Hi Peppermint!  And Cammi, are you still there.... I mean here?  You exercise?  right.....  How?  By lifting your arm to drink your coffee?    By moving your legs off the bed and into your little fuzzy slippers?

Just come over here, big girl.....  I'll take you out in the garden, and you can help me move a few pots and sweep up stuff...  and paint the back gate.... and..... other things.

Just don't FALL on those "old"  bones....  I am wise, when it comes to that stuff...

Chevy I love family pics. Thanks for sharing.

Yes these old bones get exercise, only the ones I learned from PT tho, for my crazy LE and my back--but it really doesn't do much good. Pain is still there. Oh I talked to a chiro about my back, I guess he was honest, he said he could relieve some pain but he couldn't really help there is to much damage. At least he didn't get me started on a nowhere road to optimism. Oh miss Chevy and lets not forget my intestine moving up my side moving my liver into my rib cage, u remember my flying organdas along with my spinning kidney (and stones) and my crazy bladder, Oh and my big D all the time. Or did u forget I'm mamed--I wish I was Auntie Mame, but I'm just mamed. Oh and my sever arthritis and my one knee that 's all screwed up and there is more and we're still talking about u'r hip that u broke cuz u were pole dancing, so it was entirely your fault, u said u retired from that OOOOOHHH or was it more that dancing with a pole, It's amazing how u can hurt a hip girating it in all different directions. Hmmmm

Phyloontheroadagain I hope u'r where u should be and keep us posted on what's going on, even tho Chevy and I aren't clear on this we will be if u post us.

Ok this post was all about me, but I don't like anyone in the rabbit hole---no cookies in there just carrots, which are good for us, but we still need a cookie sometimes.

Chevy, great photo...yes, he most likely got the staph from all his scrapes & cuts, cause he try's to do things he has no buisness messing with. This is a man who is disabled from the get go... Degenerative joint & disc disease. Can barely walk, but will climb up ladders and work on something that he cannot fix. He knows it, but stubborn as a mule.

Susan, on photo # 54, on Chevys link, tomato bash in Bulgaria..

Lots to talk about but I need to get to hospital.. My big ? Is... What is a gas well? Phylilloroadtrippin is speaking a different language. A gas station ? How do tires melt? We have very hot weather here, the tires do not melt.

Thanks for all the good wishes, this is going to be a long haul, needs a pic line, 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. The vac thing is scary looking, lots of blood coming out of the knee.

    MORNING OWLETTES :)

bADGER thanks on the coffee thing Hope everything is Okay in Wisconsin. Did you know I moved Nettie to texas, b/c phyllsohot melted her tires and the owls were flying around. On the owls, no ones seeing it,but me and Paws. Another owlie is in WI, suggested she PM you. Told her you were a party animal.

FBB sat right on the skateboard owl that's  riding things out.

M-RAY DID YOU MISS MY POST ON NORTHEAST OHIO---YOO--HOO. Kent State girlie!

My head is numb from yesterday, whew, we have so much thinking going on without any mind altering substances. Ah that's the problem,

Hi1--glad it was Dh that didn't have sx. Would hate to have problem related to sx. Awful the problem that infections present. Still ask about all the other stuff. i.e Picc or port. This is likely going to be extended antbx's. Protect his arm veins from being worn out. Vancomycin, probable drug he's on,  is tough on veins. Also, uncomfortable. Likely on another big gun antibx. That's the usual protocol.

They must have done the quick test for staph, to soon for a culture to grow. Sensitivity should be back 72 hrs after the original culture.

If plan is discharge soon, get hospital social worker in today to start plan, so, no last minute troubles.

Very  very smart for you to go home and sleep. Very smart.

    ---------

I keep trying to improve DBF life by getting him above the radar into what we all consider normal life. It keeps messing him up. Everything keeps backfiring. A credit union is now after him for a car that his wife got in the divorce settlement from 18 years ago. He didn't know enough that he should have asked to be off the loan in the divorce decree. Wife defaulted. Ds his willing to work the case, but it's a mess.

    CHEVY can you fix this?

2222222222222I wrote a Pm this am re: your questions----long one. Wiped out by blocking. My limits must not be based on the 12 am clock time.

Cami so happy you got to partyyyyyyyyy without  the D interfering.

    JWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

No PM's today Block is already up.

