OH, GOOD GRIEF! I could have sworn I posted Happy Birthday wishes but it seems I did not. But count me in with those who are celebrating! (Crap memory - head injury!!!)

Speaking of head injury, I get my MRI tomorrow morning. We'll find out what's inside that skull of mine.

What's in there right now, I can tell you, is not good..... Sick

I was hosing down the patio this evening, trying to get a dead leaf to move. It wasn't a leaf. It was a giant turd. I called DH, who examined it with me (we are like the Dick Tracy of chit - must be a mountain thing) and determined it was possum poop.

Good Lord, the smell nearly knocked both of us over.

I sprayed it with Lysol, DH gloved up and got a Ziplock bag, and I scooped it up with a trowel. Then I sprayed the patio and the trowel with Lysol again and let it sit. I hosed everything down then sprayed AGAIN... and it STILL stinks!

Did you ever get a smell into your brain? DH wonders if it will show up on the MRI.

I am off to shower, wash my hair, and do a sinus rinse. Bleaghhhh!!!!

p.s. Set out dishes of ammonia in case Mr. Possum decides to revisit the scene of the crime.

    Chevster and Sassafrass!

PawPrint- I would ask for a port or something if it is going to be a permanent treatment. Seems like they would be able to figure out why you are not absorbing the iron.. sorry to hear it isn't improving much. Snuggs and Annie Mae are so adorable.

Chevy- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!Did you get that fence painted? Sorry you had to watch your grandmother change that way. Get your hearing aid fixed! ID theft- what a mess. These thieves- if they spent half of the energy they put into ripping others off, they might solve some real issues in this world.

Susan- Good to hear that your DH had an incident free surgery. Awesome news about your daughter! Are you getting any relief from the SEs? Send some of that cool air south please.

PattyP- So glad you had some pain-free time!

3rdtime- Hope you are feeling good right now.

Stix- How is your recovery going?

Enerva- Your photos are the best! you always share such relaxing images. and the baby and dog- too cute!

Luv- my BF got me a white noise machine- he hated the fan being on all the time. it is great as it is small enough to take with me anywhere. Hope you are feeling better. Great rainbow photo! We keep getting cheated out of rain. I can't wait for winter. Any pics of goats? I love them!

Sas- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Maddy and the mods got me pointed to the central contact list. I'm still happy to be the contact relay for this thread. Roll call is a great idea. I got 2 rude comments.. I shouldn't be surprised at that. Some ppl just hate life. You find some great stuff thrifting! I've never heard of Pneumovax, thanks for that info and thanks for telling us about your talks with FBB. I am still upset about her. Be nice to the GF ;)

Spookies- I'm like you- love a fan going on me all the time. I even like it in the winter. Flo was my favorite as a kid! I said "kiss my grits" all the time- even when it did not make sense :) LE is the most annoying thing about bc i think. A continuous reminder of your illness.

Cami- How nice that your boss brings YOU coffee! i need a boss that does that. I use sage in my house once a year to clear out all the bad juju.

2nd- thanks so much for all your help.

MammaRay- so awesome that you adopted your son! I think adoption is such a great thing to do. I get the same way, up and down, ambivalent, then all the way in the other direction at times. I never know where i will be on a day-to-day basis. I hope it passes.

Blessings- I am so sorry your head injury is making things so hard on you. I hope that it is not a long-term issue for you.

    44444- glad to see you.

Wren- I fostered for years- so much work but so rewarding. Those kittens are the cutest!

Smaarty- How is your weight loss going? I hope your girls don't cause you any more pain. Your sister's dress is beautiful. Bradly is adorable!

Phgraham - Burnin' rubber! How is Houston?

Blondie- how are you? Hoping your breathing gets easier.

Dutch- would love to see your woodwork!

Tang- how is everything going? I hope your mood has lightened.

Badger- coffee cubes are the best! I use a Toddy coffee maker, takes all the acid out of the brew so no sugar is even needed.

Nettie- enjoy your break, hope you are feeling better.

Holein1- glad your tourney was fun. How is your DH doing? Staph is such a pain!

MostlyMom- such a sweet photo of those sisters. I can't imagine trying to get through chemo as a child.

I got stung by a wasp and it really did a number on my leg. I had not been stung since i was a kid, and was not sure if I was still allergic. Had a "medium" allergic reaction, but will be getting an epipen just in case it happens again. no fun.

But super fun: I went to go see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, with Edie Brickell, and PAUL SIMON showed up too! omg! I am still excited about it. Was an amazing show!

So - anyone that wants to provide me your contact info, please PM me. If anyone wants to be my "backup", let me know.

Still thinking about FBB, and how much you all mean to me. I am so lucky to know you all, even if we never meet in person. You've been a source of strength, advice, courage, and support that I did not expect. <3  Cancer took a lot from me, but I got all of you, so, I think I came out ahead.

Well SURE Blessings! After you hosed down the dang
thing! And sittin' in the SUN all day, I presume? Yes.... smells permeate
your brain, and it will be with you forever. So did you see the little
critter DO it? So LittleDick and BigDickT are just blaming some poor
little Possum? You COULD be wrong you know!

NOW, he has marked his territory! Your house is HIS! I
don't mean to scare you, but I've heard of these things happening... They can
grow to be giant size you know! You have to feed him now.... put left-overs
out... make him your new pet!

Oh wait.... maybe these gals don't even know who Dick
    Tracy is.... ???

And let me know if they find anything in your head! Then
maybe you will be re-assured that you WILL grow up to be like me!

See you guys? She is alREADY talking like me!

