Wow, I haven't been this behind on reading posts since I joined you wonderful ladies . . . Happy Belated Birthday to Laura and Julie.  MadsMom, congrats on getting your foobs, and hope you are doing well.  LisaK - your pixie cut looks great. Hope you are having as few SEs as possible from your chemo.  Connie - YAY for 5 years out, and for Disney. Lago, every time I see your hair progression linky, I marvel at how photogenic you are (who looks good in their DMV photo?!).  Joan, sent you a PM.  LisaMomof4 - LOL about your teens being used for portion control.  My heart rate and BP have been up ever since this whole BC diagnosis.  I have always had a very good resting heart rate and BP, so it's really annoying to me that they have both shot up.  I haven't really done much to address it -- trying to just get through treatment first, and not so high that the docs are saying anything about it, just high for me.

I haven't been posting/reading much because I have been busier than normal with work and kids activities.  Work has just been crazy, and I am not sure why.  I don't think it is going to slow down in the next few weeks.  Hockey season has come to an end today -- my son's team played in the Championship game for their division. They lost, but I am very proud of them for making it to the very end. Went straight from there to lunch and then to Little League tryouts. So, yes, hockey is over, but baseball is just beginning. Also, we have a goalie competition (DS) and a figure skating competition (DS and DD1) in April, as well as the Ice Show in May (DD1 and DD2).  Oh, and DS says he might want to do Spring Hockey after all if he's going to have to go to the rink so much (for the girls) anyway . . .

I was a little sad today (and I have been doing a lot better mentally lately, so this kind of hit me out of left field).  Before the hockey game started, they had the moms come out on the ice.  As they introduced the players, each player was handed a rose, then skated with the rose to their moms, and handed it over, in exchange for a hug.  It was really cute and fun.  But, I had this nagging thought that I didn't know for sure that I would be there to receive that rose in seasons to come.  How would my son feel possibly being the only one without a mom there for him?  I know I need to try to be positive, but when it comes to my kids, I am so fearful -- I just can't stand the thought of leaving them without a mom.

This week, I have a PS appt, my first consult with a Rad Onc. (Wed.), and my first Taxol chemo (Thursday),  I don't have anyone lined up to go with me to the chemo, so Lago (or any of you Chicago girls), if you're not busy and would like to drop by, let me know.

Hope you all enjoy what is left of the weekend -- thinking of you all, as always.  Lisa

Onward you need to upload the picture somewhere like photobucket. You then click on that little tree above the dialog box. Then paste the link in there.

send the photo to one of your favorite "IL ladies" techie to post if for you.

Still not used to this time change. Work up at 7:15!

Onward....I am so happy for your family and what a great picture~ I undertsand about pictures.  I can post pictures just fine but not on this thread.  I have one of Violet that is just adorable and I think I am going to have figure this out.  BUT...Lago and Laura do it so effortlessly...that I may lean a little longer!

Today is very warm and I have to admit it seems kinda odd.  The idea of possible global warming prevents me from loving it too much.

    Hope all are well.

I'm on late but 'cept for the wind it is so fantastic outside.  Hard to believe.....like Susan though....I do have some nagging global feelings on this, sigh !!!!  Here's hoping this is just one of those things.....though supposed to be pretty much warm all week.

See you all later....I have a big cup of decaf waiting.

    Congrats Onward!  Weddings are special!

    Violet is precious!

I had my 5 year checkup with onc yesterday.  Everything looks good.  I will be done with Tamox in November and it sounds like he will then switch me to AI.  Kind of nervous.

I also recently had another bone density scan.  2 years ago I was told I had osteopenia and this new one says it has gotten worse.  Not osteoporosis yet, but still not good news.  I tried Actonel 2 years ago and had a bad reaction.  Onc is sending me to an endocrinologist.  I try to do as much weight-bearing exercises as I can but it still got worse.  Yuck.

    Enjoy the warm weather!

Morning....I had the same INSTANT thought as Lago.  How adorable this little Violet.  I looked into her eyes and also thought in an instant....how wise !!!!

Connie I am sorry to hear that the drat osteopenia has not improved.  I hope a 'good' fix will come in time and when you need it.  Good to hear though that otherwise you are un-eventful after five yrs.  Wonder if just switching to something besides Tamox will slow or even stop the progression.  Sigh !!!  sounds too easy but it sure would be nice.

Staying warm here.  I'm just hoping for the best ...... knowing this will change in a few days. Hope you all have a really good day....don't sweat too much.

    Hugs, Jackie

p.s. Laura....I found that graphic in Google images.

    I want to plant a big smooch on Violet's cheek-what a cutie.

Connie-congrats on the 5 yr check up and soon to be complete Tamox, but sorry about the osteo-praying you find a way to control it.

Heading downtown-looks like a beautiful day for it.

Hoping you all get to enjoy this good looking day.

    Violet = beautiful!!!! She's adorable! :)

Today is my first 3 month check up with my onc...can't believe it's already been that long, where the heck is my hair????

Connie....congrats on the 5 year "all clear".... boo to the bone density result though!!! Hopefully the endocrinologist can slow it from ever getting worse!

This weather is amazing!!! My daughter wore capris to school.... Love it! Although I'm still scared the weather bomb is gonna drop on us still....I hope not! I do not enjoy snow on Easter!

One month from right now I will be en route to cancun!!!! YAY!

    Happy Tuesday ladies!!! :)
