    Good morning Ladies---

Wow u guys can sure talk and that's so good. But of course for me to remember u have to know by now I can only talk about what I remember.

What a pretty dress and I love that neckline, one of my favs, and I like the length. Very nice goft.

Oh I think of Annie Me, my GF's dog had to have some eye surgery done but they saved her eye, and wearing tht collar thing is hard on them--But as long as Annie May doesn't have pin, thst's all good. And yes I hate when our furbabies get so scared of the fireworks--

And I do so remember the measles with the dark room and door closed and staying away from everyone, even tho it was my 5th birthday o course my whole family still had a BD party I just didn't go, but my mom did come in to give me cake after they sang HB to me. Italians nothing stops a party.

Susan I'm sorry u'r having a rough time, I hope it passes soon.

Mammray waiting for surgeries is the pits, it would be so nice to just have it done right away, I realize they can't but it would be nice.

Sas u always help us trying to figure things out, u'r great.

OK a question--Isn't SAGE (the word u used to describe our elder) also used to burn in homes to rid the homes of demons and bad spirits. See Chevy u thought it was a compliment. And u know I meant gym shoes, cuz if they were gum shoes I'd be sticking to the ground in this heat. O course sticking to the ground would be a plus for me.

The fireworks were beautiful last nite and we're only about 100 yards rom them there are a couple of boats and they just go crazy and everyone in the neighborhood around the lake has so many people over and the kids sit right by the lake. So many of us and so much food and so much to drink--I kept to my water except for one lemonade and vodka, my sister had that and a few glasses of wine too and we had such a good time just being together is good. And my "boss" was of course there--he is my cousin's grandson with his beautiful pregnant wife--So u try to talk with everyone but it's hard, but I did pretty good, now I woke up  this morning almost paralyzed everything is either knotted up or in spasms but it was worth it.. I'r no occasion, just where my cousin lives they have this once a year but not on July 4th, got home about 1am She lives in Island Lake which is about a hr from here, And of course Joey won't miss it he goes with me--Marty was not doing so good so they stayed home, but we drove with my sister and BIL. So today is another I'm not doing anything today--no phones they can go to voicemail, escept now I want all the food from last nite with the sweet table next to it. For all day long/

That rainbow ws so beautiful, I love to see rainbow but that was really something. Thanks for the pic. and Luv I like the way u said "only 100" holy chit, that's so hot, it was humid last nite but later actually and we could all feel that sweaty feeling. And the temps weren't so high.

OK I'll close for now I'm still tired.

For anyone in a comprimised immune state you need to wait until the immune system is stronger.

CDC quiz to see what vaccines are right for you. I took it and it did identify the minimum of what I needed.

    http://www2.cdc.gov/nip/adultimmsched/

I think starting withe quiz is a good point than you can pick and chose what you want. The web cdc site just on vaccines is huge. The quiz page has a hyerlink at the bottom that takes you to a page that has personalized answers for you

Phyllyonherwaytohouston and I talked vaccines, she checked with her folks at MD ANDERSON.  She pointed out the shingles vaccine is not recommended in a low immune state

This is a link to the CDCpneumonia  vaccine page.

this is a link to the shingles vaccine--NoNO for those on chemo/rads and a few other things identified.

mammaRay---hey Kent State--I saw you were from Ohio-I was going to ask where you are. I moved from Detroit to Cleveland in 1972 after getting married. Finished nursing school at Fairview General in west Cleveland. Lived in Broadview Hieghts. Then moved to Akron. Worked at Akron General and Cuyhoga Falls General. Left Ohio in 1992. Have family left in North Canton. Used to train Paramedics and EMT-a's. So, know folks all over the area. If we talk long enough we may have people in common LOL. Lived in west Akron near Fairlawn. Duh can't think of the major roads. Also, miss Swensons, Skyway, and WestPoint Market. Are you excited about LeBron coming home? I still get flack from Ds that LeBron and Ds would have been classmates at St V-M's  we hadn't of moved.

Where are you going for treatment and whose your docs? It'd be a hoot if anyone I knew was still left. I still miss the change of seasons. POOR me it's always sunny here in Florida

hey Owls, been off the boards all week and see I've missed a lot.

Shocked and sad about FBB.  Hope our cards bring some comfort to her family, knowing how well-loved she was, instead of adding to their grief.

Susan, sorry new chemo sucks, hope you're feeling less yucky today.

Patty, glad the RFA worked and you are finally pain-free!

Tip for iced coffee, use coffee ice cubes.  Put cold coffee into an ice-cube tray and freeze it.  That way it doesn't dilute your iced coffee.  I also use a one-cup pour-over filter cone and it makes the best coffee.

