    Cheryl, no, it was not 70, which is what we did last week, so it must be 71. Lots of turns. Loopy

    Went for a facial yesterday. Biking there was my exercise. The Japanese way of doing facials is quite interesting. Very light touch on the face, except some pressure points. I ended up buying quite a few products from this Shisheido promotional effort. They have low bc rates in Japan, don't they?

    Today is my relax day, tommorrow is 15 minutes on the Gazelle. I'd do more but my left foot which I had surgery on 2001 won't allow more than 15 minutes

    Got up & did an hour of spot toning with Denise Austin. In about an hour we take off for a wedding. We met the groom when he & DS were in daycare together (22 years ago) & became great friends with the entire family (and they became great friends with my entire family also), so it is almost like going to a family wedding. Should be lots of fun & we won't be back until late in the day tomorrow....I predict cake and dancing in my near future.....ThumbsUp

    Well despite hearing the Voices loud and clear, my two exercise classes went the way of the wind last night. Worked 3 3/4 hours overtime instead. Sigh. Only 3,854 steps as I was tied to my desk by my boss.

    Auroaya, so happy you now have mobility and are able to drive. You too Cheryl - although not in the same way. Lol

    Beth I loved your running trail but I would be walking over that bridge especially after a rain. I slipped on wet leaves on wood about 3 years ago and spent the next 6 months recovering from a broken tailbone. *shudder.

    Ruth, have fun at your wedding. 

    I'm going to try for Zumba again in the morning. :-)

    Congrats Aurora. I can't imagine not being able to drive for 14 months. Major milestone.

    LaROCK.....I just told my MO what I was doing during chemo and watched his jaw drop. I particularly remember the 270 crunches discussion. Having done this, I disagree. Your body will tell you what you can't do, and even though it may be counterintuitive, I found I slept much better after exercise. It opened up my lungs during AC, so I also had much deeper breathing. This was with six dose dense of AC followed by six DD Taxol. I exercised every single day and was able to do a cycling event during Taxol. I was even able to cycle at the end of AC, but did get winded easily. (Mention the SWOG 0221 study to him and also that I was 59 at the time.)

    You should also mention that the objective is to be as fit as possible on the other end. I learned that yes, I had to recover, but that I did not have to rebuild my core strength. Really, really important.

    Exercise yesterday was walking around Seattle doing an errand, and then a date with my new guy. Wine bar followed by dinner/show at the Triple Door. Show was burlesque/dance and a view of 1960s Rome. Caught the time perfectly. Dinner was Thai food from Wild Ginger which does the catering for that venue. We had an absolute blast. The errand was taking my Ebel watch (think cheaper version of Rolex) watch in to have the clasp redone. This is going to cost a king's ransom, but worth it as I just love the watch. I have had it for 13 years and worn it almost every day.

    Hoping for a run later today and of course cycling over the weekend. But more like 20 miles each day and much easier. I need to catch up on all sorts of things with all my travels and work.

    Speaking of work, I need to get moving. Lots to do including a computer swap for my nonprofit CEO which I am orchestrating. That, and a press release. Other things I need to do as well. I will sneak in a bit of invoicing as need to get those out to be paid. (Ya think???)

    I also need to coordinate with friends for my upcoming NYC trip at the end of the month. Glad my guy is off elk hunting so I can get these things done. Now, off to the exercise ball for crunches and then the shower. - Claire

    Beth, lovely peaceful run. A good start to yoga would be a mixed ability or beginner yoga class (if there is no pink yoga near you). Upper body strength will come in time, core strength is more important. Auroaya, I'm pleased for you and well done!  HeidiHill, the french are facial interesting as well.  I had a facial once at Clarins skin spa Paris and it was light.  I asked why they did not take out blackheads and really get into it and the response was, madame, you look too closely at your skin -HA! Do the Japanese have low bc rates..I haven't a clue.

    Freestyle step with hand weight and body balance this morning at the gym and 5 mile country sunny run this afternoon.

    10/3- no exercise, busy day with securing some new work for my consulting biz, but give myself a day off each week and yesterday was it!

    Today, I did my third personal training session for the week. Fridays are the cardio/core work out day and we upped the game with weights, etc. 

    Best news of all, we re-measured some things since our baseline, and I have lost 3 inches around my waist in 4 weeks and 2% of fat from around my internal organs (began at 41, down to 39, it needs to go below 30). We are making really good progress and continue on for another month (maybe longer). I can see a difference and certainly feel a difference too!

