Thanks Ella. BTW I didn't want curly hair. It's so not my personality. It did get a bit of a wave when growing in but because I kept it short so it was never an issue. One thing that you can't see yet is my hair texture finally got back to normal in January. The hair feels more like my old hair and not this fine stuff you see in t photos. Yes I know I need to update the linky.

AEM, maybe those clinics that do hair transplants could transplant our new chin hairs to brow and lash

Ossa, that is a lot of hair suddenly. Looking good!

ossa....looks great...I am 15 weeks PFC and it is starting to wanna grow straight up...I am not going thru colouring and having grey roots again...gonna try keeping it my natural colour. I am much older than you gals.

looking great Ossa I bet it starts to lay down some as it grows. But for now it looks like a trendy spikey cut.

Ella, you can have my chemo curls!
I had curly hair before, so I am used to having hair with a mind of its own. To be honest, I had always wanted straight hair, so I bought a straight just below chin-length wig. I liked it well enough, but am now over that obsession.0 -
AEM47..be grateful you just have one chin hair...I have white fuzz that even grows UNDER my chin and my ears....I am tempted to shave it but I don't dare. DD says I need it waxed but I am afraid it will get thicker....Still hoping it will disappear!

My hair was always very thick and very curly and I hated it! Now I have a covering of salt/pepper hair and I can't tell yet whether it will be curly again or not. I know one thing, no matter what it comes back like.....I will never bitch about my hair again!

Kelloggs, trust me you will bitch about your hair again. You do get back to your normal self. I had a great hair day Mon-Wed. Yesterday and today, not so much
Yes you will be saying that before you know it too. 0 -
Ossa, You look great. I remember that hair sticking up stage. You know that saying, "Be careful what you wish for because you might get it." When my hair first started growing back, it was so flat and it looked plastered to my head. I used to wish it had more body to it. A few months later, my hair had a lot more body than I wanted.
Ella 117, Most likely, you will get chemo girls. I am almost one year PFC and I refer to myself now as "Curlylocks."

I guess that would be when I realize life went back to normal!

I am sort of looking forward to the whole experience of "a bad hair day." I always had long hair, down my back. It was never colored or styled. When I got too old to have long flowing hair, I put it in a braid or bun.
Now I will have ot get hair cuts and stuff, it's a whole new world.

Kelloggs.. I second what lago said.. I swore I was never again coplain about my hair.. just wanted hair.. Now i have this hair that looks like it belong on a troll not a human..
Do you see the similarities??

Ossa, be a good girl now, lol. You do NOT look like a troll.
0 -
No I don't see the similarity Ossa.
I know I decided that I wasn't going to look like a chia pet growing my hair. I so took to the Halle-Berry style. My bangs are longer now but the hair on the sides and back is shorter than hers because I chose to do it. You can get what you have styled. I will make a huge difference. And remember we are almost the same age so if I can do it so can you.

Ossa - you do not look like a troll! LOL I would rather look like a troll than my current look, which is my 75 year old father's style.

lago...you have BANGS??? OMG you lucky girl!
0 -
Kelloggs, I was seriously afraid of having mine grow into to look like my dad's. I already resemble him way more than I like, but he is bald, classic male pattern baldness.

schatzi14 I'm 15+ months post chemo. If I didn't cut my "bangs" the would be at least past my cheeks by now. You'll get there.
BTW on Chemo I looked like Gollum. My husband thought Darth Vadar sans helmet. Without the scarf I wasn't pretty because I didn't buzz it.

LOL on Gollum. I had to buzz mine. I am much too much of a neat freak about certain things to be able to deal with it otherwise.

Here is a word of hope to you all wondering what you will end up after chemo. My hair came back the way it was when I was a young girl and didin't hilite at all and I deep conditioned it once a week. I think maybe it's even a little thicker. I always had a little curl to it and the shorter and more layers the more curl. But the curls blow out nicely and give it great body. My only gripe with it nw is I want it back to my shoulders but it look pretty good anyway.

oh and btw I am also 15 months PFC and bangs are down to my chin yeeehaaaaa!

YAY Carroll2 - there is hope! Right now I am 8 weeks PFC and look like a chia pet!0

I am 5.5 weeks PFC and my fuzz is now turning dark. My friend came over today and could not believe how much my fuzz has grown in the last week. My eyelashes are coming in. I lost my last eyebrow the other day (they didn't start falling out until AFTER chemo) and I have tiny eyebrows peeking through. I had to shave my legs last week. I was never so excited to shave my legs before!!!!! Things are happening in the hair department. I can't wait to have a cute pixie cut.
I found some natural oil at home that I used on my son as a baby and it works well on my head. I find my head SO itchy as my hair is coming in. It's fine until I have a chemopause hot flash and oil starts to run down my face!

Borntosurvive, my eyelashes fell out after chemo as well, which was really annoying. The oil running from the hot flashes made me chuckle. We really have to put up with a lot of annoying stuff thanks to these wonderful treatments.

You're right on, Lago. I'm just a tad behind you, and my bangs are to my cheeks now, with not having cut it in a long time. Herceptin definitely slowed my growth. My hair took off as soon as I finished.

I have 5 more Herceptin treatments - I sure am hoping for a growth spurt afterwards!

Lago - Can you swipe my picture from FB to put here?
I have always had really curly hair so I wasn't scared of chemo curls at all. My hair has never been this short so most of the time I run around lookin' terrible - curly everywhere!
I figured out over the weekend that I can actually wrap my hair around a curling iron and smooth it out a bit. It takes a lot of gel and other crap, but it turns out ok. But I'm used to big curly hair...it's all I've ever known! PFC for me was 6/9 - I'm almost a year out. Last Herceptin in January. My hair is as long as my index finger.
Debating on whether to have it shortened up and just keep it short. My nose is too big to have no bangs so once they reach eyebrow length, I'll make a decision.

pejkug3 did I friend you? Send me a PM on facebook with a link to the picture you want me to post.0

Ossa....your hair is looking very stylish!
It doesn't even come close to resembling a troll doll, but your humor gave me a good laugh.
I am sure a lot of us can't help sometimes feeling like troll dolls after all we've been thru. LOL!
Lago: I love that pic of Halle you posted ....It is a short hair style I'd like to try to achieve.
Thank god for Halle...she def. helps to give short hair an air of coolness!0 -
Thanks for the Halle Berry photo. The idea of my looking anything like the divine Halle is pretty funny, but I do like that hairdo.
