Congraulations, AnnieeC - he looks like a beautiful, healthy boy - so special for you!

Lago - that would annoy me, too. BTW, you may find this article useful and interesting:
Management of aromatase inhibitor-associated bone loss in postmenopausal women with breast cancer: practical guidance for prevention and treatment

anniee! Congrats! I do so like Happy News!!

Thanks for the responses. So are you saying that the bone pain could be a sign of osteoporosis or something similar? My calcium levels have been ok and I don't remember them moving around dramatically, if that means anything.
Any other recommendations from you ladies while I'm seeing him? Bug him to start the MRI scheduling process going, ask him about bone scans (I think Alaska said they rule in bone mets but don't rule it out -- I had one a few weeks after I finished with rads and it didn't show anything other than arthritis), ask him about a bone density scan, ask him about the new research about the cross talk between Herceptin and tamox even though I know what he's going to say ("your alternatives would be to shut down your ovaries and you wouldn't like that"). I've never had a PET scan and I am getting close to the 2 year post DX mark (diagnosed 4/2012, NED date would be mid june 2012). I appreciate the tremendous knowledge from this group!
Lago, I hear you about the endocrinologist. She sounds annoying. Obviously you want her expertise or you wouldn't have bothered seeing a specialist!
Congrats Annie!

Lago, my daughter has acid reflux, and was having significant issues a couple years ago, so they did some testing and an endoscopy. Apparently something tested higher on her too and they wondered about celiac. She watches her wheat pretty carefully and did the whole gluten free thing for awhile. Didn't really notice any difference. Her major flare ups occur on the nights she parties and drinks the hard stuff, lol. She has learned the hard way!
Annie-adorable and congrats! I took my great niece to see Frozen last week. She is almost three, and it was her first movie. So fun. All the way home, she kept repeating, "had fun, saw movie, ate popcorn, blue slushy and candy." I. Felt like the junk food queen. She only had little bits, but it made an impression!

fluff, that's what Great Aunts s are for! LOL

Fluff some alcohol isn't gluten free (but wine is!) Like I said I don't usually eat that much gluten... but today is one of the worst days ever. I had a spicy Italian cold cut sub from JP Grazianos then ate some Italian cookies. I do have some bloat but not too uncomfortable. I'm just hoping it's the salt retention... also a gift from Anastrozole. Will be making the appointment with my gastroenterologist next week. Hoping this is just a fluke. I did have an endoscopy way back when I was having terrible reflux years ago but they didn't check my small intestine. Saw ulcers but no cancer.
dancetrancer Thanks for the link. I'm now -2.6 in spine. After chemo I jumped to -2.3 but remained stable till this past October. Rest of me is still osteopenic and appears stable. The general rule isn't what I need right now. I need to know what I should do given all my medical history. The is endo just doesn't get that even when I said that to her.

That is so frustrating lago. Medicine should be individualized, not cookie cutter. Hope you have better luck with your new doc!

Hope some of you find this funny I did. If I offend anyone I'm sorry.

ang7894 I have boobie prizes. I wouldn't know if my boobs were on fire

ange I could put the fire out. My foobs are saline! LOL
Lago, shoot. I don't blame you for wanting a more understanding endo. Cripes you are the one LIVING IT. She just has to figure out what's going on.
Much love.

Annie Such a beautiful baby, U have been blessed.
Lago I'm sorry u'r going thru all this chit and u'r Dr. doesn't seemed to be tuned in. Hope u'r new one give u more insight. Isn't reflux Gerd? or is that something different.?
Like those pics, funny, Oh and I find no offense in anything anymore--so have at it.

Yes Camillegal, Acid Reflux/Gerd same thing.

Lago can't u take something for it or does it not mix with what u take now?

I'm 40. Thank you ladies for the very helpful and on point replies!!!! I have some more reading to do,., knowledge is power and in my learning that I cannot control this whole thing, educating myself helps. It is such a pleasure to connect with so many educated women. Thank you,

Formy u'r right really there is not a lot u can control with most of this, of course decisions but u'r always second guessing u'rself, but I believe u can control u'r stress in different ways, which in my crazy way of thinking helps u so much thru all of this--of course if u want to know every aspect of this that's wonderful as most women do. But I think u have to learn if u don't know, how to distress what u might think u know. Many women have found different ways and some just don't need to learn. But it's so important not just for now but for the future too. I almost think BC seems to thrive with fear and anxiety (certainly not medical) but it's an advantage to you if u can do this.

ange, loved them both! glad I had just swallowed my coffee, otherwise it would have been all over my keyboard!
lago, sorry you may have celiac
Hopefully it is not. I have been GF for 2 1/2 years and it really is not so bad. Getting started was the worst part, but once I figured it out, it is very doable, especially because there are so many more GF products available now.Welcome to the new ladies, hopefully you will find a wealth of knowledge and encouragement here.

