My goodness, Paula, where do you FIND these hunks???? (drooling again tonight!)
Lots of you have commented about the emotional issues and you can add me to the count. I did attend a mindfulness-based session for pain relief yesterday, and I think it is going to be very helpful. It is certainly well-timed for me!
Saw my cardiologist today, and at least one part of my body hasn't deteriorated this year! Hooray!
June, thanks for your kind words. BTW, I also had an exacerbation of plantar fasciitis a couple of weeks ago - I had suffered with it for about 15 years from 1990-2005, with sometimes getting better, sometimes worse. I had been doing better for several years, but I guess I walked a little too much a little too hard or a little too far and got it flared up again. The tamoxifen might make us more susceptible to any joint or muscle injury is my suspicion.
Welcome to the new folks today. Am retiring early, so good night ladies.

Deb - I'm always up for a pocket party!
Sherry - I just sent to the pain and spine clinic today and had an injection in my spine to block the pain, it wasn't bad at all. And they gave me a prescription for muscle relaxants. If the injection works, I should feel a difference in 3 - 5 days, but they said it generally takes 2 injections to work. Sigh.
Purrs all,
Jenn

Deb - Count me in for the pocket party......
Sherry - Sorry you are having pain but am glad to know it is just arthritis.
Paula - If you are a few fries short of a happy meal, then so am I .. I totally get it and am hoping this too shall pass.
Welcome Let Them Swing Free! Sorry you have to join us but am glad you did. Hope you like pillow fights....
As for me today, I went to my first Yoga class since all this crap started.... Felt really good to stretch and was calming after jogging on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Too bad that the weight loss is one of the few SE's I didn't get....
Have a good nite ladies.

Paula, Wow
Odie I love my yoga classes.. I think they have kept me sane all these months.
Deb I'll be in your pocket0 -
Sherry - Sorry that you are still having pain. Will be thinking of you.
Deb- I'll be there in your pocket.
Let Them Swing Free-Welcome!
I went to my first ever Zumba class today. When it comes to dancing, I am SO WHITE. The Hispanic girls looked so coordinated and sexy, and then there was me. Lol. It was fun tho' and I plan to go again.
Evening ladies.0 -
Sherry - NO METS!!!! YIPPEE!
Beebop - I've been warned of that too - and liver cancer. My MO took me off tamox as soon as I tested post menopausal - 7 months of chemo pushed my peri menopause over the edge. It's a tough trade off.
Oh boy with the nearly naked men!

Ceeztheday you are too funny about being the white girl. I give you credit for doing it as I am very athletic but just no coordinated so every time I figure out how and what there doing they change.....ha ha
Happy Thursday and one day closer to the long weekend.....yay!

Sherry so glad to hear no mets! hoping youar ehelped with the pain soon though!
Have a great day Tammy ladies...xoxoxo

Congrats on no mets Sherry. I hope that they can get you so help with the pain issues. You are a brave woman for doing the accupucture. I dont know if I could do it. This coming from the chic who loves getting tattoos.
Beebop just like the other gals here I was given that warning as well. I did have a basline US on the uterus and will have it done on an annual basis.
Cheez to bad we all didnt live closer, cause we could start a zumba class geared towards women who just cant get it. Then we wont have to worry at all because we would all be at the same pace. I tried it and let me tell you that there were grannies who had more rythtm then me. That was the sad thing.
Thanks ladies for getting it on the mind issues. Its just so strange somedays. Im on top of the world one day then bam Im not. I never really had dealt with this kind of emotion before and I guess it justs gets to me some days.
On the pain issues with the Tammo. I know I had said that Im a big girl and will suck up the pain issues but now Im starting to rethink that. Today hasnt been a good day and my ibuprofen just isnt touching it. Im thinking of calling the doc and see if they will give me something stronger that I can take. I would like something that I can take and crawl up under a blanket and rest it away. Heres the thing. I just dont know what to ask for so I was hoping some of you gals might give me some ideas.
Enjoy your day all and try and stay warm if its cold where your at. If your lucky enough to live where its sunny and warm, enjoy it!!!

Sherry so so very excited for you on no mets!!!

June - What long weekend? I know Monday is Martin Luther King day but I still have to work.

Jo so sorry that really stinks.....my hubby is never home for any holiday and this one he is, so it is going to be a family fun day for sure....
Not sure who asked this but we are going to Universal in April with the 9 million people who are also going to be there. I was planning on surprising my kids and having their bags packed and just wake them up and go....but long story short I had to talk to my daughters teacher about MCAS dates and didn't feel the need to tell her it was a surprise so she told my daughter. But my daughter being the fashion girl that she is at the age of 11, said to me " Mom, you know how picky I am about clothes and YOU were going to pack for me?" so I guess she isn't disappointed about finding out her surprise and she will keep the secret from her brother....

