You can see Shovava @ the bottom. I went to her web site.

On her tops page, she had two crocheted tops. 48&58 dollars. Not as nice as your creations :)

Chevy, the pic u put up last night of the cat on the dog bed and the dog looking at their dog bed was exactly how it was here last night

  • Just got word that one of my long time friends went into a hospice facility - she's living with her son & his wife in eastern WA and was on home hospice care. She has advanced breast cancer & has stopped treatment. Her dil says her pain became unbearable and the doctor said she needed to go in for better pain management. I'm feeling so bad for her. I need prayers for her and hugs for me, friends.

This is my "new" car... So far I know where the gas goes, how to open that little door, the hood and the trunk! I am a whiz! I have the radio "set" and I pretend I know what all the other doo-dads are on the dash... So far so good! I even have my seat adjusted! It goes UP, down, forward and backwards, AND it tilts forward! I can even see over the steering wheel!
My left foot feels rather useless without a clutch... I have driven it around a few blocks, but compared to my other 15 year old Chevy with a clutch, I feel like I am driving a high-speed Camaro.... AND I can control all the doors and windows.... HAH!
So now I will say "Get IN, sit DOWN and shut UP!" I have so much power now... Me AND the car.
Our Nephew is coming over tomorrow night, to finalize the deal... So then I will be driving all around this town!
    Thinking of you Martha..... L&H's......

My car is a 2011 Chevy Cruz... with "stuff" in it.... things I am trying to figure out.... Ha! I just went out to look at it in the garage.... It's like a "present" every time I see it.... DH just said he is paying for it! Don't get any better than that...... I thought I was going to... so now I have to be extra nice...Ha!

Martha, so sad, many hugs to you both.

Chevy, same color as the pic? Does it have snow tires? You need to post a pic with you in front of the car.

Morning owls. RAINING here! This will help a little with the drought. Got most of my stuff ready and done. Going to wrap presents. No cold so far! Yeah

Chevy- I drove a cruiz all over Jacksonville when I was out. It handles well and is peppy and comfy- big trunk. I didn't like the keyless start and the car was so quiet I left it on one time because I didn't realize it was still running! Luckily I just ran into a store for a few things and when I came back out.. and opened the door the airconditioner was on! It is a very quiet car. The one I rented was deep red. The gas mileage was great! Hope you enjoy it. What color did you choose? I agree with Smarty- take a photo of you with your new wheels!

You know that stupid part to start our Passat costs 450.00! ..gggrrrrr It's still sitting at the dealers... Devildead! Yay for German engineering! NOT!!! It only has 108K. I wish we had our old toyota back or a Subaru. Although I got a rental car when my Caravan was getting repaired that was a Subaru Outback and the steering was so tight it was like driving a Tank...you needed muscles! Seats were too hard too. I was glad to give it back. We have had Subaru legacies, a sedan and a wagon and I loved both. We gave our Subaru legacy wagon to a family that desperately needed a reliable car and they drove that thing for YEARS. (I actually gave the car to the Quaker Meeting because I didn't think the family would take it from us, but might if it was donated. It had over a 100k but was in otherwise good shape. Made me feel good every time I saw them in the car. Sow seeds of kindness. ) My Caravan is very comfy and it fits 3 kids and 3 dogs much better -gas mileage sucks.

Smarty yay for rain! You folks need it.

Mostlymom- I am sorry for the decline of your friend. Prayers for Martha and her family and you too.

CHEVY, if you have the owners manual with it, go have a bubble bath and read it. Then, go sit in it and figure all the stuff out.

It took me 3 months to figure out how to get the high beams to work! I had to ask dealer. Should have read the book!

    Good Morning all....

Jwoo, thanks again for the amazing photos. It was like a mini vacation looking at them.

Blessings....Love the video.....that should be shown, over & over in Jr. High.....I think it would sink in if taught, but sadly so many people have no clue. It needs to be role modeled.....

Busy, as always....off to paint, hair cut, PT, tennis....I will be exhausted by 8:00...

I realized last night that the radio in my new car is not the one in the manual. Much more complicated. I'm going to try to find instructions online. That may explain my problems trying to set radio stations. Maybe I'm not pushing the right buttons at all.

Yes Wren.... If you type in "anything" you will find an answer! I've done that a lot!

Spookie, I think I know what almost everything does! Just drove my Daughter's 2006 Toyota Corolla, and it is pretty basic... She loves it, but mine has a lot more doo-dads.... I'm learning them all though... It's harder than learning my new Dell with Windows 8.1....Scared

I think all this is good for my brain though... wouldn't THAT be nice?

DH and I got our cars about a month apart. My Chev, his Nisan. Both 14s, and no we didn't hit the lottery.

But we had a lot of fun comparing whose car did, or didn't have things. He has Bluetooth, I dont. I have OnStar, he has no nav. system. Stuff like that, and how to work it all. He can be tech challenged.

    Enjoy it!

Bought Princess a new cat bed. Keeping the old one for downstairs naps though. Didn't think she was going to like or even try the new one, but this morning I woke up to her purring away in it!

Morning!  Spookie, I don't have a clue what Bluetooth is... I don't have OnStar, because we don't go anywhere other than where we always go...  Ha!