camillegal I rarely have acid reflux now because I keep the stress level down and do not eat close to bed time especially things that are acidic or chocolate. Also try not to eat large portions. But I can still get it if I eat to close to bed time or eat chocolate close to bedtime. If I do have Celiac disease, no cure for that. For most people it is managed by diet. My test came back slightly high... probably because I don't eat a lot of foods with gluten anyway. I don't eat bread that often, have reduced my process food considerably and even pasta is only once in a while. My challenge will be soy sauce.
formydaughter What camillegal says. I too believe stress was the final trigger that got my breast cancer started although no science behind it. What we do know is stress is bad for us and does cause other issues. I find the days I don't work out I mentally don't feel as good as the days I do. Hate to exercise but love the way I fell when it's done (and the way I fell the rest of the day). Best and cheapest stress reliever. Go powerwalk!

lago, they do make a GF soy sauce. A friend with celiac even takes it with her to Chinese restaurants.
0 -
Yes I know. But the problem with Chinese is they don't cook with it. Will work fine with sushi though. Lucky most fish sauce is gluten free. But we still don't know for sure I have it. (My gut on this says yes with sucks)

Well Lago no pun intended (well alright maybe I did intend this) Go with your gut! LOL

Hello Ladies,
I am finally feeling myself again. Holy crap Batman! Sheessh.. So what's left....purple thing on tongue went away in three days. My skin seems exceptionally dry and flaky. Today I have my appetite back but being careful.
Interesting info regarding the Neulasta shot. It seems we all have a different level of response. Some really respond with rebound WBC of 30-40,000. Those people tend to have much more sever bone pain. Just thought I would share that.
ang7894.. the cartoons are hysterical! thank you for the laugh.
Lago.. Were you H.Pylori+ on endoscopy?
Diablomom.. we are on the same protocol and started the same exact day. Let's keep in touch if you don't mind.
Debdawn64.. glad you are nearing the end successfully!
Sicilican..I hear you on the messy stomach. I hope you are feeling better now. I am sorry. may I ask what treatment regimen,it's not listed. Yes, to super dry and flaky skin.
Dgdm1003... second round was better? I can hope! I am on same tx, I felt super bad until Thursday the week after TCH. I am hoping the second round goes better for me too.
Allydp and Ula... welcome and hope you do as well as can be expected!
H0pe.. I did have a better weekend. I was able to clean up, do laundry, take the littlest indian to bowling, and cook. Big difference from last weekend! I did take my meds before I needed them but I think I have to take a narcotic for the headache which as a nurse, I was reluctant to do. I kind felt like I must be being a baby. Everyone else seemed to do okay. And I don't remember anyone else getting cramps like me. They were so uncomfortable. I had Monday off and then had to work and it was tough going Tues and Wed. I have meds now and will definitely take them.
Happy Sunday..

princessrn I have no idea if I was H.Pylori+. It was done back in 2008
0 -
princessrn I did not have the neulasta, but had body cramps bad for 3 days after the first round. Second round I drank Gatorade ( I think I was dehydrated first round and that contributed to the horrible cramping). This time around I did take 2.5 of Norco one night which helped me get a good nights sleep. Feel good this weekend, but have been taking it easy. I have been working the entire time, new job and I worry that I might need time as I get further along in treatment. I had chemo brain bad this round, but gets better everyday.
I think we are going to go away next week before I get smacked by round 3. Hubby and I need some alone time.

princess - are you taking Zofran as an anti-nausea? It gave me a wicked headache and did nothing to stop the dry heaves. I switched to Compazine and it worked great with no headache. Also, many of us had a bad headache after tx#1 but not on subsequent rounds.

lago, I agree completely about stress. I'm positive it was a contributing factor for me..,,husband walked out, trying to make ends meet financially...financial crises if 2008...high stress job...got sued by idiot who broke into my car because my daughter's dog bit him in the face (sadist part was we had to get rid of the dog).,,I actually had the settlement conf for that one the same week I was awaiting biopsy results and received my C DX. (Put the dog bite case in its perspective place of crap by comparison- that was a good thing), But, we all have out stuff and stress. I'm now trying to figure out how to reduce:eliminate it, seriously thinking of a career change to less stressful something. But not sure how to make $$ doing it and chicken about it. too many changes at once. My diet had already been pretty good - some changes to make . I do need to get back into exercise, as soon as my plastic clears me for it. I'm thinking restorative yoga sounds good about now . And walking. I do that now. I really want to try the ballet barre based classes, but need to get more healed first. You seem to have reduced stress in your life! Pointers?
