Enerva, you are so talented!   Unfortunately I do find myself limited by my scars when it comes to clothes.  My upper tattoo dot from rads shows with most anything other than a t-shirt.

Sailing, that ink drawing is incredible.

Yes, luv, I recovered from pushing the scooter.  It was just over a mile.  My scooter is sitting inmy garage.  I'm just too darn busy to take it to be looked at.

Sailing good, it sounds like u'r Doc is right on top of this so hopefully it will get cleared soon. It is a PITA tho.

Dutch leave the scooter alone for now--just stop overdoing.

Cami, eventually it will get cold and I'll put it away.  Yesterday I was going have a lazy day but....the call came.  My nephew needed help cutting 4x4s and decking boards for his eagle scout project.  He is making benches and a wheelchair accessible table for use on one of the trails here.  That took a good parts of the afternoon.  I met my daughter for her break at work and my son and his gf came to visit.

Sailing-----------hope your doing okay, Seems to me you were working on an infection. Who am I mixing up?

Animalvr- WELCOME HERE.If your brain isn't working right then you will fit right in here.YOUR our kind of girl. LOL

I believe that mainstream medicine hasn't much of a clue as how the whole endocrine system affects us.The TSH is the mainstream medicine gold standard. It shouldn't be run alone. Shound be run with T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, Auto antibodies & thryoglobulin, Cortisol. Other tests run at same time B12, Folate, Iron panel with ferrintin(if not in panel). HBA1C for sugar evaluation should be run at least once a year if not diabetic, then every 3 months if diabetic.

Our symptoms/problems can have so many origins. What has solidified this last year for meis:  1. that our care is fractured by having to many docs with there own individual body part/system. 2. the ability of docs to intergrate what they learn from the tests, to what the patient is telling them, ranges from strong to absent. 3. we are lucky if we can survive or life saving treatment without harm occurring.

My goal in the next few months is to establish a plan of monitoring my health through minimum but appropriate testing and labs I want done once a year.

    -------------------------------------

Hi1 Marks are wonderful when they are there, but they weren't always put on. Some manufactures always did . Some never. Some whenever they decided too. Like LMG's saying about Anchor Hocking. They just didn't mark allot.

That's why I think, first of all, it has to be a piece that pleases you, by it's beauty. That little plate that I got for .25 cents, every time I sit and look at it. I get lost in the wonder of how the light reflects and the texture of the patterns within the pattern, the artistry. Would I pay the $40 it was listed at. Not likely. So, for me in my cheapness, it's a way to access beauty, That I would otherwise deny myself.

    ---------------------

Enerva---I think you should test the waters on a price somewhere above $100.00. Go to a boutique upscale shop and look at their prices. Hey you could ask a Kardashian what they would pay for one. Or send one, to one of them.............Then they can fight over it............Then you can become this houte couture diva. LOL.....with lots and lots of money.

Hi all, Ziggy made it to his flight this morning and he is now in Washington. If you see Ziggy at a pet adoption event Wren give him a hug for me. It was hard not to cry when he left, but I know I helped him and he will be loved always and now I have room to temp foster again. Snuggs and Annie Mae have forgiven me and really glad the 'boy' intruder is gone. Goats, I like Z names too.

SailingWind you are an artist, so beautiful. In Temecula, near my house, a woman teaches painting Classes on the grounds of a winery. The class is 45 dollars and includes a glass of wine. I've been considering it.

Enerva, I love that top you made and you look great in it.

Welcome Animallvr, if you love animals you will fit in perfect. I just started a small amount of synthoid thyroid med to help raise my energy level. But Sas is the expert on all the medical stuff.

Cami, you are the best at taking amazing showers and smelling like sunshine. You are amazing with Joey. When I first posted on this thread, you were the first to welcome me. And you and Chevy should do stand up comedy, in spite of what you say about yourself, you are quick witted, always make me laugh.

Hi 2nd, we are getting closer to our next get together with the bco gals from inland empire. I'm looking forward to it. Although the steroids prior to infusion made me gain so much more weight I don't need to eat too much :/ I wish everyone on this thread could get together...remember when we all had parties? Even the one in the dog house.

    Goodnight all, sleep well. Hugs.

Yes she's "quick" Lilpaws!  Thay ALL said that about her....  And SHE calls ME ..... oh what was it....?  Everready?..... No...  It was "EVENCHEVY!"  Seemed to perterb her a little bit there...  I mean "EvenChevy" can do stuff!

She thinks I can do one thing... like chickinsit!   Hah!  Showed HER, didn't I...?!   She can write mega-letters to her heads of State, and the  Igotchermoney people.

Yes Paws, I remember our dog-house Party....  Even posted pictures of some...

So Sassy, did you answer what'shernames' question?  I mean about the Thyroid stuff?  She is new here, and I of course deferred to you, because you know how much me and Cammi know!

She's laughing Cam...  I can just hear her now.... I mean see her!

