Ruth, I've been following that crazy weather in the whole upper US. I know they had some tornados in WI. I was thinking of Badger. Hope you're all safe up there!!!

Got my 10k steps in yesterday, but that's about it. Fire alarm went off in our house at 3:30 this morning (no reason, probably humidity set it off), and I couldn't get back to sleep, so headed to work early. Still not feeling myself, but I think my lack of sleep the last few nights has something to do with it.

Well, I didn't get sucked up in a tornado, but we did get lots of thunder & lightning, 2 1/2 inches of rain & street flooding. Yikes, it still looks pretty suspicious in the weather department today also.
I did go to Zumba last night, but from there to a benefit supper for a former student who has many medical problems (my exercise/eat cycle!). I am off to Core in a couple minutes. Since it is so gloomy, maybe I will actually get some things done around the house. Maybe.....maybe not!

I am slowly coming out of my cocoon no exercise as yet just lots of rest and recovery,I have been taking the antibiotics but the cough mixture they gave me is only 1 teaspoon and boy oh boy it knocks me out and I have had some very very vivid dreams and dreams that I wake up remembering suffice to say this stuff s potent. Glad to hear you "weathered the storm" Ruth, please send us some rain. Badger good to know you are okay, this is one crazy weather system that's going on now. LB my ex in-laws lived in Placerville, it's absolutely gorgeous up there.
Well if you choose San Diego I could drive down so we'd have a car for getting around and I could do the airport pick ups, the San Diego airport is right in town, it is a great city, lots to do and Mary and I can get you to the ball park with out dueling navigation apps
the hotel is in the Gas Lamp district so it's easy to get around and if we wanted a beach day, as I say I would have a car. BTW the other night on The Little Couple they were staying at and did their vow renewal at the Hotel Galvaz which is the one in Galveston. I'm easy I don't care east or west beach or mountain just being together is the fun part. Oh and don't forget, if we choose Nashville we could do a couple of days in the mountains at my friends home in Monteagle there is a shuttle from Nashville to Monteagle (it's 90 miles) then we could shuttle back into town and have a couple of days in town going to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Honky Tonks.

Cheryl, keep going forward in recovery and take good care - I agree P'ville is lovely. Pat, sorry to read of your LE flare-up and hope it shifts soon. Ruth, like the group photo with the buffalo in the background. Twohobbies, kindly report in and Sas, surprised to read that, actually, very surprised.
Body balance and pink pilates this morning and late afternoon, yoga class back at the gym.

Pat Glad to hear of your fun 3 year celebration with friends. Ruth 1 hour walk with 2 hour breakfast sounds delightful. I see what you mean about doing this once a week being a good idea. Love the photos. Hope the weather improves. Lilac hope that noisy pothole work is done now. Seems it didn't stop you from your workouts. Soriya123 40 mins walk sounds just right to me. I haven't managed to squeeze in anything yet today. Did a lot yesterday with weights and swimming laps. Very tired today. Hope you feel better Cheryl.
Will be walking or walk/running later when I bring my DS to his all stars baseball practice this evening.

Is anyone else's BCO being very glitchy and wierd today?
0 -
I don't know about glitchy but my active topics page is stuck at about 9 hours ago, when I logged in, it didn't show that I had posted but it's there so yes weird.0 -
Mine is stuck in the past too; plus on some threads I can't get to the 'next' page! Argh!!!!!
0 -
Yes, mine too. My favorite topics shows the most recent post to this thread as 11 hours ago but ruthbru's post is displaying as 24 minutes ago.

I have tried to post on the moderators 'report your glitches' thread, but don't know if it is getting through because it won't let me get to the page it would show up on (page 54....it stops me on page 53). ARGH!!!!!!!!!

I did PM the moderators & they are aware of & working on the problems.

Glad to hear that those of you in the storm paths are ok. Such destruction and heartbreaking stories.
I agree with Cheryl on beach, mountain, wherever..
Went to bootcamp again tonight. Ready to fall into bed now.

30 minute walk this evening. I might not be exercising much this weekend as I am thinking about fasting based on the news below. I don't imagine that exercising a lot will be a good idea when I'm already fighting hunger! Wish me luck with my endeavor.
Research from the USC Davis School of Gerontology indicates that
fasting for two to four days at a time can regenerate your entire immune
system — especially for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. When you starve, the system tries to save energy, and one
of the things it does is recycle a lot of the immune cells that are not
needed, especially those that may be damaged. If you start with a
system heavily damaged by chemotherapy or aging, fasting cycles can
generate, literally, a new immune system."Scientists said fasting "flips a switch," and causes the body to
break down white blood cells (which defend the body against disease) and
create new ones. "It gives the 'OK' for stem cells to begin proliferating and rebuild
the entire immune system," said study author Dr. Valter Longo, a
professor of gerontology at USC. "And the good news is that the body got
rid of the parts that might be damaged or old, the inefficient parts,
during fasting."0 -
Walked about an hour after work; just under 10,000 steps so will march during the news in a bit to get over.
My head is spinning over the range of choices for our next trip.
Night my sculpted friends.

