Deborah.....thanks so much for the link.  We watch Today.....everyday, after our local news but I had a couple of things I had to do......feeding my dogs, and I had to go out just as that was starting.  So, I missed most of it, and didn't get the full "story".

7 Rad treatments done and 3 to go.  I will be finished by Friday.  So far other than one real strong wave of fatigue/nausea on Tuesday, it has been uneventful.  The biggest pain is the piece of plastic with wires sticking out from my side.  (brachytherapy-internal radiation).

Invisible.....still praying for a good outcome for you so that you don't have to face more surgery.  Sounds like your spirits are up.

Lago, Still praying that a job will come through for you. Not just any job but the perfect one for you!

Have a great day all.  It is really nice outside.  Wish I could stay out longer but have to get back to work.

Rene look for me. I'll be Union Pier Friday-Sunday. Plan on going to the discount mall on Saturday. My newphew graduates in IN. Then the celebration is in MI. (BIL has a home in Union Pier).

I'm on my way out so I'd chat more. Maybe Sunday night or from my iphone on the weekend. Keep cool. It looks like a hot one.

Deborah-thanks for the link, just saw a teaser on the news and was going to check it out.

Had my last appt with my bs today-have to change due to insurance.  I'm going to miss that group sooo much.

Also had onc appt today.  She didn't understand why the Rush BRCA point person said I wouldn't qualify to have it covered by insurance.  I remembered the conversation we had here some time ago about her and how she didn't seem to work to hard to get anyone qualified with their insurance (or even return phone calls).  My doc said she'd "look into it".  So we'll see.

What a warm one today-not complaining though!

Heading to exercise class-I'm perspiring already~

Just popping in to say Hi. Sounds like everyone is doing well.

Invisible...glad you have surgery under your belt. Remember I am close by if you want a visit or need anything...PM if you get bored at home and I can stop by or something.

Joan - glad the drains are out and you have a surgery date...hoping you will be on the mend with your back soon.

Lemondrop - how are rads?  Hoping not too bad.

Hi to the rest of you all.  I have been busy with so many housr projects....moved 3 yards of mulch today.  I am hurting tonight.....only 7 more yards to go.  Blech!

I will also be in the city for a PS appt next week....I can't remember which day but I will look and post it in case anyone wants to meet for lunch.  It will probably be my last appointment for some time.  I don't see a med onc down there anymore and I have finished reconstruction.  Hope I can catch up with some of you downtowners next week.

    Good Morning Ladies!

It has been a little bit since I last posted as I hadn't been up to being online much.  I have great news to report.  Today is my last radiation treatment!  30/30!!!!  I am not clear on what my next steps are yet, but I see the chemo doc on 6/4 and I am hoping to get my port out soon afterwards.  I am dealing with some rad burns under the breast where the skin blistered and is an open sore and in the armpit area.  This is so minor compared to what I went through with chemo that I feel like this is a breeze.  i am happy about today and little apprehesive as i have that looming feeling of "what now?"

Wanted to share my good news with you!

Hi everyone, wishing you all a wonderful holiday weekend.  The weather sure wants us to know that it's summertime!  We will be at an outdoor soccer tournament all weekend, going to be a hot one!

Haven't been posting much... been very busy on my job search, starting to get some momentum, so fingers crossed something will pop soon.  I have had several phone interviews this week with recruiters, but starting to see some action in talking to the people with actual job openings!

I cannot believe how busy the kids are.... it's soccer season tryouts.  My eleven year old's soccer team looks like it is falling apart, some kids losing interest, some kids moving to different clubs, so she picked three soccer teams that look like a good fit, and is trying out at all of them.  Then she got a recruitment call for a newly forming club in our neighborhood.  She got her first "offer" from a very good team, she is ecstatic.   We have 48 hours to accept or decline.  This is my first child doing this kind of a sport.....  can you believe we are talking about an ELEVEN year old?   She is really struggling to make some decisions... does she want to be with her friends or with the most competitive offer that she gets?  I guess it is good practice for college and jobs......    the rest of the kids are juggling two plays and end of year recitals.....   Older daughter made the high school cheer team, big relief for her, she didn't make it last year and she had to fight back through an ankle injury.

Life is so good now, a year ago, when I was bald, tired, and burned up from rads, I'm not sure I could have seen my way through to this.  I am grateful that I get to worry about boring things like paying the mortgage.....

Enjoy this wonderful weekend, and hugs to all of you in treatment!

wish for one............yay, your're over almost all of the tx hurdle.  It is a little hard to be "set free" since you have had someone working with you and helping you cope with and do txs and other procedures.  It is off-putting to sort of HALT all the things that were reassuring in your battle with this enemy.  In a bit you will gain a little sense of comfort.....it is never really over.  We just learn how to be comfy with "what's happening now" even if it doesn't seem nearly as active as it was.