    Auroaya- congrats on driving again. I too cannot imagine going for that long without driving. In the fall of 2012, I could not drive for a month after some major abdominal surgery and it felt good to get back behind the wheel, but also strange for awhile too. Enjoy having your wheels back!

    Jazzygirl, 3 inches, that is wonderful!! Cheryl, so glad that you are moving and grooving again, Ruth, have fun at the wedding!! Our preschool Children's playgroup still stays in touch too, after 30 plus years! I am trying to tell both my DIL to get a play group started, lifelong friendships are made!!!

    Exercise today : running up and down hills and walking!!!

    I am always so tired after the end of a busy workweek, but I made myself go to the Y and work out for 45 minutes on the FitLink machines.

    Good news: I did over 16,000 steps yesterday going to the Nats-Giants game.  ThumbsUp

    Bad news: The Nats lost.  Sad

    Good news: I get to go to Game 2 today - we'll get 'em this time!  Happy

    3 & 1/2 years ago today at 9 am, I had my biopsy. Today, at 9 am, I ran the Abolish Breast Cancer 5k. Raises money for the Dana Farber Cancer Fund.  The 3rd place medal made it all the sweeter. Thanks to all the Voices for inspiring me and motivating me to get and keep moving!

    Got in 2 miles this morning. Didn't have the energy to go farther. DH is cleaning up our bikes. Maybe we can go for a ride by the beach tomorrow.

    I had to stay late with an IT swap, so just a 2 mile walk and an early night yesterday. Feel amazing after 10+ hours of sleep. Off for a 20 mile ride and then a quick trip to Seattle to get a haircut. I did find the rug I need for my apartment on eBay last night and this AM bought a YSL cashmere turtleneck. It seems I have worn out most of my good everyday clothes and I need to look tres chic these days.

    My guy just loved the Smartwool socks I got him for his birthday. Great present for anyone who spends time outdoors doing sports. I can't find my running socks right now, and these aren't cheap.

    Reminder on the Seattle trip that I also need to hit the Redmond market prior to setting out. Summer is winding down, but still amazing vegetables to be had. Plus eggs. One of my fave dinners is an omelet, salad, and good wine (plus bread and butter).

    Hoping my guy returns with tons of mushrooms, if not some meat. Funny, but I seem to hang with the crowd who loves their food, their wine, and the outdoors. All in balance, and keeps us happy and well fed.

    LARock.....two miles is great!!!! The trick is to dial things down, but not stop. Great that DH is prepping your bikes. Again, you will be slower, but remember that 90% of the general public can't cycle at all and they don't have the chemo excuse.

    Have a blast cycling tomorrow. And enjoy the deep sleep tonight. Nap if you need to. - Claire

    Well instead of working out at home, I got my exercise in walking around Walmart picking up a couple of things for the house.

    imageTrying to catch up with all the good work everyone is doing.  Three days off for me so today I felt I had to get in a long walk.  60 minutes in 45 degree wind and rain!  Thankfully I took my umbrella.  Ugly weather but found some beauty.

    Also played an hour of tennis with my daughter in 100 degree heat! Had to sit down to catch my breathe several times however it felt great and was some of the best either one of us has played in a long time!

    Body Combat this morning by default, I had a pass for my Spin class but when I got into the room there were no more bikes, obviously there were people in there without passes and I could have made someone give up their bike, I always just wear flip flops to the gym when I spin but I had a pair of dance shoes in my car so instead of being mean I just put on my dancing shoes and had myself a fight instead.

    Ginger what a fabulous accomplishment, congratulations. TwoHobbies beautiful flowers, I am so envious of the rain, like LARock said it is 100 degrees here it is unbearable doing laundry min this heat is no fun.

    Mary, I am watching (the tied) game right now. Brrrr, it looks cold!

    Wow! Everyone is doing GREAT!

    The wedding was really happy & nice. All the wedding party & family (minus the bride) greeted/chatted/mingled with the guests as they got to the church (which had a very large reception area), a very personal service, wonderful dinner & a super-fun dance. The DJ played lots of different styles of songs, so there was something for everyone, (and the music was not too loud to visit over) & everyone danced and danced all night long. I was so tired when we got home this evening that I walked 30 minutes on the treadmill with my eyes closed and am looking forward to going to bed!!!!

    Badger texted me & I am supposed to tell you that she is alive and well but is having computer problems!!
