Yay! Zen time for me! Finished my housework early and now I have nothing to do!

  • M0mmyof2, housework? What is that?

Sassy, Chevy, Spookiesmom, have a wonderful visit!

    lol

Just my day to day "occupy myself with something to do or I go nuts" stuff

  • I am excited to see pictures of you three.  Have a great visit.

  • Holeinone, I love the Laguna Beach pic. Sounds like you had fun times visiting the sawdust festival and eating in-n-out burgers with your family. Not too many of us can afford to buy the hand crafted art at the Sawdust festival, but always fun to look. There are lots of little unique shops all along Pacific Coast Highway. You'll have to come visit again sometime.

Chevy, Spookiesmom, Sas....you gals party on today. Post a pic. Hope your weather holds out for you. Have fun :)

  • Chevy will be the one dragging the Stripper Pole behind her.... hard to miss... (oh, wait - did I say that out loud?)  Loopy

    ~ ~ ~

Kaiser sent me a message.... the results are in .... and it's...... SLEEP APNEA!!!! Get to go attend a class and pick up a loaner unit to use for a week, to figure out the best settings.

I am so tired of waking up exhausted and in pain. DH got his machine, and it has improved his life by 1,000%. I want that.

    ~ ~ ~

    Happy Thursday, Owlettes!!!

  • I don't think I can post. I put ios8 on here, can't do pics anymore.  Have contacted mods, BCO needs to upgrade.

We had a blast.  CHEVY and her DDs are soooooo sweet.  The food was wonderful. We left the dogs home, I never saw rain. I think SAS did

Gotta tell you!  DGS came OVER!  Just made my day....!!!!  Both Grand-sons are doing well!  Couldn't be happier!

I'll post the pics as soon as DD uploads them, or whatever she does to post them here......Winking

Oh MY Dog as Spookie would say. Haven't had such a fabulous day since Spookie and Phyliss were here. We essentially all arrived at one time. Parking right out front. Unheard of, always had to park blocks away. Must store away that 12:30 is a very good time :)

I had white out rain on the way over from the east. Drove into Celebration--GORGEOUS. DD's took the pics, then sent us on our way. Told DD's I was going to treat the gals to a signature Columbia--White Sangria.

We talked as if we were highschoolers. Laugh, lots of laughing. Food outstanding. I know Columbia's recipe for White sangria is online. If their recipe for Shrimp Supreme is, it's a keeper. The bread and butter is too die for, literally LOL.

Chevy showed up with bags for each of us. A scarf, a doggie treat bag, AND a sprig of fresh rosemary--DeViNe. Particularly, since my sense of smell is returning. Spookie brought a tee from her hometown. Me I'm a schmuck.

For weeks, I kept looking around for a piece of glass to take to Chevy. Spookie & Phil each got a piece when they were here. Indecisive. Nothing struck my fancy. Had to go back to car for cigs. Since there were two large boxes of glass and six bags in the car, I thought there might be something. Reached into one box. Came up with a  pressed glass jar, that I think might be a large sugar. Could be anywhere from 50- 100 years old. Very much in the Victorian style. Perfect? Question: can I part with it? Thought it providential, that much glass and a perfect piece touches my hand verses searching. Yes :) Chevy Loved it, and asked if it's to be used or displayed. I said I use them for ear cleaners, but use it for whatever you want, but please use it :) When Spookie saw it she said "The Glass Fairy".

To top off lunch, the Hostess comes out at the completion of lunch and tells us that DD paid for lunch. Chevy got teary. I'm aghast b/c I ordered what I did. The hostess said that DD wanted it exactly this way.

Chevy's two daughters our absolutely beautiful in looks and spirit.  You can instantly see how much they all love and respect each other.

After lunch, I took Spookie on a short driving tour of Celebration. Then home and a bit of grocery shopping

Then a rainbow over the Indian River to the east. Perfect :)

Chevy, Please ask DD to run jar through dishwasher with Finish(LOL, or just dishwasher), then place on white surface and backdrop-- white pillowcases are good. Close up, then ultra close up of different facets. Each one of those little patterns has a name. What was unique about this piece, is it didn't essentially fall into a time period for the patterns that I'm familiar with. Makes me think it's from Europe. Polish, Checkoslaoviakia(sic). We lost our edge on cut glass and pressed glass after WW1. Would love to see pics here. Then I'll share what I paid. So, love the deal. Probably tacky. I just think it's a beautiful piece. The youngins just have no clue on value. They look at that piece and discard it. Then, I joyfully come along and resurrect it :) And give it to someone that cares. Like Spookie said "The Glass fairy" :)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo happy DGS showed up!. Hope!.

