  • Sas,  thanks for update on Phyillinhouston. Sending her hugs.

I went for a walk along the coast in Laguna Beach, CA this morning before work. Really a beautiful day. Tide pools, crashing waves, jagged rock formations, seals, and  clear water. The ocean air smelled so good.

  • Hi1, I am getting round 5 of 6, all three each time, 21 day intervals, ACT. SEs were awful the first two, big D and horrible (screaming and clutching my belly) abdominal cramping and pain. A friend with Crohn's suggested Bentyl, and doc prescribe it. Since then, no cramping or pain and only a tiny D. Worst SEs now are shaking, insomnia, and neuropathy. I had neuropathy before but it's getting worse. My feet feel like they do after being pinched in too-tight shoes all day, only I go barefoot. Insomnia, like I said, a lifelong struggle. And Doc thinks the shaking is a SE from Effexor which he prescribed for hot flashes. So far all my labs have come back with A+s on everything.

I have to be there in less than 9 hours. Not expecting to get a lot of rest tonight what with all the steroids. Ugh. But I'm too tired to write...

Spookie, The beauty of the Columbia is there is a parking lot right behind . You know how Disney designs everything out of sight. Columbia's right on the corner. Easiest to get to restaurant in all of downtown. I may come from a different direction for certain poop reasons. Schatzi's been there enough. DS and I meet down by the divided road where the lusciously landscaped canal is located. I get out of the car Schatz' poops in short order on command. I bag it and dispose of it. No one around. I hate to pick up poop in front of people. Indelicate. But across from the Columbia is a park. In case doggy spookie has a need.

HI1-Yes re; glass, almost said no, but realized that was just the day you asked :). I pick up Wexford whenever I see it. Lot's of it coming on the secondary market now i.e. thrift. More now than in the last 15 years. Wexford was made by Anchor-Hocking for the middle class from 1950 till 1970. Not sure when production stopped. It has lots of facets. It's pressed glass. It was made for the middle class to give a sense of cut crystal. What I like about it is 1. it's pretty after going through a wash with FINISH  2. it's incredibly rugged  3.The glasses are great in a woman's hand. Not too heavy and not slippery in anyone's hand. The thrift price should be .50 cents to a dollar per glass. Been picking up the serving pieces for the last year. Price should be between 3-6$. Haven't seen them before this year and have gotten quite a few. Ebay prices are way high. RC ridiculous. I've gotten my cousin to the point she's collecting it in Canada LOL. My favorite cousin out of 63 first cousins YAY. She's now a snowbird 1/2 hour away. She bought a condo here on Cocoa Beach. By the time I'm done she will be well stocked :)

Checked out your Lenox Falling Star today on Ebay. The bowl and the two candlesticks were listed at 89.95 :) On RC they only showed that the bowl and a picture were produced. The candle sticks are beautiful. Incredibly whimsical. Harkens back to the whimsy and artistry of Art Deco. Stylistic and elegant.

Have a section in DS room where I've been storing stuff for him. I found three 14 inch platters that he chose from what I collected, on the floor and then noticed the whole area upended. One of the dogs must have been trying to find a storm hiding place. Not a chip on the glass---amazing. Haven't checked everything out--just the trays. It was a moment of " What am I looking at--why are they upside down and all over the place"

Tip I learned a few weeks ago for chips on glass. The cardboard emory boards. Just keep working a chip until your satisfied. If it doesn't work--pitch it. Unless it's really valuable. Then make it a planter, or flower holder.

I'll put in a plug for seeking Money assistance. There are sssssssssssssooooo many Foundations that help. Finding them is hard LOL the post I made in that regard lead to my banning.

    Irony.

Back to help---contact your Insurance Companies, Cancer centers, Senior outreach of the County you live in. Ask to talk to the Social Worker. SW's are the key to resources for EVERYTHING--money, grab bars, wheel chair ramps, equipment, grocery buying sources, grocery delivery sources, cleaning sources, meals on wheels, placement services. Payment for lots of stuff.

Cami--Yes, your right BLack and Blue versus Pink. I agree with many others I love Pink, it is entirely agreeable with my complexion. Won't wear it in October.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ have you checked back in since it seemed like CHEVY was critizing your spelling and rally she was critizing Cami. I was afraid you were affronted and didn't come back?

