So what is this?  I'll bet you make him shiver before he even sees you?   Honestly, when I used to get "my boys" that was the happiest time of my life....  They still live in my heart...  even though they are 27 and 25...

Sometimes wouldn't youi just want to turn back time?  And go through a favorite period in your life again?    That would be mine....  Being with my Grand-sons from the time they were born, until they moved away.... almost 16 years now....   So many memories...

Or even "now"..... every day I am so fortunate to be here....  okay..... gotta go finish mopping the floor....

  • Yeah, I'd like to be the cookie baking nana with him.  But you can't.  He has some problems, maybe on the Spectrum. Wasn't untill this summer both boys could be together without #2 crying.  NO body could stand them together.  He'll get a look on his face, or zone out.  After 23 years working with kids, I've never seen one like him.

#2 is a whole other story. Agreeable, rarely in trouble, sweet kid.  Totally different than bro. He will be 7 in 2 weeks, they are going to LEGGO land for his bday.  That kid is a wiz with them. He can't read much yet, but can put the kits together just looking at the pics.

I'll probably be visiting this place from time to time since I have to be up early during the week to see hubby off to work.

  • O.K., you Insomniacs..... here is what I had to wear to bed last night! Don't you feel sorry for me?

    image

Everything was either taped, velcroed, or wrapped around various body parts. The "nasal cannula" was two irritating prongs (no oxygen) in my nose, and a ticklish third prong on my upper lip. The whole thing was taped to my face in several places.

DH and I had to follow the diagram to get everything hooked up.

It was for my SECOND sleep apnea test. The only good news was that I got to sleep in my own bed. I had $14,000 worth of tubes and wires and electronic boxes on me. They all went OVER my nightgown. The smartest thing I did was to put on a satin pajama top ON TOP of everything, so I could move and turn over in bed. I did actually get some sleep. Now waiting for the results....

    Tonight.... freedom!!!

    Nighty-night!!!!

OMG I'm so far behind (with a big behind too) I can't ketchup (I know what I just typed, Chevy) and I did read some posts, and if it's a criticism that Chevy is posting don't think she means anyone else but me, she just forgets to put my name on it. I'm telling all of u so the newbies know that. Chevy thinks she has super intelligence over me, but the joke's on her we're both goofy on the same level, and BTW my DD know to let u guys know if something stupid is happening so please don't be concerned between my stupid comp. (which my boss is supposed to look at and my little job, I'm getting dopier than usual, my boss is a genius and very nice but on a daily basis he's in the world he lives in and no one else can figure it out, well I could but I don't have the patience. Oh and I started on another new med and I'm feeling some more different SE's and one of them is b*tchy, yes Chevy it's says that exact word and true to form I am the biggest b*tch walking which is me usually so u can imagine if I'm worse (shut up Chevy)

I enjoy all the pics and the scenery is so pretty.

    I'll be back.

OK I'm back had to pee.

So everyone is closing up gardens and battening down for the winter, it's cool here but nice, of course I wear layers and usually freezing.

Grandchildren are the joy that some of us share and it's so much nicer than when were raising our own---But Chevy said something before that was so true---I didn't realize at the time so much but when my kids were younger and even tho I raised them on my own it was the happiest time of my life and even tho I worked 2 jobs I was still happy cuz it was just the 3 of us and my problems were so easy to face and I enjoyed my kids, I know they had more responsibility than most kids had then but they also had fun too. I worked during the day with my one cousin and my sister and at night with my other cousin (and they themselves were sisters) and lived acroos the street from each other and every chance we had we were together, they only lived a few blocks from me so all of our kids loved it and they were always together too. Our moms were sisters and lived a block from each other and they were always together--we are still close but not living clos like before.

Blondie Hope u'r doing OK I didn't read the last couple of pages.

I'm sorry I'm not addressing everyone but not reading much (my fault and the puter) I always just pray everyone is doing OK. and WELCOME here Mags these are a bunch of fun nice women here, u'll enjoy this thread. Especially if u can't sleep and sometimes tht hits all of us.

Oh this Sunday I'm going to a family reunion with cousins I don't see a lot and a few I do but it'll be at a restaurant not far from where I live, so my one cousin will pick my A$$ up early like 11 am early now for me, but I'm looking forward to it.

Chevy have a great time and pics please and wear whatever u want except flannel, I wouldn't recommend flannel.

Okay, I've got my flannel on!  I'm rather toasty too!  Actually I DO have my heating blanket on my bed already, ready for winter!  I probably won't bring that to Orlando though?

