A year ago today I first felt my lump in the shower on my right breast. Nothing has been the same or will it ever be again. I'm still trying to decide if that is good or bad.

Tangandchris- we make a vegetarian version of cream of potatoe soup with yukon gold potatoes, broccoli and cheddar cheese, comfort food. My one kid won't touch meat. Your soup sounded delicious.

Mags, I am adopted it takes alot of courage to put a child up for adoption....keep tellling my gd that, honestly wish she would, may make me sound like an awful ggm but it would b best for all she is 18 and no place to live, her mother threw her out and so did my son for stealing cars, money and other stuff...

don't know if I said anything, but went to mo yesterday, told him i couldn't deal with the sleeping issues so down to 1/2 10mg of predesone said I gained 20 lbs in 3 weeks guess from it, Not sure if it is helping the breathing or not, but I might take myself off which is what I told him....got more pain pills and he gave me a z pac for the disease I have, coughing and my chest was hurting, was paranoid about getting pneumonia.....went to sleep at 5 and got up at noon, hate it...
GS has a football game tomorrow at noon and although it is freezing here I have to go missed all his bb games and he only has 3 games left, he hates it when i don't go....

I can't remember if I posted my ds (12) has been in the hospital. Started last Mon feeling bad. Dh took him to dr on mon then again tues. By thur no better dr admitted him to hospital. Finally released this afternoon. Man I am exhausted and in extreme pain from hospital sitting 24/3. Ds feeling a lot better. A week out of school he sure has a ton of school work to catch up on. Which means I have a ton of helping to do. But it can wait until tomorrow. Today when we got home I showered, ate and went to sleep around 8pm. Now wide awake - of course.

Tang, you got me thinking about my cancer journey. October is a bad month for me, 1st mx was 18 years on the 24th, 2nd 2 years ago on Halloween. Am I glad I ever got cancer? Not crazy, that would be a definite no! But I look at other health issues of those in my family, DM's Alzheimer's is heart-breaking, so many times when she's lucid she talks about how she knows she's going crazy, must be awful to lose cognitive abilities. We also have alcoholism, now that's a constant struggle. Not just daily, but constantly being aware and having to fight the demons. After my first mx (no recon then), used to be grateful I could hide my "amputation" from the world, many others aren't that lucky. But, I have gained from this disease: that I AM stronger than I think I am, I am resilient, I don't take life for granted like I did and most of all, the greatest blessing is that I've added so many friends because of this disease.
Today, I got to take it easy. Never got out of pj's. Made easy meals and of course, there was clean up, but it was a recliner, TV and nap kind of day. Haven't had this kind of peaceful day in almost 2 weeks. I got to spend one of the best days I've had in many months with one of the sweetest angels on this earth with her sweet DH, just enjoying companionship and beautiful scenery at the beach. Will be a memory I will cherish always. Turns out it was the calm before the storm.

You and I have "been there, done that".... so we KNOW what evil lurks in the hearts of men..... I heard that somewhere... You must caution him, as he gets older.... You know what is so funny? My SIL had two sons.... and she told them, it is NOT up to them to protect themselves from becoming little Daddy's! That is is up to the girl, so therefore they could do all they wanted, and it would not be their fault! And they would not be responsible!
I just wanted to run her over with the car.... what a moron! Well, they grew up irreGARDLESS of her, and are sweet little guys, with their own boys! So Joey is now in your hands little Cammi.... We leave it all up to you.

We will have to send him to classes ... Planned Parenthood.... That's what WE had to do in school! No, wait.... that was where my DD#1 got her pills.... We took "Health" class.... which explained things okay.... we could have taught the teacher some things!

PattyPepper, sounds like you had a miserable week. I hope your boy is getting stronger. Sometimes those teachers need to cut back on all that busy work, kids bounce back pretty quick, but still needs time to heal.
Susan, exciting to plan a new bedroom. We have fresh paint & new carpet in one room. I have been painting storage closets, shelving. Looks fantastic, all of it.
Mommyof2, I have never heard of winter & summer curtains. Sounds like too much work....lol...we have no curtains, just blinds. They are a pain also, they get dusty. Wish I could hose them off!
Fall colors are amazing. I golfed yesterday, in the canyon. Today, old man winter is blowing through. Oy, not a fan of winter. I just cannot stay warm. I get acclimated around Feb. Hoping/planning on going south. For a week or 2. Now we are getting the house ready to sell. It's a enormous undertaking. We have been here 24 years, large house, too much junk. But my junk is "good stuff", DH junk needs to be trashed....right ?

The last Monday of this month hubby and I are going to galena to stay in a civil war cabin . We did it 5 years ago and had a blast. It is located on a horse and cow farm. We said we were going to go back every year . Can't believe it has been 5 yrs and we didn't go back. Time passes to quickly if we aren't paying attention. We kayaked the Mississippi and rode mountain bikes on that trip. To cold to kayak this time, so we will do a lot of hiking. Can't wait !!!!!!

Love having two different sets of curtains. The lightweight ones are for spring/summer and the heavier ones are my fall/winter ones. I made a most of them, but a couple were store bought and modified for the proper fit

We have blinds also.... but the verticle ones, which I ordered on-line! One is fabric on one side, a pale blue, to match the walls, but plastic on the inside.... they are like "black-out" blinds. Good for Summer AND Winter. The other's are a pale blue like plastic.... I just spot clean them.... Also have sheers OVER them, to stay closed all day and night. Those get washed once in awhile. So now if we have air-raids they can't find our house!
MOMMY! Okay, how's that? Ha! I know some gals used to use Caps all the time.... I don't MIND them, but the bold is a little hard to get used toI
I spent at least an HOUR today, on the phone AND on the computer, to Apple, trying to get my iTunes installed again! I mean it was a real PITA! But we did it! I had SOMEHOW lost my whole library! About 1000 songs! It was there a few months ago, and then it was GONE! I tried and tried, but finally called Apple, and this kid that I could understand, helped me do it!
They are all my favorite songs! Geez!
Spookie! Husbands never get rid of anything.... The only way that happens is if we do it for them, and then don't say anything! Like the 20 pairs of jeans and pants he had stuffed in his closet! I took out the ones in the back, and left him about 10 pair.... He never would have noticed, except I told him they are NOW in the basement! Hah! He might forget them anyway.....
I organized all of my clothes.... Now I know where everything is..... again! Then next Spring I have to change out a few things.

Spookie, we have gone to Indio, Ca. for spring break, for years. It's on the outside of Palm Desert & Palm Springs...
A good friend of ours has a house there, his parents second home. Parents are deceased, but he & sis kept it. We sometimes stay with him, sometimes rent a house in his golf course community. I am not picky about the housing, neither is DH. He is unsure about how long he wants to go for. We will see. Also, it's only a 12 hour drive from here....

Owlettes, Hi, Sunday night. DBF is off trying to fix his car AGAIN. Poor guy, just can't accept that he doesn't know everything. .... He did the screen enclosure. My final plan wasn't what I first envisioned, but still very happy with the outcome. Had to consider cost as the trellis was 32$ a sheet. Family target visit date is Oct 25th. It'll be interesting to see what projects get done before they come.

Awwww chevy, it was fun! Wish we could DO lunch more often. You can always come back, leave DH at home if he doesn't want to come. April is darn near perfect weather wise. Just sayin'.