Nothin' new here....  just still dark out...  I at least have to wait until it is a LITTLE light out....  so I can go walk around freely, without fear of  hitting the bricks again...Winking

Oh okay, never mind....  You found her Sass....  It was AnimalLover, but you answered her....  Good THING, because I might have led her astray...

I have to go get more dressed now.... put on my scocks before I wander out in the night....  I like that word too Cammi.

  • Just checking in really quickly. Been very busy today - still haven't gotten to sleep (about 3:45 am here and still lots to do to finish a project). Probably no sleep for me tonight.

Paws, sad to hear that Lil Ziggy took the flight but hoping for a wonderful home for him. Hopefully, your two will get over the intruder's presence quickly. Yes, looking forward to the get-together. Miss not having a life and not seeing friends. Well, that's not entirely true, turns out my "former friends" dropped me quicker than a hot potato -- apparently a couple have unfriended me from FB. So, looking forward to getting together with friends who do care! Kept thinking September is so far off, but it'll be here before I know it. (Might even be planning a trip up north, we'll see if I can arrange it.)

Better getting to completing this project as I'm rapidly losing steam. BBL in a couple hours, hopefully, will at least get a nap!

Okay.... re-iterate once more.... what project?

Welcome animallver!  Time to get ready for work.

I have hypothyroidism since 1993.  I take levothyroxine, gabapentin, and calcium with D3.  The only thing I was told about these meds is the re needs to be 4 hours between the calcium and the levothyroxine.  Also also take the levothyroxine one hour before I eat or 3-4 hours after I eat.

OMG 2md u got unfriended==those SOB'S u don't need anyone of them. That' just plain crazy.  U've got us and us and u'r other friends--forget about them.

Paw OK how u started the artist classes sounded so peaceful, then u mention the wine and said I should look into that. U think u fooled us.? Nope

Dutch I can barely keep up with my meds and u have to take one an hr before another  at another time WTF I'd just be swallowing the sack of them like I do--well I do keep three separate --Somehow I learned that.

OK I was going to tell u to close u'r eyes, but that doesn't work on here either does the smellathon. But today I smell like creamy bananas, thank God no one keeps monkeys around here--It's kind of a good fragramce but not the best I'v had, But it sure beats my FRAGRANCE before my shower. So I'm much better.

OMG…SAS…I can’t believe I’ve missed this in your posts, but TOO MANY doctors, that’s what I’ve been saying!!  I hate, hate, hate having to see so many doctors!  One for this, one for that..and if I’m not my care coordinator, then guess what, one thing can mess up the other!!  And I think those of us that have thyroid issues have some of the hardest times getting the proper care!!

I must have missed some article, but seems I should be glad.

    Enerva, you are so talented!

Dutch, I love doing work like that although I’m not that good at it!  However, my DH is a carpenter and all of our projects at home we have done together!!  We actually built a cottage, started with 1 bed, 1 bath and kitchen/living area, we since have removed the orginal bath, and added on a large master bedroom and made a larger bath!

Paw, I could never foster, I get attached so easy!!  Even with the dogs we board and train, if we have them a month or more, I don’t like to let them go home!  LOL

And yes, Cami and Chevy, you always bring a smile!!  THANKS!!!

Wow, Dutch, 4 hours between, no one told me that, I take all of mine together every morning!  I’ll have to look into this!!  I take actual Synthroid, 100mcg, along with Dexilant, Claritin, Vitamin b12, Vitamin d3, garlic and calcium!!  No one has ever said that I should separate any of them!

Oh, and today I DO NOT HAVE A BACK ACHE!!!  Actually, at the moment, it’s kind of strange as nothing is hurting!  However, I haven’t been sleeping very well, seems I must be having some anxiety issues as I keep having trouble catching my breath!  I
know it’s all about the anxiety because when I’m busy, and can’t think about it, I have no trouble at all!  I’ll get a grip on it soon!!

And when I do use the smell good stuff in my bath, it’s always Vanilla, guess I’m just plain!

I know I’ve missed a lot, so good morning it everyone!!  Waving to you all!!

Yes, Nettie, for sure the Synthroid needs to be taken like Dutchy says. Does your bottle have any special directions? It should. I know it's 1 hour before eating; increases the absorption. And I would take it by itself. Would consult with your pharmacist about the Dexilant and how close together you can take it. I know antacids (which Dexilant technically is not) and calcium supplements can decrease absorption. I think a good pharmacy consult is in order. Do you buy locally or mail order? Even mail order has to have a pharmacist available to consult with.

About the Dexilant. My PCP practically ordered me off of Omeprazole - which is same class as Dexilant. I think Omeprazole affects calcium absorption more. He has me on Zantac generic 2x a day.

