Oh LB that is lovely, and darned true!!!! Good to see you SDB and yes thank you again for the bookmark, such a lovely gesture from a lovely woman and it's true every day is a new day to start over, just do what you can when you feel like it. Badger if I win the lottery, I'll shout us all a trip to Australia, yes it is fun to dream

Okay so this morning I decided enough was enough, through the night I would get these coughing fits and I had to sit up as I couldn't breath and I started hearing rattling in my breathing, so this morning I headed to the walk-in clinic and it's confirmed I have pneumonia so I'm having to lay low for a few days, I have a very strong antibiotic and a sleep inducing cough mixture and Mucinex and a water pill so I'm going to be rattling for a few days, I knew something was wrong when suddenly I started really enjoying lemon/honey water - I am a no lemon in the water gal, and why is it that when you're not feeling great you want comfort foods, while I was at Target getting my prescription filled I also bought two kinds of Pepperidge Farm cookies, chicken noodle soup, potato chips and of course really good Swiss chocolate, I'm set for another day of laying around watching Investigation Discovery

Yes, Lilac, run for Stage IV!
Cheryl sounds like it is time to lay low. I always know I'm sick if I want chicken noodle soup and hot tea because I never eat those otherwise!
Walked for 35 minutes at the lake. I think we have storms rolling in later as it was extremely windy but no storms or rain so far. I then polished off a high calorie late lunch/dinner. You know, in honor of father's day. Oh well.
Speaking of my lunch, here's another article indicating lowering carbs may help reduce breast cancer recurrence.

I'd splurge the big bucks and go to Australia, heck yes! But I'd also be up for a local or this hemisphere island/beach/sand/spa type event.

Oh Cheryl - I hope you feel much better very soon. I'm still recuperating from California Dreaming myself. Only worked one full day this week (Wednesday). Tuesday and Thursday I didn't even last through mid-morning and Friday I called in sick. Been very tired and blue and have done little but sleep. PCP put me on Lexapro which I think makes me dizzy, hope my body adjusts soon. Hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day for both you and me. (((((((hugs)))))))

Cheryl and Lisa, so sorry you are both going through these challenges. Be good to yourself and rest. Cheryl, Eduardo will wait!
Beppy, thanks for the bookmark. Nice surprise and so sweet.
Went to gym and ran in pool for an hour then walked another 30 mins at the mall. Since I don't swim I was happy to see my fitbit survived being in a ziploc bag just below my shoulder so it counted my running in the pool.
Next trip, I also remember seeing there was a Wyndham spa, I think on the beach in Destin FL. Saw Destin on House Hunters last week so that's why I remembered it looks very nice. Don't think I can swing Australia. Come to think of it, I didn't click on it but remember meaning to go back as there were spas in the Virgin Islands as well.
As badger says, we would need to book early so need to at least narrow it down soon.

patoo, I liked the looks of the Emerald Green in Destin but also the Palm-Aire in Ft. Lauderdale. Once we pin down a place or two, I'll ask mom to make a call to see when the suites are available next spring. (NOT during spring break tho!!)

Oh Badger, talk about great minds thinking alike, I am so bored I've spent the last hour or so going though the site - I saw Emerald Green but also Beach St Cottages which is 1.8 miles from Emerald Green but more home like. There is also one in Sedona, which we talked about, and like Patoo said downtown New Orleans, also found Hotel Galveston, in Galveston Tx, Star Island, Kissimmee Fl, W at the cottages, N Myrtle Beach, SC - I know I'm all over the place but I'm bored and I can't seem to focus enough to read my book so I'm just futzing around.

LOL Cheryl, I did that late last night. It's cool to click into the resorts and see what they have. I also liked the Beach Street Cottages. Meant to write that down but ya know, it was late!

Dear, Cheryl, wow, pneumonia!!! Glad you got the medicine you needed, hope you can get a lot of rest!! SlowDeepBreath, again thank you for the beautiful butterfly bookmark! What a wonderful remembrance of our time together!! Lisa, I hope you feel better soon!! I took Lexapro a few years ago and it does help. Badger a spa trip sounds fun! I would love to see you all again next year!! Exercise today was walking, running after my Grandaughter and running up and down the stairs!! I am having a colonoscopy on Tuesday and the prep is tomorrow!!! A fun way to lose some weight, yikes!!! My last one was 10 years ago!!