Hi JWOW! Thank you for our Bday wishes! No, by then, I
knew what was happening... Before she "changed" she was a cranky old little
German lady, who was just the boss of the world. We were all there for her
commands.... But she "changed" into this little frail, sweet most sensitive
being I have ever known.... I could hardly wait to see her, and to help her...
she had just lost all of her memory, and even her daily "things" were hard for
    her to grasp.....

Like putting on 2 dresses, or forgetting her shoes... or
losing (hiding her lipsticks) and couldn't find them again.. So her "changing"
was a gift to me... I think!

So good that you talk to EACH of us! I don't think we
    have heard from Stix....

Stung by a Wasp? I used to get those a lot too! I
finally DID get an EpiPen, but you know those things expire, and I never got to
use it! Those are for in case you see a Wasp, you stick THEM with the thing!
Just hold his little legs, and inject that adrenalin into HIS butt, and see how
    he likes THAT!

THANK you miss Sass! You too! We are all so fortunate,
well ME especially, to have this "place" to talk to each other all the time...
we always know our friends are here...

And Cammi? WTH?????? What are you talking about BANANA'S
about? See you guys, it ISN'T me! Now she's related to a banana... And she
    walks amongst us.

That company that you sent that to is going to ignore you,
you know.......... they will just assume you were having a bad day... and be
    correct.

Yes GG.... Well guess that covered EVERYones birthday for
    the whole year!

Oh? We had SailingWind here! Morning gal! Don't
leave.... we are just getting started...

YES Cammi, she is new... we can't scare her.... so we
    have to be nice....

Thank you 22222222nd! I love your
    pictures!

I am meeting my Daughter today at Red Robin! Yaaaaay! We
are having a Birthday Party for "Mom"! About 6 or our friends will be there for
my surprise party....... She is Terrible at keeping a secret...but perfect in
    every other way...

So we will all meet and have fun..... wish all you gals
    were there too!

SAS - sounds like you had an awesome bday.  Yea.

Jwoo - your back. Sweet. I thought you must have gotten buried under all those addresses and names.

Blondie - hope your breathing is better

Susan. - hope you and dd are having am awesome time.

Hello to all I missed.  Hope you are having a great day.

I am still feeling great.  No back pain.  Been out and about doing all kinds of things.  Still have a lot  of nausea but I am blaming that on the huge decrease in pain med.

    Hootie hoo

Oh Cami (Cammi), there was an email incident at the hospital where I work.  It was a typo.  It seems that someone (not me of course) was intending to discuss patients being sent from another institution.  Instead of patients it said panties.  It went out to some important people.  Most just replied with understanding and humor.  Her immediate supervisor told her should have used spell check.  Spell check changed it to panties and she missed out and clicked ok.

Dutch hahaha, I like those things. My sister's main job at the college is a proofreader so when I first got my computer she was always correcting me---what a job, right Chevy, well finally I told her to shut up or I wouldn't email her anymore--but the goofy part is (and they don't know) is she's almost blind in one eye and her good eye is awful, she uses the biggest magnifying glass every made, And she still ctches mistakes. Here's another stupid story--my oldest brother ws a chemist but he ended up in a large paint factory matching all the barrels of paint and they had to be exactly right--well again no one knew but he was color-blind, but he could tell shades matching even if he didn't know the right color, well he worked hard and became the president of the company. I tell that to Joey cuz he's color blind. But he did go to premed but those days cuz he was colorblind he couldn't see the color red so when it was a blood thing he was lost. Damn he would have been the dr. in our family. My other brother (one of his BFs) is a Dr. and he was the chief of staff in one of the hospitals around here now he's the Coronor of this county so I usually get my Dr. to go to from him. So I feel comfortable with them. That's as close to anything we get. OK I'm blabbering gain, I shall stop.

Susan, you know that's not an owl, right? How are your SEs doing? Hope you feeling better.

Tang, where are you girl? How'd your appt go? They take out the drain? Plug up your hole (shut up Cami!) (that sounds so wrong when I do it) ? How much longer on the chemo?

Blessings, when will you know something from the scan? How you going to remember it?

Jwoo, lost 3 lbs this week, biggest one I've had and that's crazy because I didn't do a whole lot of exercise this past week. So I've lost 33 lbs so far. I'm at 171 so maybe another 5-10 more then that's it. I need to go buy some jeans, had to throw out all my pants. Can't take them in enough to fit right.  The gut should disappear when he does the fat grafting. Need to save a little for him!

Did I tell you I bought two bras. It is helping so the girls aren't being a PITA now. Also sleeping in a tshirt and that's helping too. Here's me this morning. And yes I have panties on, they're black.  It's hard to take a pic of yourself without having the camera in your face. Got to work on those thighs! But I'm happy with the way things are going. Oh yeah! Get to eat real food now. Trying to decide if it's chicken or shrimp for today. How exciting!

    image

My big typo at work was a letter I was sending out to 20,000 architects. It had something to do with public notices and it went out with pubic notices. It was proofread by many and didn't get caught until most of the letters had been mailed. Also by auto correct.

Everybody! Have a good day, stay out of the heat. It suppose to be 104 today and like that all week!

Nettie, it's opifast weight lost program, mostly liquid diet. Only 960 calories a day. Today we start adding real food in, so only protein and a cooked veggie.  Exercise is a big thing, mostly I do walking but never going to get 10,000 steps like we're suppose to. I do swim aerobics now and that's help a lot.

Welcome sailingWind. Tell us a little about yourself.

  • I'm 68. Moved to Phoenix from Maine last year with my husband. Learned last week my oncotype score is 17 so no chemo needed. Starting radiation next week. Meds will be needed very strong ER and PR  plus.  And minus Her2. No close friends here yet. Around grand kids a lot. Know more kids than adults!
