Kathy....Glad you finally got sone resolve with your toes, but that does sound painful....you need some big soft slippers to cushion your tootsies...
Goldie...thanks for posting an update from DorK
DorK....thank you for checking in.....be a good girl and take care of yourself....let Stella wait on you hand an foot...or what would be a better expression in this case!!!!
Husker....we generally get two weeks off at winter break...the last day of school was the 18th....staff goes back on the 3rd, kids on the 4th....Enjoy your trip to Florida....The weather in South Florida has been gorgeous....and the days are longer here than they are at home....We sat by the pool today to get out of the house, then I took a long walk....
I asked Mom tonight...and she has given the docs permission to communicate with me (or should I say release of info)....their PCP and Dad's neurologist....think I told Mom that I was going to write docs and say that I want updates after appts, so I know what is going on...Mom was okay with this....tomorrow someone is coming out from Alzheimers/Dementia home care to share info with us....only concern is that they have a 15 hour/week minimum....it is quite a stretch for my folks, but Mom will give it a try....if Mom lets me, I will pay a little every month....don't want to stretch myself too thin, but want to help where I can...just not sure if this would embarras Mom....I did add Mom to my phone plan as she was going to get a prepaid phone and I said NO, don't do that, but that is much simpler and its only $10 on my bill....The wine Mom and I got for dinner tonight was much better than the bottle last night....an Italian Merlot....we will have the rest with dinner tomorrow....
My DD got a bottle of wine from company last Shabbat and she asked if she had to open it...of course the company said No and she said good, as her Mom would enjoy it....I think she said its a Merlot, but I forget the brand, but it was one I like and buy at home.....Now does my DD know her Mom....she is not a wine drinker and neither is my SIL, but my SIL enjoys good Scotch and good Vodka....he asked me to get him something from the duty free shop....
Chrissy....baby Kaitlyn is beautiful....congrats to the proud parents and the proud great auntie!!!! So happy for you that you have a date for your knee replacement.....of course, you will have to remind me of the date the closer we get as I'm sure to forget!!!! but we'll all be there with you....
Bernie....where do you find all the jokes....keep them coming as they sure put smiles on our faces....
Seems like a few of the regulars are MIA....hope everyone is well and just happy busy with the holidays....Tonight was the 1st night of Chanukah....its the first time in I don't know how many years that I am with my parents for Chanukah.....I think the last time was when my big kids were youngsters....it is nice to be with them, but I miss being with the kids...but DH took pics of DD#2 and DS and the Chanukiahs (menorahs) so it made me feel like I was with them.
Sweet dreams to all the loungettes....see everyone tomorrow....Hugs

Checking into the HTL.....feeling tons better after battling the creeping crud. Finally.
DorK.....so glad all is well. Was a bit worried. Love the foil story. Rest up and enjoy Christmas.
Otherwise, a friend/business colleague is giving me a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Can't wait to get it. Think this will change my life. I need to get into this next gen of electronics.
My sister who gave me the hideous scarf is getting a local Seattle Holiday Blend coffee. One bad turn deserves another. Not an accident as this has been the norm for decades now. The scarf will go to the next white elephant exchange.
I need to find my pillow and finish my recovery from the creeping crud. Then tackle puddings which still need to be mixed and steamed. Othewise, mostly done.
And celebrations in the New Year. A new American Viticulture Area.....Naches Heights.
Talk about something to toast....but in January 2012!!! - Claire

A man walks into a doctor's office. He has a cucumber up his nose, a carrot in his left ear and a banana in his right ear.
"What's the matter with me?" he asks the doctor.
The doctor replies, "You're not eating properly."A young woman went to her doctor complaining of pain.
"Where are you hurting?" asked the doctor.
"You have to help me, I hurt all over", said the woman.
"What do you mean, all over?" asked the doctor, "be a little more specific."
The woman touched her right knee with her index finger and yelled, "Ow, that hurts." Then she touched her left cheek and again yelled, "Ouch! That hurts, too." Then she touched her right earlobe, "Ow, even THAT hurts", she cried.
The doctor checked her thoughtfully for a moment and told her his diagnosis, "You have a broken finger."0 -
Just a quick check in for a laugh before leaving for a meeting that will be less than fun. Back for more later!

