Thanks everyone.....I am just thrilled....so thrilled I could not take a nap....after being in bed for an hour and a half wide awake....I know I am going to crash....but when?
I found they used bandages with adhesive & was getting itchy(I am allergic to most tape too) and had to call and talk to the surgical nurse and she told me to take it off...so only a few steri strips is all I have on the incisions, and sterile 3x3 pads that pad the wound from the "LOVELY SPECIAL bra and held on only by my bra
Lisa Jayne.....I had Orient beach envy
a few weeks ago (LOVE the water there!
Oh, I mean St Maarten ) oh do I want a vacation....almost booked a online deal for an all inclusive in St Maarten (French side)How is Angielee doing?
Anyone PM the lady that never came back....the missing one?

Has anyone asked the Moderators to reach out to Annemarie? I know they have reached out before. Is anyone friends with her on FB or twitter?

Oh how exciting for Di and Peanutsgal. That sounds so wonderful to feel instant relief. I cant wait. Im going this Thursday and may get a surgery date but I doubt it because I think I would have to have a double fill and I dont want to make that mistake again. lol.
Christina, Fippy and 2nd time, I can only imagine how excited you are. Best of luck to you and praying for happy results.
Healing hugs to all

Wow..Peanuts and Di. I can't believe how fast your exchanges went and you feel so good. That is so encouraging for the rest of us waiting in line to hear. Can't wait!! Hope you were able to get some sleep. I don't even know what that is anymore!
Peanuts...Sorry about your loss!
Good luck to those upcoming exchanges. So jealous!!0 -
Best wishes for Christinabelle, tomorrow.
No rest for the weary here today. Got home from the surgery center today to find 6 roofers putting a new roof on the house. Of course I was drowsy from the pain meds, but every time they would drop a set a shingles on the roof, I would jump and hurt myself so what did my wonderful husband do? Packed me up in the car and took me for some retail therapy! Felt really good to walk around. Spent the evening with his parents side of the family and came home. Really like the softness of the implants, but from what I can see I am not going to be thrilled with my first results. Ended up with a nice big puckered spot in my cleavage. Really, really hope it evens out. Dr. told me to take the ace wrap off tomorrow, shower and wear any type of bra I am comfortable in. I don't look particularly swollen so am looking forward to wearing a normal bra again.(Never in a million years would I have thought those words would've ever left my mouth!). Have only worn camisoles while I was in the TE's. The pain from this surgery is nothing like the BMX. Really glad I went ahead with the surgery and that I feel we'll enough to attend both the viewing tomorrow and the funeral Wednesday. Thanks again to everyone for your well wishes and concern for my family. We lost an amazing 87 yo lady and I miss her already!
So happy you had an easy go of it also, Di2012. Like you, I was very alert within an hour of coming home and felt ready to get up and go. I know I will really have to watch myself going forward because I feel so good. It would so easy to overdo it at the moment.
Melmcbee, I hear ya on the double fill thing! I had 100cc's at a time and it was WAY TOO MUCH! Looking back, though, I was really glad to get it all behind me.
To all those waiting, time will fly and you will feel so relieved when the rocks get taken off your chest!0 -
Peanutsgal... Wow! You did all that after having surgery the same day? Up walking around? You set the bar really high for the rest of us! Try not to overdo, it's so easy to do, especially since you already have a busy week. Hang in there! Hoping you and the girls get better each day and you're pleased with the results.
Christinabelle... Hoping an easy day for you tomorrow!0 -
It's so exciting to hear such good news!

Thanks for the advice on radiation and exchange, Sherry67. I appreciate it.
Christinabelle- GOOD luck!
And congrats to those who just went through the big exchange, I am sure looking forward to it.0 -
Hi Estepp- if you are still checking the board, I saw that you had radiation after the real implants (not on TEs, with exchange later). My PS is suggesting this option. Do you think it was a good decision? Are you doing ok?

Hi Ladies, well my TE replacement surgery was scheduled for today but my surgeon is currently at Mass General working on the victims of the bombing so my surgery is postponed. I was having my surgery in Boston; my husband wanted to surprise me with an overnight stay on the Charles in Boston the night before my surgery so we were right there when the bombs went off. We didn't actually see anything except police and people running everywhere but we didn't know what it was about - we were driving by on the way to the hotel. We didn't know what we saw until the hotel lobby had CNN on TV showing the tragedy. Absolutely heartbreaking to witness...

Cristinabelle: So sorry your surgery is postponed due to this mindless violence. Kudos to your doc for helping during an emergency situation. It's gotta be a mixed plate of emotions for you today, huh? I hope you can get rescheduled as quickly as reasonably possible.

Thank you Sweetandspecial. Yes, I feel guilty about being sooo dissappointed about missing my surgery today. I was actually on my way in when they called. But, of course, I'm thankful to be alive and healthy. I will be calling tomorrow to reschedule. Stay tuned...

sorry cristina...I know you are bummed..sorry about postponing..and understand..ofcourse you would be disappointed..lord we are all anxious here to get TEs out!!! I hope for a quickie reschedule.. hope you are doing okay..

