Had my last fill today. I am at 720 cc. My exchange surgery is scheduled for August 23. Whoo hoo, one step closer in this process.

That's great Mooleen. I have no idea when my last fill will be, but my next fill is Thursday. I will ask a lot of questions then. You all know so much about your TEs and amount of fill you have and what your fill goal is. I don't know any of that, but I will soon find out.

Neato-I had forgotten what that felt like. I am getting excited about it now. To not have these turtle shells will be a relief.

Momof3infla- And thank you for the reminder to not overdo it. I'm going to have 1 drain and want it out asap.

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing so well so soon.

LaurenM  It sounds like the drains at exchange vary from PS to PS.  I had one on each side after exchange but they came out in a little less than a week.  Best of luck to you for exchange!

momof3infla- Even super women need to slow down once in a while!Wink  I've had the same experience with the "back talk" from my body.

I hope that everyone has smooth sailing with their upcoming exchanges!

I didn't have drains. When I read that some do and some don't I began to get scared. I didn't want to deal with those again! tomorrow it will be one week since surgery. I have muscle pain but not TE pain. For the last 2 months, I felt like I was being sliced on the left side from the pain. My muscles under my arms hurt. I think it is because they stretched out my arms and strapped them down when the did the surgery. I am so happy to be without the TEs. I have to wear the surgical bra day and night until my PS tells me not to. It may be tomorrow.

The gauze pads fell off today after my shower. I was surprised to see that I have stitches. I hope they dissolve and don't have to be removed!

When you get those TEs removed, you will feel so much better.

    Take care!!!

I follow the girls that are on here...nice to hear that everyone is doing well after their exchange.

I sooo can't wait for mine. If May wasn't stupid busy, I'd already have it done. Oh well, June 20th will be here before I know it.

    Keep the good news coming!

I started a separate thread about scar treatments but have not gotten much input. Anyone here have some remedies that you can share about? I was using Palmers Vitamin E oil and the lotion for my lymph node incisions with pretty good success. Just wondering if there are other ideas. . . Hoping to get the mastectomy lines minimized as much as possible prior to the 3D tatoos.

I'm scheduled for revision surgery on June 4. I'll be trading in my 800 cc moderate plus silicone implants for 960 saline, in addition to having pocket work done to release the pocket to allow the implants to round out. I never in my life thought I would have one plastic surgeon, let alone two! I really like what the second one had to say and liked how she listened to me. Sadly I will have drains again, but hopefully not for long.

GraciousGal- the nurses at the hospital ALL recomended Maderma and when I asked PS he said yes, just wait until incissions are well healed.  Good Luck.

GraciousGal - I've had good results with the silicone scar strips.  My PS's PA swears that the strips or plain old massage with any moisturizer or oil works best.  I've been really pleased with the scar strips.  They worked especially well on an area where I had pretty nasty necrosis.  The nipple and adjacent skin were very tough with scar tissue and softened up and looked much better quickly with a silicone strip.

    Good morning, Ladies --

Exchange completed!!  Yay!!  I have 2 drains (yuck) even after PS said I wouldn't need them 2 hours prior to surgery.  It really is all about what's going on when they get in there.  I was sent home in the velcro surgical bra and immediately changed to my front hook Target bra.  Pain?  Not really...I stayed on the schedule for 24 hours just in case and then switched to tylenol.  There is some burning at the incision line but nothing more than a minor nusiance.  The "weight" relief is almost instant.....that tight bra feeling, gone!  I'm actually wearing a bra 24/7 and feel less "bound" that I did before.  There is no heavy chest feeling like with BMX.  I have been sleeping in the recliner since Monday but it's only because of those pesky drains!!!

I haven't really had a unveiling yet but can tell things are still swollen and puffy under there.  I can't wait to see the finished product :-)

Dixiemine30, I am relieved to hear you are doing so well after just a few days.  I am getting pretty nervous, but I just keep thinking about getting rid of the heaviness and that iron bra feeling. I think the reason the TE's are bothering me more is the feeling is starting to come back instead of just being numb.

My husband is worried about me getting more surgery and wants me to just keep the TE's. Can you imagine!  Maybe I should tell him he needs to replace his testicles with baseballs and see how it feels. Lol!

I'm sure I'll be posting more today as my surgery is tomorrow and I've already taken a xanax just to stop shaking and make it through work today. The best thing is I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am so maybe I won't have so much time to worry.

PS. Have I mentioned it more than a hundred times that I am the biggest chicken in the world when it comes to needles?

MLP - clearly your DH has no idea how terrible these TEs are.  No one does, so you can't blame him...  Good luck with your surgery tomorrow.  How excited are you?  I'm the absolute worst with needles, so I'm with you on that.  However, I still can't wait till my surgery - counting the days till these awful TEs out.

