity. Today I had to explain why plastic tarps and bricks were not a good barricade to keep month old puppies in their pen. After the discussion re suffocation,concussions from the bricks WE decided against that idea. *****DORK-If you're going to Rodeo Dr. i'm going too. I've never been there and I love to shop. Good morning, Loungettes! I am having a serious attack of tired lately. Got through all the meetings, appointments, the office party and came home absolutely wiped out. Considering I got home before dark (meaning before 4 pm) that's pretty pathetic. Gonna putter around the house today, try to catch up on rest, I guess. You are de one dat told me dat it takes 1 month per hour of being under anestensia before it is totally out of your system, guessing your surgery was three hours or so. This being said, means you can be lazy for three months and have a good reason for it. Dis is Stella talking btw. Back to DorK....

Hmm, the high of the day--a luxurious long hot shower with serious skin pampering afterward
the low of the day--finding out my mind is still in La La Land far more than I would want to admit to.
Sigh. I keep telling myself it's only been 2 weeks since surgery. I lost at least 3 days in a drug fog after wards. Considering, I'm doing very well, even if I did do nothing but doze all day. I can function when I need to, so I'm just fine, right?
Sadie is heartbroken to find out her freind is really not a kitty, boy did I get a dirty look! I'm going to have to find a special treat for her soon or she will leave me for someone less foggy brained!
Nah, she's spent too much time training me to cater to her every need to go find someone else and start over.
OK, now I'm having another crying jag. That is it, no more anesthesia EVER for me! That stuff messes my head and my emotions up way too much. NO MORE!
I keep telling patients that a tired, cranky, weepy day is normal in the weeks after surgery and to just roll with it, I suppose I've got to take my own advice? Good heavens, it would be nice to have a hubby to take care of me for just one day right about now. . . .