Kindergarten, hope not to burst your bubble but I've had 2 colonoscopies in the last 6 months and didn't lose an ounce!
Seems we may be narrowing to FL area? I'm game. Cheryl, I know you must be ready to climb the walls because you are always on the go!

Dear Patoo, LOL, darn!! Even after taking the Miralax??? Wow, you had two colonoscopies in the last two months! Hope everything is OK!

Hi ladies! I finally started my exercise yesterday. I'm very sore today, but it's good to feel alive. I am out of shape after the past 10 months of chemo, surgery and rads. And, I wasn't in great shape before that. I am taking the summer off to focus on my health (and told my doctor No medical appointments until September). I went to the gym last night and walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill and did some light weights on the lower half. I still have some open areas from rads, so I'm waiting for those to heal before I get really serious. Should be about another week or so. Meanwhile, it's good to have support here! I hope everyone here is doing well.

Lilacblue, proud of you running for the Stage 4 ladies.
Cheryl, rest up and feel better. Body Jam will still be there when you are feeling better.
Exercise today was 30 minutes aqua jogging plus an hour of leisurely swimming. Got my vitamin D too.
Would love to join you guys next year.

Badger, Cheryl, patoo and Kindergarten, You're very welcome! The butterfly reminds me of all of you. All very beautiful - and unique. If anyone ever gets a chance to meet any of these ladies, don't pass it up!! They are all so much fun!!
Cheryl and sweetandspecial, I hope you both get better soon! Pneumonia - yikes!! and....sweetandspecial, you were such a trooper during the CA trip!! Cheryl, if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. I'd be happy to shoot down to Huntington Beach for anything you need.
Kathy, Good luck with your colonoscopy on Tues. I'll be thinking of you!

Hi, busy day today but carved out some toning time with Denise Austin in the one hour I had free!
LOVE your new picture, Lilac!
Welcome, Click!
Cheryl, behave yourself even though it will drive you crazy.
Sweet, hope you are feeling better.
I will look at those beach places you guys mentioned tomorrow. Fun to start plotting!
Kindergarten, good luck with the prep. I can not resist saying that I am sure it will all come out okay in the end......

Hi to everyone else!

Kindergarten, mine was not Miralax but a prescription cocktail taken in 2 x16 oz doses, plus 2 more plain 16 oz glasses of water, that was actually easy to get down. Good luck tomorrow.

For those of you planning next year.....I would totally recommend Maui. Gorgeous scenery and something a bit different, and just amazing beaches. Lots of places to hike and snorkel. I was there a year ago, and would love to go back. I would do another day too. So four and not three days. It's worth seeing all the island as just spectacular scenery.
I got in 60 miles of cycling over the weekend and was chilled to the bone yesterday, having gotten caught in downpours three times. So really enjoyed that long hot soak afterwards.
Have a wonderful week everyone. Back to running...... Hoping for sunshine today as well. - Claire

Lilac, what a great sign! Cheryl, enjoy the pleasant parts of your convalescence (lying around eating yummies!) and take care of yourself. Sweet, I hope the dizziness resolves. I'm prone to dizziness and nausea from new meds but it usually resolves with time, or taking it at night instead of morning. SlowDeepBreaths, thanks for the butterfly-- I'm using mine as a fridge magnet. Kindergarten, good for you for getting your colonoscopy. Prep is no fun! Clickchick, welcome!
Maui? I think I'd go for that-- have never been there. But it's a relatively easy flight for me from here. Of the rest I'd pick Sedona as I like dry climates.
Well, never thought it would happen but I'm jogging a bit with the dog, twice a day. I make it about a quarter of the way around the block then slow down, then pick it up again. The pup enjoys it, and I have found that if I jog, it keeps her from stopping to sniff the ground every few feet. So less tugging at the leash. I'll see if my various cranky joints can tolerate it.