Actually, reading Lisa's entry just below yours will help you visually glance off in the distance to what is waiting for you.

Hoping you all have a wonderful day.  It's rearing up to get toasty ( I hope not toooooo humid ) here today.  See you all later.

    Hugs, Jackie

Hi everyone! I have completed 4 out of 33 rads, and so far it's been pretty uneventful, though I feel like I am in the middle of some kind of high-tech science experiment during the actual treatment.  Valerie and Wishn - yay for being done!!  LisaMomof4 - what you are going thru with your 11 year old soccer player, we are going thru with a 9 year old hockey player.  He has been recruited by 2 other clubs, played with a different club for the spring, but is still trying to decide what he wants to do for the fall.  It is kind of crazy.  We are actually winding down a bit as spring hockey is over, and the ice show is over, so we have a little less going on going in to the summer.  I have not planned very well for summer (i.e. kids clothes, camps) -- I need to work on that this weekend.  Karen, I think you asked about when I was supposed to start rads.  My RO said he typically starts 2-4 weeks after last chemo.  I was supposed to start at the 2 week mark, but got hung up because of an insurance snafu, so ended up starting 3.5 weeks post-chemo.  Don't have a lot of plans for the holiday weekend -- birthday party for my niece tomorrow is about it.  Looking forward to getting some sleep and otherwise relaxing.  As always, thinking of all of you -- hope you all enjoy the holiday weekend!

Lemondrop:  Good to know about the rads.  I hope to start as soon as I can after chemo (2-3 weeks?) as my son is getting married and I want to be done with everyone at least a week before his wedding (have to more tx treatments, followed by 34 rads).

Lisamomof4:  Your post brought tears to my eyes.  Good luck with the job search!  There is a light at the end of our tunnels!

Hi girls...very hard to post this but to know us is to understand where we started from..sometimes cancer deals us a "light" blow, sometime she delivers a hammer..

    this message is from WendyTY...

I saw Dr. Gomez today. He told us something neither of us expected, at least today. Outside of intervention from the Lord, I'm out of options. I am officially on hospice. Hospice will work closely to monitor and treat my pain. When it gets too bad, they will keep me sedated until I pass. The results from the scan were that the cancer in my body from the neck down was under control. The cancer in my brain is another story. All the tumors had at least doubled in size and I had a new one since my last MRI less than a month ago. What we initially thought might be a UTI was actually one of the tumors putting pressure on the part of my brain that controls my bladder. It's been a hard day on all of us. We are still holding out for a miracle. Only God knows the number of my days. I will continue to hope in Him until I take my last breath. Please pray for peace for my family and loved ones. This journey is easier on me than them.

Morning Girls....Just wanted to stop by and say hi to all. I am very far behind in reading but it looks like all is well with those in tx. My heart goes out to Wendyty and her family. For those of you who do not know her she is fighting very hard right now. Please keep her and her family in your prayers as they are dealing with this.  Maybe you all can send her a card that her family can read to her. Remember laughter is the best medicine no matter what from it comes in. Sending you a healing hug Wendyty.

Well as for me I am super busy with packing up for the end of the school year. Only 4 more days then summer vacation. But who is counting....me. Then I am off to Boston for graduate school this summer. I am so excited to be doing this. So for you lovely ladies who are from the east coast I am looking for some great eatery to try while I am there. Please let me know what your favorites are so I can try them. It is kinda a funny as I am going to grad school in Boston and some of friends and family are going out there for vacation. Who knew :)) But it will be fun anyway.

Susan...thinking of you and your family and hope all is going well. Keeping you in my prayers.

Jackie...love the daily quotes...please keep them coming. You are our spiritual glue that gets us together. Thank you for all you do for us here. Hope all is well with you and Denny. Hope you are enjoying this warm weather.

Lago...have fun on your shopping trip. maybe you will run into Rene.:)) How is the job search going??

Joan... glad to see that you are healing nicely...back surgery is scheduled and healing will begin. soon you will be back to your old(new) self. Hope you are feeling better soon.

MGD...are you running a lot. I am signed up for the Chicago women run June 24 in Grant Park. Training has been slow due to my fx rib which is healing very slowly. Maybe I will see you there.

Adey / Lisa....how is the running doing girls. Maybe we can get together for a short run and then lunch in June before I leave. Let me know if you are interested. Or any one else who is a running girl.

Laura.....waving to you from a far. How are you? Lunch after school is out.

Well this is a quick hi to all. Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with your family and friends. Please keep our soldiers in your prayers this weekend. They are here fighting for us. God Bless them and keep them safe.
