Morning gals! Blessings, your Dad sounds amazing! He must be a lot of fun to be around!
Glad you can at least BREATHE! Yes, oxygen level is what keeps us going! I think our bodies are always trying to heal themselves... But so many things we do, or have taken might make other parts of us screw up..... At least that's my theory...
And maybe your body is getting back to normal now? Or is accepting everything you are doing! I'm just glad you are better...MY NEW CAR HAS AN ISSUE!!!!! Damn! We stopped and washed my car, with one of those high-pressure hoses? Well it lifted a tiny bit of paint right off the bottom of the right quarter panel!!!!!!!! I know what that IS, because on the car-fax report, it said slight damage to "right-quarter-panel REPAIRED".... So that meant during it's year as a rental car some DINK parked too close to one of those curb things! So since it was repainted there, a couple little spots washed right off the damn thing!
But I looked in the glove box, saw the right code for the exact paint... and ordered it online, along with a "primer." Amd I will somehow, get DOWN there, and smooth it out, then spray on the primer, THEN the matching spray! And NEVER USE THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE DOWN THERE AGAIN!!!
Oh well... I'm such a whiner... Now I have to order car mats for the front seat... to protect the mats that came with it... and that's all folks!

Hubby's laundry is done, now its time to kick back and relax.

Sassy- what brand of melatonin do you take?

I sent her a PM, because I have no idea where she will land once she gets out of the Hospital! I'm sure she will let us all know..... I just hate to try and call her in the Hospital....
DD gave me a new Tablet.... She got them for only $10..... and they had been $80 a piece! Now I just have to figure it all out. She was showing me the one she has, and it also takes larger pictures than her phone!
Another toy for me to fool around with....
0 -
I KNOW! They were selling them out at her store! She bought 6 of them for gifts!
0 -
I sent her a PM too. Maybe we could send her a card shower, to cheer her up.
Chevy- Wow on the tablet price. Wish I could have scored one at that price. geez. We gave one to my DD for xmas and it was 90 on amazon!

Morning Owlettes. 3:30pm
Patty, it gladdens the heart that the warm moist heat was so good for you that you were able to go to church. Can't get much better than that for an outcome. The ability to rejoice in the Lord with your family.
Wish I could step into a suit that did a whole body thing at once HMMMMMMMMM.
In regard to the interview of the docs. Docs think, in general, we will take what we get. UHUH, not so. Consumer satisfaction counts.
Chevy Yay a new toy. Wish I could learn how to take pictures. I used snapfish awhile back. Ouch, the pic caught my double chin in the most unflattering way. Thought I need to understand this allot more before I risk something like that being taken.

Paris Unity march 1/11/2015. 40-60 top officials representing governments from around the world. Today 1/12/2015 White House press secretary today admitted that a higher level USA official should have been sent to Paris.
The WH and Kerry are trying to do a tap dance explanation of why our official representative wasn't chosen with more thoughtfulness. The press is hitting them hard with the questions that need to be answered.
I believe the Obama needs to address it himself. Apologize to the French, USA citizens, and the world. No excuse for not recognizing the significance of the symbolism of his presence or at least Biden's. This unity march is a rare moment in history that hopefully won't be repeated. No excuses, just a simple "I'm sorry for not being present".
Yesterday, also, saw the escalation of terror. ISIS using children as suicide bombers. Three little girls over two days. Nigerian extremist Boko Haram killing an estimated 2,000 people.
The President of the United States was watching a ballgame.

Blessings Wonderful to see you and happy to see you sounding like your old self. Yes, oxygen is wonderful drug. Your Dads a treat. Sis........The whole access to pain medicine has been changing since Oxy has become such a drug of abuse and diversion. There is stiff government controls in place now checking on all prescriptions. There does need to be some better way of documenting the need. To many all over BCO are writing posts like Blondies of having trouble getting their meds.