I'm not saying DH is Tech challenged, but he doesn't know exactly what "Tech" is...Winking  He used to re-build engines, change transmissions, brakes, clutches, etc. but those days are long gone...  We just get set in our ways and habits, and he doesn't like to try anything new.  He learned by doing things, not by reading any manuals...  but in THOSE days, you could work on cars yourself, and not have to take them to a regular mechanic for everything!

His Nephew, who we bought the car from, is just like DH was!  He has his Dealer's license, and works on cars, and has been working with his Son, building him his little cars...  He races on dirt tracks...

So I'm just glad I got a nice car... And DH paid for it...

Mom2!  How fun!  Princess has her own bed!  Can you send a picture of her in it?

Morning Owlettes :) I'm very excited, another glass find at the SPCA thrift 6.00$. It's a  pressed glass container with a lid, 4 3/4 in.  high x 4 1/4 in. wide, veritcal ribs on the container that match the lid , Rope or scallop edge at top and bottom. I was thinking for my cousin for tea.

Guessing it's first production use was a small humidor.

Get it home find a makers Mark : "A" with " 81" below the A in the center of the pontil (bottom) "limited edition"  around edge.

Researched makers marks This is where it gets fun.  http://www.glassbottlemarks.com/bottlemarks/

Hoping it's the later dates(1939 to present), then it can be used without to  much worry. But could be Adams & co or Agnew & co. They both go back before 1900. One source said "a stand alone A is not a common mark". First source only identified Agnew and Adams. The source in this link, ID's an additional company that I will chase now.

JWOOHOOTIEHOO:) this is a antique site I used for years. These folks are serious about their listings. Almost always they have things identified by maker and pattern. They are pricier than Ebay for that reason. In the early days of glass collecting, I depended on them allot. Again it was b/c they had things identified. I learned allot from these sellers :)

CHEVY, my DH is the same. He and his bros would throw a block and tackle over their moms maple tree and swap an engine out over a weekend. With hammers and vice grips. I'd say the car is making a noise, and he'd fix it. No more. It's take it to the dealer

Chevy, thanks for saying that I really appreciate it. Glass can be so much fun. Sitting looking at my new piece talking to it(thinking) "Now who made you and when?" Almost choked last night again, when the only makers marks that were coming up dated it pre- 1900. Thought "SHEESH, now I can't use you either". Now have found two other possible makers. Armstrong Cork and American Glass works. Both since 1930's till more recent.

Love your new car, Cutey. When I had the Prius for 5 weeks. I found I was watching all the motor movement screen thingys versus the road. Just  like Rose said, the keyless ignition is a new learning experience. Felt strange to have to always be thinking  "Now what do I do?"

Spookie so funny "It took me 3 months to figure out how to get the high beams to work! I had to ask dealer. Should have read the book!" Yes, all else fails read the directions :). I'm in the same boat, but not as bad. This is the fourth Toyota van sine 1984-1985. Amazing how they kept allot of the working stuff in the same place. BUT they reduced the cupholders to 4, the 2004 had 17.

Wren, first time I can work the radio and see the screen, but the a/c is much more complicated. Why complicated the A/C?. Now if I can just figure out how to set the clock---Oh yeah ---read the directions :)

Mommie Princess is settling in soooo well Very nice. Happy for you.

Last weeks lighting strike costs are up to 180.00$. That's not with the cost of a new printer/copier. Lost the printer b/c I plugged the phone line cord into the wall versus the surge protector. Oh well. Lost the alarm system b/c it was direct into phone line too.

Promised someone to do a drug search for them, going to be quite a project. BBL

    2Ta call anytime

Blondie Hugs :) Hope you have a good day :)

Waving at all that I missed :)

Found it ---YAY I can use without worry. Armstrong Cork Co. Glass Division Lancaster PA.

"Armstrong apparently used a two-digit date code on each container base, probably from the beginning.  We have recorded codes of 41-56 (1941-1956).  The codes may be above, below, or to the right of the logo.  The bases also contain a one- or two-digit mold code, usually preceded by a dot or period (Figure 2).  As mentioned above, at least some Lysol bottles were made by Armstrong (Figures 3 & 4)." -------1981.

This is pretty close to my first Claret jug. The silver portion is called the collar. It screws off. My jugs collar and handle is more ornate. I didn't have a clue that it was a Claret jug when I found it. Then the search began. It has a glass sleeve inside to put ice into to chill the wine.

The way it was originally used was the "wait staff" would take  the claret jug to the wine cellar and fill the jug from a cask of wine. or open a bottle and pour it into it. :)

I'm still scrolling trying to find my little jar and scrolled by this

BTW the Ebayer had it listed for 93$. Nope, I didn't pay anything near that Uh Uh

I can't remotely start the car.... thank heavens.... and my little key-thing looks like a regular modern thing that you click and the doors unlock, but it DOES have a" key" that pops out to put in the ignition. Is that what you mean?

If anyone's looking at the clock around five, could you remind me to feed my friends fish. I have notes all over the place. She's in the hospital and DH's in Maryland.

Edit; I fedthe fish, took out the trash, and brought in the mail. Then I called my friend and asked if I could eat the shrimp that had been in the frig for 3 days plus. House duty for sure, make sure nothing goes bad in the frig.
