Hi ladies - I am off to Disney today!   Going from the nice weather here to the awesome Florida weather!

    Hope everyone is doing ok!

Lisa - I would report the sore throat.  May be chemo related, may be a virus - but they may be able to give you something to help.

    Hugs!

Connie....have a fantastic time.  Such fun.

Lisa....was just thinking about you.  Good advice.

I think it will rain today....but we have had it so nice.....in the 80's or close for over a week and not much let-up in sight it does not seem.  There is going to be lawn-mowing in our very near future, and even more so once we get through the rain.  Everything that can be is in bloom....and I am stuffy-nosed but happy.  A little bit of heaven returns in the form of Spring.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

    Hugs, Jackie

Hi there :) I'm new to the forum, popping in to join in with the Illinois ladies. I live in Bolingbrook, was diagnosed on 1/11/12 with IDC, 2 tumors, same duct, 5 cm apart. ER+/PR+/HER2- and ER+/PR-/HER2+. Just finished my 8th Taxol/Herceptin, moving on to AC after that. Loving this great weather we're having now. Going out for lunch today with a friend while the getting is good!

Welcome KristinFro......you have found a really great place with lots of loving and caring ladies who are wonderful in the hand-holding dept. and who also look forward to and love getting together.  Glad you found us.  We could wish for a better reason, but it is what it is.

Thanks, hawk, IllinoisLady, and lago! And yes, lago, I get a break of the Herceptin while doing AC, and through until after surgery I believe (doing chemo, then mastectomy). Then it'll be a year of Herceptin after all of that.

LMOF!  How funny is that?  Do your kids go to North or South?  My oldest is at DGS!

Welcome KristinFro-wish it was under better circumstances though. Great picture!

Heading to Rush for salingo-ooph, and recently added D&C-outpatient, so at least I'll be home tonight.  They called yesterday and it was scheduled for 6:30pm, I said no thank you that meant I'd be coming home at midnight. They changed it to 3:30-we'll see if they're actually on time.

Hope you all get to enjoy some of this beautiful day.

Hawk -- My oldest is at DGN... though their grade school was Hillcrest, which splits the kids into DGS/DGN, so they have lots of friends at DGS.  She is a freshman.  Next year her brother will join her at high school.

Kristin -- I did all of my treatment through DuPage Medical Group, and I was very pleased with my care.

I'm enjoying the last of this beautiful weather.  Slept with the windows open and wouldn't you know it one of the cats figured out how to escape... so I started my morning by literally climbing up a ladder in my robe, to retrieve our poor scared little cat.......

Trying to catch up quickly this afternoon.  Welcome to invisible and KristinFro!  Glad you found us and know that you will have lots of hand holding if you need it.

I am still on the twice daily IV antibiotic bomb, vancomycin.  I really have the hang of doing this IV thing myself at home.  It was itimidating at first, but like my nurse promised... it's a piece fo cake.  Haven't seen her for a few days, but she is coming by tomorrow morning to check on my supplies, etc.  I see my PS on Monday afternoon and will determine then what the next step will be.  The redness is nearly gone, but the implant is rock solid yet.  Sort of figure that I am in for some sort of revision surgery before I can reschedule my back surgery. Frown

My azaelas and daffodils are blooming like crazy.... probably 4 weeks ahead of schedule.  I am going to miss seeing them bloom next month.  It will be a long time between spring flowers and summer flowers this year.  DH mowed the lawn today for the first time this year.  Love the smell of fresh mowed grass.

Connie... have fun with M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E.  Everybody sing now....

LOL!!  I should have turned the volume down on my pc on my desk at work before clicking that link!

LMOF - That is the way our Jr. High works as well.  My kids go to Jefferson and half of Jefferson goes to DGN and half go to DGS.  It is kind of a bummer.  I also have an 8th grader going to DGS next year.  Yay!  Next year, my 3 kids will be in 2 schools instead of 3.

Spunkyboobster - hope you are feeling good and at home.

Hello all, Lago recommended dropping in here to ask about 3-D tattoo resources in the Chicago area. I had thought to page through the posts to see what might have been mentioned, until I saw you ladies are up to almost 750 pages!  You must have a very lively discussion going!

I live in W. Michigan but had my bmx and recon in Chicago at Northwestern.  I'll have nipples constructed in a few weeks, but before I talk with my PS about areola tattoos, I thought I'd explore non-PS options if there are some 3-D artists in the area.  My deductible is super high and I (hopefully) won't meet it this year, so I'm going to pay for the tattoos out of pocket no matter where I get them.

So...any suggestions for tattoo resources I can look into?

Thanks so much for any ideas-

    Carol

    Morning all-

JDWench, I am also on the NW side of Chicago (Norwood Park/Gladstone Park).  Where are you?

Connie, enjoy Disney and I too now that that song in my head.  Thanks Lago. Thanks bunches. :)

Carol, I recently had my tattoos done in Feb.  I was out of Northwestern and they recently starting a relationship with a tattoo artist in the city that specializes in color.  I had to pay for him out of pocket, but the work was done in my PS's office.  However, he could also do this in his studio, which is in Chicago. I have to say, the work is amazing and I am really really happy with the results. Now, I did have nipple reconstruction so he added color around this, but he did tell me that he has done the nipple tattoos without recon too.  Info here as taken from his FB page.

Taylor is his assistant and you would book through her.  He told me that he books out about 2 months.

Happy Saturday morning everyone......more rain today...like we need it, but the sun will come out in between so it may not be so bad.  The green everywhere is still beautiful and quite soon we will be mowing the lawn for the first time. Life is good.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.....even if a Spring rain in included.

    Hugs, Jackie

Surgery went well on Thursday. The robotic procedure is amazing-three small incisions and done!Great team from beginning to end. The doctor found endometriosis, she was surprised I didn't experience pain.

Gloomy day, but the rain left evrything so wonderfully green.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Good Morning. I keep forgetting to mention that while I was in Florida, we stopped at a Sally's store and I asked if I could buy Nioxin there. She said they only sell the generic form and it was a whopping $7.00 bucks for each of the shampoo and conditioner. Way better than the Nioxin price of 30 something each. So I bought it and am happy to say there is a noticable difference in my hair. It's been about 15 days. whoopee.....Onward

    Hi Illinois Ladies,

I am new to this thread and am wondering if anyone could recommend someone to do a 3D tattoo in the Chicago metro area?  Or the opposite, if there is anyone to avoid?  Also would you recommend skipping nipple recon due to the tattoo being extremely realistic, or going through with that surg.  I am scheduled soon for nipple recon.  Thanks for any feedback!

Glad to discover this thread.  You are a very supportive group and there is a lot I can relate to--Pam

Pam, I don't have answers to your questions ( though several ladies here will ) as I did a lumpectomy.  I am just wanting to welcome you to the thread.  Most of us have been here a long time  and enjoy "hanging" out with one another.  I hope you will come often.
