The planets must be in alignment again - Miss Sassypants is back! ( Can't post any cute dancing gifts; on my iPad and would never be able to figure it out. But suffice it to say I AM doing the happy dance...)

And those guys with the one-sided Speedos? Totally new. You can tell by the old tan lines. They may be hot, but they're dorky hot. At least get a nekkid tan or a spray tan!

thanks, Cammi, why are you still awake?

Ok, iPad users: when I google animated images, then SAVE IMAGE to the iPad, then upload to BCO (using the icon that looks like a picture frame) it isn't animated any more. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Morning goils! Welcome back miss Sassy!  Good God Girl, just be your regular witty, informative self and keep us company on this thread!  Ha!

You can't change the whole world, at least in a couple days, so just hang here with us other ne'r-do-wells and have fun!

Our little DD came over yesterday, AND our DD fromanothermother and it was soooooo nice!   Taking DD to the shuttle this afternoon, she is going to her Sister's in Orlando..... sniff.....  She will be gone a WEEK!  I'm having serious withdrawals from this..... sniff...

She brought over Kentucky fried Chicken for Father's Day, and we laughed and I showed off my back yard, and all the things I painted yesterday morning!  Now don't go telling me all this STUFF about my Gatchee's or whatever they are!

    image

    image

    Beause I won't listen.... Ha!

Working in that yard just keeps me off the streets....  Except we DID all walk up to Starbucks for my favorite!

Okay sweet ladies....  YES Cammi, you TOO!  Ha!  Have to drink my coffee out back, while the sun is starting to come up!

Tang...good lick today. Hope your last chemo is the easiest one

Hi cami..hope u r feeling a bit better. It's funny every time I read your weather report...I think...whattttt, it's beautiful here..maybe a little warm tomorrow. But I am always sitting in my back yard, and it's cooler out there then in the house..hope you have a good doc appt. Wednesday

    Blessings..how r u doing off the meds ?

Hi Chevy...love the thingamajigs, chatkeys, or however u spell that. We r looking for a couple salamanders to be climbing up some cinder block..no luck so far. Nice that u have the swan resting on a chair :) love your table !!

Be good everyone...sas is back...  Hi sas...and congrats on getting on the board !! Cool stuff

Hi Susan!  I just painted that table again!  Tried to give it a little pizazz!  And the chairs were rescued from the alley!

    image

The one in the distance is a wicker ladder-back chair... It had been painted all light blue, and was really in bad shape,  so I snuck down the alley one morning, and TOOK the damn thing!  Same with the other white one....  And I painted the seats red to match the table.  We have had that picnic table since 1970...

You have Salamanders?  Almost?   They are going to breed, you know...  Then you will be feeding them ALL.... just like Chipmunks I had once....  Ate up the whole garden!

Oh yes, CONGRATULATIONS Sass!  You know, I was thinking once....  Have you ever thought about  starting your own informational web-site?  I don't know anything about it, but like when we google something like "how long after a broken hip will I be albe to walk without a cane:?"........  Or even "why am I having so many problems with constipation?"    And then all these sites come up... and you can read what OTHERS experience, or read what OTHER people know, and you can maybe get help that way......  So I was just wondering if you could use THAT type of informational sequence of  topics to help others!

Or whatever I just said......   Cammi!  Don't even THINK it!

    Chevy , not real salamanders...chatkey ones....we don't have them here in chicago.....rats yes...salamanders no..would prefer the salamanders.

You did a great job rehabbing those chairs.  I used to do that kind of stuff....I move through projects so quickly...they r phases for me. Right now we are in a knitting phase. Getting things done for my daughters kids, just in case I am not here when they come along. I have knitted so many things for her and other people, don't want her kids not to have anything from my hands. So far I have 2 sweaters and a scarf done. Working on finishing a sweater for my daughter. Then I am back to baby clothes. They do go quicker so they are more fun.

I will send a pic of the one sweater I am soooo proud of it, had to do it with a diagram. That was a first for me.

Morning CHEVY, love the backyard. Dini would make short work of it's destruction looking for lizards.  I'm a garbage picker when necessary too. Stephen once picked up a butcher block table 10 years ago. A little sanding ,polyurethane, and paint on the base. Still being used by his fraternity brothers.