Love you ladies, welcome MammaRay and Stix! ♥

Good Morning!!  I'm just checking in this morning, probably still going to be hit and miss for me for a while!!  There are a few other sites that I have been lurking and I just stopped in to check them!!

You ladies have been a busy bunch!!  No way I could ever catch up, so on days when I'm here I'll just pop in a second and say hello and when/if I get back to full swing you will know it!!

I did see that Chevy had asked about me, thanks!!  and that Sas told her I was taking a break, which is true, thanks Sas for letting her know!

I do miss all the chatter here, but just need a little space!!

Good Morning Girls!  I've een off and really busy too.  Not gonna lie, been in the rabbit hole a lot too.  Come out and see all sorts of chit going on......................................

Blondie I so respect what you are doing and really wish you the best.

Susan, you are a tough cookie!

Here's Bradley again, already smiling when you talk to him.

Susan, glad you're feeling better already. Don't push it.

Tang, sorry you're in a mood. Hopefully it won't last long. Otherwise, how you doing, drain out yet? I'm sure post a big YIPEE when that happens. As much as we hate the drains, be glad it's there. Can you imagine all that fluid building up inside?  (Oh yeah, you did!)

Today I have to work on a newsletter for my quilt guild, that's my job. It's the third year so I'm not going to do it again when this term is over.

It was 103 yesterday, suppose to stay warm all week. We get some clouds but all that does is causes lightening in the mountains. They had a big fire start yesterday. Makes for yucky air quality. Hopefully in a couple more months it will start raining if we aren't all fried to a crisp!

Have a good day all, I get to go to another play, this time South Pacific.

NETTIE, On the medical stuff you do have a reason to talk with your doc's,  ABSOLUTELY supported by ASCO guidelines and the info from Spine -Health.

ASCO sections in the boxes say that scanning is not appropriate if the patient is asymptomatic. -------your very symptomatic. You have pre treatment back pain that got worse after treatment. The MO sent you back to PCP. PCP has dropped the ball big time. You have a lifelong spine problem. No radiograph evidence of change. Please, review Spine-Health link. You are at high risk for Facet Syndrome. I didn't put a link to that, but put that phrase into the search box on Spine-health web page and it'll bring it up.

The chiropractic therapy could actually aggravate your spinal problems if your spine has changed. The long distant past films that the chiro doc did, doesn't tell the story of what your spine is like in 2014. The fact that you can't even remember when the films were done tells me they are very old.

Chiro's in order to get paid have to have done films. The bad part is they can take films and use them for a basis for payment for years and years.. The insurance company doesn't demand recent evidence. Your films could be 10 years old(whatever age). Not good. Particularly when you have a change in symptoms.

The definitive test for your spinal evaluation is the MRI. Adding that you may ask for with and without contrast. It'd be a stretch to get a bone scan or PET. Your care at this point has put you at futher risk of spinal injury.

Hope this helps------------- coping this section to your box, original sent by PM

Nettie if you somehow can get you to the spine center in Plano or Fort Worth. Their going to know the best how to evaluate you.  I'll compare it to my thyroid treatment. The area docs did okay, but the BIGWIG doc at Moffit had a complete different evaluation method and treatment protocol. EVERYTHING was different with BIGWIG doc.  You will be more satisfied overall by going to the spine centers that manage scoliosis everyday. Your PCP has already demonstrated she doesn't have a clue. You would be battling to get her to respond.

The diagnostic imaging departments at the big centers will even take better films.  Way better films. They will likely identify each level with very fine measurements.for evidence of spinal nerve impingement. Identifying width of spinal canal. Which would identify any cord impingement. Lastly, how the spine impacts the thoracic cage and heart.

Nettie put this all in the boxes on page 523 in case you want to run it off.

Sas, thanks for the shout out. Golf tourney was good, I was trying to enjoy the beauty & soak up all of Mother Nature. Last year I had to cancel because of bc.

Losing FierceBlueBird has been so very hard. I will look for an obituary from her town. Also, if anyone wants to send a sympathy card, I have her address.

Just a quick comment. Sassy the Spine Center at Plano (affiliated with Baylor Scott & White Health) is where neighbor and other neighbor's daughter had surgery. I wasn't going to mention anything specific but since you did. One did great and other not so much but one has many other problems besides scoliosis. I think next door is near my age, neighbor's dtr. prob early 50s judging by kids' ages. Surely there are specialized hosp in LA. What is the Ft. Worth spine center your thinking of? I do know Baylor does spec. spine surgeries at the Baylor Surgical Hosp. at Ft Worth (separate from main hosp). Church friend had surg. there evidently pretty intricate.