I love your story Cammi...  I always KNEW you were normal.  I didn't have a Sister,  just my little Brother and our dog Sport!   I've been talking to him on FB... and I tease him more than YOU even!  But it's so much fun....  All his Drummer/musician friends are getting a kick out of me blabbing about the pranks he did when we were kids. Winking

An Cammi, isn't it kind of sad that here we are, all grown up... And just realizing how great the times were when we were kids?  How much fun life was, and how we just don't think about it, because the whole world is our playground!

And then we get older, and we go on with life, and then like for me, we realize those were the "good" times... that we start thinking about "oh hell, what's next?"  And it just makes me kind of sad.

I KNOW we are still so lucky, and fortunate that we MADE it this far, and our memories keep us going, but it's just kind of sadly sadly knowing  those "good times" are now the "gone times" ....  So we just gotta hang on to each other!  xoxoxo

  • Good morning, insomniacs. In spite of the loading up of steroids the past couple of days, I slept like a rock last night. Couldn't keep my eyes open past 10, and up drinking coffee this morning. Cami and Chevy, you guys crack me up. To be honest, I don't look back on my childhood with nostalgia, it was a truly dysfunctional family situation, and I don't think any of us was happy, and there were a bunch of us. 3 older, 2 younger than I, dad at sea most of the early years, 18 years between the oldest and the youngest. Well, water under the bridge I guess. Now I am spoiled rotten by my sweet DH and my dear cousin, who doubles as my cook, laundry lady, and personal shopper. (Doubles? Quadruples?) and I take shameful advantage of them, I confess.

Well, I hope everyone gets rest if you need it. I don't have to tell you to not sleep the day away, though, do I? Haha.

  • Well chit!  I just checked TWC for tomorrow. 90% chance of HEAVY thunderstorms tomorrow!!!!! Sure hope that patio is covered at Columbia.  Do they allow smoking on it?

Mommof2, I say spoil yourself as much as needed.

Blessings & Paws, OMG !!!!!! You two are hanging out in PARADISE.....Love Laguna. As teenagers, we would fill the car up, head down there, walk the beach & go to the Sawdust Art Festival. Of course we could not actually buy anything. We just spent all our money on gas & In n Out burgers. I dreamed one day I would own a place....well we know that hasn't happened. It's been 13 years since I have been there.

  • Holeinone - LOVE IT!!! ThumbsUp

We only get to live in Laguna twice a year - for a week at a time. Our little timeshare is right across from Heisler Park, and our upstairs room has wall-to-wall windows. Our dining table overlooks the park and the ocean, and if we're lucky, we can watch whales passing by and dolphins playing in the surf.

We don't love it so much in the summer, though.... WAY too many people!

  • Trying to catch up with everyone!  Just wanted to say, just came back from my checkup with the surgeon, he released me for one year!!  He is the one who orders and monitors my mammos!!  Mammo was clear, physical exam was good!!  Guess now I'll have to wait and see how angry the MO gets because I haven't started on the Tamoxifen, I see him Nov 4!!  I guess I'll try to start it before then, but dang, I have a vacaction scheduled and I don't want to be "down" during that time!  We'll see, maybe I'll just take it the two weeks prior to the appointment and see how I do!!

Hope you gals enjoy yourself in florida!!  and cami it's nice that you are back posting even though Chevy harasses you!!  I love the fun!!

  • Wait that should say even though you two harass each other!! I know it's all in love!

Spookie, I plan on leaving at 11;15. I think we are just about the same distance. Call me at 10:45. We'll make a final decisions on the dogs. Schatzi gets stressed by storms. Hides even with a thunder shirt on. She would be an anxiety mess. Would ruin the visit. The Columbia' outdoor seating is two tables wide with an aisle. If the wind is blowing even the slightest, we'd be wet.

We are drenched here. Even some areas are flooded. Ready for sunshine. We did have red skies tonight at sunset. Let's hope the saying stays true. Talk to you in am?

Oh Chevy, Hi, LOL playin with you. !2:30 Columbia in Celebration

Great weatherm balmy in the 70s. And I don't have to worry about wasting water!

  • I was planning on leaving about 10ish  Takes forever t get through Tampa, Malfunction Junction.  Send this damn rain out West! I'm over it!

  • Just checked their weather.  90% chance afternoon showers, same as me.

Spookie, Okay, Call me 15 minutes before you go out the door or 1/2 hour. Predicted 82-83 temp, with 90% humidity and storms. We should just give it up and leave the animals home. Disappointing, but practical, all the way around.