SweetSue so crafty....did you know Enerva is a Master Knitter? There is also a Stictching thread. Smarrty's there too Lots of nice folks. They are very helpful and have fun too. The thread moves slow so is a perfect counterpart to here :) Susan is that your backyard? OMG that would be beautiful to wake up to every morning :)

2TA the owls are cute whether their dancing or not  thanks :)

All you happy gardeners, how nice to look at such beautiful things in your own space that you created. Does the heart and soul good. I have one houseplant. It was my dear uncles funeral plant in 1980. A philydendron. I'm it's keeper.

Cami, Thanks about NRC. My kind of committee. He said "Remember we move slow" LOL. YAY.  Used to be just the opposite, now I've mellowed. Slow is good. Cami prior to finding that thing on how bile affects stool color, I would have thought infection. Knew info for me, very good to know. LOL I enjoy weird stuff. Cami, honest I will be happy just being here with you all. I felt responsible to take care of the "housekeeping " threads. But very often it was hours of work. On the Constipation thread someone said that Senna couldn't be habit forming. I said to myself "I can't unequivocally say yes or no". Two Sunday afternoons were spent studying. Too much poop reading. Now if someone here asked ANY SIMILAR QUESTION I'LL BE HAPPY TO SPEND WHATEVER TIME SOMETHING NEEDS.

Blessings Thanks it's so nice to be back. Being off the AI's does get better and better. For me it took months. But initially I could feel the difference in a couple of weeks. Still take one pain pill each morning, but life is sooooo much better. The best is the change in the musculoskeletal pain. Now if we could keep from falling. It seems to me you had a fall? I know Nettie did off the lawnmower b/c of flip flops. I've only had one fall this year over Schatzi. Poor dog. I stepped on her tail. It went limp. But sprang up again after a few days.

FBB---cute owls LOL. There is nothing that owls can't be made from :) I think I got something ? :)

Tang - missed your post last night. In your pocket for last chemo. Death to those buggers. I agree I have no clue how people did chemo without our modern drugs/knowledge. I'd love to go back to a simpler time maybe the 50's but keep all our modern advances though maybe not all the electronic end. Hope you like your RO. Mine was very good but then again I kinda came/went with not any particular problems so not a great lot of contact with her. Would request her again if I/DH need any radiation tx though would rather not see her again unless at the bookstore or restaurant - you get my drift. Not sure I would even recognize her out socially so little contact.

Loved the bridge ladies picture. How many of you got together? Not a thread I keep up with.

2nd - I've never been able to post an animated image and I'm on desktop PC.

Sassy without even reading my bet is yes Senna can be habit forming even though it is a "natural" product. Why not, isn't just about every other laxative. But if you can't poop habit forming is good. Then again If you take away the cause of the constipation and then can't wean off lax. that's a different matter. I had a prof. in college (biology maybe) who said eating was a habit but a life sustaining one. Always thought that was funny. So if you look at habits that way most anything is. But I don't think I could read for 2 days on Senna.

Yeppers - falls. I fell stepping over the vacuum. I think my ankle joints don't bend well and so I don't pick my feet up. That and I had on slippers. But my balance has always been crappy. I did (and need to start again) exercises on tape or TV (anyone remember Gilad?) and balance improved. I'm the kind that can run into a doorway frame every time.

Awe Nettie I loved the fawn rescue. Smart lady and very calming touch. Hope mama deer waiting in the brush.

Morning all.  Susan, cute sweater. I have one project going but haven't touched it in a couple months. Will have to get back to it. I have been sewing, got 2 dresses done over the weekend. Need to make a couple more and start altering a couple, they're starting to really bag on me. Love your yard. Wish mine had flowers but not this year.

SAS, glad you're back! Congrats on the Board appt. that's a nice coup. Sorry the mods got you they should have allowed a final posting so people wouldn't worry.

Teka, I know you said 4th of July, but I'm running out of coffee!!

Tang, yeah for the last chemo.  We should all have a pocket party this week while you recoup. Get your mind off it!

Have a doc appt this morning to check out a weird mole. Should be nothing.

SAS - So glad to see you.

Susan, I love your yard.  I don't think mine will be worthy of pics until next year, we'll see later in the season, though.  It's coming along, but I'm not a nice neat planner like you.  I see a plant that I like, buy it, and then try to figure out where it should go.  I did plant 2 boysenberries and 6 grapevines last week.  Hopefully most of them will grow.  Once they do, in the summer they will provide additional privacy (I planted them along out back and side fences), then in the autumn, some sweetness.  :)  Well, the boysenberries will provide their sweetness in the summer.   The people who used to live here apparently had lithadora planted everywhere, as there is a VERY think mat of roots that covers the entire garden area - and lithodora springs up hither and yon.  Getting through the roots and removing them has been a challenge, but I'm slowly but surely cleaning the area out.  Once the roots are gone, the soil seems to grow things quite well.  This is my first place ever that had inground sprinklers.  I'm slowly getting the broken ones fixed.  Really like it though, as I'm not fond of hauling hoses around.