Kathy, glad you finally made it to the doctor for your toes, but you too are a bad bad girl for waiting too long.
Husker, woot woot on the blood work, sure hope everything else will be ok too.
Karen, sounds like you had a good day?
Goodness, not sure I have ever seen it so quiet in The HTL!
Think we need a WAKE-UP call!

1 oz. Bacardi Gold (more Bacardi Gold drinks)
5 oz. Orange Juice (Or pineapple juice)Instructions

Here is a joke that MrsV wanted to share, but was having a hard time getting here.
Two Mexicans are riding a bicycle on a road about 15 miles outside of Lafayette , LA. One of the bike's tires goes flat and they start hitching a lift back into town. A friendly trucker stops to see if he can help and the Mexicans ask him for a ride. He tells them they can ride in the trailer if they could fit in with 20,000 bowling balls he is hauling. They manage to squeeze themselves and their bike into the back and the driver shuts the doors and gets on his way. Wanting to make up time the trucker speeds up. Sure enough a blonde cop pulls him over for speeding. The officer asks the driver what he is carrying, to which the driver jokingly replies "Mexican eggs." The Blond Lady Cop obviously doesn't believe this so she takes a look in the trailer. She opens the back door and shocked, quickly shuts it and locks it. She calls for immediate backup from headquarters, the Border Patrol and the Swat Team. The dispatcher asks what emergency she has that requires so many officers. "I stopped a Tractor-Trailer with 20,000 Mexican eggs in it... two have hatched and they've already stolen a bicycle."

LOL, funny jokes and cartoons this morning! Yummmmmm Lori, I think I will have a WAKE-UP call dwink, really need it! DD and family arrive around 5, and I have tons to do!! I can't wait to see them though. This is my youngest DD that I am taking to Madeira in the spring and her DH who competes in Ironmans, and 3 g'kids (13,12, and 11 in a couple of wks). Lotta rain here still, and they have a long (10+) hr drive, so hoping they get here safely!
Jock, Pants, Mr. Big, Hunk, Wenches, calling ALL of you to take care of all the loungettes here this week. We can start with WAKE-UP CALL dwinks, courtesy of Lori, and go from there. Some of us may still need help cleaning, decorating, cooking, buying and wrapping presents. Then of course, besides plying us with dwinks, I know we could all use massages too!!!! Thank you, Mahalo, Muchias Gracias!!!!
Lisa, Safe travels to you! When are you and NM meeting??? And Karen, Hope all is going well with your parents! DorK, Hope you are taking it easy and healing well. Remember it takes time! ANd will take awhile for everything to settle in and then will look awesome!!!
Love and Hugs,
Kathy

Hi from the icy roads of Maine! Three accidents on the Maine Turnpike already. DH is driving. Slow going. Will take a virtual wake up, thanks! Love de Ho Ho Ho!
Meeting NM for lunch tomorrow yay! Cheers all!0 -
I see i have competion now. LOL
A little old lady goes to the doctor and says, "Doctor I have this problem with gas, but it really doesn't bother me too much. They never smell and are always silent. As a matter of fact I've farted at least 20 times since I've been here in your office. You didn't know I was farting because they didn't smell and are silent".
The doctor says "I see. Take these pills and come back to see me next week."
The next week the lady goes back, "Doctor," she says, "I don't know what the hell you gave me, but now my farts, although still silent, they stink terribly."
"Good", the doctor said. "Now that we've cleared up your sinuses, let's work on your hearing".

