Hello Ladies;
I just got my first fill of 50 cc in each side today. I had my TE put in Jan 12th.
Before surgrey I was 5'0 108lbs and a 32A..
I would like to be alittle bigger maybe a B or C. PS is saying he'll be using the
Mentor MemoryGel smooth round high profile.
So has anyone had these and how do you like them?

Hi LisaK! So glad to hear you are doing well!
You might want to contact Whippetmom the implant wisperer. She is really great and awsome at helping you get what you need to be the size you want.

Today was my last day of work before my exchange on Monday. Yikes!!! It always seems so much more REAL when it's my last day of work before surgery. Can't wait to get my squishees and also nervous and hope my PS can make me BIG enough! I want the pretty bras!!!!!

B123, I had the exchange on 1/9, like you, wanted ooph in same procedure. It would have happened, same hospital but different buildings for PS and ooph since GYN surgeon uses DaVinci Robotics. I went back to work on Tuesday 1/17, 8 days later, felt okay. But went back for ooph on 1/18. Yes kind of close but I tolerated the anastesia (sp?) and wanted one combined recovery time line. See PS this Tuesday and have PT on Wednesday. Seeing GYN surgeon on 1/31, plus onco on 1/30, will come off tamox and onto some AI.
Cheers, Lisa
I feel okay now. Seem to have picked up some sniffles and sneezing (which hurts), will likely work from home early next week and head back to my office by Wednesday.
Redninrah, take it easy, definitely talk to PS. Key is no heavy lifting and try and let your body heal, agree with others the muscle relaxers helped the most. Defnitely a balance between staying put and healing and getting back to normal. Listen to your body. My BS told me to take Coalasce (sp?) stool softener the night before and morning of any anastesia. It definitely helped! Wishing you
well.
Rubalou, best wishes on Monday, that's my 2 week mark and even with the ooph in between, I still feel better than before. Hope all goes well for you!0 -
It does get better! I started out with 60cc in surgery and then had 60cc fills weekly (except for a couple of two week stretches becuase of either the doctor's schedule or mine) until I got to an overfill of 600 cc total (my TEs were 550 cc). I had a lot of sharp pain, especially on my left side at first. The doctor described it as most likely "a fold". As the fills progressed, it felt better. I never needed pain meds for the fills although sometimes I 'd take some Advil before I went. I was sleeping on my side within about 6 weeks. I am looking forward to my TE exchange surgery in just a few days (1/23)! I have found if I do a lot of computer work or have a stressful day, my chest muscles "ache" - kind of like shoulder muscles might if you have tight muscles.

Hello Ladies,I am scheduled for my TE exchange this monday January 23rd and I'm actually excited as the expanders are so uncomfortable. I can't wait to get them out. I was a bit out of it at my pre-op appointment and I didn't ask my PS enough questions. So for those of you who have had your exchange for silicone gel implants, what should I expect in regards to pain? Similar to my BMX? How many bad days? How long do I have to continue to sleep on my back? My left side has serious scar tissue so I hope with the cleaning out of it I feel better and not worse. Anyone who has had this surgery please give me a good picture of what to expect the first week as I'm really getting kind of scared. Any advice is much appreciated. Should I buy special bras now or wait til later? Thanks so much for your insight and wisdom.0

Jaysmommy- The exchange was much easier for me than the BMX. less pain and more use of the arms. The only pain I had was from the fat grafting that my PS did. I had to wear a bra the PS gave me and then sports bras that open in the front that I got at Walmart. They really change a lot in the first few months so you might not want to spend too much on bras right away. I think back and side sleeping are ok in the beginning but double check with your PS.
B123- you could probably do the exchange and ooph together. I had mine at two different hospitals so my ooph was 5 weeks after the exchange because my PS wanted the swelling down before the ooph. I had a really easy recovery from the ooph. Compared to having a BMX it was a walk in the park!

If you have an oomph, would that mean I wouldn't need to take Femara? I had a DMX and a partial hysterectomy years ago. Anybody know??

Lisak7290 , I have the Mentor High profile Round 600cc I love them, they are soft and natural looking... I was so nervous before getting them and I can't say enough about them... You will be so happy after the TE come out.

Hi Rubalu, I am new to this site but Hi. I am scheduled for my implants on 2/17. The TE's are making me nuts. I still can't go without a sports bra because I am not very numb and clothing irritates me. I am going back to work in 12 days with the TE's which I hate. Anyadvice for comfort? I am filled to 450,feels like I am going to burst. Hope the implants feel better.

Hi, I have had them in 6 weeks, another 3 and I get my implants. I hope I can answer any questions you have

Scuba: I wish I could do them both together, I guess its to late I didnt plan it right nor were the docs really working together on that. So I guess I will be doing it probably in March. Glad it all went ok for you. I hope I can return to work with no problem after 4-5 days.
Ginger48: I will be doing the same as you most likely. So it wasnt so bad?? Did you stay in the hospital for the Ooph or was a quick surgery? How long did it take you to recover and what kind of meds did you take for the hot flashes and such?