Tang - hope all went well with you.

My memory has now failed - but waving around to everyone else.  :)

Smarrty, I have an opinion on the cruelty related to the ban. In a place that expresses care for the emotional well being of members. I was banned from contact. The mods were watching to see if I made contact. They saw everyone's concern. Members throughout BCO become emotionally involved. When someone disappears, it's emotional and physically painful. The disregard for your concern was cruel. We don't live or breathe in a vacuum. We are committed to each other.

But what I learned is freedom of speech does not exist here or in any forum moderated arena. I was shocked to learn this. As in anything else that I've studied, I learned allot.

I've said my piece, so let there be peace.

Thanks re: the NRC committee. Even if I don't end up doing anything b/c of unforeseen physical problems, it's very nice to know they have my notes on the subject. The HELL of RAI131 will be made easier for those that follow.  It may even have an application to taking of other kinds of chemo's that are excreted through the urinary system. There's lots of research ahead. The NRC is committed to doing it.  COOL.

Susan....Did you use cedar for container/retaining wall?  Is it lined with anything?  You have a beautiful yard and porch.

Chevy...I like your yard as well.  I'm trying to find things to repurpose in my container garden.  I get carried away buying things for projects.

littlegoats. LOL. I agree too much reading on poop. Never ever found a sentence that said Senna could be habit forming. But after some 60 articles and PubMed abstracts, I did find a study that said that the "Haustral folds were decreased". Yikes! Then had to study what a haustral fold was. There is no simple definition, but explaining outcome will help. The haustral fold helps to propel stool forward. If stool can't be propelled forward, it interferes with pooping. Therefore, if haustral folds are decreased,  constipation and it's worst form of the problem obstipation can occur.

OH CHIT! That raises a question is the severe constipation /obstipation caused by long term narcotic use from their affect on the nervous innervation to the colon, or are there physical changes. Well, since I've only seen obstipation in heavy, heavy narcotic users, I will leave that question alone.  See I can think of other things. Getting better :)

Tang I know you were scheduled for sx. What happened? The post I read was that you were scheduled for a clean out of the area. Did this happen or is it still to be done? Chemo? What up? The question for your docs "Does healing of a wound/incision occur with chemo treatment?"

Enerva-- What happened with your redo? I met a relatives wife who works for a PS near Oshawa.  She said that the PS's in Canada aren't real interested in reconstruction b/c of the Canadian reimbursement system. I didn't quite understand the whole thing, but thought you might.

Hey ya'll!! I'm home from last chemo and feeling good :) I know I'm on an emotional high right now, I still can't believe I finished that crap! I met with RO this morning and I like her. She took time to talk about what and why we were doing the radiation and explained a little of how it works. I'll have 6 1/2 weeks....33 sessions I think it comes out to.

Sas-I had the surgery a week ago monday. The doctors think that my healing is coming along well and that the hope is chemo will not interfere with with it. I always feel sort of like when it comes to chemo, it is all very iffy. Is this normal or just my doctor? The surgery removed 15 cm's of tissue/crap from my chest wall that was casuing an ecapsulation(not sure if this the right terminology) of fluid over and over again. The good news is the psuedomonas was isolated to that area and not gotten into my blood stream. I'll be taking antibiotics until wedensday, possibily another week as well. I can tell that the area is looking and feeling much better. I didn't realize just how much pain I was in until I stopped having pain...make sense?

So, last chemo.....what a crazy time this has been. Thanks to everyone for putting up with my whiny arse!

Oh and I love the backyard pics! I want to work in my yard when all of this is done. ((hugs))

Yay Tang jumping for joy that your done with chemo. 33 rads tx is pretty much the standard. Like I said b4 it's just getting it done, slogging there and back. Some reward themselves with a weekly treat. Doesn't have to be expensive/elaborate. A Starbucks if you never do it, a fancy ice cream cone. I know a lady on another thread who ordered a bracelet a week. I used a countdown calendar to mark off the day. Brought donuts to the techs on last day.