Sassy - all flood insurance is admin. by FEMA. My insurance agent couldn't even quote anything without going back thru FEMA. Would be curious to know if your quotes by diff. companies differ any. We have had State Farm ins. for years. DM had it too. Never had a problem with it. It covers what it says but then it doesn't cover what it says it doesn't. Have had car ins. with it forever. That's where we have had some claims the past 2 years. Knock on wood house OK. Waiting for our Texas 2" hailstorm one of these days. Can't remember how old the roof is - I think about 10 years. As with anything - and I mean anything - these days it keeps going up. DH is pretty good about deciphering insurance talk and I take care of the health side so team up pretty well. I like you really detest insurance in general but it is a necessary evil. I quivered when we went to talk to ins. agent mostly about changes to flood ins.

LMG my problem isn't flood insurance. I have flood insurance since since 98 or 99. I bought it just b/c it gave me peace of mind. It's not required because of location. I'm not in a flood plain zone designation. But I knew back then that far and away the majority (forget stat) of flooding occurs outside the designated areas. I didn't want to be subject to the "What if" second guessing. Rather than ask for a trinket i.e diamonds for Christmas, I asked DH for flood insurance. Oh did it piss him off b/c the premiums was/isdue every nov or dec. Every year we would have the "Do I really have to pay for this". Then I reminded him it was my Xmas gift. He would still growl, but pay the premium. It's over 400$ now . It was 250$ at first, and slowly crept up.

My problem is to find a company that will stand behind their auto and homeowners. What I have learned is the majority of insurers in the industry, particularly, related to homeowners has taken a denial of claim approach. I'd rather pay a higher HO premium per year with a company that has a history of "just" adjusting. Than a company that is going to try and wiggle out of paying a "just" claim. Trying to decipher  who has a good reputation isn't easy. Per usual I'm searching. The more I search, the more of a certain stinking smell for the whole industry is becoming apparent.

    BBL back to it............

Agreed I really don't like the insurance industry even though DH has a niece in KY who owns her own agency. I just never have any homeowner claims. I've had roof claims sure. Nobody except those with metal roofs escapes that in Texas. The only other one I had was in 1998 when we had a major ice storm and pipe froze in north facing BR that had no insulation (haha bad builder it was only a year old, long ago sold this house). Flooded house while we were at work. DH had the instinct to come home from work at lunch and found it. Carpets pulled out and hung in giant warehouse to dry. Stayed with concrete floors for a week in nasty cold weather. Not much other damage except redoing the pipe/sheetrock/insulation in that wall. Thankfully the way the house was situated the water ran out the front door and garage rather than rising/standing inside. Knock on wood we've been lucky. We had major hail damage in 1995 from a gigantic hailstorm. DD and I sat in inside BR and it was shaking that wall so bad. We had shingles with dents in them.

Nettie - I think it was RxList I was reading on. I think it's the dailymed Sassy uses. But I cannot find in my bookmarks the one where you can put in 2 drugs and crosscheck interaction.

    http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/about.cfm

Sassy what it that other site you offer to check meds on? I thought I had it.

Nettie - I would have a talk with my pharmacist. They of all people are trained to check for interactions. Now with over the counter meds they have no idea you're taking calcium so would not figure in any warnings until you tell them. To be truthful I had to look Dexilant up, I'd never heard of it. Prob. new improved version of Omeprazole. Curious why your doc chose that form. I just checked our ins. and it is a Tier3 meaning I would have to jump thru hoops to get it. No generic.

    Happy Tuesday.....

Nettie, awesome photo of you...great smile, you can get back there...

Sas, the men in my town that own insurance agency's have built million dollar homes in several locations. I know they are smart, & kinda work hard ( eye roll, they are always on vacation ). It is one of those industries that I think alot of $ can be made. My DH keeps reminding me, when I go off on the home owners, that we have hit the medical insurance folks pretty hard. So true. The bills have not came in yet for his week long stay & 4 surgeries.

    Short rant about insurance...lol...

Good news, my bottom front tooth has shifted drastically in the last 2 months. Started hurting, so off to the dentist this morning. I am fearful of needing another root canal. Dentist took X-rays, all good. They 4 on bottom are looser than normal, but he says strong, roots healthy. Blamed it all on chemo & Zometa.

The stinkin disease that keeps on giving.....

Trying to get ready for NYC & Washington DC... A little nervous about it all, but very excited at the same time.

    Waving hello to all...

Susan, hang in there, better days soon.

omg it reminded me of a dog we had when I was around 7 years old our cat would leave in the middle of the night and our dog could go and care forbade babies as if they were her own puppies. ;( it's so cute our cat could come to feed Them then take off again and our dalmatian dog could take over her duties. Lol

    Thanks for sharing chevy.

Went to the hospital got my blood done and everything settled for next week.

Got some bad news yesterday from home. my sister is schedule to do a scan in her head and column cuz the new onco is afraid c can be there too. I refuse to believe it till the scan shows something. The onco are all in panic cuz she is grade 3, well I am grade 3 stage 3, and I am here so till there is a test to prove cancer is somewhere I will not panic. :(

    Hope you are all ok