A woman playing golf, teed off and watched her ball hit a man playing the next hole. He clasped his hands together at his groin, fell to the ground and rolled around in agony. The woman rushed over to the man offering to relieve his pain as being she was a physiotherapist. The man said "no, I'll be fine". But she insisted. She gently took his hands away, undid his trousers and put her hands inside. She massaged tenderly for several moments and asked "how does that feel"? He replied "that feels great, but I still think my thumb's broken"!

Hi Dollinks, Just stopping by to laugh at all the great posts and to say I'm hoping DorK is doing great! And of course to grab a jug of the DOTD! Kathy, I so hope your mom is doing okay! Bernie, your jokes are so funny, really enjoy, thanks! Scuby, hope your DH drives carefully over those icy roads...we still have had so little snow in the WA mountains, will see what is to come. Hope you and NM have a great lunch tomorrow (and NM hope your less than fun meeting turns out okay)!! Goldie - love the wake up call DOTD, that is delishious and love the HO cartoon he he he! Chrissy - that baby is beautiful! Thinking of you all on this Dec 21...should be the shortest day now which will be great to start seeing more daylight out here. Can't wait for sunny warm summer, but heck, all is going okay for now. My bloodwork came back all normal, so will be the first time I don't have to get re-checked for 6 months! Cheers to All!

Good afternoon, Loungettes! Been out to the meeting, back in the hose watching the snow and rain trade places with each other. Still up in the air if it will be a white Christmas or not.
Undy-that kind of thing is exactly why I don't have autocorrect turned on !

Chrissy-a 6 month waiting period for knee surgery? That must be one really good surgeon! Welcome to Kaitlyn, and congrats to Great Aunt Chrissy

Goldie-thanks for the DorK update! Love the foil part! How do you think I get through the day before Twosday sometimes? After the sinus surgery the bod NEEDED the attention, so I'm just taking care of myself like you ladies keep telling me to, so there!!!!!

Wahine-OUCHY sounding toe situation! You need to get some sort of protector on those tootsies so you don't bump!

Husker-earlier this year I took a vacation, a real vacation, the first one since 2007. It was wonderful! I highly recommend it! How wonderful to have your own Christmas Eve service. I'm really going to miss that this year. My church is very small and had to give up the very big lease on the space we had, now we meet in the Community Center. I don't think there's going to be a Christmas Eve service, we used to have a candlelight service, quite simple but very moving and nice. Maybe I'll have to just have my own in my place this year!

Karen-Good for you for getting set up to get your parents' medical info! A lot of the time people actually come to enjoy the assistance from an outside program, they just have to be convinced to give it a try. I bet your parents will be that way.

Claire-Glad the creeping crud has crept away. I'm jealous of your Kindle Fire! I really want an iPad, but it's just not in the budget, or my Mom's Christmas budget, at least not right now. Maybe someday. . .

Goldie-GREAT DWINKY! Needs to be available EVERY MORNING!!! Mexican Eggs? Hee Hee

Wahine-the current plan is for me and Lisa to meet up at lunchtime tomorrow. I'm going to try to remember to take the camera and some extra batteries!

Scuba-Hooray, Scuby's in the State!

Bernie!!!!! Really!!!!!

