Happy Tuesday all!  Yesterday felt rough, maybe the time change, maybe the weather...but today is beautiful!  My foot is semi jacked up (my first running injury)...but I want to take a bike ride today after work.

Anyone planning on getting out today?  Share!  Being stuck in an office today stinks.

Connie 5 years! How about this for a happy dance.

NancyJill I still went to bed at 12 and up at 7. I really need to get in gear.

OMG it is so warm out. I saw a few crocuses opening outside the lincoln park conservatory. Told you the ground hog in Chicago did not see his shadow.

Corinne I was thinking about a bike ride today. I have been on my bike for a few years now. Not sure if it even works.

Connie - Yay on the 5 years!  Boo on the osteo - praying for results for the better with the new doc. Good for you with the strength training.

Violet is precious!!!!!  I just had that baby after a bath smell come back to me for a second!

The  weather is gorgeous. 78 tomorrow???  I may have to work from home :-)

Corinne, how did you hurt your foot?  I can't wait to start running again.  Maybe I can next week.

Connie - CONGRATS! Sorry about the "bones". Endos are few and far between. It's such a misunderstood specialty. I hope you can in with one in a reasonable amount of time. Have you looked into high quality calcium supplements?

    Cute, Lago!  Love George!

Laura - onc warned me about the wait time for the endo.  I called and they told me July 24th!  I told the gal I was leaving for Florida on July 24th so it would have to wait until August.  She asked me if I really wanted to wait that long!   No!  But if I have to wait until July 24th what difference does one more week make!  Silly!   So....  I am on the wait list for cancellations.   I do take calcium supplements but I have not looked into anything more than the stuff you get at Target.

Hope everyone is going ok on this gorgeous evening!

Zap - what a cutie your little Violet is! And her expression is priceless.

Connie - glad you are going to see an endocronolgist. I did and found out I am loosing calcium due to something called hepercalciuria and now am being treated with a dierutic, also instructed to stop calcium supplements and get my daily dose from food - very counter to what we are normally told to do. Keep us updated.

Hello to everyone. Love this weather.

lisak7290: I know that is disconcerting, but now your head shedding won't upset you anymore. The scalp discomfort will reduce over time, as well. Second treatment--a milestone! Hang in there!

Good morning....so Spunky, it is hard to get  that song out of my head....as I'm looking out my little office window.  I see all the signs of Spring.....there is nothing quite like the color of green in the new growth coming out of winter hibernation.  I think it is all yelling yahoo, happy Spring, lets go, and other assorted things like that.

Connie and Char --- wow !!!!  Good reason to see an Endocrinologist.  Char I've heard that word/diagnosis before but never ( at least I think ) connected to a cancer diagnosis previous to.  How interesting.

Lisa....now you are past another major hurdle on your way to wellness.  It can be one of the toughies, but just keep your mind focusing as much as you can about the end result of all this.

I know it's warm in Chicago and surrounding areas today....Enjoy-Enjoy.

    Hugs, Jackie

Lisa I loved these scarves: http://www.anokhiusa.com/  I just tossed them in the washer and dryer and they still kept 95% of their color.

Hi I'm Judy, I'm located on the NW side of Chicago. It's nice to find some local ladies. I'm still sore from surgery (lumpectomy 3 wks ago, why is it taking so long?) and wishing I could excercise, the inactivity is depressing. I'll be scheduling chemo soon, and it's dawning on me that I'll have to make plans for the hair thing. It's a little daunting, I have a big head of long thick curly brown hair. I'm a tomboy, no makeup or jewelry, so I'll really be missing the hair. And hadn't really thought about it until now, cause it's just hair.

     Glad I found this thread!

Welcome Judy, jdwench.  Glad you found this great group of ladies who are all so willing to help you get through this journey.

I am headed in to see my PS tomorrow as I am battling another cellulitis infection on my radiated breast.  Grrr!  He put me on an antibiotic for now, but insisted that I come in so he could see better what is going on.  I am just hoping that it clears up ASAP so that it does not delay my back surgery scheduled for April 2.  But I have a feeling that I may be in for some revision surgery on this breast.

Zap, you must be really enjoying Violet.  What a sweetie.  Pic justs makes you want to give her a big kiss and a hug.

Loving the weather today.  Not sure why, but I keep thinking that we are going to pay for this weather with one last big snow storm.  Please, NO.

