I had a really hard time with TCH, too, moonflower.  My dose had to be reduced and I stopped at 4.  The taxol study is indeed good news for those who qualify for it and follow us!

wow. I've been off quite a while. Missed a lot. First let me wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hit the delete button for 2013 and going forward. My son and his new girlfriend came to visit and them I was in sunny Florida seeing my mom. At 92 she's hanging in. Her nhl tumor shrunk so it's a wait and see, my sister finished radiation and is fine. So as I said I hit the delete key. They checked my ovaries so far so good. The big deal for me I'm skiing again. No blacks. Taking it very slow and cAreful. But really enjoy seeing my friends. Total strangers who heard just come up & hug me. (Strange since I'm not a hugger). Will have my echo next week. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can finish out the herceptin   That's it for me. I wish everyone the best. Now I have go back and catch up on everyone.

Welcome Nichole, you are absolutely beautiful and your hair is coming in so fast!  To all, dye your hair whenever.  I can't see how it can hurt, but Bren is right, maybe do a semi-permanent color so you can see what color your hair actually is.  I was always an auburn brown and came back with black and grey.  Go figure...

Dance, you made my night!  My MO was so hesitant to take me off of TCH but my first treatment almost killed me.  So he finally decided on 12 weekly taxols with herceptin.  I'm so glad to know that works!!!  Happy

Yay Pbrain!  That data is really just so fantastic and encouraging to look at.  I just love it when we have good news to share with each other!  I remember how awful your first treatment was.  I wish I had gone for the taxol but my onc talked me out of it.  Oh well, I made it through!

susanHG - so sorry you have a shooting situation I your town too - I live a couple of miles from the movie theater where the wackjob ex-cop shot the guy texting during the previews - don't know what the world is coming to!

nichole - you look fabulous!  I colored my hair at about 4-5 months PFC and put highlights back in a couple of months later.  My hairdresser made me wait until I had enough hair for her to work with - otherwise she said it was akin to painting my head!

camillegal - your pic reminded me of the commercial for Geico - Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike - guess what day it is? I linked it for anyone who hasn't seen it.  Love the camel.

Lago, that’s good to know re if you’re highly er/pr+ the
tamox is more likely to work, seems to imply that
those who need it the most should be getting the most efficacy about it.  My mom, who had bc back in 1972, was
    apparently on something – raloxifen?
Something like that. Related to tamox.
She’s been on it for years and years, I think maybe someone didn’t get
the memo that she didn’t need to be on it forever.  She does have osteoporosis, hmmm.  Anyway she has never recurred and she’s 85
    now.

Cami, Moon that is really shitty.  Pun intended.
    Sorry!  Have you tried looking
into any dietary, alternative medicine, etc. stuff for it?  I think those things can be helpful for
chronic type issues and imbalances, so might be worth a shot.

I don’t feel like I am having a lot of problems with the
tamox.  I do have a fair amount of creaky
bones/achiness/arthritis symptoms, but nothing debilitating.  I do exercise a lot though.  Mostly swimming, which is low impact of
    course.

Pbrain, your sim was totally different than mine.  But I concur, not painful usually.  (It was super painful for me b/c they put me
in some bizarre position that hurt b/c of a car accident injury from 2009, but
    that is obviously just me.)

    Ben, wow!  Thanks for
posting that article about the research on metastacized cancer cells.  That is really encouraging.  I hope
that turns into a treatment soon!

Ok the dog/cat thing was hilarious, but this is an odd set
of dogs.  My dogs aren’t the slightest
bit scared of cats, and in fact would be ecstatic to have the opportunity to
kill a cat. Not sure about their value
as guard dogs though.  One of them,
perhaps.  The other one, the only way she
would be useful is that thieves couldn’t make much progress invading my home
with her jumping on them in a relentless effort to get attention.  Oh well.
    Cute as hell though.

kathc, it really should be Camelgal!  LOL

Cami and SpecialK that's a great commercial!

Dance, yep I remember your trouble with TCH too. Real glad there may be something better now.

Cypher, yeah I've tried a lot of things. I am taking pre and probiotics.  I am on a med for IBS. But my problem is compounded by my low magnesium. If I eat spinach beans lentils etc it will trigger my problem. LOL! Those are high mag items. Also Dark choc. But some how that's not an issue. My mag level is low because of chemo. But also because of meds. Oh well. It has been getting better.

Pbrain, is your hair still the same color that it came in as? My curls are all gone. I am just dark haired and flat in the head. LOL

    TO ALL MUCH LOVE

I was on this probiotic during chemo and after and it really helped.  Unfortunately, I haven't found a place to buy it around here and I'm iffy about ordering something that's supposed to stay refrigerated (it takes forever to get things where we live now - it's like Pony Express-ville).

    http://www.allergyresearchgroup.com/BifidoBiotics-...

    Anyway, it really helped.

My magnesium was a bit low on one of the recent tests so I've been back to drinking Natural Calm before bedtime (if and when I remember to do it).

    hello ladies,

Sorry I haven't been around recently.  I seem to spend all my time going from one appointment to another!

I now have a great orthopedic surgeon who's going to sort out my back - can't wait! - and another who's trying to sort out my knee. Throw in PT appointments for LE and for my knee, plus scans and blood tests, not to mention onco visits and herceptin infusions.....see why I haven't been around much???!

To top it all, it's been raining here for the last two weeks and I'm getting sick of it. I know I shouldn't complain about the weather; I know some of you are having a very hard time. But I hate rain!!!!!'

Hi Nicky--Excuse me but those are not good enough reasons not to be here. But since u live in France and everything is so romantic there--OK

Wow it sounds good for relief for you, That's got to be an exciting feeling to know--someone who can help you. Go ahead and complain about the weather we all do, to hot, to cold, no rain, to much, blizzard, ice whatever. I'm glad u popped in, we miss u.

thanks Camille!  I'll try to come up with a better excuse if it happens again 😉!

It is a great relief, even better is he seems to be really on the ball. He requested a copy of my last cervical MRI on Monday, I brought it to him at 11.50 on Tuesday, and he rang me to tell me what he was going to do at 1.55pm!  I was barely back in the door. I haven't him face to face yet, but I already really like this surgeon!!

This morning I had an appointment with a podiatrist, I have to have insoles made for my shoes to change how I put the weight on my feet - supposedly to help my knee. I'm leaving in a few minutes to have PT in the swimming pool, also for my knee. Then tomorrow morning at 9 I have more PT, this time for my LE. In the afternoon I have a visit with my GP to tell her what's been happening and to get some prescriptions. It's all go here! But at least it's stopped raining for a few minutes.

How are you doing? You haven't said anything lately about your mixed up insides. Any news?!

Cami, our Cami, is all flooped inside,

Because all her organs play seek and hide!

Doctors watch her and are surprised

While Cami's nerves just get fried!

Cami, Our Cami just makes us smile

As she  and her jokes continue to pile

We now keep a list of her best in our file

Soon will have enough for a joke line to Dial!

Cami our Cami is queen of this board

Deny it she will, her modesty forward

We go to the future, the rivers we ford,

All troubles we go over or sometimes toward.

And Cami, our Cami will surely lead

As we ask for help and info we plead

Oh Great Cami please do your great deed

As Cami, our Cami tell us its others we need!

LOL! Sorry sometimes I just go off with bad poetry! LOL