Hello goils, I just woke up for PaU Hana with de Loungettes, who is in? Have to first stop by the percotini fountain before hitting the bar.
Before I forget, a huge CONGRAT to Great Aunt Chrissy for the arrival of such a beautiful Christmas gift, sent right from God himself. Baby is beautiful. I overheard Pants, Mr. Big, Jocks and Hunksaying that they are putting they put their tips for the year together and bought the baby a little santa hat (we are not good tippers lol).
Chrissy, I promise you, and God too, that I will be a good little gal this time. Mese has learned many lessons. I can't say that all of my issues have come from not behaving but if anything happens this time, it will not be a question.
Girls, I might post on the exchange thread but when I woke up from my afternoon nap, I was feeling a bit of pain above the new implant but below my neck. It is very tender and it feels like a bulging muscle. I swear, I did nothing to cause this. When I look at it in the mirror, I can see the vein popped out at the top of the bulge. I really hope it is nothing but have to ask God, why the scare? I do not like how this bulge feels. Otherwise, I am feeling terrific. I sent out an email to my family this morning telling them that everything went much better than my wildest dream. To the gals I have already talked to, forgive the repetition.
I was feeling so good yesterday, thought it was too good to be true. I figured I'd wait until this morning to update my family with details other than all went well. So I went to bed early, like a good girl (Chrissy, Lori and all my loving naggers). I was thrilled to have slept through the night until 9am! I did cheat and took a valium for sleep. Well I woke up, had NO problem lifting myself (was propped with three pillows). When I got up, I was amazed at how good I felt. I made myself a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee (with Bailey's of course since I am a dwunk lol) then took my morning meds. I watched "No Regis and Kelly" at 9am, then Rachel Ray while laying down. I got up and on the computer. Two hours had gone by before I realized I had taken NOTHING for pain. I ate some leftover macaroni and cheese with a salad for lunch, popped a half a valium and went to sleep until 4pm.DH went home this morning and just came back to help with dinner and feeding the dogs (can you believe it).
I forgot to tail you all my favorite parts of my experience - NO DRAINS and no antib's. I was out of surgery for a good half hour before it occured to me that I did not have drains. I don't know why as I had them for my previous exchange. But I have learned not to kick a gift horse or how ever the hail that saying goes.
NM, I loved your post today... lmao at the auto correction text and the shoes for Wahine! Speaking of, I hope her tootsies are doing alright and hope more that she will join me for Pau hana. Yippee, Pau hana after three days without it. Well I did have one dwinky last night, a wodka and lemmonaide. It was quite refreshing and mixed with the valium quite well.
Karen, I am happy that things seems to be working out in your favor this trip. Good for you. I hope you will join in for some wine tonight. Me and Stella will be in da htl.
Bernie, lol that you have competition. I guess you have to step it up (LOL, jk). I love your jokes, they are great. They really do not make such awesome jokes here in the states.
Claire, glad the crud left you. Thanks for your kind words. Hey, I have a trivia question for you - you have been in de lounge for years longer than me and I want to see if you remember how the foil came to be. I would be nice and give you multiple choice but I am not nice (except in Santa's eyes) hehe.
Scuby, yikes, ice? I will brb, I am going to pop in the chapel and say a prayer for your safety. Please let us know when you have arrived at your inlaws. I hope you and Scuby have a great lunch and hope that the weather is safe for you to get to each other. I know you gals will hit it off and that time will go too fast.
Where is my Beanie -luv? I am missing her in de lounge. I am going to dwink her pau hana wodka along with my JD!
Oops, gotta fly, will catch up with you all later. Stella is calling me for dinner.
CheerZ!

Just have a sec, as the kids and gkids will be here soon. Been VERY busy cleaning house and cooking. DorK, I am worried about that painful area. Can you puleez call your dr tomorrow and ask them if that is ok? Otherwise, it may be hard to reach anyone, as they may go home early on Fried-dey.
It was nice waking up to NO pain in my toes....omg I didn't realize how the pain has been, for so long. Looks icky though....showed my DH when I had to change the bandages. LOVE the metal shoes, NM...I may need them!
Dork, you iz so funeeee.....you told Scuby to have a great lunch with Scuby! I know what you meant though, just picking on ya!
NM and Lisa, have a great time tomorrow and take lots of pics!!!
Everyone, hope things are going well for ALL of you....will ketchup latah.....
Cheers! Chairs! Tin Foil!