What are you ladies talking about with the flying owls and melting tires and all kinds of parties and things!!  It's terrible to go off grid for a while because when you come back, nothing makes sense!  Oh wait, did we ever make sense!!

Sas - I'm going to try to read on Spine Health today, hope I can find what you are talking about!  I really, really don't understand about your PM's being limited!  Kind of upsets me, I know these websites have rules and all, but basically I thought we had a freedom of speech, but I guess when you are on someone elses site they can do as they please!  I guess they have a reason

Hope everyone has a quiet, peaceful, pleasant week!!  As much as possible anyway!!  Hope problems are solved and pain is lessened and treatments are kind!!

Maddy in thrifting. If you see something that appeals to you, you have a use for it, and the cost is acceptable, buy it. I follow glass b/c I love it and the history. I gift allot b/c I have no more room. Junkers like the DEAL i.e get anything for a pittance of a perceived value is fun. For example, Replacements.com may list the Waterford Millenium plates value at 40.00$ each. BUT value of Real Property(real estate) or Personal property is established at POINT OF SALE. I paid 2.50$ each. The point of sale value is 2.50$(not 40$). If I sell them for higher, that then becomes the point of sale value. I may insure them for higher, but that value would only be established at settlement of a claim.

Because I love glass history, I feel in some small way I'm saving historical glass from oblivion by putting the piece back into use. Plus, I love the chase of finding the manufacture, learning their history, and then boring people with those history stories. People that love me, put up with those stories for a couple of minutes before their eyes glaze over.

The newest fun in the last few years is the unexpected gifting of the glass. The recipients have fun. I have fun gifting. It's inexpensive, and doesn't break my budget. Therefore, I feel no guilt. A sparkling piece of glass that has lost it's sparkle through time, becomes wonderful again with just a washing, and finds a new home in which to be appreciated

I even bore people here when I post pics and the stories :)

Slow down a bit, let those tires cool off!!!!

I *think* a gas well is some kind of drilling rig.

    luvmygoats Posts: 2,484

I think Phyllismeltingtires was just being ironic about tires melting. Know it can get hot in Nebraska as well. Due for bit cooler today and rain by midweek.

2TA, Pawprint, Blessings - wish we could send some rain your way too. We are really a bit better this year. I haven't seen any burn bans around. I would be madder than a wet hen if someone set off fireworks as dry as you are. We have had bans both July 4th and New Year's Eve and sheriff's dept pretty serious about it. I have a vol. fireman now on the cul-de-sac so I know no one would be violating it - wink, wink.

I met the biggest dog I've seen in a long time yest. Neighbor down the street had his hay baled. He invited DH and I down to glean the leftovers - we got 7 large trash bags full just raking/bagging. Also arranged to buy 30 bales of his hay/have used it in past years - he didn't even bother baling last year. Good thing is he stores it too until we need it. Same price I paid 2 weeks ago. He has a Pyrenees cross that weighs about 130#. Sweetest dog - Beau (or Bo maybe). Goats are happily eating his hay now. I think most people use about the same stuff on their fields so not much trouble changing hay. Not like changing your dog's food every day to a diff. brand. Coastal hay is pretty much self limiting. They like it but it's not like it's a great "treat" so they don't overeat.

Who asked about Phyllis and the gas trucks/gas wells. I think at least the original well drilling is slowing some in Texas - at least N. Texas. Oklahoma is going gangbusters. They think that's why they are having at least daily earthquakes up there now. Here's a pic. of what she's talking about. They just litter the landscape. Kinda fun at night - they look like Christmas lights. But traffic and NOISE 24 hours a day. And those lights if your live near it. Never had one really close to the house (knock on wood). Once all this contraption comes down left with smaller usually fenced/graveled area but the water trucks continue to deliver/take away the waste water. Texas roads are a wasteland from all the fracking traffic. I couldn't find a better pic that would post - the one I wanted was blocked from posting. It's hard to get perspective in how much footprint these take up.

Sassy you and my DM would have had great discussions about glass.

HI1 - sounds like Sassy said that DH's docs jumped right on his case. Bravo for them. And don't beat yourself up. Like Chevy amazing you got him there at all. Take care of yourself. Prayers continue for both of you.

Tangarooni - Loved the Zip A  Dee Doo Dah. My dumb birds just found the birdfeeder I filled up last week.