Chevy, I tried to read what you wrote for the Mods, realized I had a computer virus. Then I realized they didn't ASK me, I'm five years out. HMM .

Smarrty,Yay 40lbs. that's the exact amount according to doc records I've gained since Dec 2012. Stupid docs ignoring what I said. Not No More.

Nay never No More.................hmm that's a line in a song
Found it "Wild Rover" I think Irish or Australian drinking song

Smarrty good I'll pass on to Philly. I feel bad about Tang not being here. The threads she's on (cuz I checked too), are inline with her problems. Just wish she were here too. Of course blame myself, she said I scared her. Sucks, I was feeling protective. Pisses me off, I think she has been mismanaged, but she didn't need me being strident at the time. poop.

Paws, what a great thing to see, before going to work. WOW I loved Akron Ohio, but after being in Florida for several months after we moved in 1992, I said I would never again live where there were grays skies everyday. Akron Clevland was /is second to Seattle Washington for the number of cloudy days. In Akron, when the sun shone, people would remark all day about it. We didn't really understand that there was a different world out there.

Nettie Thanks for your opinion :0 Loved the motorcycle granny

Blondie, hugs babe, enjoy your drugs-----sounds strange, but I know you get it.

Okay possibly done, realized I did an overlap.  I can do this split screen thing with Windows 8.1. Very cool. read on right, type on left.

It was the "Wild rover" it's a very old song , but is now apparently associated with rugby. No other YouTube recordings came up

My brother used to have an Irish trio that formulated b/c my Dad had an Irish bar in the 60's and 70's . Those were fun time. The trio sang together into the late late 90's. So, wish they had made a recording.

Okay, had  a brew or two, that's the Irish saying, you can extrapolate from there. It's nigh ne'r morn.

  • Hey Sassy, imagine finding you here at this hour. Got a couple hours of sleep, now wide awake. Owlet ties. I love it. Oh how I hate steroids. My brain is jumping all over the place, I can't keep a line of thought in it. Time for some solitaire, maybe some music.

    Later.

    Paws yes\

    Dutchy, changed wheels on meals

    Chevy wiped it out

  • Good morning Owlettes....thank you for all the responses on my picture. It was a beautiful place to walk and yes Blessings you are correct, Heisler Park is where the pic was taken. During the week the crowds are much less and parking accessible. What a great place for you to have a time share. I've been to a wedding there at the Gazebo. Gorgeous place.

Zzzz glad you are halfway thru with treatment. And Smarrty...I think we posted at the same time yesterday, very cool about your weight loss.

Enerva, maybe you can make a long distance bike trip and visit California and our beautiful coastline.

Yes, Dutch, we are fortunate to have beautiful weather. Kind of hard to believe its Fall because it's bright and sunny here. I would love to see beautiful orange leaves and experience the different seasons. But not sure I'd want to experience icey cold snowy days.

I hope everyone has a nice day. Hugs to all.

Yes Spookie!   I just had heart-failure!  My MOUSE would not work!  His red light would not come on, no matter how hard I slammed it down on the desk!  So I go crawling up-stairs, get ANOTHER one....  SAME thing!  Then I shut off the computer....  Turn it on again, and all's well that ends well.

So yes....  I was fear-ful that things were amiss!  And I NEED to check in here.... for something..... except I forgot what!

See you and Sassy Thursday!    And Sassy?  You sometimes give me heart-failure all by yourself!  Loopy  xoxoxoxo

  • The  grands were here Sun nIte for their dads bday. #1 grand is a sneaky BRAT.Hes 9.  Picked them up from school yesterday. #2 starts yelling at brother to GIVE THAT TO NANA. Um, give me what? I'm handed the ball that goes in the mouse!!!!!!!Talk about near heart failure!!!!

#1 was eating RASINS. I asked him to be careful, not to get them all over.  They are toxic to dogs, Kris has the back seat.  Could kill him.  You should see my car! That brat is going to pick up every one of them if I have to threaten to knock him into next year.

You have a cow?  Who knew?

So just wait until your GrandSon is maybe 18!  He will probably lock you in your room, until you behave!

  • Somebody's going to kill him before then.
