I have my first post-exchange appointement today. I'm nervous ! I hope I will not be disappointed with the size and the look of the girls !

Skibunny-My PS suggested Newgel silicone scar strips. I used them for 5 months after my DMX and they have done wonders. Really a superior product for great results. The strips not only gets rid of redness, but also it smooths out any lumps or bumps. Here is the website to order: www.newgelplus.com. I have a coupon code that might work also: 7613. I used to be a double D also. I have my exchange Feb. 5 and I am scared that I will have the same reaction as you do. I am so sorry for your disappointment. I hope they do indeed drop and fill out. I know exactly what you mean about people looking at your once busty chest. Best wishes!

Being nervous must be part of this gig. I was maybe a B+ before and I am terrified that I will be as huge as these expanders and that people will stare at my chest and think I just had a "boob job." I look at them and talk about them all the time. I've even measured them a few times to be sure they're as equal as possible. DH says I'm more obsessed with breasts than he ever was. Lol.
Here's hoping we all even out in the wash!0 -
Skibunny,
Do you know the brand, style and size of your implants? There is a great thread here about sizing. It may encourage you to find other women with your kind of implants and see what their end results were. I've noticed many who hate them at first actually end up quite happy after 3 months or so.0 -
Annemarieh,
Talked with clinical coordinator and we are going to go with the Allergan gummies so I'm hoping my exchange will finally be on the 12 th of Febuary ...having my finger crossed though not getting my hopes up though looks promising. Told her if the sientras are still not available then they are not meant to be.. So heres for hoping...0 -
Sherry67!!!! WHO OOT!!! I'm happy you are getting where! I know I was set on the Sientras too, but we are going with the Allergan HP style 20's. Thats because of the radiated skin. Sooooo happy for you! If you go on the 12th, you are 6 days after me! Good luck girl!! Keep us posted!!!

Annemarie, why are the Allergens better for radiated skin? I worry a lot about it.

Yay Sherry!

Grier.... That's great! I'm having nipple envy! Glad they are headed in the right direction:) Wish my PS would have reconstructed mine at the exchange. You're going to have a great outcome!

Andrea~Sorry....The Sientras are not good for MY ratiated skin..Sorry if I made it sound the other way around! OOPS!

Annemarie, I am only 5 weeks out from rads, so I won't even be eligible for exchange till late summer/early fall. I'm really worried about complications because of the rads. I've had 2 plastic surgeons tell me I'm not a good candidate for flaps, cause of lack of fat (which I vehemently disagreed), so implants are my only choice. I bounce back and forth between doing implants or just decontructing altogether, which I know would not make me happy. I hate my choices! How does your radiated skin look?

Awww, thanks Obxflygirl1
I'm sure once everything is done, you'll have a great outcome too. I plan on posting pics soon to the picture forum so will let you gals know once I do. I love the OBX. My hub and I got married there in 2002 and rent a house in Southern Shores almost every summer - very special place for us. I'm so happy that you its beauty surrounding you. Walking the beaches brought me a lot of peace and comfort after getting diagnosed this year. I can't wait to go back with a fresh new lease on life.0 -
GRIER.... We live on the sound side right at the bridge; can practically see Southern Shores from our dock! Please let's keep in touch when you come back this way. Would love to have you come, go boating or sailing...or just sit by the water with a bottle of vino:). Annemarieh and a group of her friends are coming to OBX this summer and I hope to meet up with them.
My diagnosis was August 14,2012 ....so close to yours. It still feels so fresh and unreal. Will I ever not be so full of fear?0 -
Welcome, ssc19!!! Hopefully by now you’ve had your exchange and are resting comfortably.
Merlcat – How are you doing?
Annmarie – My TEs were filled to 620ccs. Yeowch! I had to go back to sleeping on my side for that last few weeks. Congrats on getting your date!
JamieB86 – my new Myofascial Massage Therapist says the same thing about reconstructed nipples and nipple tattoos: One the brain sees a nipple where it’s supposed to be, pretty much everything just fades away, including scars. So glad that’s happening to you!
CindyLooWho – Yep! Certifiable!!! That’s me!
Jill47 – I need to call my PS and ask if his office registered my implants. I never knew you were supposed to do that!!! Yay on getting those drains out!!!
Skibunny – your PS should tell you when it’s o.k. to start massaging the implants. Mine is pretty blasé about it…he just says do it in the shower while I’m all soapy, and massage them UP and TOGETHER….in other words, against gravity. But you need to wait til everything heals inside….
Also, once you are cleared to wear underwire bras, please go for a professional bra fitting from a certified mastectomy bra fitter. They know exactly how a bra should fit over implants. If you are having difficulty filling a regular sized cup in a bra, try one that is constructed with three parts. These are usually more expensive, but you aren’t required to buy anything. You can also try “Minimizer” bras. This doesn’t mean you want to minimize your size, but rather those bras are made with shallower cups than regular bras. Unless you have had nipple and areola recon, your breast mound will always be shallower than before. There’s a great thread here regarding bras.
Dulcigirl – hope your runny nose was just a fluke, and that you are feeling better already.
Grier – Congrats on the great Squishy and Nipple News!
Loulou – can’t wait to hear how your appointment went!!!
Sherry67 – An actual DATE to look forward to!!! WOOT!