The visit I had with Ds and New GF, that I though went soooooo well Friday. Nada. Chastised  by DS.

  • What, you can't laugh with his GF? Party pooper!

No rain coming home, has to be a first. I can't ever remember going through Lakeland with out pouring buckets . Ever!

SPOOKIE acted like she hadn't seen me for a few years. Nice to be missed. Kris went to groomer today, no dog park for him today.

    Worn out, bed soon.

Your posts on Pinktober Revolution ---perfect, perfect. Many thoughts that haven't been said. Then the video about the woman and the son. I cried all the way through.

Spookie that expresso is probably still working on me

Talked with Philly, Chemo didn't happen b/c they forgot to reserve a slot. Next too RO, the scans weren't to be scheduled for now. But she got lot's of questions answered. the progression /regression thingy>>>> If a chemo causes a cancer too respond, it can show as a flare on the scan. The flare wasn't observed. Didn't mean that there wasn't one though. Her RO is a great teacher :)

Onto port flushing a bit of difficulty, but experienced nurse moved it and flushed okay. Last time she went through Cath-flo procedure. Now questioning if that was needed? Learning experience.
Onto LE therapist. New measurements and new sleeve. She doesn't have LE, but uses sleeve for protracted traveling and flying..

Sends her love and thanks all for their care. Can't post.

Spookie, Schats did the same, as did Dini. Schats is close too the best dog I have ever had. Miss not sharing her with Chevy. BOO hoo.

  • What is CathFlo for port flush? I still have mine. Forever I hope. Don't recall this procedure.

  • At least she can get new sleves! Humana is in denial mode with me.  Talked to rep in way home. He said to lean on doc, who is supposed to lean on Humana.  Will do. I want an arm pump.

Spookie, you get your port flushed once a month ---yes? Cathflo is a clotbuster. Was a great breakthrough. Many caths and shunts clot. TPA is a drug that goes back to forget when---at least early 80's. Remember, I first read about it in the Wall Street Journal. Rare that I read the WSJ, but happened to catch the initial article. Thought Hey, I'm up on the latest, and it's not a medical journal. Blew my boss away when I brought the article in b/c it hadn't hit the medical journals yet. AND wasn't in use yet.

.Think I remember the non abbreviated name----toxoplasminogen activator. Genetech. LoL close enough for non government work. (Yes Paws :) ).
It was developed for clot busting in heart attacks. Then someone had the light bulb go on. If it worked well in blood vessel clot busting, it may work well in clots that developed in shunts for dialysis. Saved patients from additional and replacement shunt surgery. Not sure what year, but extended to inserted caths. There's more types of inserted caths than PICCS and Ports that preceded the two. It was a big deal to have a clot. Meant surgery in the older days-----LOL the 80's and early 90's. Then, I think it's Genetech that produces Cathflo. PICC or port or shunt or any inserted cath, a shot of Cathflo>>>>>>wait a few hours and the clot is dissolved----------COOL.

  • Sounds like a good time was up had by all, can't wait for photos

Hmmmm Spookie , I can help with the words to trip their response-----they revolve around the words Morbitity----illness  and Mortality--dying. For someone with improperly managed LE the increased risk is infection. Not just the discomfort and disfigurement---which is reason enough, BUT the infection risk raises the BAR immensely b/c of the mortality risk with the infection. Use the right words with recording the conversation. i.e. If after this date I have an untoward infection or I succumb to an infection that could have been properly  prevented by appropriate use of a sleeve, you will be held responsible for lack of due diligence in the prevention of these events. LOL--maybe I should have been a lawyer. Did get the DS to be a lawyer :)

Used these same words when Dear Twin had Er+ BC in 1996. I told her we both needed to get Hysters and Oophs out. Wasn't an approved or recommended treatment at the time. Tamox was treatment of choice. My doc went along with what I wanted. I knew they didn't know shit from shinola. My sx was disapproved. Used those words  above like this " My doc has recommended I have this sx, if after Wed I show up with ER+ BC your company is responsible". Sx approved the next day.

We all know words are everything.

  • I did say in my letter I thought the pump would be better, less expense for them, than 3 days in hospital on IV antib

  • We have a parade here called The Torchlight Parade.  It starts when it gets dark.  Everyone in the parade wears all sorts of glow sticks and light and the floats are covered in lights.  This is how I spent the evening.

Mommyof2, isn't that a great feeling? I slept a few hrs and have been awake for a while. I just started to go back to sleep and my DD came in (she was up, and saw my light on) to get a pain pill, she hurt her ankle a while back and it acts up and she can hardly walk. Well I hope Joey's better, he has today off and can take care of her. I can do a little, hahaha
