Chevy, See if Denver has Craigslist. You can specify what you want to look for, pick dealers, people or both and the cars have pictures. I just bought a car we found on Craigslist and DS has bought several.

Hello Owlettes, hope all is well. I have had computer and electric problems. Lightening strike and after finally getting back here, I hit the touch pad and wiped myself out. Then a second try,  BCO did one of those auto log out thingys wipeout. Hopefully I can get this through

Chevy LOL FUNNY about the cranberry jello cake. but the mistake sounds wonderfully tasty. Did that with a salsa once, it was the best ever. We were fixing two different recipes, DH put two ingredients into the wrong recipe. Forgot to write the mistake recipe down. Your story of the critters getting into your food. I had an appetizer tray outside the door in near zero weather. Brought it indoors . The aluminum cover was disturbed. MICE. UGH!

Patty, very happy you had a wonderful day and All were so helpful. Sorry about the pain. I'm going to the ENT doc Monday to see what we do with the neck thingy. Before I get sx or RAI again. I'm going to see if he won't do a phone consultation with Moffitt CC doc. SX, I think I'll go to Moffitt. In the meantime, just having fun. Always sumpin.

Going to do short posts so in case of a wipe out it isn't a disheartening total loss.

Chevy the cell phone pic in Florida is absolutely true except in a BLOW. Then it's you all looking at us.

Mommie Happy Happy, Life with Princess is proceeding so nicely. Not sure at all about how fast kitties litter train, but it sounds fast. The small joys of life :)

Mags, sounds delish. What a treasure to be given. ......Havilland for dinner. Love it. My table was a mix of new and old. I miscounted. Should have set for twelve, seating for ten. PUNT. DS popped in right away and said he and GF would sit at the kids table. Methaphor that all understood. They ate on the deck. Filet of Mignon Roast. Not done quite well enough. PUNT. Threw some pieces on the stove top in EVO and seared. The rare medium pieces for those of us that like rare were like butter--divine

Chevy, I think the jello box says not to use fresh pineapple?.. I agree with LMG's get a car that won't be trouble getting out of or hurt your hips. My hips healed, but it was an expensive lesson.

Rose, I think you are right about the conspiracy re the foreign cars. How many countries now own Real Estate here of the biggest properties or production? Rockefeller Center, Budwiser, Port Of New Orleans? Don't have to go to war with the USA, just buy it up.

HI1--slept through Black Friday. Likely will regret it b/c my fax/copier/printer got fried in he lightening strike.

Wren, Paws Thanks for your service of taking care of shelter animals and fosters. Bless you :)

Blessings loved the bra, congrats on graduating to a year YAY

Smarrty hey BTW your pic with DH is great and the new doo too.

    2TA?????????? Calling

News Flash! Can't say anything to family. But I can tell my family here. DS drops in phone conversation on Friday that DGF is moving in with him. That she's started looking for a job in Tampa. I'm sooo, excited. I could hardly breathe. You can tell they are so in love. He's so relaxed and happy around her. Everyone that met her T-day thought she was wonderful.

well, I never got out of my pj's which doesn't mean I didn't get anything done. Too late now to get dressed. I did get 2 websites updated. Got the newsletter done and out in the mail and email. Got a new quilt project cut out while showing a GS how to make a quilt. He decided it was kinda neat to learn. He's 11. I still need to start wrapping Christmas presents now because DH doesn't do that. Not wrapping a lot, mostly going to be gift cards. but need to print envelopes out, probably tomorrow.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. Now Christmas is only 25 days away! I'm actually going to put up the tree and decorations this week. I have never done the tree early in 47 years. It usually is up one week before and down the day after. So guess I'm in the Christmas spirit. Yeah! Ho! Ho! Ho

  • Way behind, can't even remember if I wished everyone happy thanksgiving. But I came across this pic and couldn't help but think of Sassy.

Jwoo, Thank you so much for sharing your photos. They brought back many memories of London (and the Kew) and made me sorry I didn't see more of the countryside.

happy to share. i LOVE England. Probably more than i should. Everywhere is full of history. I love all of Europe, really. I am just in awe of the living history that is visible all around. But the weather- i like ti rainy, cold, and dark! London leaves me so energized- it is an electric city. Kew- we did not even scratch the surface, and the temperate house was closed :( they are repairing/restoring it) We only saw a fraction of the gardens, and I was just amazed. So much beauty in one space.

hi mommy, see you're up. Me too. How's the new baby doing? Does she sleep when you're awake? Mine are all back in my bed. I hate this part where I can't get back to sleep in the middle of the night.