Chevy, the owl gif is just so cute!
Tomorrow I'll start yoga at a great cancer support center near me, and I'm looking forward to it. I need to improve my muscle tone, my balance, and my concentration.
0 -
I still have an exercise bike to put together! Hoping it helps my hip.... Doc thought it would.... says it's better than walking!
0 -
I've heard those bikes make great clothes hangers!!!!!
0 -
Hey Dunes, you sound better than the last time we met for sure. Oh Yoga, my my. If I didn't hurt so bad after it was over.
Chevy, bikes are nice, but be careful they can stir up a hornets nest.

Chevy I have no arthritis in the knee joint, but the knees caps(patellas) have about three-four dx's attached to them. Basically the caps look like the moon surface. Unaware of problem till a bike led us to investigate. Only hurt if I fall or bike ride. I try to avoid falls and don't bike ride. Falls though have been numerous since original dx. Post polio affect is all the joints hyperextend(extend further in the wrong direction than should). Right ankle the worst. Basically, responsible for most falls. Seven closed head injuries on left. Most caused by right ankle turning. If I die of a head injury, know that the right ankle killed me.0 -
Spookie, strange weather? Dark at 2:30 pm?0 -

This is it! And I ain't gonna hang no darn clothes on it either! Hah! Is that what you do Spookie?
My Doc thought it would give that leg more exercise instead of just walking around the Mall... And I tried getting on one at one of the Sporting good stores, and it felt really good! This picture looks like it would be easy to put together, but I just wanted to wait until it warms up some....
Sass, you mean they can make things hurt that don't usually hurt? I'll just start off slow....

Chevy Yes

I had a used one I kept out on the deck. Eyeore used it to hang tools on.
IDK what you mean SAS. We had some rain today, supposed to get more tonight
0 -
spookie, it was as if it was dusk from mid afternoon till dark.0 -
Strange! Started raining about 1ish. Picked up the grands, didn't have to stay. Just as I got home about 2:30, it did get dark, and felt like a cold front blew through. Some heavy rain, nothing major or scary. Then just gloom and sprinkles till sun down

I'm going to start out slow too. On Saturday I took a walk, just to the coffee shop, maybe a mile. I sat and drank a nice hot latte and then walked back. That evening in church I was in a world of hurt. My knees hurt and my torso hurt. I do get rib pain from the cancer, but a gentle walk like that should not have caused so much pain. I had stopped exercising after the bone mets, and I think that was a mistake. I think I have to be careful, but strengthening the muscle will help support the bones. So, tomorrow starts a new regimen of discipline. Hope springs eternal. LOL

Dunes pleas go back and read what I wrote for Patty. When we have something, LOL we aren't normal. What we do and how we do it changes. No longer do we fit the modality that may fit the normal. We have to find out what works for us. We have to survive people saying do this. What works for you, works for you. The key is do. OH, AND HAVE FUN :_Spookie--very strange, very strange. It's now dark

Interesting Teka---------------No problem I will put you on the block thingy. But what's interesting is what I told no one about, you've told the world about. I wanted too, but didn't. Being stalked is a big deal. This last year was my only experience with it. Truly a learning experience.

