Good for you Kindergarten on the weight loss and feeling better as a result. Went tonight to the senior prize assembly at our sons grammar school and he was given an award and popped in for fish & chips on the way home.

Body balance at the gym this morning.

Kindegarten, good job. I'm with you. Since getting diabetes dx a month ago I also have dropped 10 lbs and you are so right it was primarily the bread, which I love. In a month I have had only 2 slices of multi-grain bread, no potatoes, no pasta, 2 small servings of brown rice. Other than that my lunch/dinner meals now consist of veggies, fruit, veggies, fish, veggies, fruit, veggies, chicken/turkey (fresh cooked; no cold cuts), veggies, fruit, veggies and maybe some small portion of red meat once/week. Breakfast usually a veggie omelet (no toast) or small oatmeal with cranberries. Interestingly enough is I cut way back on portion size but because of the protein I'm not hungry between meals and not feeling deprived. Must say though I do occasionally eye the bagels at work but can easily turn away. I'm also feeling good and sure the exercise has lots to do with that. I think in the last month I may have only missed 2-3 days - a big plus for me.

Went to gym after work and did 20 mins on stat bike, 20 mins on treadmill and 20 mins weights.

Ruth, my cards are still not out either. They are sitting right here staring at me and probably won't get done tonight either. Sad

    Night my sculpted friends.

I did row 3500 meters on the machine on Tuesday, and walked the dog for a mile at lunch today. Gotta get back on track!

Great job on the diet, weight loss & exercise, patoo! I am glad your cards are not out yet or I'd think you were perfect! Winking

Subbed all day (never sitting down for a minute, so it should count for some exercise!), did a pilates DVD, went Christmas Caroling with some friends at a nursing home (very fun), and forced myself to do 30 minutes on the treadmill. I am tired, tired!

Great job on the weight loss Patoo.

I did Body Jam Tuesday, yesterday did Sh'bam in the morning and in the evening did a new class called Grit Plyo - there are three components to Grit, one is Strength, one is Plyo and one is Cardio although my cardio went through the roof doing Plyo and then finished the evening with Body Pump, I was so tired last night I was asleep at 9.30pm virtually unheard of for me. Tonight did Body Jam

Congrats on the big weight loss Kindergarten and Patoo - way to go! Yep, we just can't keep eating like we're 25 years old any more, can we?? Cheryl - your evening sounds exhausting!

Glad to hear that others don't have their cards out yet - I really want to get them done tonight so they can get in Saturday's mail.

PT exercises yesterday morning. Two mile walk to our work holiday party last night - it was being held at the community center a mile from home, so decided to walk there and back. Good thing, as the food was excellent Italian food. I was very good and had mostly salad and veggies with only a bit of the pasta, but did splurge on an excellent chocolate cake - that slice of cake was definitely worth every calorie! Happy

Yesterday was walking around Downtown Seattle, trying to get some Christmas Shopping done. Got a few things off my list prior to meeting my guy for wine and then a show. The show is at a dinner theater with marvelous Thai food. YUM! Hoping for a run later today as a short day at the office. I am sooooooooo behind. I do a general Christmas email as learned a long time ago that cards never make it out the door.

I am migrated over to my new computer at work, so glad to have that one behind me. Tons of work this Christmas season, so not sure what else I will get done. I do need to catch up on exercise which is the only way for me to come out roughly even.

Congrats on the weight loss Patoo!!!! Also thank you for mentioning that more and not less protein keeps hunger away. I have also found this to be true. I remember someone eating just vegetables with very little else about 15 years ago after being diagnosed with heart disease. The poor guy was starving for years!!! More protein sure made a difference in his life.

Need to hit the exercise ball and then hit the road. Happy Friday before Christmas everyone!!! I LOVE this time of year. So wonderful and joyous. Speaking of carbs, think I will make scones to have with tea tomorrow. My guy will be impressed and I do need to make him feel special post walk to see the pond here. I am so excited.... - Claire

I'd like to join here and give myself a little more accountability. Just finished chemo last Monday and have surgery next month, and I'd like to get back as much strength and endurance as I can.

Cassie - welcome and congrats on finishing chemo! This is a great place to start to pick up the pieces and work back to fitness. LB - sounds like a grand holiday season with DS and DH both home.

Woohoo - got my cards out last night!!

Did a four and a half mile run in the park this morning - it was a cold (29 degrees) crispy day - perfect for running. At one point, a fox ran across the trail in front of me - he was magnificent with a thick shiny red coat and puffy tail with a full white tip at the end. Heading down to DC for an early birthday celebration - my b-day is Wednesday, but we're doing our big celebration today. We're taking in a matinee at Arena Stage of "Five Guys Named Moe" (I love Louis Jordan music), then heading over to Nats Park to peek through the gates at the preparations for the NHL Winter Classic taking place there on New Year's Day. From there we're heading over to Barracks Row to hit a local steak frites place which is supposed to have steak and fries to die for, then from there we're heading to the White House grounds to see the National Christmas tree. I should rack up all kinds of steps today! Happy

hi all and welcome CassieCat.  Mary, no kringle but locally-made candy (butternut crunch & peppermint bark), and no curds but Bucky Badger string cheese, morel & leek jack, cranberry chipotle cheddar, and of course the chocolate cheese fudge.