Dofey - I'm here, been here all along making sure you is okay!
Wahine - so glad your toes are pain free, whew, that has been such a worry.
NM - so sawwy I bumped into your post!0 -
Katrinka, oh my, totally forgot that your family was coming this evening. The HTL is quiet without you. Have a wonderful time with your family. I could not believe you had to wait three hours to see the doctor, gosh gal, I was almost in and out of surgery in that much time but seems it was well worth the wait. I am soooo happy that your tootsies are feeling better. Enjoy the kiddies, my Dad always said that Christmas is really for the kids!! Of course it is about the birth of Christ but you get my drift. ENJOY!
Where is eberybody? Don't make me get my people to hunt you down. I am here for a parTAY!! I never did finish the post I was writing but that is because I am Stella now. Bring me a tequilla, Mr. Big!! Rounds for eberybody!!!

Did I say she dances somewhere, sorry, don't remember. DorK, you do dance with you elegant picture and kindness and humor. You dance even on a homey picture. Hope everything takes and everything is kind this time and round 10 is a charm for you.

Took my parents out to a late lunch today...didn't think that I ate so much and I wasn't miserable when I was done but at dinner time, I was miserable...so Mom fixed Dad something to eat...Mom and I did not eat dinner but around 10 had a snack and we finished the bottle of wine...I bet Mom doesn't have a glass of wine again till my next trip!!!! My flight is at 1:40, so we will leave around 11 for the airport....sure hope Mom does okay on the way back from the airport, but I can't worry about it (well, yes I can, but it won't do me any good)...
The women from the home health care agency came today.....Mom is making herself crazy trying to decide what is the "right" thing to do....I told her to listen to what Dad wants since she is asking him...Dad really doesn't want to do anything, but if he has to, he would prefer the home heatlth option...since nothing is forever, I told Mom to give it a try....plus they can help with things in the house....They have a 15 hour/week minimum (or was it 12, but either way not affordable), but it is more than my folks can handle...the gal asked if I could help and Mom said she doesn't want me to help...btw...I had thought of chipping in to help, but I can't insult my folks...so the gal said she could give the same rate with only 8 hours.week...this is much nore within my folks reach...it will be 2 - 4 hour days...the gal wants to start this week, but Mom wants to wait to next week...she wants to talk to her counselor as well as the neurologist....(Mom has an appt with the neurologist for her MRI results, so she figures she can talk to him then about Dad)....Mom is so overhwelmed and unsure of herself in making decisions..partly because she doesn't want to be making the decisions...but again, the gal today said that Dad is "high functioning".....I'm still worried about Mom....I want to ask her counselor (or pcp) how they see her as doing....she is my Mom as I see her as old, but I can't be objective....I know several people in her age group, but I can't use that as a comparison....I just want to know that she is doing okay...
We're on the wait list for 3 different dogs at the rescue....all 2 or 3 years old...St. Bernard, English Mastiff, and Dog deBordeaux...will keep you posted...think DD#2 would take all 3!!!
DH said its snowing pretty hard in Denver and we should be getting close to a foot of snow by morning...I talked to him a while ago while he was walking the dog and he said it was snowing pretty hard....I feel so cut off from Denver as the S. Florida news doesn't even cover it in the weather forecast.....
DS hurt himself yesterday when working out....sore ribs...not quite sure what he did, but DH said that DS is really hurting...not much he can do as far as Tx except to keep taking ibuprofen....DS is happy as he has NYE off as well as what he calls national hangover day!!!!
DD#2 is quite happy....we gave her an Amazon gift card...she now has enough to buy an ipad touch...she has a regular ipad, but wants an ipad touch....she was going to order a refurbished one but says she has enough for a new one so going to go that route!!!! she sent me the sweetest text this afternoon after she saw how much we gave her (not that much actually, but she already had an amazon gift card) and with the money from her grandparents she has enough nmoney....and she found one with free shipping!!! She is really quite amazing!!
DorK....how are you doing tonight? Did you call the doctor as Kathy told you to? YOu know we are here to mother you and make sure you are taking care of yourself
Beans....so nice to see you
Claire...is the creeping crud all the way gone
Goldie, Claire, Undie, Kimberly and all the other loungettes....sweet dreams....see you tomorrow....not sure if I'll get on before I leave S. Florida, but I"ll be checking in from north of the border....I get in around 4:30....DD is going to a play with her SIL, MIL and nieces...she is worried about picking me up late...but I told her to go to the play and have fun...that I had my computer to play on while waiting!!!!