Prayers for all our Owlettes getting tests this week, rads, chemo. Traveling mercies for those doing that. Aging parents. KIds being as Cami says chits. I need to get some housework done. You know those undies I was going to do last week - yup still not done.

Sassy I see owl on skateboard, with Fierce BB's Bluebird above. No flying owls for me.

Good morning Ladies (and others, if that applies)!

Yes Patty, Dad saw Mom for their anniversary. I got there too late to join them, besides, I think Dad needed to be alone with her without me around, that is, as alone as he could be with all the residents and staff around. By the time I saw him late afternoon, he was in the zombie-state. I think if I hadn't have shown up, he would have stayed in and forgotten to eat. He didn't eat much at dinner, but he got out. We went over together on Saturday, he got to spend some time with her. One of the residents must have thought I lived there, asked me to walk her around. As I walking her in the hallways, her apparent son came up (hadn't seen him earlier) and asked me if was taking her outside - of course not, it was over 100* and humid. I can walk her around, she's not my relative! Dad also went over yesterday while I worked in the house (he hates to see me doing things for him so I usually wait until he falls asleep then do what I can if it's a quiet activity), then went over to join them (we had a big bag of stuff, mainly clothes that needed to be taken there, left them by the front door and of course, he didn't take them). One of my brothers and his son are coming to visit first week in August so I had lots of organizing to do. Finally got to all the framed pictures, sorted them and determined where they should be placed, called up a maintenance order so they will get hung this week.

Chevy, the secret is have two (or more) tabs open at the same time.....

Sassy, just hate it when I finally get something written and it just disappears, like it never existed. Poof, gone. Any clues about length of ban? Do you have write an essay (or some form of punishment) to get the privileges back? Like the old school days.... Thanks for trying, though..

    image

Well, looks like my morning is off to a strange start.... Gotta leave you lovely ladies, need to get ready to brave the freeway crawl for the dr appts, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. We shall see what we shall see.....

Nettie, thanks for the inspiring song/video, needed something positive this morning...

Somebody, please help me understand: why do people drink to oblivion when they know it's only going to lead to sickness......?

LMG--yes, I must seem crazy LOL. When the pics in the box move after they have been "SET"  and submitted-----Then when the post appears, they've moved somewhere else in the box---that's what I call flying. BB's bluebird flew on top of the skateboard owl. I didn't put it there. it appeared that way after I put Chevy's quote in and hit submit. I was going to leave it that way. But tried to fix something else  and BB's bluebird went back to it's original position and I can't budge it.

I know it's a computer thingy. But when it happened, I thought of FBB telling me/us "Cluck'em, we can ride it out" :) Plus, if you put that together with what Chevy said. It was as if FBB was acknowledging what Chevy said. Computer thingy, but it helped me

Would have loved to talk glass with your DM :)

Maddy, I won't approach the Mods on anything re: the ban. The ban was b/c of usurpation of my free speech rights and they don't get that. Contact would acknowledge their power. Plus, they have the ban and delete button. No discourse can occur. Voltaire, Edmund Burke, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison were apparently bypassed in BCO's understanding of how important words are to the Social Contract.

The extended learning re:Terms of Use statements research was that throughout the world the same language is used in these statements. Every time we click an accept or I agree box for a Tof U clause, we give up our right to free speech. That was a bit of a shocker for me. I was oblivious to it before the ban. From this perspective the ban was worth learning that. Not that I can do anything with the learning, but teach others that this exists. With a belief that change will occur.

Voltaire's quote: I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Yes that was the point I was trying to make earlier by stating that I don't understand how they nullified our freedom of speech, but as I said, I guess that is their right by owning the site!!  But like Voltaire's quote, I will do the same!!

  • sas-schatzi
    sas-schatzi Posts: 15,889

Nettie it is the right of any site to use a Terms of Use clause. They must include the Freedom of Speech clause in the USA. It 's not required that the exact words of the clause are stated. The TOS must include the elements of the clause. All the TOS's I reviewed do so.  The law allows then the use of discretion by the owner of the site. Discretion and free speech are contradictory. But it is lawful.

I had never read the "Freedom of Speech" clause. Google it. It, also, was part of the learning experience. I know now what it exactly is, again from this perspective it was a positive.

So just relax, I don't even know what TOS's ARE!  And don't tell me, because, well...... you know.......

    thanks for llistening...