Posting 18.25 miles walked for the week: at work, the indoor track Weds & Thurs and outdoors this morning.  Not the warmest day but I just craved fresh air so bundled up and did my 2.5 mile route.  Glad I did; love that feeling of well-being.  ♥

CassieCat - welcome and congrats on finishing chemo and on your 30 min walk today. It doesn't matter the speed, just that you did it so you go gurl! Exercise certainly does help physically and emotionally.

Hi to all. No exercise yesterday as busy with church 'stuff'. Also today from 9 until about 4 but will hop on the treadmill in a bit. I'm really tired bu back at the point where I miss exercise rather than forcing myself to work it in.

    Night sculpted friends.

Rowing class this morning....did almost an hour total on the erg for a distance of about 10K. Then we had a holiday brunch....yum! We just signed up for Amazon Prime, and you can stream free videos so I made a watchlist with a bunch of different yoga videos. Will see how they are!

Welcome Cassie, after the chemo it will take a while to get your strength and endurance back up. Take baby steps and one day at a time!

CassieCat: Welcome! And congratulations on finishing chemo.

Patoo and Kindergarten: Congratulations on your weight loss, especially during this season of parties and food!

Patoo: My Christmas cards were also staring at me and I finally finished them - they were mailed earlier this week.

Hi All. Love reading what everyone is doing. Such active ladies! Had to go to the doctor today for a sinus infection. Once I feel better I will get back being active like all of you.

Welcome Cassie! Just do what you can for now; whatever that is will help your bounce back faster both physically and emotionally too.

Well, I figured out what was making me feel so tired and 'blah' all week; not the subbing, but a urinary tract infection. A couple doses of antibiotics and a long nap this afternoon have made me feel a little more human again. I think I will be back on the exercise track again by tomorrow, and hopefully back on the 'getting ready for Christmas' track too....otherwise we might be eating Cheerios for our Christmas Eve feast. Shocked

Welcome CassieCat. Ughhhhhh Ruth you poor thing lucky you got the antibiotics and are knocking it on the head. I did my overseas Christmas cards earlier this week and today as some of you know you got the e-cards so I'm done, I hadn't bought a single gift until last night, I just hit the stores and plowed through and wrapped everything this afternoon so now I'm ready. I got a cortisone shot in my foot yesterday and it hurt like heck, still really sore today but should be okay in a few days. Mary your special day sounds wonderful. Will be back on the exercise wagon soon.

Cheryl and Ruth and Wonder - no fun being down for the count this time of year - hope you both feel better soon! Ruth - Cheerios for Christmas Eve - just add some strawberries on top for holiday red color and voila!Happy Cassie - 30 minutes on a treadmill a week after finishing chemo? I'm impressed - I could barely walk to the corner and back at that point! Lilac - that tree cathedral is beautiful - I've had the thought that sometimes trees lining a path look like a cathedral - neat to see someone actually bring that image to life.

We had a wonderful time in DC yesterday - I racked up 24,515 steps! And good thing too - the steak frite place was everything we'd heard, and we even topped off dinner sharing a slice of wicked chocolate fudge cake. The "Five Guys Named Moe" show was fabulous - no real plot of course because how many musicals really have a plot? But was high energy and wonderful - 5 good looking young men dancing and singing their way through Louis Jordan songs, updated with a modern flair. At one point each of the actors invited an audience member to dance a conga on stage, and one of the actors invited me!!! I can't dance worth beans, so I teased the actor that I was the comic relief. But hey, if you get a chance to dance with 5 young men who were absolute cutie-patooties, you grab it!! I guess I wasn't too bad - at the end of the show several audience members stopped to congratulate me on my dancing! (Maybe they were being kind.) We ended up the evening at the National Christmas Tree - I took one picture with the Washington Monument in the background, then another with the White House in back. They have individual little trees for each state and territory, so it was fun watching all the tourist take pictures in front of their home state trees. And so many international tourists too - I can't tell you how many different languages we heard. All in all, it was a wonderful night. The night had special meaning - it was almost 7 years ago to the date that I found the lump. You all know what that's like. Let's just say we're having a much better holiday season this year and I'm so glad to still be here.

No worries C-Cat, take it easy. You have been through a lot so, like others said, baby steps. Before you know it you will probably be putting us all to shame (well, except for hbcheryl who is an exercise miracle!).

    1 hour running in pool.

hbcheryl, I got some cards in the mail but still have t do my e-cards. Maybe tomorrow. Need to do laundry so I can pack for Florida.

    Night my sculpted friends.

What a wonderful, special night you had Mary! I am so glad that you are still here, that I am still here, that we all are still here!!!

I took one more day off from exercise; but did finish the bit of baking that I had planned to do, so accomplished something this afternoon anyway. It will be early to bed & for sure I will exercise tomorrow (school is out for vacation, so they can't make me substitute Happy).

12/22- spent an hour and a half at the gym today doing some resistance training for 25 minutes, 35 min on the bike and then a quick soak in the hot tub.

Cassiecat- you are still in the middle of treatment so do take it easy and as Patoo says, you will be able to get back on track with your work outs when you are past this and recovered. I hope you feel better.

I am heading out of town for a few days and going to slip off the radar for a bit, but wishing you all a peaceful holiday this week.