So my sister replies to my email and writes in de subject "happy tit all went well" Me hadda laugh. Laughing hurts me belly but gotta do it once in a while.
I just put together some presents (me don't wrap much, likey bags and bows yippee) and put dem under me tree but had to drop dem on de floor. I will try to get to de floor tomorree n place dem purdy. Me has to go out one more time, den I is ready for santee clause.

Hi LadieZ......still have a touch of the CC. Learned that wine is a great help here.
DorK......I am so glad you are past the worst. Need to pray now for a friend of mine who is having "innards out" surgery tomorrow. No, not cancer, but an annoying problem.
Got the rest of the stuff for my pudding steaming operation which I suspect will be Friday. Just in time for Christmas.
Promised a friend of mine a good dinner as his Christmas present.
I was horrified by a web article about the "evils" of various Christmas dishes around the world. My take is that we don't do nearly enough feasting and way too much mindless eating.
I'm with Mae West who said "too much of a good thing can be wonderful". Suspect however that she was referring to a different type of "feasting". Will do that one too.
Tomorrow, I need to catch up on the things I didn't do because my brain was fogged from the CC. Much worse than a hangover, and no par-tay to blame. The worst.
Anyway, sweet dreams. Hunk, can you tuck me in, as need some really good dreams tonight?? Will take a massage too.
Till the AM. - Claire

Karen - 2 dogs, one of them rescue and I am third owner and besides shedding, she has been a perfect dog and is so old now and almost near her age limit. They said she barked too much and put a shock collar on her (before me). She was never house trained at almost 3 (before me). She was afraid of men and couples (before me). She had 3 owners before me. I am not Cesar Millan. I thought after the first week, I have to send her back. She's pounding windows, snarling at men, pooping the floor. I was walking her and told a neighbor, I think I am going to have to send her back. She became a good citiizen shortly after. She has been a good citizen to her old age, now. Always wonder what she understood that day when I said what I did on that walk but she has been a perfect dog ever since, can't explain it.
She also trained the next dog too, to go outside, to not fear men. Well the young one barks a storm so she didn't train her on that and I can't seem to either, but I can live with that.

There once was an old couple who had been married for thirty years.
Every morning the old boy would wake up and give off an enormous fart, much to his long suffering wife's annoyance.
"You'll fart your guts out one of these days," she always complained.
After a particularly bad week the wife decided to have her revenge and got up early, placing some turkey giblets in the bed next to the old boy's arse.
While making breakfast downstairs she heard his usual morning fart reverberate through the floorboards followed by a scream.
Twenty minutes later a rather shaken man came downstairs.
"You was right all along Missus," the old man says, "I finally did fart my guts out, but by the grace of God, and these two fingers, I managed to push 'em back in!"0 -
Good morning loungettes....I woke up early and decided not to go back to sleep...the house is so quiet...Mom used to be an early riser, but she is till sleeping at almost 7...good for her!!! The morning is going to go by quickly...as we leave for the airport at 11....just 4 hours from now....want to get a walk in...think I'll wait till Mom gets up....then shower and pack....my flight is at 1:40...Mom is worried about their being a lot of traffic on way to airport. I think I might ask her if I can drive to airport....still worrying about her ont he hightway...just pray she will always be safe..
Kimberly....what type dogs do you have? Our Bear is a malamute/husky that my son adopted almost 2 1/2 years ago...he is 8 and so sweet....can't understand why anyone would have let him go....DS and DD love to get him to "speak"....he howls...and tilts his head upward like a wolf...he loves to have his belly rubbed....and go for walks...and he is soooo smart...he knows walks are at night...if we are going out at night he wines waiting for the leash, but doesn't do it during the day!!!
Welll I best get off the computer...BBL

NM, so glad to hear you are feeling better AND taking care of yourself. Hmmmm, wonder if a spanking is in order for good behavior? Those shoes for Katrinka da Drinka, couldn't be any more poyfect. And the Mexican eggs were from MrsV, she couldn't figure out how to get it on the thread. (and no offense intended to anyone Spanish/Mexican)
Ha ha DorK.....you might not be a good tipper, but I haven't been tipping at all, which could be anudder reason da boys don't have any money. Darn that vein, I hope I will read that you had it looked at and the reason for it, also great that DH is helping out. Yes, we are watching you like a hawk, and you need to have someone else re-arrange those bags under da tree.