    Gone for food.

    good afternoon ladies

I feel GREAT !   Have had a wonderful couple days. Kids went to TX with mil. Dh and I get 1 week alone.  We have never ever had that.  Woohoo.  No pain !!!  I feel so alive.  I lost over 1 year laying in bed all the time - now the pain is gone I got a lot if stuff to do. Went clothes shopping last night. I have lost some weight and nothing fits. Gotta wear a belt and still hold my pants on eith one hand.  Size 2 clothes are too big now so I had to go to the little girls section. Actually they had some  pretty fly stuff there.

Susan - sorry new tx is being so hard on you.  Hoping they are causing those dang cancer cells to curl up and die and for them to  hang the white flag in surrender.

Blondie - hugs.  Are you feeling any better ?  How long for the chemo to be out of your body ?  Hoping you are up doing something you enjoy.

Chevy - love the double rainbow. Is the fence painted now ?

Smarty - that's Bradley is adorable.  Love the dress. Thanks for the pic. Wow you look very tall and beautiful

    Badger - thanks

Nettie - hello. Glad to see you are still checking in some. Hoping the back pain is getting better. Back pain sucks !!!! Controls every movement of any part of our bodies.

    Hello to all I missed.

Susan-I hope you start feeling better...Chemo SUCKS!!!

My drain is still in, and I'm starting to have pain again in my left "breast"...that is why the ID doc put me on these antibiotics Friday afternoon. I called them and she just called it in for the weekend. I see PS tomorrow and I know he doesn't want the drain in anymore. I was at 40 yesterday, it's lower but still alot. This morning I already had 20 when I woke up. Sucks and yes I do know what happens when it all builds up!!

    love and hugs to everyone!

    Love the baby pics. :)

Thanks for keeping us up to date Hole

Yes Smarty!  Bradley is a keeper!

HIO!  Hope you are feeling better!  So you actually DO play golf?  I am so confused.    I think a lot of us posted to FBB on one of these threads!  Yes, it's really been hard.... just didn't feel like posting..... but you know, she is probably doing a lot better flying around in heaven!    She tried her damndest, but I think there were just too many things going on, and she couldn't do it anymore......   Now she can rest... and fly with the angels.

Nettie, I just came back to the computer. I'm going to write the response on the board.

hate it when I write a response on a pm in it is blocked. Won't know if this is blocked till I hit submit.

I have a new thought--YAY It's cool. By going to the spine center. The docs have the EXTREME expertise in the musculoskeletal system.

They will give your spine a proper look see because your spine needs to have a proper baseline exam. Remember you are going to need it to be in great shape when you get old.

You, also, can express your concern about METS. They are the pro's on skeleton. I can really see that they would be mush more cooperative on covering all bases. It's there business. No stone on turned.

Yes, I'm trying to get your hopes up. You have a right to have your concerns listened to and evaluated by a doc.

You have an underlying medical condition scoliosis that affects the whole body. The spine spinning as yours did was stablized as a young one. What wasn't communicated to you was that as an aging adult your condition could change. When you read the S-H.com pages. RE: Adult Scoliosis , you will read things can deteriorate. I am familiar with Facet syndrome b/c of when I worked in the surg center that also housed pain management. When the scoliosis pages described the adult scoliosis deterioration the problem of Facet Syndrome(FS) is included in the description. It was an "NO SHIT" moment. FS can only be properly evaluated by the inclusion of MRI studies.

A symptom that is associated with scoliosis changes in the adult is PAIN. The adolescent patients don't experience pain ( that was new for me--looks painful).

Your pain got worse after treatment--pretty sure you had rads. If the rads table was not body friendly. You had to get on a step stool. Think- about the body mechanics of the stepping, twisting to turn to sit on the table, laying on a very hard surface, Then all the mechanics getting off the table with a spine that would be prone to have a problem.

Look you are near an answer. I know you want a break from docs, but you need that back in good shape for your old age. Give yourself the best present you can. An answer.

I use Spine Health as a learning/teaching site. I even recommended it to DS the lawyer, to use it for his law purposes b/c it is so good.

But when I plugged in scoliosis into google the spine centers in Plano and Fort Worth came up in the top pull of info. But there's something wrong with their web page it wouldn't load right. But they had Scoliosis in their name. Pretty specific to what the practice focuses on.

    AND your in Texas.

Hope this goes through, but will post on the board to be safe.
