Shore you should always check with your onc. My onc didn't have a problem but I was on Taxotere and Carboplatin. You are on Taxol and ?

Did you do anything with the face fuzz, mine is longer than the hair on my head, white, my DH asked me about my beard?  Should I do anything about it or will it go away?

I took biotin while on taxol with no problems. But it's better to check with your doctor cause everyone is different. What may not effective some people would effect others.

I used The Clio from walgreens and cut off the facial fuzz.  It has never grown back..

I wasn't going to walk around looking like a Yeti.  The white fuzz came off with the Cleo.

Apparently I'm in denial, thought my hair would come back in straight, it's coming in curly and thought I escaped the facial fuzz, noticed it the other day.  OMG!  It was terrible, used my hubby's trimmer.  Sure hope it doesn't come back.

I, too, used a Clio on the long peach fuzz beard that appeared out of nowhere.  Love it, best $8 spent in a long time!

I am taking Biotin also.  Started one month pfc.  Seems to be helping hair growth and nail recovery, but who knows?  Am also using Nioxin shampoo and drops.

    ksmatthews, you look gorgeous!

I will be staying with a shorter haircut than pre-cancer.  My wig was shorter and I loved it.  Will also lose the reddish blonde I was coloring to.  Hair seems to be coming in dark brown/gray so I will wait it out to see if I can go natural for the first time in 30 years!

    Hi all,

What is biotin exactly?  Where do you buy it and how do you use it? It seems like lots of ladies have success with it and hair re-growth.... Is there a danger in taking it during Taxol vs. waiting till chemo is over? (I've got 7 tx more to go, weekly).

    Thanks all!

claire - it is a supplement (pill form) that is supposed to strengthen hair and nails.  My hairdresser advised to start it after I was done with chemo, as she felt that the chemo would negate its benefit, so I would be wasting money on it.  I started it a month after the last chemo.

Finally went to work today without my wig (6 1/2 months pfc). My hair is SO curly. Ugh. Any tips on good products to help relax the curl or manage the frizz?

Anderkk1 I never went poodle because I kept it short. Go post in the  "Hair Hair Hair - Another question" thread. Someone there will know.

I lost my hair on AC and it started coming back in 4 weeks after my last AC. Then I started on T (paclitaxel) which I get every week, now that I'm 6 weeks into it I have a thin #2 kind of length. But, yesterday I noticed a few strays, and today it's coming out along with my eyebrows (which thinned at the start of T but filled out again pretty quickly). Will I lose it all over again? Has anyone lost their hair twice?

I've got 6 more weeks of chemo to go and I'll be bummed out to lose what I have managed to grow back, I only just stopped wearing a buff under my hat this week because I felt I had enough to look like a normal hairline.

Taika, yeah, sorry, it will most likely fall out again. I had the same thing and it bummed me out. First I had 4 Fec txs, lost the hair, then a 7-week break for surgery and recovery, which meant that when I started Tax chemo I had a bit of hair. After the second taxotere it all fell out, as well as the eyebrows and lashes.

I am now 7 weeks past last chemo, and I have stubble on my head. But it is some kind of hair at least, and the eyebrows are coming back which is nice.

Taika - I did the same thing.  Lost it all with A/C (but kept lashes and brows), then it started to grow back until I started weekly Taxol.  Lost it all again, AND brows and lashes.  Plan on it so you won't be devastated again.  On a positive you don't really want that hair anyway b/c it is poisoned :)

Ladies, please tell me it all falls out - I have horrible painful stubble and I'm hoping for a smooth bald head that isn't prickly and painful! I've completed 3/4 dose dense AC treatments, most of my hair fell out on days 15-17 (about 3 weeks ago) and  I shaved off the rest with an electric razor, but the rest hasnt' fallen out and shaving it turned the remaining strands into prickly, painful stubble - I've been hoping it would all fall out and I'd have a smooth head (which I hope is more comfortable than this stubble). After I'm done with AC I'll be on Taxol for 12 weeks - someone please tell me it will all fall out soon and I'll have a smooth head and not have to deal with this horrible painful stubble any more - or should I shave it again? this time with a real razor?
