Thanks for the good luck wishes... Going to keep busy cooking today while football is on. Making extra meals so we have some home cooking for the next few days.

Tenaj, best wishes for Tuesday and for a speedy recovery!
One week out and feeling pretty good, could return to work tomorrow, but happy for an extra day off. Still a bit swollen and the bruises are pretty colorful, but overall, much more comfortable than with the TE's! Only took percocet for 2 days, then just ibuprofen when needed. Back to see PS in one more week, sports/compression bras 24 hrs a day til then.
Now onto nips!
Cheers!

tenaj --- good luck.. hope you have an easy surgery and fast recovery...
Lisa -- your recovery sounds just like mine.

Lisa & MargieC - Glad to hear your dong well. Thanks for the info. Keep us up on your progress. How's sleeping going? Did you need to sleep in the recliner? I slept over 2 months in a recliner after my BMX.

tenaj -- I am back in the recliner. I am 6 days post op and plan to try the bed tonight. The good thing is the implants are softer then the TE so that does make it a bit easier to get comfortable.

MargieC- good luck with sleeping in the bed tonight. I'm going at noon tomorrow & have the recliner ready!

I was in the recliner for first 3 nights, partially to avoid DH who had a bad cold. Didn't sleep too great but got some rest. In bed now with 2 pillows, sleeping okay, not digging wearing the sports bra to bed (haven't been wearing them much at all since BMx).
Biggest challenge is trying to lay low and not do as much, it really is more comfortable than TE's but easy to be dumb, went to grocery store and had to remind myself not to grab the 15 lbs of cat litter, etc.
Best wishes tomorrow Tenaj!0 -
Hi! I'm home & doing just fine. Took my pain pill & going to relax in the recliner. Hubby taking great care of me already. My implant card says he put natrelle 20 600cc in, the smaller of the ones he took in. Didn't get to ask why, postoperative appointment in 1 week. Just glad the TEs are out. Thanks for all the good wishes :-)

tenaj, glad you are home. Just relax and feel better.

Tenaj, glad to hear it, rest in whatever feels best and let DH and the rest of the world take care of you. I am going back in tomorrow for oopherectomy, wanted it done same day as exchange but different buildings didn't allow. Amazed how much better I feel without TE's! But also will take another couple of days off. Hoping to be out until Monday work-wise, but will see how I feel!
Continued healing to all! Best wishes to those waiting! Cheers, Lisa0 -
Hi, how long is typical recovery after exchange? I still have 3 taxols left & havent talked about the post chemo schedule with my onc yet, but Im planning to get a hysterectomy and am wondering how soon after the exchange I will be able to have another surgery. PS will do exchange about 5 weeks after chemo ends. I want to feel good & strong going into the hysterectomy surgery, but also want it done by summer. Thanks.

shore1-My PS made me wait 6 weeks in between my exchange and my ooph. Looks like Scuba only had to wait 1 week. I think they are all different.

Tenaj--- good to hear you are home and feeling ok. Take it easy and let the DH take care of you.

It's 10 days in between, but, a couple variables, I had no chemo and no rads, just surgeries and tamoxifen. Plus, am having the ooph done via laproscopic procedure using DaVinci Robotics, which is supposed to shorten actual procedue time to 45 minutes. But 100% agree that it varies tremendously by surgeons... I have been such a pain in the a$$, think my ooph surgeon just wants to get rid of me! Seriously, do feel pretty good or would not be going in... Best wishes, no matter what the path looks like... Lisa

Is it the surgeon doing the ooph or hysterectomy who decides how long after exchange before you can have the surgery? Or is it the PS? Good luck tomorrow Lisa.

It was agreed between both Ob/Gyn surgeon and PS, both are with the same hospital and are okay with the game plan. I am actually using same pre op bloodwork for both procedures. My PT is also aware of this and is planning accordingly.
I also discussed it with my PCP, who is affiliated with a different hospital (I live/work right in down town Philly so all are within blocks of each other). I have tolerated anastesia (sp?) well for the lumpectomy, BMx and TE exchange so that helped... Bottom line is to be direct in asking for what you want, then get feedback from the docs.
It's not a sprint, but for me, I just wanted one recovery time line and this is the last step. Good luck, no matter what the time frame, it just seems like a long time. Good luck, will let you kmow how it goes. Cheers, Lisa0 -
Good luck Lisa with your surgery tomorrow.
MargieC- how's recovery been?
Resting & can't seem to stop viewing on BCO .... The well wishes & support is the best medicine :-)

Scuba- good luck with your surgery today; I am sure it will go great.
Shore- My surgeries were at two different hospitals and I had to get the OK from the PS before I could do the ooph. She was being very conservative and wanted me really healed from the exchange. I have never had a problem with anesthesia, had no chemo or rads and really wanted them closer together but it all worked out in the end. I do know that some people do them together.

tenaj- glad you are doing well. BCO has been my salvation. People here really understand and have great advice to offer.

tenaj -- recovery is coming along. I have had more swelling then I did with BMX, but since I have no drains that makes sense. The last couple of days the swelling seems to have pretty much gone away. I moved from recliner to the bed two nights ago and doing ok there. I am still not sleeping through the night, but that is because I am still trying to stay on my back which isn't comfortable to me - Im a side sleeper. I stopped taking any kind of pain med (prescription or over the counter) 5 days post op. Last night BF and I did 3.5 mile walk - not as fast has we usually go but it was something. How are you feeling so far?

MargieC- you sound like you've done quite well, glad to hear :-). I'm doing very good. If I get up I have to remember to do nothing as I tend to over do. I have great ROM in arms so far. I have more pain on my left(cancer side)the PS did some work to bring them together so I'm not sure if that's why. I was wondering if I could take off this surgical bra & put on a sports bra. The fluff gauze is falling out & I would like the girls to rest more comfortable. What do you think?
Janet0 -
Janet -- my PS moved me from the surgical bra to a sports bra at my appointment last Thur (2 days post op), but you need to check with your PS because they all have different opinions. I am in a sports bra 24/7 and I'm suppose to be in a breast strap (its used to help move the implants into the area of the pocket the PS opened during exchange). I do take the breast strap off some. You may want to ask you PS about a breast strap too since you had pocket work to bring them closer together - which I did too. Hope you keep doing well. BTW I have pics out on the picture forum if you want to see how mine are looking.

MargieC- I called the PS today & was told I could put my sports bra on. Much more comfortable! What does the strap look like? Tried to find your pic & didn't. I'll try later maybe it was the pain med. lol

Hey ladies, successfully through ooph surgery and home. Sore, but with only 2 small incisions, only taking prescription Motrin. Gyn Surgeon had me keep the sports bra on for the procedure based on input from PS. Now planning to take it very easy through the weekend.
I don't have a band, just sports bra 24x7, I go back to see PS next Tuesday (2 weeks out). Will see what he says from there.
On to healing up and moving on!
Best Wishes to all! Lisa0 -
Lisa , glad it went well!

Lisa, glad you are doing well & thanks for posting about sports bra during procedure - I added it to my list if questions since im still a month away from exchange & several months away from hysterectomy. Hope you recover fast from ooph