Hey Ladies!
Well, all my overtime is over for now. WHEW! The funny thing is, last year I worked more hours, and had just gotten back to work after my BMX, and I wasn't half as tired as I was this year. BUT- I had just started the tamoxifen, so hadn't really gotten the full experience of it. Tamoxifen really does a number on energy levels. That fatigue really is apparent when you are trying to do anything extra. I just have to keep fighting through it all.
This has been a rough week for a lot of people I care about, and the world. 5 of my friends lost a loved one, 1 is about to lose someone, and between France, Germany, the bombing of the NAACP office in CO, and the absolute horror of the killings in East Nigeria, I just can't stop crying. I am frustrated that I can't fix it all. It leaves me feeling helpless. Which is why I am searching for ways to get out in the world to contribute more. Sitting in my comfy home on my computer isn't really doing anyone (including myself) much good. I just have to figure out what fits me best, with the maximum amount of good happening.
Which leads me to ask all of you wonderful folks: what do you do to help make the world around you a better place? Do you have a favorite organization you volunteer with? A particular group of people or animals you are most passionate about helping? Is there a cause that is most dear to you? Please post about it- because I am looking for something, some way, to do more for others, and need as many ideas as I can get to sift through.
I myself am enjoying cooler weather. It doesn't get the same kind of cold you gals have up north, but I would LOVE that. and snow. This permanent hot flash that the tamoxifen has gifted to me makes the cold a welcome thing. BUT
I have found that the cold makes me shiver- and if i start to shiver my entire BMX site nerves start going crazy. Hooked up to a car battery zappo crazy. for a long time. That is the only negative about the cold so far. Not fun. Anyone else experience that?
Mattresses: we went ahead and bought an all memory foam one- 8 inches thick. love it, but it is HOT. so we just got a thick bamboo mattress cover. Really keeping it cooler- will have to wait for summer to see if it really works though.
I went back to New Years to catch up. Here is my novel:
Holein1: yay! we've both been to space! personally, I would LOVE to be living on the moon. Or at least vacation there. Those lamps you found are beautiful!
and wth is up with a surgeon dropping that bomb on you for no reason? glad it was nothing, but dang!
Sas- I am not sure why the link I posted is giving you Madonnas and clowns. It should bring up : Normandy (3005) by Rock Sharpe [RKANOR] Pattern #: 3005
and about the person that asked for your help on SFTU, I am not sure I would have been able to control myself. Hats off to you.
I sure miss FBB, but so glad I got to have her thoughtful words briefly in my life.
how is Phylo?
I remember watching the news with the mall shootings in Kenya. It was crazy. Eric Holder was in Paris for the march- we were represented, and after watching Charlie Rose tonight, I believe the French people know that we, as a country, care very much.
Luvmygoats- I do hope your critters are doing ok with all this cold weather. I know it can be tough to keep everyone warm. How are your eyes? and omg- lucky you stocked that emergency TP away!
PawPrint- snow in SOCAL? Is that normal where you are? hope you can get rid of some of that scar tissue and don't have to have another surgery.
Teka-Tdangit- you deleted some of the prettiest photos! and thanks for letting us know about Blondie.
Smaarty- glad to hear your Tinker is ok. How are you feeling? is your recon settling well?
Wren44- Happy Anniversary! Did you get your study all straightened out?
Badger- how are you? and we love you too! right on with the Hippocrates quote. I think so many doctors are too worried about pain med abusers, that those that need it get lost in the red tape.
Cami- good to see you posting again more often. you are always missed. Hope you are doing well. How is Joey?
Blondie- I hope you are doing okay. Quit falling down, we know you did it just to get a hot male nurse to give you a sponge bath.
Footprints- I hope you are sleeping better ((hugs))
Maddy- you are the sweetest- catching every time zone