    Hawk-good luck with the tamox.

    Lisa-2 down! yeeha!

Judy-Welcome, glad you found us. Hang in there, each step gets you closer to being rid of this nasty disease.  Stop in often to get answers and support and smiles.

Joan-so sorry to hear about the cellulitis. I hope you can knock it out and get your surgery as scheduled. No more snow-not going to happen.

Welcome Judy....glad you found us but sorry you had to! Cancer sucks!!

Robo....I'm so DONE with this fake hair business....I'm impatiently waiting STILL!!!! Ugh.... I saw my onc on tuesday and went on and on about my lack of hair growth at 13 weeks pfc....she suggested I wait a couple more weeks and dye what I have dark....Ashe thinks it will help fill it out since my fuzz is really light. I'm just SO tired of putting something on my head.... Over it!

I was given a clean bill of health and don't have to see my onc again for SIX months.... NED baby!!!

Hawk, good luck with the tamoxifen.... I've been on it since January 1st. My biggest s/e is hot flashes.... But I had them with chemo too.

Joan....April 2, that's so soon.... Ugh!!! And cellulitis too?? :(

I really want to play hooky today.... But, I have too much to do. BOO!!

Welcome Judy,  It is beautiful out!  Can you go outside to walk or ride a bike?  The movement may help the soreness go away. I felt that the more I moved - even just walked on the treadmill, the better that I felt.

RoBo47 - I am getting the BRCA test too.  My BS told me that I was ineligible but my MO & my Gyn both ordered it.  One of those things - I wish I would have pushed harder earlier for it.  Enjoy the beach!!!!

Praying for the sun and warmth to bring on the hair growth for you ladies!

Yay Madismommy!!! Congrats on NED and especially the no followup for 6 months!!

Joan - praying for healing for that infection.  I still have my open sore from rads and it is worrisome. I do hope that everything will be ok so that you can get your back surgery done 4/2.

    Lisa - two to go!!

    Thanks ladies for the welcome!

Lago and Hawk, I guess by exercise I meant run. I had taken up running about a year ago, and it was keeping me mentally well. helps with anxiety, sleep, etc. now that i had to stop my estrogen replacement it would really help. I've been missing the beautiful weather because I've been having non-stop chills and occasional sweats. staying in bundled up most of the time. the docs think it's healing related but not infection. But I will get out and walk this morning, no matter what!

I am dreading the possibility of doing chemo and radiation in the muggy heat of a chicago summer. I am one of those people who normally runs hot. If I'm comfortable in a room everyone else is freezing. Can't imagine wearing a wig or hat in the summer. how does one do it? is silk cooler? I have to wear a long sleeve poly lab coat at work, that doesn't help at all.

Welcome, jdwench. I can understand your concern about wigs in the summer. I just shed my wig today! I have read that certain scarves are much cooler. Some ladies really can rock the hairless look, too. About 3 weeks after lumpectomy I still had a seroma that was sensitive. My incision still hurts from time to time as nerves develop and during my radiation, which is going on now. That is normal. I think your surgical site will feel much better in 2 more weeks. Don't freak out when you can tell part of it is numb--it won't stay that way. However, full healing takes months. Robo and Hawk: I'm having no trouble at all with Tamoxifen. Hope you don't. Joan888: good luck!

Nancy-love the new pic, you look beautiful! Tongue out

Had my pre-surgery lab work and ultrasound today for next week's ooph. Driving home on the Eisenhower at 4pm just added to the experience...

Well, geesh! Darn it, etc. just left my PS office for a check on my cellulitis infection. Not good! This infection did not respond to the first antibiotic, so he had me pick up an antibiotic cocktail in the pharmacy there to take immediately and is having me get a PICC line inserted tomorrow to get going on a daily IV antibiotic. What an adventure. PS is very reluctant to give up on the implant yet. He was so happy with the symmetry and the way things were looking. Oh, yes, and have to reschedule the back surgery. PS is going to talk to my back surgeon so I will probably hear soon where that adventure is going. This is really crimping my style. Grrrrrrrrrr!

Joan that stinks but this sounds like an antibiotic bomb. I bet it gets it this time.

NancyJill OMG you look terrific. Perfect for this hot weather we are, oh wait were having.

Interview tomorrow morning… wish me luck.