So sorry, Cristina, but your attitude is amazing. Hope you get rescheduled very soon. What a wonderful doctor you have (and hubby).
So happy to read the reports of the newly exchanged ladies! Congrats, and excited hugs for those about to get yours. Hang in there.
P.S. For any of you who doubt this or are worried about your TEs being too small or underfilled-- I just looked at pictures of myself before exchange and then some I recently took since my exchange. I am so much bigger now! I also have better shape and good cleavage now (my TEs were too far apart). Hope that gives hope to the ones who said they were worried about being too small. All I had to do was ask, so make sure your PS knows what you want!0 -
Cristinabelle....So so sorry for your postponment.....I am sure you are disappointed, and rightfully so!!!!!

What a tragedy for those just watching a race, never know when, where, why the whackos will hurt other people....it is JUST WRONG!

I tried to schedule my revision surgery for JULY, yesterday after I got home from my exchange surgery, but the surgery scheduler was gone and then today scheduler did not how much time was needed, so my PS will be in the office tomorrow so I will not know when until tomorrow or the next day when my revision will be, so I can begin my countdown.....can you tell I really what the ENTIRE process, done and over?
Di
I really haven't needed pain pills, but wanted to take a nap today and knew I would need "help" so I took 2 today...this surgery was soooooo easy....

Di... So good to hear you're doing so well so quickly, it's amazing! Hopefully, revision can be scheduled in the near future and the desired results are worth the wait.
Cristinabelle, so sorry for the postponement, even worse for the cause. Hope they catch the person(s) responsible quickly. While its a difficult situation for you, I hope there's some relief that your surgeon has a sense of priorities (not to mean you're not important, but life/death/disaster requires a higher priority).
Fippy, wishing the best for your exchange!0 -
Cristinabelle, sorry for your delay but I am glad that you and your husband are safe. your husband - and your doctor - both sound great,
I hope you can reschedule soon after the poor people hurt in the bombing are taken care of. Crazy world these days. My heart goes out to them -and to all of you!0 -
Oh, BLESS YOU ALL!!! I will be in this GROUP officially soon--most likely end of May/begin. of June! I get so excited just reading about you all!!!!!
I actually pray for this group daily...:)Violet_1

My first official post after lurking for a while. So glad to have found this sight and you girls, it's been a little less lonely of a journey. I am scheduled for my right side TE exchange surgery on May 28 and am starting to have some concerns about augmentation and lift on my healthy left side. Just found out that it involves some serious incisions and scarring. I am greatly concerned with loss of sensation/nerve damage in this healthy breast. I'd really appreciate any of you sharing your experiences.
My thanks to all you courageous women who have traveled this road and been kind enough to share your difficulties and victories. You have given me strength and helped me to dig deep and ask more questions. I am forever grateful.0 -
Sorry, just realized how to edit my profile to make diagnosis public! Just one of the reasons I hesitated to post, not great at e-communication!

Welcome Leahv,
We had our DX the same day (how to ruin the holidays....huh?)
Lots to learn and a bunch of really nice ladies here.....we will be here for you.....

I was told I could shower 48 hours after my surgery on Monday, and I was counting the minutes....oh did it feel good....Had to work with alcohol swabs for a while to get all that purple marking ink off my new "foobs"....still in my "shar pei" crease.

I am even wearing a top without an opening in the front (slipover) didn't bother me at all lifting my arms to get it on.
Trying to figure out how to post the picture of my former TE's which my OR nurse photographed, after they were deflated (popped and saline removed) I was really ready to give up on them the first couple weeks they were in me, so now that picture is "my badge of courage"

Welcome Leahv, we're so glad you found us! This site has been a real source for saving my sanity over the course of my journey. I just wish I had found it before my BMX rather than 4 weeks after. I can't address your concerns about the healthy breast but I'm sure someone else will chime in soon.

Leahv & Violet... Welcome - great support here! Like others, I wish I had found this before mx, it's been so helpful.
Peanuts, Di, Jdevonm.... How's the recovery going? Peanuts, I have a friend who's having her exchange next week (she's not on BCO), told her your story about your exchange day - out and about the same day - you eased her mind about what to expect.
Sure love the experience and support this group provides! I refuse to freak out before surgery, you all made it look so much easier than mx!0 -
Here's one for the books! I was on the operating table to get TEs out & my new implants in. The ps checks the CBC which I had 3 days earlier and says my WBC too low (2.7) to go ahead. It had been going back up toward normal, but instead did a u-turn. We don't know why. I'm 4 months post chemo and feeling great. Running/walking miles every day. Anyway, surgery on hold. I was sent home.
So bummed out. The TEs have been in for 9 months.
Neulasta can't fix this. The plastic surgeon is placing a foreign object in my body. My immune system needs to be normal & not bouncing up and down--from 6 to 2.7 to 3.6 back to 2.7 Apparently this is not uncommon post chemo.
