I have a long ridge across the top of my left foob. It feels like there is something under the skin. If feels like the size of a tube or something running under the skin. It's about 4 inches in length. It does hurt a little when I press on it and you can see it through the skin. Has anyone heard of or had anything like this?

    Chinneymae,

It sounds like scar tissue, which should flatten over time....

I had a "rope" from under foobs (out under arms) on the side ribs, but it has flatten completely on one side and almost gone on the other.   (I used Scar Away strips,  sure has helped my scars, amazing stuff)

    Pressing on it does hurt!

Di: I sure hope that's all it is. My DH and I were wondering if it could be the drain tube, but I haven't heard of one being on the top of the boob. How long did it take for yours to flatten out? Can you get the scar away strips from the local drug stores?

Sherry my PS stressed to my DH to let me know to give at least 3-6 months for everything to settle. Once they drop and fluff, maybe they will look more even. If not, then you will have to decide if she should do some touch up or maybe some fat grafting to even them out. You deserve to be happy and get what you want after all you've been through. (Hugs)

    Chinneymae,

I had my revision surgery on July 15....I only had drains for My BMX and they curled around....no drains on my other THREE surgeries.

If your "rope" is curved my guess would be the  drain but a straight bump I would GUESS scar tissue.....just my opinion.

Scar away can be purchased at drug stores (it was around $20 for 8 strips....I cut them in half.....and they are reusable & washable

Chimneymae, had my exchange surgery on 8/20. Had a gosh awful ridge on the inside edge. Mine turned out to be the alloderm. My PS took my drain out last Thursday....it must have push the edge of the alloderm up. It is gone now. No ridge!! Maybe you have the same thing!

Mine is male too. He's kinda laid back and does listen to what I have to say. He kept saying he would put in a smaller implant than the TE, but I told him what I wanted. He didn't show it if he was upset, but I didn't really care. I told him I didn't want to have to go through this twice. I wanted to be happy the first time. Whippetmom on the Breast Implant Sizing 101 site told me what would look best for my frame and that's what I told him I wanted. He told my DH that he put in what I wanted and I will definitely find out for sure when I go back on Thursday. :)

I just don't understand why these Drs. want to do it their way when they work for us. If they feel it's not safe then they need to say so, otherwise do it they way you want it done.

Di: It is curved around the top of my breast. I hope it's not anything that has to be opened back up for. Praying for drains or either scar tissue that will go away.

jlow: That's good to hear, maybe mine will go away too when the drains come out.

Thanks, guys, I'm feeling somewhat better now.

Sherry - My right breast (cancer side) is slightly smaller than lefty but it's not noticeable to anyone but me (and my DH when I specifically point it out and ask him to confirm what I think I'm seeing Smile) and then only when I'm naked.  It was that way during expansion too.  I think it's because there was an extra excision of tissue from that side during the BMX.  Surgeon explained they have to excise the needle path from the biopsy site to make sure any stray cancer cells left behind when withdrawing the biopsy needle are removed.

I didn't think of it til just now but I probably should have asked for a little extra fill on that side to even it out.

I hope as things continue to relax and settle that the size issue becomes less of a concern for you Kiss.

Sweetandspecial ,I know your right that has been my issue since the expanders..PS knows this...they said due to Rad but I know of others who had a bigger implant placed to the rad side but most PS don't like working with rad skin...

Ah, see, I keep forgetting about rads because I didn't have to go through that.  That makes more sense than my tissue excision.

Exchange booked for Sept 11, 2013, BMX was Jan 11, 2013 -really starting to dislike the 11th. Happy to almost be free from TE hell but worried about the outcome. What if the pain/iron bra thing doesn't let up? What if they can't fix my Frankenboobs? (What I call my Frankenstein-looking foobs). I thought I was done with the hard part, the BMX but this seems to be causing just as much or more anxiety and worry. Counting down with trepidation.

Sherry, I have a Natrelle 325 round in my left side, and a 350 in my right rads side. The rads side still is smaller, and is not shaped as nice as the other side. It's got a flat area on the side and a puffy area on the upper right edge. I don't think I could have gone any larger, as the skin seems tight and it looks like I may have a stretch mark developing. Plus the incision is healing a lot slower than the other side. I really don't think it looks very good, but am hoping within a few months it'll look better. My PS said he also removed a lot of scar tissue; did your's? I think because of that and the rads, my right side will never match the left.

