Lemon - I agree with Lago - f*ck her! My sister in law can be like that - pushy on food choices. She doesn't eat meat but shoves marshmellows and cookies into her mouth at all times. Whatever!

Timbuktu one way to help reduce stress is exercise everyday.
I'm not kidding.Or just hit the pillow.I dislike blueberries. My family teases me about it. My PS is always telling me to eat berries with the "blue" ones first on the list. I eat black raspberries and crasins. I love strawberries but they upset my stomach.

Good morning....sun out again......sure hope it stays. I'm working on a little weather depression ( too much gray time ) and would like to bloom in the sun for a bit. Nice thing though....up to the 60's again today. What a winter???? sort of nice that we didn't have one, but now I'll be wondering if we are going to have a somewhat non-summer.
Lots to keep me busy today....my pantry needs to be reorganized. Put one wrong thing in there and before you know it......nothing is in the right place.

So true Lago. Excercize is a panacea. Even when I'm feeling ill after an infusion, if i can walk, somehow I feel better. But sometimes I feel too weak to get out there, and it's cold! But yes, for stress, nothing beats it. The Northwestern onco told me 30 minutes of excercize a day cuts recurrence better than almost anything.

Spring? Gee, I better take a trip to the city today. Just got back from walking my dog and here in the 'burbs we have snow, not crocuses. It does look like a lot of the country is getting spring about a month early, so I look forward to that. Still its a beautiful day full of sunshine.
Adey I thought it was you doing the badminton. If its high schoolers and twenty somethings, I don't think I'm ready!
Timbutktu, if stress causes cancer, I'm doomed. I have read that yoga, meditation, and tai chi are good for stress because you train your body to react differently to it. I have tried to start meditating, but I don't think I'm good at it yet.
Back to laundry for me, now.

Lisa - Everytime I got "backed up" I ate a couple of prunes. It was amazing how quickly it worked. Sorry you have to deal with this. I hope you get some relief soon.0

lisak Here is the thread on constipation. We all have different things that work for us so it might be worth reviewing. Here's what I did:
I had the issue even before tx because I have IBS. I always ate dried apricots everyday, pro-biotic and lots of veggies anyway... but then came the big blockage with chemo! The first tx was hell. Even Milk of Magnesia didn't work for me. I got hemorrhoids as well. Finally got it to move with Metamucil… which I took 3x a day per directions on the package.
What worked for the rest of my tx was I started taking Metamucil as directed the night I started chemo. It kept things moving, granted slower than normal but it did move and I didn't get hemorrhoids like I did the first tx. I only needed it for 3 days after tx day.
And of course drink lots of non-caffeinated fluids!

Good morning as I thank the sun for being out. The more sun the more my mood and outlook become proportionately better. So....it's going to be a fantastic day.
As always, great advice for Lisa. Issues many people have, and I did as well for a large portion of my life. My higher fiber style of eating helps and after chemo was done.....things just worked better with a stable diet. Not much concern for me anymore. A couple of cups of coffee in the a.m. tends to set things right for the day. Probiotics helped me as well.

Lisaak-Have you tried vit c and magnesium? You can get a combo powder in any vitamin shop that you just mix with water. It is very sour as it is mostly lemon, but if you can drink a glass every half hour until you go, it usually does the trick. My uncle was a doubter but he was all plugged up after surgery. After just 2 glasses the dam opened, and he has been using it ever since to stay regular. The good news is that both Vit c and mag are good for you! Most over the counter laxitives actually make matters worse in the long run.

Twohobbies-I'm with you. I've tried mindfulness, meditation, tai chi, reiki, and chi gong classes with no results. I'm pretty sure I'm more stressed than ever due to my failure at the classes.