Kindergarten - I had my first colonoscopy about a year and a half ago. Being the analytical thinker that I am I compared my 'before prep' weight with my 'after procedure' weight and determined I was 2.7% poop......lol

SlowDeepBreaths - the cards and bookmarks were a wonderful personal gesture and I thank you. I'm actually reading a real paper book right now so am putting the bookmark to good use
_Ann_ - good for you for giving a slow jog a whirl. It may or may not work out for you but the puppy enjoys it I'm sure!
I'll have to roll with the flow to see the when/where for next year's trip. DH and I have a biggie to South Africa in March and we'll be digging in on some wedding financial assistance for DS and his fiance about that time also. My wish would be for something where we could have a busy day, then more of a quite day, busy day, relaxing day sort of schedule (so it doesn't take me weeks and weeks on anxiety meds to recuperate!!! lol)

_Ann_ & sweetandspecial, You're welcome! A fridge magnet is a great idea!!
sweetandspecial, you all had such a rigorous schedule on the California Dreaming trip. I don't know how you all did it. Just the drive would have put me over the edge LOL. That drive, while beautiful, is grueling in some parts.
Did you gals ever go to Washington State in your travels?
So far I've done my stretching this morning. I'm trying to find things to do that will baby my knees. I'm thinking about getting one of those upper body contraptions that hook on to your table.

Here is an interesting picture I came across....the Golden Gate Bridge under construction in 1937.....glad the sidewalk goes all the way across nowadays!

Whew - still recovering from the California Dreamin' trip - meant to rest at the cabin this weekend, but of course the grass needed cutting and the forest vines and underbrush were invading the gardens, a small tree fell across the driveway and had to be chainsawed out of the way, and oh yeah, we had 6 inches of rain in 4 days on top of the other rain we've had in the last month. The aquifer is so saturated that springs are popping up out of the mountain all over the place. We had to dig out a quick channel about 20 feet from the cabin to drain the water away from the foundation. So not exactly a restful weekend. I wish I could channel that water all the way out to you California girls with your drought out there!
SDB - thank you so much for the bookmark! I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet you and the other ladies in SoCal, but your magnet was such a delightful surprise.
Any spa type place for next year sounds wonderful!
Did get up and do a yoga DVD this morning. Trying to get back into regular exercise after all our SF walking. What a wonderful city that was, and what a great time I had with all the Sculpted Sisters. I'm still smiling at so many of the memories.
Ruth - cool pic of the GGB under construction.

Thanks for the chuckle, Ruth!! Thanks also, Patoo and SlowDeepBreaths!! I have not eaten any solid food all day, and I thought I would go crazy, but it am fine!! I love my popscicles now!! Thanks for your well wishes!!! No exercise today, I thought it would make me hungrier!!!

Zumba and more yard work.

click chick take it slow but steady. It takes a bit to get back after treatments and surgery.
Ann that dog seems to be keeping you good company.
Sweet are you saying you're not as full of shit as we thought? Only2.7%? Hee hee just kidding.
Ooh I just saw a humming bird on my clematis. I hadn't seen them yet this year.
Walked 20 minutes today. Hot out. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

30 minutes HIIT training on the treadmill today plus some weights.

Good luck with your procedure Kindergarden.
Cheryl and Sweet: Please get better!
Welcome ClickChick!
Nats: Maybe next weekend will be more restful for you.
Hello Everyone!
No exercise today but I've been walking/jogging everyday since the last time I posted. It's hot and it's only going to get hotter.

Badger, was just watching your weather. My niece arrived in Wisconsin two days ago and they already have a tornado warning. I hope you're staying safe. My thoughts are with you!
Edited to say: NatsFan, you're very welcome. I wish I had met you as well!!

I have been looking through the vacation links that badger sent. Yikes! Too many choices! But as I have been thinking about it, I can think of a couple questions that maybe should be going through the mind when considering a place:
* How easy is it to get there? Is it close to a major airport (to keep down the expense and hassle of travel)?
* Once there, are there enough activities on site and/or are attractions in walking distance or is there good public transportation to get to the attractions?
* Any other questions you can think of that would be important when looking at a get-together spot?
0 -
Yikes NatsFan that sounds like so much work, but it's good to hear someplace is getting rain. Ruth, I'd add "how's the weather" to your questions. Are you assuming it's a summertime trip?
Two walk/runs with the dog. Spent much of the rest of the day napping.

So I'm posting yesterday's exercise...I'm hopeless lol....I did step aerobic and calisthenics for an hour and I walked the dog and I did housework....I had a lot of energy ....odd. Today...not so energetic... I only walked the dog this morning. Did some knitting so my fingers got a really good work-out:)*** I wish everyone the best of health and loads of energy...keeping you all in my thoughts especially those who are not feeling all that great at this time. Sometimes rest is the best medicine...I had to learn that one the hard way.