I made it!! Yahoo!
Anesthesia and the narcotics that went with it were NOT my friends! I had a terrible sore throat after they took out the breathing tube and the narcotic pain killers during surgery made me dizzy sick and I barfed profusely in recovery, which took waaaay longer than it should have
BUT once I got home, slept, iced my reduced and lifted boob, and took some mucinex to help break up the ick that was coating my throat,.......
I ve needed to pain killers but when I spoke to PS last night, she suggested I take Tylenol anyway( actually suggested Motrin but since I'm allergic) just for the antiinflamitory properties... Don't need it for pain and she even told me she did more work on the mx side than originally intended. My lipo site just feels bruised but its not bad...
I even took a shower this morning- pure heaven....needed my husband to help me get back into my compression pants bleck and wrap the ace bandage around my boobs....mx side is SOFT! Yay!0 -
Merlcat, let me be the first to congrat you on your new and refined breasts! Woe sounds like you had a lot more complicated surgery and recovery than planned, I'm so sorry about that. Today and tomorrow may be difficult but you should be feeling much better after that. Rest, rest, rest. When do you see your PS next?

MAYBE this will help exchanges going forward who tend to get sick like Mericat and me..
Mericat. .....so sorry you were sick afterwards. I had the same at BMX....terrible. At exchange. I talked to anesthesiologists. She said it was the gas (tube down throat) that did most people in. She was going to try to sedate me heavily through vein enough to do exchange and they also put one of those motion sickness patches behind my ear. She said if I started to move around on the table (what the h...?) then they would have to use the throat tube. I don't remember a thing and they didn't have to use gas. Relief not to be sick afterwards. Good luck all:)0 -
I made It too!
The anti dizziness patch they gave me made me horribly sick, so that, with the worst migraine of the century made last night HELL. I honestly wanted to die.
Now the GOOD news...the girls are slightly sore, but not bad.
She lowered the right a bit and moved them a little closer. The TEs were hitting that icky underarm fat and was not pretty.
She had the hospital order the Botox, and said it usually kicks in to full effect on day three. I must say the horrible tightness is gone! A little tight now but it's different, not the iron bra.
She ended up using the Allergan 45, 700 cc smooth implants. They take up a lot of real estate on my chest, but I was so small before I will have to get used to it. The projection from the side view is nice. Not flat like the TEs, I think once they settle in I will be very happy. 😃 they are still firm, but not hard. How long before they soften up?
DH and I checked them out this morning and he says much better than the TEs. they actually bounced a little when I came upstairs before! Woo hoo
See ps at 2:00.
Glad you are all doing well.
SHERRY I am soooooo happy for you. You have waited long enough!0 -
YAHOO ....CINDYLOOWHO. !!!! It's only going to get better!
0 -
Congratulations Cindy!!!! You made it....been thinking of you, your TE journey was like mine...it's sucked major a**. Take it easy during recovery, take the pain meds if you hurt, this recovery is so much better and faster than bmx. Hugs, Jill

Just called my boss and told her I'm coming back to work next Friday. My std is approved until 2/13, but I am so ready.
The last two weeks I have cleaned and organized very drawer and closet in this entire house....I might bored. Lol0 -
Wanna talk bored?! Now that I don't feel like crap from anesthesia and the narcotics they gave me during surgery, I feel great and want to do stuff but have to behave so I heal...I've resorted to Facebook and, bleck, daytime tv- it's 19 degrees and we are expecting snow later today. In accordance with the lameness of Maryland drivers in inclement weather( most of them anyway) our schools are closing 90 minutes early....
0 -
Oh let me give you the run down on the tv I have discovered since I have been on std which started 10/23.
Say yes to the dress
Four weddings
American gypsies
Millionaire matchmaker (addicted)
Long island medium
Beverly hills brides
I draw the line at honey boo boo...I mean I have standards!
Really cold here too and we are expecting the same snow. I have spent a fortune on pay per view movies and kindle books.0 -
Lol I need all the help I can get regarding tv...it plucks my nerves to surf through all those zillion channels of crap to find something 1/2 decent....I hear ya on the honey boo boo thing- I've only seen a few minutes of that painful godawful show- that was more than enough! Lol

Cindy and Merl! Thought I was the only one sitting in the recliner watching these shows...I really like say yes to the dress! My cousin got picked for Four weddings, but then decided against it, was afraid she would'nt enjoy her day! I am totally addicted to HGTV...Kitchen Cousins...House Hunters International...Absolutly NO food network!! (then I eat all day)

I watch those too Anne Marie!
And The Chew, Rachel, The Talk and Katie!
And words with friends!0 -
LOL!!! If I don't get out of this house....

I hear ya Annemarie - those fod channel shows can be dangerous....all this sitting on my butt being bored is NOT good for my figure... I want to stay the same size and NOT need to go buy a ton of new jeans in addition to all the new bras Im pretty sure that I'll need....