I called my PS and he gave me Vicodin not Valium...  Maybe because its 2 weeeks till my exchange?  No matter the reason, its not really helping.  Wahhh

MLP - sent you a PM with my cell number.  Good luck tomorrow!!

Lauren -- LOL at your PS, they really don't listen sometimes, huh?  Give him a call back and get valium or xanax to take the edge off until your exchange.

Lauren, I am pretty excited! Scared to death, but excited too. I'm looking forward to squishies and being able to roll over without the rocks waking me up.  And getting rid of that constant pressure and stretching. Not to mention the sore ribs. I kind of feel like it's a new beginning. I need to lose quite a bit of weight. This should inspire me. Not only for health reasons, but for total vanity! I could be thin with big boobs for once! Well, maybe not that slim, but definitely larger boobs. Doesn't it seem like when you lose weight they are the first things to go? Not anymore. I guess after what we've been through we're intitled to a little vanity.

I just can't believe your PS won't give you valium. What about your PCP? I couldn't have made it through with it. Did the heating pad help at all?

Thanks for the private message Dixiemom. It really helped. There's light at the end of the tunnel.

I saw something on the news today about the amount of money that is spent on breast cancer research. I think it was about $27000 per person. Lung cancer which kills more people than breast cancer didn't even get $2000. I think it's because of all the women supporting women that makes it possible. Skirts rule!

MLP - I feel exactly the way you do! It's a new beginning! The only thing I did differently was to postpone my exchange so that I could lose the weight first.

I got Amazon sized TEs in the OR after my BMX, but you really couldn't tell because of my huge gut. I decided to start Optifast, and I'm down 37 pounds. Those TEs look HUGE on me now, and feel like boulders. I still have 33 pounds to lose, and I can't imagine what they'll look like and feel like by the time I get to exchange.

I am actually hoping for SMALLER foobs. The original girls were 38DDD, and oh, how they hurt! This way, I'll get implants that match my body size.

Blessings2011, I wish I could have lost it beforehand. I admire you for sticking with the Optifast. I don't have the willpower. I'm hoping I'll be inspired after I get my foobs. I have the gut too. My originals weren't that big, a C cup at best, and with this gut I don't think the new ones will be either. I'm getting 800cc silicone. The nurse in the PS office made a comment about me getting the big ones, but I'm expanded to 900 now and they look smaller than what I had before.

How long did it take you to lose 37 pounds? Maybe it's something I should look into.

Just joined this site.  Hello everyone.  I had a lumpectomy two years ago and in March 2012, following the discovery of a tiny lump that remained after lumpectomy, I decided on a mastectomy with TE.  I will be having my exchange on June 21 using a silicone implant and a lift and possible implant on the good breast.

Congrats to all who've had recent exchanges and good luck to those with exchanges coming up soon!

An FYI for newbies to this thread.  There is another great and helpful thread called Breast Implant Sizing 101.  The creator of the thread asks that you please read the wealth of information at the top of the thread before posting a question - she answers many of the same questions over and over so she put a lot of the "basics" in the header to get you started.

    Best wishes!

do you ALWAYS have to have TE?  i am for a skin sparing dmx in june and am not sure if i want to diep or implants. i am 5'5, my bras are usually 38c. im about a 10/12.  i have breastfed two kids and so my breasts are saggy. i doubt they'd need to stretch my skin, if anything they'll need to remove excess i think.   i think i want implants....but im just not sure. i like the look of implants.  but the diep sounds good because there will be nothing foreign in my body and its one surgery.  im 33yo so i'll have to live with these foobs for sometime. any help?

Nahnda - So many decisions to make, right?  I wasn't interested in the large hipbone to hipbone incision from a DIEP so I chose implants.  I've only had them for 9 months and so far I'm quite happy even though I have a few minor cosmetic revisions still to go.  Because the implants are usually placed beneath the pectoral muscles they must be stretched to make room.  I had skin/nipple sparing surgery so didn't need skin stretching, but the muscles still needed to be stretched.  Some women are able to have immediate implant placement, but not all PSs offer it and I believe that is only for women who start small and want to stay small.  At 38C I'm not sure you'd be a candidate, but it's worth inquiring about.

    Good luck!

Kim - I'm June 6th too. I can't wait. This next week and a half is going to be torture!!!

MLP - I got some Xanax. Both they and the Valium make me tired. What mg were you taking? Maybe my dosage is too high...

I, too, wish I had the willpower to lose weight now. I don't feel like running quite yet, so I'm still eating like normal... Not good. Lots of people I know swear my the Dukan diet. It's protein. I guess like Atkins but not so much fat. I'll try that and running after my exchange...
