Today's Essay on Why I Need a Drink it Titled, "Oiley Goiley." It could just as easily been titled "Baby Doll Bean," "Dumb and Dumber," or "Just Plain Dumb." But I've gone with "Oiley Goiley" and this is one in a series of "Truth-Stranger-Than-Fiction" stories in da life a Da Bean.
You see, I've just finished washing my hair for the 15th time. Do you want to know why?
Okay, well, yesterday justed started dumb, first thing DH walks out to go to work just before dawn and slips and falls flat on his back cuz a da ice on da path. There is a big brown spot in the snow now - no not what you're thinking - it's from where his coffee went when it spilled all over in the snow. He is okay, but then we made a trip to town. Had to go to Rite Aid to get my stupid Tamoxifen refilled and pick up more booooooooze for New Year's Eve. (I'm expecting a lot of gals are going to need da UFO to bwing extra to them tonight.) Anyways, dere were a few other errands, but at Rite Aid I remembered dat we had run out of conditioner. So while I'm waiting in line for my prescription, my DH gets a lot of boooooze in da basket, terlet paper, pop corn, caramels, all the essentials, and then I tell him we need conditioner. He's been milling around da store looking at all da pretty products and says, "you don't need conditioner, they have baby oil on sale, it's much better dan conditioner." I remember back a while when I was on KeeeMo and my SIL tode me to put baby oil all in my hair and dat would keep it from falling out. Well, I dint fall for da baby oil idea den, but yesterday DH seemed so excited about the baby oil instead of hair conditioner idea. He said you just need a tiny drop. So Bean gets baby oil and goes and washes her hair and puts a drop of baby oil on. She says to herself, "I don't feel nuthin, so I must need a bigger drop." Several drops later the Bean head starts feeling GREASY. She says, "oh no, too much." So she starts shampooing again. And again. And again. Finally runs outta hot water and figures, oh well, it will all work out somehow. But hair was GREASY!!! So back into the shower dis mornin,' this time with dish washing detergent and shampoo. And she shampoos again. And again. And again. This time after it was all out, she gets smart and instead of using baby oil, she just uses body lotion for conditioner. Now all is okay again!!
But we have this huge bottle of baby oil, so what to do with it. I'm looking for cocktail recipes for New Years that call for Wodka, Baby Oil and Popcorn. Yay, Goldie has the Poyfect dwink!!!

OMG Beans, first you had me sooooooo sad (while laffing, sorry!) about the baby oil saga...you have a good way of relating things!!! THEN all the buffet pics...yummmm....then cannot imagine you found a UFO SOCK MONKEY crew....as well as sock monkey cookies, and.....best of all....sock monkey nails!!! Allison....did you see that? SOOOO much fun, silly Beansie, OH I mean Oiley Goiley. YEAH you do need xtra dwinks cuz of all dat hair washing! Too bad your Dh just didn't get the darn conditioner...lol. Only thing I can think of for baby oil...removing sticky residue like price stickers on things (or WD40), maybe taking off eye makeup? A little (notice I said LITTLE) in a tub of water to help soften your skin for a soak? I am sure ebberyone else will have many more hints for you. You poor Beanie Baby, and you kept your sense of humor throughout (or at least in retelling....not sure how funny it was at the time)! Nice New Year's Hats too! I am sure I have some noise-makers and hats SOMEWHERE in the attic, but would not know where to look! Gonna print out the pic of the ones you posted and put that on my head! (not!).

wahine - thanks for laffing and crying with me and for some great baby oil ideas!! And for all the sock monkey day party fun for 2012! DH says my hair looks great and smells great too!! Ha ha ha. Next I will tell you about my MIL - oye vey! She mailed a living Christmas tree to our post office box and I dint know and we only check da mail once a week or so cuz itz about an hour there and back...well, I got our mail right before Christmas and did not get back there til yesterday. This poor lil twee was stuffed in a box, from Harry & David, and needed sun and water. So we have been trying to get it back to health. I could tell you more, but it really gets toooooo cooooooo coooooooo! Best to laff and dwink!!!

Awww Beans I bet you will be GLAD to say bye-bye to 2011. Sad about da tree. You might contact H&D tomorrow or Monday and let them know what happened. They like happy customers and I think they would actually send you another one or give you a credit, to make it right. Even though it wasn't their fault, you did NOT receive it in pristine condition.
