Bayou: I do so hope you get your wish.  The only real asymmety I could complain about is that righty (cancer side) is just slightly less robust than lefty.  I'm the only one that would ever notice.  My current cleavage is just really nice, they don't touch each other by any means but my TEs are of a size and fullness (750cc) and they're close enough together to where the cleavage is nice, rounded perk Smile.  I must say that I think my PS did a fabulous job with TE placement.  Even Whippetmom said they looked fantastic when I email her a photo.  I had my worries and doubts up until then but when Whippetmom gave her stamp of approval I was just tickled pink.

Bayou Babe & Sweetandspecial - it’s great to have exchange sisters to wait this out with!

Sweetandspecial: Sounds like you had a really great result with your TE’s - even cleavage! Except for the pit thing, mine were pretty good too - having fairly even height and shape. I feel pretty fortunate how smoothly this has gone for me.

BayouBabe: I can see having to deal with such unevenness would get tiresome! Thank goodness we are so close to the great swap out. My PS assures me he will get my ladies moved over where they belong too. I guess this means we will need more pocket work than some…dang. But I’m pretty sure even with that, this surgery/recovery will be a lot easier than the first. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.

Sherry, so glad it went smoothly for you today!

I imagine it'll be hard to sleep tonight but boy oh boy the wait is finally almost over...YAY!!!!  Your BMX was 2 months earlier than mine so wow, you've been living with TEs for 10 months!  May God go with you and keep you and your caregivers in the palm of his hand tomorrow KissKissKissKiss

Sherry- great to hear all went well, rest and heal.

Andrea- good luck tomorrow, yea the waiting is almost over, I think that is the worst, recovery will be better.

The rest of us wait our turn, patiently, or not! I really hate these TEs! Some days I just have more discomfort other days not too bad but lots of stress recently has caused more pain. Noticed left one has dropped a little and more under my arm. One day at a time! Many HUGS!

violet 1,I would call the PS right now! I was somewhere in CA last Oct when mine went into cap cont. If they start the asthma meds soon enough they can stop it. If it goes into full fledged cap,you will need more surg.  Hope the foobs behave for you.  I got my new ones and very  nervous if these will contract...Undecided

Hi Violet, I agree with Layla: I'd get checked out NOW. If your PS says its normal, there's your peace of mind. If not, better to know early to take appropriate action. My PS says it typically takes 3-4 months for our foobs to finish settling.

Layla2525 - can you give me more detail around your comment about starting asthma meds to prevent contracture? I ended up with a seroma and then contracture about 5 weeks post-exchange and have had 2 more surgeries since 6/12/13 as a result. I am very concerned about it possibly happening again, especially after reading that yours happened with mentor implants. I have one style 45 allergan on left and a mentor uhp on right (from exchange, removed 6/12/13, and as a replacement on 6/27/13 - right happens to be cancer side). So far, no issues w/allergan implant on left (and sooooo hoping that remains the case).

    Thanks!

    Sharon

I finally have a date for my exchange but it seems so far away still. August 16th is the big exchange date. Can't wait to get this phase behind me.

The awful TEs are gone forever! My exchange took 3 hours. I look like a mummy, and feel like I have been beaten with a bat. Threw up on the way home, despite having anti-nausea drugs in my IV.

I see the PS tomorrow for the big unveiling, and am trying to keep my expectations realistic, since everyone says they'll look like flattened hamburger buns.
    And I itch!

    Back to napping now!

Oh Andrea 623, congratulations!!!   You just do that nap and take it easy.  Hope the unveiling goes well Smile.

TLR: Congrat on the exchange date!  You should PM Mykidsmom so you can get added to the list at the top of this page so everyone can be excited for you and anticipate with youKiss

Andrea - great you're home. I hope your unveiling goes well tomorrow! Laughing

TLR - well you are exactly 2 weeks after me - I'm August 2. I know it seems so far off when you first get your date. Now that I'm 3.5 weeks out (but who's counting) it suddenly is starting to feel like it is coming soon, and not way off in the future anymore.

TLR-it is so good to get the surgery date set! We were in the March surgery thread and here we are waiting on exchange. Time is moving quickly yet not fast enough in some ways. You will be done before you know it and I will be following in Sept. It is the waiting and anticipation that is the worst, yet knowing this will be easier than my bmx/lat flap recon is reassuring.

Hope all recent exchanges are feeling well with pleasing results!

Rose63: I agree.  Exchange surgery has just been this far-off, distant, sometime in the next several months kind of date and now I'm 27 days away all of a sudden!  I'm looking forward to it, all except the 2 drain tubes my PS says I'll have for 5 days (dammit!) Frown.  And I've promised myself not to have my expectations too unrealistic for the appearance immediately after surgery and to just give it time.  I've been pretty patient so far, another several weeks or months is just a drop in the bucket in the great scheme of things.

Lisa Jayne: my surgery is 3wks from tomorrow, so now I'm looking forward to the day AFTER tomorrow, cause then I can say my surgery is '2plus' weeks out! lol. But doesn't that sound closer?Laughing

I too have been told that I will have drains again, but only 2 this time and fewer days, so OK, if that's what we need to do. Lets just do it.

I did start off intense it felt great

3 weeks I asked PS for more pain pills from workouts

She said to go to primary they gave me some

Orange73 - have you had any PT? You might want to ask for a referral. These muscles work in a whole new way due to surgery and implants. I just finished up 4 months of PT and it was truly a life saver! I will probably need a few more sessions after exchange.

Orange73 - as good as it feels to be back working out and pushing your body, you might want to scale down your workout a bit at first and work to the capability of the weakest muscle.

I have a real problem doing this too! But I have found that if I cut my workout about in half, and increase it by another 10% or so each workout, I can bring the body back quickly and without too much discomfort.
