Mrs V- I checked it out and it's pretty good. Our Udy is on there and she's pretty smart bout what to eat and why! Can't recall the heading o the far left, but middle heading is "ER+ladies what do you eat". Check it out, I'm learing lots.

Oops, Cindy, I missed both yours and Karen's post. So happy that your nodes are clear, that is great news. And I think ER+ is a good thing with the exception of having to take estrogen blockers. I think it depends on whether you are pre or post-menopausal on what you take. NM will know a lot more than me as I am guessing. Did you onc give you an indication of future treatment? I take tamox and do fairly well on it. Night sweats and hot flashes are my biggest issue. And hate to tail you but likker seems to aggravate them.
Karen, I know why you are tired, duh! You never stop. I wish you could have a DY (dear you) week. Have someone else do the cooking, take off from work and just be pampered. This is why I come her, I can dream and it is fun.
Well I am about ready for nighty night. And hell no, I will not be on the hammock tonight. Lori is bad, she has to tip anyone who is sleeping at de lounge. I don't get mad, I get even. Stay tuned. lol.

No drink updates tonight...just wanted to share my latest Gracie Lu picture. Of course, before I yelled at her to get down I had to grab the camera and get a picture. Probably not the greatest idea for training her to stay down, huh!

MV-Tidy got it right,that's the thread. TIDY-It's easy to figure out the er+ foods. I was always into health and fitness so this is just about tweaking it a bit more. Most foods you give up are full of sat fat/artificial everything and hormones so this is not a life changer for me. Oops,Mama Dork has had to scold us several times when we get off topic,this is a drinking thread. We'll talk food on the er thread. DORK-I was cyber drinking all nite,no real drinks. You can't really do school work when you're drinking. Although it would make it more fun I imagine. Tonite though I am having some real spiced rum. NM-I'm seeing the magic in power tools while i'm helping DD out. He has some really cool ones. Makes things much easier on him. And it's not weird for girls to like them,we do most of the work around the house anyway. Until a yr and a half ago DH didn't know his a$$ from a hammer. I've trained him to know the diff now. As for the windchimes I will be done w/a new batch in 1-2 weeks and will be happy to bore everyone w/the pics,lol. GOLDIE-I do my work at a rock club w/all the equipment. Would cost a fortune to buy everything they have-thousands. I cut using their saw and polish w/diff wheels so that alone is $$$. Pet wood is beautiful when polished,have a bit of that too. SCUBY-That sounds like a great way to make rock glasses,much faster. It is very time consuming to sculpt a glass from rock. It will be lots of work but i'm excited to try it. Tidy, also meant to say that I have not heard of this TTNM? Unless that is a "type" of breast cancer. Usually it is ILC, DCIS, IBC, IDC, and I am sure there are others.

Then there is a HER2 status of + or -, and BRCA1 or BRCA2 (not quite sure what either of these are) But you should have a HER2 status, the BRCA, I think you have to be tested separate from that.

Tidy--Like undy said, ER+ means estrogen fuels the bc cells. When you get the pathology report you will see a percentage next to the ER, that will tell you how estrogen sensitive the tumor was. Stage 2 means the tumor was less than a certain size (the exact number doesn't come to mind right now), and has not spread anywhere else. The TTNM I don't understand. There is a staging system called TNM--T - tumor size, usually there is an number after this, the higher the number the larger the tumor, N = nodes, usually given as positive or negative, or if multiple nodes were involved the number of nodes, M = mets and is positive or negative. My TNM would be T2, N0, M0 for a 3 cm tumor, negative sentinel node, no distant mets. Going beyond that, ER+ is better than ER- as it can be treated with tamoxifen or one of the AI's. Typically, ER+ bc is slower growing, less aggressive, and has a better prognosis. When you get your path report please post the details and we'll help you interpret it.
Karen--I have a time in the afternoon when I will fall asleep if I sit down. I get it no matter how much sleep I got the night before, not sure what that's all about but you aren't alone. A walk is a good way to wake up, so is doing housework, I've found. Is Mischa warming up to you now?
DorK--Yeah, I had the little pains you get when you use muscle that are used to just going along for the ride. Contorting myself in the closet trying to do a 3 handed job with 2 hands would have been entertaining to anyone watching! I love to swim, too, but don't have a pool. I have to hit the pond or go to a beach. At least at the local pond I can take Sadie, who also LOVES to swim.

NM-We are all so lucky to have your expertise! Please explain this part if you can....I'm glad to hear that my ER+ is a good thing....BUT if my cancer is fueld/fed by estrogen, WHY would my ONC ok the vagifem tablet prescription? It's an estrogen tablet!! I don't get it and I'm starting to worry bout who is in charge of this ride! On a happier note, I LOVE your morning pics!

Undy-I'm really enjoying the thread about what to eat when ER+, thanks for pointing me in that direction. I'm fairly good about what I eat, even better since BC, always knowing that the jist of it was "mostly fruits & veggies", but now I have to worry bout hormones in my chicken?!?! UGH!!