Katrinka Kandy Kane..........guess we'll just add that to your list! Glad your toes are feeling better. Please be careful the g'kids, and make sure no one steps on them.
Hello Green Bean, wutz you and DH up to for de Holidays. We were going to take the quad and head out to Lake Havasu for some 4 wheelin and stay in Laughlin (rooms are cheap). But it keeps snowing and we can't get out! Expecting more white chit today! Hoping it misses us and we will be dried out enough that we can head out on Monday.
Karen, are you in Toronto now? Hope you had safe travels. I saw the snow in Denver, as well as here! Hoping the best for your folks and your DS's ribs. Never had that happen, but know it can be VERY painful. I see you are leaving today.............well, again, safe travels. Is there another route your mom can take, that doesn't require getting on the freeway? Hoping and praying for safe travels for her as well.
Kimberly, we shall call you "Dog Whisperer".
OH NO Bernie, that was aweful, awfully funny, the giblets/fart joke. So nice of you to find all of these fart jokes for DorK. DorK, are you sharing these wif yer dad?
No NM.............no one is counting. Should be ‘bout 2.5 hours now!
YOU GIRLZ HAVE FUN!

Back to serve up a DOTD. How about A HAWKS COCKTAIL, served...straight up!
Things You'll Need
- Cocktail Shaker
- Crushed ice
- ½ oz dry gin
- ½ oz lemon gin
- ½ oz orange gin
- ½ oz Maraschino liqueur
- ½ oz heavy cream
- ½ oz pisa nut liqueur
- ¼ oz Pernod
- Chilled cocktail glass
- Lemon wheel, for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker half full with crushed ice.
Add the dry gin, lemon gin, orange gin, maraschino liqueur, heavy cream, pisa nut liqueur and Pernod to the shaker.
Cover the shaker, and shake gently for 10 to 15 seconds. Don't shake too hard though, or you'll bruise the gin. (heaven forbid, we should bruise our gin!)
Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish the cocktail with a fresh lemon wheel and serve right away.

2 hours to go!

Ha, ha...love your countdown for NM and Lisa, Lori! Oh yeah, but NO ONE is counting...lol. Yup the hawk cocktail is purrfect, cuz we gotta keep da watch on da DorK. Hate to hear that you are snowbound at home....hoping it lets up and you can get out! How much snow have you gotten?
Well darn, one toe is very painful this am....I wondered if they got enuf nail dug out....not that I want them to do it again....but damn it hurts. I was so enjoying being pain-free. Lori, no one stepped on my toes....yay. Actually the 3 g'kids were sooooo good, prolly cause their dad was here too. But they were very well behaved......enjoyed them. Just don't get to see them very often.
Funny Bernie....I will send that to my DH too....why oh why do guys enjoy farting???? My bro's wife is an Eskimo, and thinks it is so funny that we try to go in the bathroom to fart....but of course she would just as soon find a bush to go potty! She thinks I am *prissy* cause I find it hard to do that! She grew up in a really tiny town with no trees, not sure how they went "potty* there! LOL. I think I told some of you last year, that after Christmas, everyone in the small town she grew up in takes their Christmas trees (real ones) to a certain area, where they are set upright. Makes it like a "forest" for awhile, and kids get to experience that.
Hope everyone is doing well, and is very THIRSTy today....Happy Thirst-dey to all!!!
Watchful Hawks, Christmas Socks, Building Blocks, Likker ROCKS!!!