Yes I had the same problem getting to last page, and it seems to have been a problem during the problems earlier.
try https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/58/topic...
and that should get you to this page. I'll send this as a PM to you, so you can get here.

hi gang, we're OK from storms that swept WI. No property damage except the old silver maple tree in the front yard lost several big branches. TG they fell into the road not the house. Went without power for a while but in the scheme of things, we're lucky. ♥

Dear Badger, good to hear that you had no property damage!! Stay safe! Took a great walk today with hills! Hope you all can come to San Diego!! That would be great!! Lots to do there and the surrounding towns!! Torrey Pines State Park is a beautiful place to hike!! Beautiful views of the ocean!!

Glad to hear you're safe Badger.
Looks like things are sort of back to normal. My favorites seemed to be updated and I can now see my posts.
Only stretched today. Too worn out from yesterday.

Okay, I think I've found the perfect vacation resort for next summer:
Wyndham Oceanside Pier offers you authentic Golden State style! Take a dip in
our pool or catch some rays on our sun deck offering spectacular views. Visit
the on-site restaurant with outdoor patio seating, relax in the outdoor hot tub,
have fun in the game room, or work out in the exercise room. Be sure to visit
your owner lounges situated at the top of each tower, both offering breathtaking
oceanside and pier views. If the beach is your thing enjoy 3 miles of beautiful
shoreline, just across the street from the lobby. Enjoy a variety of live
entertainment throughout the year at the amphitheater located across the street
on the beach. Transportation couldn't be easier with the Oceanside train depot
two blocks away providing service to San Diego and Los Angeles.5 miles from Carlsbad, 35 miles north of San Diego & 83 miles south of LA (what I am thinking is that some of the California Girls wouldn't mind picking those of us flying in at an airport or we could just take the train in). If some people want to spend a day or two in San Diego, they could fly into San Diego and spend a day or two first or stay longer, or people who wanted to could take the train down, spend the day & take the train back to the resort.
The weather is always nice, maybe the Nats will be playing in San Diego, then maybe we will see some of the California Girls again, AND get to eat slowdeepbreaths homemade Italian dinner!!!!

Badger, glad things worked out well for you. ms_mez, potholes poorly filled-job done(!) and TwoHobbies interesting link on fasting being a reset and rebuild for the entire immune system - thanks for the info. Odie, boot camp has become very popular over here and a money spinner for one instructor at our gym. She does them in parks and has 50 people at each session with a waiting list of 20+. Apparently, this is how zumba made a few instructors in outlying village halls a bit of quick dosh with 80 people showing up a session when it started and now, zumba numbers for those same classes are between 12-20. I'm a gym relic and if I lived in London, I'd have no freestyle step classes only body step.
Freestyle step and body balance at the gym this morning.

Good choice Ruth, and if you wanted you could fly into John Wayne and drive down with me.
Did Body Jam last night, but really a very low key version, I did have a few coughing attacks but it was nice to at least move around a bit.

Did Insanity (HARD & FUN.....and thank goodness just half an hour!) and picked another garbage can of maple seeds out of the yard......with their enormous seed production, I am kind of surprised that maple trees have not taken over the world!

I would be more than happy to do pickups at the airport!
Also, if you'd like to see my area, there are a few fun things to do. We've got Old Town Temecula which has a lot of cutesy shops, and we also have the Temecula wineries. You can check it out online and see if it's something you'd like to do.

Edited to add: I forgot about the ecological reserve very close to my house! It's called the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve. They have great hiking trails!! They also have an old adobe building you can hike in to see. You can read about that on their website as well.

badger, glad you came through okay. need you around for our Wyndham Oceanside Pier trip next year! Yes, ruthbru, I vote for your find; sounds great. What say you all? Shall we have badger/mom look into dates?
I'm excited already!
0 -
Ruth, I'd vote for that choice. Perfect weather, lots to do within a few hours.
Hour 18 of my fast. Doing OK so far, not terribly hungry. Hopefully killing stray cancer cells and re-generating an awesome immune system!