Hi Ladies,
What is ooph?

Hi nehson123:
I got almost all the feeling back in my breasts as well. Wohoo! for that but they were REALLY sensative to anything brushing against them and painfull too.
One of the things that really saved me were Lidoderm 5% patches. They were awesome. Very little gets in your blood stream and they numb you where you put them on. I cut them in half and used them in between my breasts and on the sides mostly. Some fills hurt more underneath so I'd put them there. They rock! Most Dr don't mind prescribing because they are topical. They are like a gel on fabric and are flexable. You can wear them for 12 out of every 24 hrs. I used a little pillow between my breasts when I drove to help with the seatbelt.
I also took lot of HOT showers and took muscle relaxers and ibuprofen. I did doorway stretches several times a day. The other thing was getting fills in the afternoon instead of the morning. Big difference on that one. I guess because I could just lay down and take it easy instead of having to continue on through my work day at a computer.
Otherwise I just kept repeating "this is temporary, this is temporary!"

Sounds like you will only be back at work for a few weeks and then back out again for your exchange. Do you have more fills coming up?
Hang in there!

Hi I just remembered I've got Becker expandable implants, does anyone about these

Did anyone get feeling back in their breast after the exchange? I have gotten a lot of the sensation back in my arm (ALND), but not in my breasts. It would be nice to know if I accidentally light myself on fire, ala Mrs. Doubtfire.

I would like to know how long you have TE's before exchange. Do you always feel like there is a brick under your collar bone? I am not in that much pain as long as I wear the surgical wrap. I purchase 2 mastectomy bras that zip down the front. I wear the wrap over the mastectomy bra. Guess I will be wearing them for a long time.

Sweetbean: I have feeling everywhere except on my incisions. I am 4 months out from my BMX with 2 LN removed on my right side. The feeling has come back here and there as I have gone along the journey. YAY! I can shave my pits and not worry about cutting myself!
evebarry: How long you have the TE's varies widely. It depends on what the goal is as far has how many cc's you need size wise, how often you go for fills and how many cc's you can handle in a fill, and how long your PS wants your pockets to settle in after your last fill.
They pretty much do feel like bricks the whole time though I got some relief when I got enough in them to get them 'off' my chest and projecting out a bit.

Oomph is ovary removal.

Chiluvr-I had ooph and still need to take femara because estrogen is also made from adrenals and fat.

B123-my ooph was a day surgery and I only needed to take prescription motrin for a couple if days. I was only uncomfortable getting on and off the couch. When I was lying around I felt ok. I think after all the rest of what we have been through this seems minimal. I do not take anything for hot flashes; they are a nuisance but tolerable for me.
evebarry- my PS required 3 months from BMX to exchange as a minimum and mine was about 8 weeks after my last fill.

good luck to the ladies getting their squishies this week.....

Rubalou: so you did have your exchange already?? If so, how was the recovery?
Ginger48: Sounds like you handled it well, and your hotflashes are that tolerable that you dont need any meds.. wow, you make it seem very easy!! I do hear that it does get easier with time and your body will adjust. I am worried about Femara because of all the SE and hair thinning, Im already dealing with thinning and not sure why? Does Femara cause any End Cx? I wonder why people choose to do only a Ooph and not the whole Hysterectomy (since they are already in there..) Im fighting with myself on which way to go on that..

Good luck to everyone getting exchange this week.
Momoftwo526: Wow it is finally here. I am so excited for you. I know this has been a long journey please drop by when you get your exchange and keep up up dated.
All the Best,
Vickie

Rubalu,
Did you get nipple sensation back, too? I'm jealous that you have feeling back - I can't feel a thing. Was kind of hoping things would get better after the exchange....

B123: Exchange tomorrow morning at 8am. Yay!!!!!! Bring on the squishees!!!!!
sweetbean: No nipples. I had skin sparing but the cancer was too close to the nipple to be able to keep them. I choose to have them both off because I want the most symetrical reconstruction possible. I feel SO LUCKY to have gotten back the feeling everywhere else. Even as soon as last week I had some numbness that has now cleared. I'm hoping I keep the feeling after my exchange.

B123- I have had some hair thinning since my BMX but I have very thick hair so I am lucky and able to part it a different way and cover it. The annoying part is all the little wispy baby hair that is coming back in sticks straight up and looks ridiculous! My Gyn said my uterus was healthy and did not need to come out. Since it was my 4th surgery in 8 months I wanted it as minimal as possible. We did ooph to reduce estrogen and because of my BRCA2+ status to reduce risk of ovarian cancer. I don't think there are cancers associated with Femara but am not really 100% sure.