My appointment isn't for another 2 hours, so I've been just sitting here getting more and more nervous. Your posts have helped to calm me and make me laugh...thank you all for being there. But if 4:00 doesn't come soon, I may be forced to tap into some of that brownie supply in my pocket :-) I will check back in when it's over.

Deb hanging out with you
Cheeze you make me laugh. I have never tried Zumba even though I think I would like it and I am kinda coordinated and was a dancer in my young years. My oldest granddaughter tells me I still have moves. haha
Tomorrow I go to the pain Dr. and to my MO. My breast pain has gotten so much better since doing PT and since my PCP is treating my neck pain I hope the pain Dr. releses me tomorrow. Will be talking to MO about taking a tomox holiday for this neck pain. ON MOnday I go for a breast MRI. I sure hope no suprises since my surgery in November.
Oh also I signed up with The Army of Women which is Dr. Susan Love's organization. They are always sending out emails about clinical trials and studies that are being done. I got one today where they are doing a study on hormonal therapy and all you have to do is fill out an online surgery and at the end you can write what you want about the medication etc or they even have a number that you can call and speak to someone. If you are interested in participating PM me your email and I'll send it to you. I figure the more we can let people know about the SE's that we live with the better off we will be.

Just want to pop in and say hello to all my tammi friends. I just finished reading this great boo - wish I had it a year or so ago. I wanted to share it with you all - I got the title from someone on BCO but can't remember who and when.
After Breast Cancer: A Common Sense Guide to Life After Treatment

Publication Date: 11-26-2008
Highly recommended reading.

Just got back from the mamo and all is clear! I got nervous when the radiologist asked for some additional views of my right side (my "good" one), but after looking at the 4 additional views, she gave me the all clear
So I see my surgeon next week and hopefully I won't have to go back for another year. Now the next hurdle I have to get over is next Wednesday when I have to go to the gyno for an ultrasound. Periods are getting funky and since I'm on the Tamox with a history of ovarian cysts and endometriosis, she wants to take a peek to see what, if anything, might be going on up there. Sooo, if we could have another pocket party next week, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks to all of you for being there. And being so well-behaved in there

Deb so very excited for you and you know we will all be there, today was fun and the food was great.....kiss kiss
Jo I will have to check that book out. I love to read and now that I finally got a kindle last year it makes it that much more fun....

Will be there for the next party for sure, count me in too!

Woohoo for Deb, we love those clear mammo's
I went for my second acupucture today and it was not too bad. I had a different therapist and she put one in my chin and one in my little finger for my breast pain. Paula I thought of you and giggled at what you said about being scared and you are the tatoo queen. hehe Seriously you should give it some thought with your hot flashes. And for those having joint pain with this tamox who knows it may help. I am already feeling better so is it the acupucture or timing I don't really know I just know I have been able to cut back on the pain pills and just in case it is the acupucture I am sticking with it.
Hope you all are ready for my pocket party tomorrow. The town I go to for my Dr appts is a fun touristy town. So we will have fun running from one Dr appt to the other and if ya'll are not worn out you can go to yoga with me later.

Sherry- I'll be in your pocket. So glad that the acupuncture is helping!
Jo- I also read that book and I thought that it was fantastic. "After Breast Cancer: A Common Sense Guide to Life After Treatment" is available through amazon.com and can be purchased for your kindle.0 -
Sherry I didnt even know that could help with the hot flashes. I will for sure check it out. I am also have noticed that the sugar intake that you and Shari have said triggers them is so on spot for me. I have been paying attention to that. I have been a good girl and staying away from alot of the sugar that I usually eat. Well lets just say the sugar junkie came out in me and so I went for the bag of twizzlers and sure enough hot flash city the rest of the evening. I love love my fruits so I hope that the natural sugars in them wont be as bad cause I dont mind trade them for the sugary treats. Oh trust me when I say this I wont give up my sweets completly, lol. I am after all a sugar junkie.

Deb - great news! We will be there next week too!
Sherry - I'm in your pocket already - didn't you feel me pinch you
0 -
MamaV yes that hurt I was wondering who did that.
Paula the natural sugars from fruit don't seem to bother me. It is just the refined sugar and fructose corn syrup stuff that triggers them for me. At least it helps keep the weight down, haha.
OK another on the acupuncture. I took a pain pill before bed and I did not wake up until it was time for me to get up at 6:15. This is the first time in weeks that I have not woken up and had to take a pain pill in the middle of the night. I think there may just be something to this Eastern Medicine acupuncture. June and Jo I think you need to try it for your joint pain.