AnnaCanada, I was pretty anxious before my exchange too, but honestly, it was a lot easier than my bmx. I had the iron bra for months after the bmx, and had a bit of it after exchange, but nothing like it was before.

I have to laugh, I call my new girls my Frankenboobies too!

AnnaCanada - my exchange was also loads better than the BMX/TE placement. No pain meds needed post-surgery at all.  Implants (mine are silicone) are ever so much softer and more relaxed than the TEs.  And by softer I mean like a much younger woman with firm breasts type of soft - not soft like my pre-BMX aging, drooping, somewhat pendulous breasts.  You may have a total clearing of the iron bra sensation and you may not.  I'm not 'aware' of my implants in the same way I was aware of the rigid TEs 24/7, but I am still consistently aware of them to a lesser extent.  I'm only about three and a half weeks post-exchange, though, so I imagine that will resolve somewhat over time.  They're not uncomfortable. I just know they're 'there', if that makes sense.

My iron bra is so intense I got into the shower this morning and started to jump out again because I thought I forgot to take my sport bra off!!!!  Ugh. I can't wait for exchange, and I pray and pray that the feeling will go away. I liken to water torture.  You can only take so much, and you will go insane.

    Andrea623,

I have Allergan 410 640's I had Seintras 550HP before. Like the allergan much better I'm going to see if maybe he could do some fat grafting to make the rad side a little more fuller will see because I'm still debating on having my nipples done ..BS left my aerolas just made them smaller so I don't need them...

Chinneymae - The drain tubes can be amazingly long.  It seems way too early to be thinking scar tissue, didn't you just have your exchange?  Sounds like some swelling went down so the drains are a bit more visible and palpable now.  Hang in there and don't worry!

    OMG Goldie4040 - I couldn't agree more!

Hi - new to this topic.  I am 2 mos out from a BMX, and just starting the fill process.  Most of the day, I am fine.  But there are moments this iron bra, makes me absolutely insane!  Feel like I just can't handle it one more minute!!

So, starting to research implants, to help me feel a little better.

    Pity party over :0)

TinaT: After getting out of the shower, I felt it and it does feel like it may be a drain tube. I'm just gonna wait til I go back for my one week post-op on Thursday. Thanks for the encouragement. :)

I could feel the drain tubes after my bmx and expander placement. I knew exactly where they were, and I could actually see the outline of one through the skin.

Boatingirl - hang in there!  Believe it or not it IS possible to get used to the TEs.  Mine were more comfortable the fuller they got, and I had them 9 months be the time I exchanged.   Even though you're 8 weeks out your pecs are still screaming 'what the f*** did you do to me??!!'

I am wondering what others have experienced in regards to changes after the exchange.  How much "fluff" is to be expected?  I am measuring larger than I was pre mx but I dont think that they look as big. I was expecting more projection.  It has only been a week so I know things will change.  Thoughts?

I'm on the other side of all these surgeries, and am one week post exchange. I have the 410 teardrop gummy bears in size 580 high projection implants. I'm big right now but swelling is abating. I can say these feel softer than TEs, but I still have a tightness around my ribcage. Hoping this will loosen up soon.

I had TEs for 16 months...good riddance. Even with this tightness, this is much better than those expanders!

Goldie4040, I also saw the drain tubes under my skin after both TE placements. They left an indentation on my expanders that took a few days to resolve. No drains at exchange surgery.Yay!!

Goldie4040 and ndroby: I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I go for my post-op appt. if it is the drain tube or something else. I really hope that's all it is and it will go away.

I really look about the same in my clothes post-exchange as I did pre-BMX but when I look at my breasts now I also feel they seem smaller in comparison to the real thing.  I think it's just a matter of placement and distribution differences, plus the lack of nipples that add that final little bit of projection that's now missing.  The implants are firmer, wider and pretty stationary where my natural breasts were, of course, drooping with age and pendulous if, ahem, I was on my hands and knees naked (think girl on top here.....lol).  When they were hiked up into a Victoria's Secret push-up bra (36D), however, my shape was apparently very similar to what I have now because my clothes look virtually the same, even sheath dresses which are quite fitted.  The two non-wired bras I picked up from Nordstroms to get me through are 36DD, although when I go back for UWs I'd like to try a 38 band instead. The 36s feel too snug but aren't unbearable.  I'll also check at VS to see what I might take in the same style bra I wore before.

btw, the whole drain-tube thing of being a rope or snake-like appearance under the skin would have totally freaked me out.  Kudos to you ladies who are living with that!