Tidy--please call and talk to your doc, Vagifem should not be taken by women with invasive breast cancer, especially ER + bc. Ask your doc to check the Contraindications/Cautions section of the prescibing information, history of breast cancer or ER+ cancer is a contraindication for use of Vagifem.

My onc did not tell me to stay away from any foods.....he even gave his okay to occasional soy...we eat tofu a few times a month......and as far as things for vaginal dryness, he gave his okay to the e-string as it is not absorbed into the body......I am strongly ER+ (forget the exact %)...right now I'm not using anything...if I get my act together and get my sorry hind end into the gyn for a past due annual check up, I should get a new Rx for the estring......
Lazy morning.....its almost 10:30 and I stayed in bed way too late and then first thing I came to teh computer.....but its time to clean the house.....the floors are so dirty from teh dogs....Mischa dripples water every time she drinks water and that makes the floor dirty....but small price to pay for almost 250# of dogs (Bear and Mischa together)!!!....have a good day!!!

Dork had a pritty good dey. She declined another mortgage loan at work. I love declining them early in the process,my second decline of the week. The first was a title issue, the people trying to refi held title in an LLC, no can do. The one today, was for a client in Atlanta. The property appraised $100k low.It was a portfolio refi and the guy bought the property in 2008. I was very surprised that it appraised so low, $10k lower than his original purchase price. Cindy, I am sure glad that you asked the question here about your BC stats. DorK was a lot like you though. She did not get a copy of her path report until months after her bmx. People were asking her what stage she was and she was like, uh, I dunno. So she asked. I would think that the doctors would give us this info since it really is key to our futures. When DorK got her DX, she was given a notebook with a lot of info on BC. She put it in the back seat of her car and never read a bit of it. She was too biddy swimming de nile. My point was about you, not Dork. There comes a time when we need to know and I am happy that your prognosis is a good one.
NM, I agree with Cindy that you are a great resource and are so nice to have you around for your expertise. You have hailped mese and Dork more dan once. You are perhaps the biggest asset that the HTL has. Not only do wese look forward to your most awesome posts, I personally feel that you give better advise than doctors. The doctors always seem hurried to get to their next patience. And I think you, me, Unde' and Kathy should build a house. Maybe something for habitat for humanity? Believe it or not, Dork has skills. She turned a basement into a living area in her first home. Dat was before she was in de mortgae buziness and had a 9-5 job. I used firring strips to creat a drop down ceiling, used 2x4's to attach wall board to the cinder blocks. I did not do too well with the spackleing the seams but that was because i id not have enough patience to let it dry completey before I put on the next coat. But I was very proud of my creation. I cut the trim for the floor and ceiling too. And I did all this with only a jig saw. Me has a good idea. Why can't we build a real church in de HTL instead of the inflatable. Who is in?? We have talent, specially for goils.

Good snowy morning, Loungettes! Sitting here looking at the snow, the plows have been by twice, once each way. Some schools closed in anticipation of the switch to rain/sleet/freezing rain in a little while. Got my new laptop for work the other day, need to bring it up from the car and get used to it, or get it I used to me. It has handwriting recognition, which is way too cool, and going to make life soooo much easier!!
Stella--I know Mr. Big told you not to tell, but I'm a nurse and I need to know certain things to take care of my loungettes properly, so lets meander over into the secrets corner and have a little chit chat, shall we?
DorK--I've got to admit that I'm surprised that property can decrease in value. Even here in economically dead Maine property values only go up, especially when the tax assessor comes around. And that river De Nile must be huge, since I go skinny dipping in it once in a while myself, and I don't' have to travel far! A Habitat for Humanity House? Sure, we could do that! I am becoming convinced that women can do anything they want, and women with a bc diagnosis can do it even better! A real church for the HTL? GREAT IDEA!!!! Love the inflatable one, would be great to deflate and pack in the HTL UFO or the HTL Bus for instant use "in the field" as it were!
I am glad to be able to help, and appreciate the appreciation. You all can do the same research, you know. Eppocrates.com has a free drug info system that I use a lot, it gives all the prescribing info in a compact form. Lots of other tools, too. I just have this ready to hand (along with a few dozen med books) and love to share (and teach). I do have a vested interest in the subject, too.

3/4 oz Coffee Liqueur
1 1/4 oz Hazelnut Liqueur
1 1/4 oz Irish Cream
1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
1/2 oz Whipping CreamDirections
Add the coffee liqueur, irish cream, hazelnut liqueur and vanilla ice cream to a blender with one cup of crushed ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into a parfait glass, and top with whipped cream. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings, and serve.

Have to get insurance to approve (costs $3500 and only 1 company in US does it). I had it, am negative, BUT, with both me and older sister getting Rat Ba$tard at 46, think it is just limitations in what they can test for. Knowledge is power though.
