by the way, where is Bama? Alabama? I never got around to developing a website - we only sold our work at art shows. I quit the raku ceramics after DH died as it was really a 2 person affair. Quit doing art shows too as I'm not able to set up the canopy, etc. alone and now on SSDI so must be very careful about income. I hope in time to make you all a piece of jewelry so put yer requests in now - fav colors in beads, fav color in chain. I don't use any precious stones or metal - just fun costume jewelry.

Well, the soul-food chicken cooking guy decided he wanted a place closer to his bizzness....can't blame him foah dat. BUT takes a lot of time meeting people and checking them out. We liked him though, but when DH went there today, there was NO ONE, and so we don't know if the biz will last very long.

Chrissy, Yeah, those g'kids can really make us feel old, huh! I think the oldest I ever felt was when i had my first g'kid. I looked young then...just in my 40's...BUT holding the baby against my face and looking in the mirror...oh my, my face looked so old compared to that nice soft babies face! They are wunnerful though, aren't they!

i am a wee bit late for pau hana, I been sitting in my own chit. not literally. I got a disturbing email at work at 5:30 and came home very upset. I had planned on staying at the office late and getting three refinance loans wrapped up this evening. So i leave work but needed gass. the attendent, a dude in a turban, hollared at me to move faster when I was checking my cash (the station charged more if you use credit/debit). I got so angry and left without getting gas all the while cursing out the attendent and calling him some very bad names. the name calling did not stop when I left either. I was on the highway at a traffic light screaming at him out my car window. I nearly left the gas station wtih the nozzle still in my car. ooops. he was an ass and deserved it. oh, I just told off a lady who called to ask me for donations for breast cancer and i asked her if she can help wtih my medical bills, I was not too nice and now feel bad. it is just that the world seems to be crashing in on me right now - it is all to do with my parents. my dad is being an ass and is refusing to move home, he just got out of rehab on thurs after fracturing his hip. he went to the doc today and was told no driving or walking for four weeks - the hip is still fractured and not healed like it should be. what does he do? he gets home and walks to the golf cart and takes off like a big baby. and this is while he and my mom, who has progressed terribly with the alzhimers, are under the supervisoin of my neice and nephew who drove over 600 miles to baby sit. I am going to drunk this drink down right now and come back with a smile. ohhhh dat better, tank you Pants. So Dad said that he won't come back to NJ because they do not having palm trees here. I was on the phone crying while talking to my sister and told her I wanted to call him and tell him we are done playing games. I told my sisters to have the kids just come the hell home and let HIM sit in his chit and clean up mom's chitty diaper. I was beyond furious with him. My sis did make me laugh when she told me that she told Dad thatt palm trees will not wipe my mothers ass. my Dad is worst than a two year old despite still having his mind in tact. meanwhile, ten of us here at home are trying to figure out what we are going to do with them when we get them here. it is not pretty.
Pants, bring me 14 tequillas, 26 chots of JD, a few buckets of dog beers and a hershey bar or two. tank you, dat is much better!