Good morning loungettes,
To my hawks, yes, I just put in a call to my PS office, had to leave a message as nurse Amy was not available. I really do not think this is anything to concern myself with but did make the call to make my goils happy. Honestly, I would not have bothered so thanks for making me do it - hoping to get a call back to say that the bulge is nothing to worry about. The area that I thought looked like a vein has actually bruised so I am guessing that it is just an inflamed muscle.
Lisa, so glad to hear that the roads in ME are clear and that you are safe. I am sooooo excited for you (and of course envious). Please do not forget to give NM a big hug and a kiss on each cheek (one from me and other from Stella lol).
DH and I were fighting last night over the house, I made him clean "his room" meaning the family room. He insists on having a towel on the sofa and another behind him for his head. He likes candles and refused to throw them away if they have ANY wax left. I counted TEN candles on my desk. When I asked him to straighten the area, he said it is fine but did what I asked. I still flipped out and started slamming the burnt down candles jars in to the trash and smashing glass. Thankfully, the broken glass is in the trash can (or rubbish bin as Chrissy B would say). I will be a good girl and not take it outside until he gets here. It was me over reacting - I want so bad for my home to look like a "model home" with NO CLUTTER. Those who know me very well know that I used to consider myself a perfectionist when it came to my home and my yard. In years past, I would be going nuts cleaning the house due to my former inlaws coming for Christmas. But sadly, this year, they will not be coming. My father-in-law (ex hubs Dad) has been in a rehab facility for many months after a fall that he had not been able to recover from (he is 85). So I ask myself, why do I put pressure on myself, it is just stupid. I am having my brother and his wife (they are VERY sloppy), DH, my ex DH, my DD and her BF tomorrow in the morning and that is it. We will all move to my oldest sister's home for a turkey dinner. This is my family and they do not care what my home looks like. So I ask myself why do I even care? I have become so lazy since BC and just hate it.
I had a bad night sleeping, started to slip into another hallucination type of dream and forced myself out of it. Then just laid in bed thinking thinking thinking. Thinking that I really need to find something to help with my state of mind/laziness. And it dawned on me - cycling! Not Claire style with 50 miles runs, but just enough to give myself a blast of healthy energy I used to have. So this is my plan - we will see how it goes. DH loves to cycle and there are so many great places around here to ride without the fear of getting hit by a car. There are bicycle paths in my own town that would work. I can't do this just yet but it will be a goal going into 2012. I have been so tense and know I drink too much. I do want to live a long healthy life and am tired of living the way i have been since my DX.
I am also very afraid of something happening with my implants again. So afraid that I could cry thinking about what if.....I am having such trouble relaxing and really do not like taking valium. My PCP wants me on valium three times a day, he knows me quite well and knows I am always VERY tense unless I have a drink. There has got to be a better way. I am hoping to find the motivation to get myself a nice bicycle and spend time with DH just riding into the wind. I had a dream that I started to walk and ended up in North America (WTF, I live in Norht America but in the dream, I had left the USA somehow)!
This is my vent of the year. Thanks for hearing me.
**edit, just spoke to DH on the phone, feeling better, he is great emotional support when I get crazy and knows what to say to calm me. BREATHE...in and out ...in and out, through the nose and walaa, feels like me had a dwink!!
Cheers!

POTATO SACKS
This is for older people. Younger people try it at their own risk. This is working well for me.
For those of us getting along in years, here is a little secret for building your arm and shoulder muscles. You might want to adopt this regimen. Three days a week works well.
Begin by standing straight, with a 5-LB. potato sack in each hand.
Extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can - try to reach a full minute. Relax.
After a few weeks, move up to 10-LB. potato sacks, and then 50-LB. potato sacks and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-LB. potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight out for more than a full minute.
After you feel confident at that level, start putting a couple of potatoes in each of the sacks, but be careful not to overdo it...0