    Anybody else up

Princess is doing well. Still going to the kitty box on her own. The only thing we have to do for her is to pick her up and put her down in front of her food and water dish. We keep them out of the dog's reach. When she's had her fill, she jumps down on her own though. She naps during the day and then when we go to bed,she crashes in the kitty bed that we had for Charcoal. Thinking about getting her a new one as Charcoal's is about shot!

I got one big part of my day done. Finished decorating the tree, suprisingly the kitten didn't get under my feet while I was doing this.

Badger YAY another accomplishment --great job :)

Nettie, Hi hope all is well :). Your punch bowl set is Star of David or Prescut. More likely Star of David by Anchor Hocking. Unusual to have a full set. The conical shaped dish is the base for the punch bowl as you likely know. What's fun with the base is you can use it as a dish by itself. Turn it upside down it can be used as a candle holder.

Allot of both patterns are coming on the thrift market. What's nice about both patterns is they are so close, you can use them both without really seeing the difference. Not many patterns can that happen with.

Nettie, pick the busiest thrift store near you and make regular visits every week or so. I rapidly was able to get a number of pieces for my cleaning gal. She now has a whole set of serving pieces for a relative pittance. Have fun.

Jwoo------try and get the pattern name for BFF Fostoria

BBL 1 pm appointment with ENT doc about neck thingy.

Jwoo great pics.  if you don't have pattern name, do a pic. I love playing glass detective. Reread your post, sounds like any aqua opalescent piece of Fenton. ???? How do you know they are Fenton? I'm going to look at Replacements.com. If BFF has a group shot of the pieces from different angles , close-ups--I can identify the patterns. Aqua& cobalt are usually higher valued then other colors.

2nd ---so delish to not get dressed. Same as choosing not to open the mail, or not cooking dinner, or not doing laundry.

Neck thingy--ENT doc wants to watch and wait. Proirity, is to get the levels to settle. Yeah, trying hard, very hard. Like I want the cancer spreading. Stupid thyroid.

jwooo-Aqua  Opalescent is a pattern name. But it shows only one piece a bell. Are you buying only bells/

    http://www.replacements.com/webquote/FENAQO.htm

HahHa- Fenton produced hundreds of patterns. Aqua Opalescent is an actual pattern. Rc only has one item in it's listing for that pattern. Wandering around ebay, Images and this catalog. Other patterns might have an aqua opalescent color. So, this is a rare case where it is a pattern and a color.

I also, found other items that have the coloration of the one item on RC. Tough call to say it's from the pattern Aqua Opalescent.  or just the color aqua opalescent.. Rc isn't perfect. Just close to perfect in listing items. I have found items that are to me absolutely in a pattern , but not listed in the lists for RC. Is that clear?

I found this catalog from 2005. It very artfully presents glass on each page. Beautiful. I would suggest wandering through each page. It will give you a good sense of what Fenton is AND is not. I find too often Ebay sellers mislabel things or don't take the time to label at all. After looking at this catalog, try to google catalogs from different years. Never know what you can pull up.

    http://www.fentonartglass.com/catalog05/catalog_index.asp

Sometimes on Ebay, you can snag the best deals when a seller doesn't take the time to identify a maker.

In the listings for color aqua & opalescent glass., a couple of pieces were listed at 13+ and 18 + $'s.........all the other listings were way, way pricier. They could be Fenton, maybe not. Could be a lazy seller. Sorry, but it's great for us when they are lazy.

I don't know if Fenton always put a makers mark on the glass. I know many glassmakers either didn't or weren't consistent. If you see a listing that says unknown and you question, and the seller says it can't be a certain glassmaker b/c it doesn't have the MARK. Just isn't true.

The exception to this is.....with pattern molds that have been bought out and sent to China. If you think it's a  China  reproduction ask the seller. If you buy it,  examine it well. Once in hand you can generally feel the quality difference. Once I sought a refund. Another piece the cost was similar to a Target item. It was a red seasonal bowl. Price was okay so, I didn't pursue it.

    Have fun :)