Shoot Dotty, ya know I thought of your parents before getting out of bed, and prayed for them and for your dad to agree to move to Jersey. I am so worried about them too, and of course like you said, it will be hard to figure out what you are going to do with them when they get there. BUT the important thing is to GET THEM THERE. Another idea....knowing he cannot take care of the two of them and can't even drive for a few wks....would it be a scare for him to think that social services or some other org. would come in and MAKE them move to an assisted living place or nursing home? I think if he realizes the gravity of the situation and that the options are NOT good if he stays put, then maybe he will give in. At least he knows all of you want them there, and want to be of help to them. Let's get that inflatable chapel blown up and get some more heavy-duty praying in, ok? Thank you to all my sweet chica's for the welcome home. I told you my DH didn't want to take any computers, well we got home, went out to the office yesterday morning, only to find out that someone had compromised our website. Took us all day to remove the infected files and then reload every page. There had to be at least 100 files and each one of those had 2 more files in them! I sure don't understand how people can be so cruel.
Lynda, seriously you are considering making us all something??? WOWSA! As for me and jewelry, I can't wear anything that has nickel in it, I'm allergic and will get a rash. Checking in with ya...I arrived safely last night..I missed my connecion in DFW but someone was pro active enough to have confirmed me on the next flight out so I actually got here only about 1/2 hour later than planned...I should have read the bull chit in Tampa when the gate agent said that I wold have no problem making my connection....Chit...I was a gate agent once and sold that crap to many a traveler. Its all good...Im here and Its fabulous!!!
Ohhh..(( Dorty )) ....I really feel terrible about your perdicament with your parents...There comes a time when you have to put your foot down I think and just say...Look ..this is what you need and not make it a choice...its just what has to happen. Hey....just a thought for our traveling girls..Im thinking that the airlines need to advertise that you need a credit card to order drinks onboard....rude awakening on my part...I went totally and completely sober all day and night yesterday and It pissed me off...!!! The only thing that made it was the company once I got here..and the dozen roses (she brought one to the airport)..and of course Brown Chicken Brown Cow.

OK my drinking has started--I haven't been drinking for over 20 yrs. So I have to start slowly. I did have a black cherry Mike hard lemonade stuff over lots of ice. Yummy to e=me--I will eventually move to wine (I think) but for now that was so good I didn't think I was drinking until I started walking around. LOL
And Goldie U do know I'm kidding about u being old. U'r all so young and beautiful and I feel so bad any of this happened to you, but selfishly I have to say i've been blessed meeting all of u-U always make me feel better about everything and make me laugh and I feel very comfortable ventin here, Altho I have met some very nice people on some of the other thread but they don't come here but they are so nice.
My cousin lives in MN and we grew up together almost same age--so we're still close but her sister (my cousin) lives in IL too and she had a heart transplant at 1AM this mornin all went well, but we were on the comper alot last night-Here she is in MN and she's telling me what's going on, but the family decided she would cuz she wasn't at the hospital--long nite praying alot. She had a battery for a heart and on the waiting list and it's such a shame someone has ro die for her to live. I used to say she had a heart of gold then she got the battery now who knows. I know I'm twisted in my mind. But remember my whole family is. BTW all u ladies are wonderful Thank you. I'll be in the lounge later with hard MIKE--like it hard. oops

Crazy afternoon and evening. I just got home and trying to scarf down some drinks and pizza. Was at the clinic for a couple of hrs tonight...turns out my dad now has Shingles...at 95....very painful. Wish he had told me he had the rash when it first showed up, but I knew what it was. My DD had it at 14, but much milder. Can't get his meds till in the ayem, so am hoping he can deal with the pain of it tonight. THEN, heard from Dorkie, and her parents ARE coming up, this THURSDAY, so she has a ton of stuff to do. Please keep them in your prayers...right now her dad thinks it is "temporary". Once he sees how everyone is going to help them, I bet he will be more apt to think of a permanent move.

Oohhh shingles are so painful and can last for weeks u'r poor dad--I'm sorry for him.
I am glad Dorks parents are coming--it's going to be difficult I know but it's best for them now.

Thanks, Cami. MY dad's sis (who is 97) is married to a man in his late 80's who has had shingles for YEARS. He has it so bad, has been hospitalized for it, plus came close to losing his eyesight. I am hoping my dad's case will not be as bad! When he told the dr he had the vaccine last yr, she sorta laughed and said it really only works abut 25% of the time. Aarrgghhhhhh. I was thinking of getting the vaccine, but read where it can GIVE you shingles sometimes, too. Verdict still out on that...
Glad you are able to drink now, Cami. And Juliet, I think you can drink in a day or two? I sure scarfed down my drinks at my late happy hour....while in the clinic, I kept pretending I was mixing my mom a drink and handing it to her. I think thats what they hated the most about being there so long...they missed happy hour! lol.