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! sorry I missed it.
Chevy- wow- how did your feet end up frozen? and I am sure they are still lovely, just different
I don't blame you for being angry with DH's family. They should at least invite your daughters if they are not comfortable being around DH.**I think we all need to move into your neighborhood and grow pot with you..
OMD- those owlets are precious!
Tang- glad your family member got everything straightened out with her DX info. scary.
Dutch- yay for new car! hope you are enjoying it! super cute photo of you as a kiddo!
Spookie- do you love your Spark? I think they are such cute cars. How've you been?
RoseV- Love that Lincoln quote! So sorry about your FIL and mom, and that you are not able to see your Aunt. Better that you moved and left the drama, but it doesn't make it sting less. I can't believe what kind of pain tolerance you have- i thought I was tuff, but you have me beat hands down! Card shower for Blondie is a great idea!
Magdalene- what a beautiful photo of the ice on the trees. but no electricity/heat is no fun, for sure! And sorry you also had so many issues with your family. You are right- let go of the toxic people in your life- it will only do you good. I hope you get some relief for your shoulder soon.
Sailingwind- divorces are never fun, and can be so hard when kids are involved. It def. brings out the true colors of people.
Beachbum- Hi! and happy to meet you!
Kjones13, nice to meet you, and I second what Beachbum said. make everyday with them the best it can be, they will have that forever.
Enerva- those bikes! wow! do you get headaches often? I can't imagine having one so bad you are sick to your stomach. so sorry that you get that.
dunesleeper- Hello to you! how many birds do you have? Hope you had a great trip with your mom.
Momof2- glad you are feeling better and the furbabies had a great holiday
LOL @ the alarm clock story! I've done that to myself before....Blessings- Glad for you that your sister has 3 adult kids- i hope they step up to the plate. Your FIl sounds like a powerhouse! I hope you are not wearing yourself out too much cleaning his place. Good to see you are doing things like driving again, adn that your O2 machine is helping you reclaim your life!. Very glad you and you DH did not catch anything with all the visits to hospitals, etc.
ShyShy- hope you are feeling okay and that your chemo is not too hard. I know it isn't fun, but there are some good threads about tips to get you through.
PattyPep! cry all you need to and bring your funk to us- (that is what we are here for,) but remember that you are LOVED! You WILL be here to see your boys graduate. I wish I could take away your pain. Personally, I would go with the younger MO. He has the benefit of being out of school more recently, maybe has newer treatments in mind, but also can rely on the more experienced dr. for advice, and won't likely retire soon. Sas's advice about interviewing them is great. Happy bday to DH!
Susan- SO SO SO happy that you are "back" to us! Sorry you were having such a terrible time, and glad to hear that you have a new treatment happening. Cute pup!
We, and the rest of the world, need more love in our lives. That includes giving as well as receiving. Remember to step back and take a break if you need to.

I hope I did not miss anyone. There are a lot of ladies that I don't see on here anymore. I hope you are all just living your life to the fullest.
xoxoxox
much love to all of you.

Hey ladies. So yep up in physical pain but emotionally I am much much better. Using sas's recommended moist heat right now. I talked to mo's nurse today and she said my current mo will still be there next week for my appt. yea. Hoping he can point me in the right direction of choosing correct mo. Scheduling told me they were putting all my mo's patients on the younger mo's schedule. What, I don't get a choice ??? They said no, I can see all of them if I want and then make a decision. Yea. Today I spent half the morning running errands around town preparing for dhs bday celebration. Walking and riding always hurts but thank God, I did both today.
Jwoo. - hey. Keep fighting thru indeed. Glad your overtime is over. I've missed your updates. Thanks for the younger mo suggestion.
SAS - I found the post was against moderators rules also. Glad it was deleted.
Spookie / very expensive clothes hangers... Lol.
Dune - a mile walk each way was starting out slow for you? Wow you go girl. Sounds like a marathon to me
Blondie - speedy recovery wishes for ya
Chevy - you are painting your new car ? Wow pole dancing income must be up for you. Wow: new hip, new car, new exercise bike, and now a new tablet - what's next ?
Kjones, Maddie , Susan , cami and everyone else I missed : Hey

Morning Mom2 and Peppermint! Everything good here.... The kids are squabbling in the back-ground, but we'll just shut their door till they work it out....! I'm just pretending everything is fine, and roses are blooming, and it is 75 degrees out.
And did you see what JWOW did? OMD she HAS to have a "list" with all of us on there, and what we are UP to! I mean I can't keep track of one DAY much less a week of our antics!
JWOW you have such organizational skills, and I am impressed! I'm just trying to figure out how to "sign on" or create a new account on this tablet! I finally got it charged, and ON, but I DID get the time and date set... It is a mini-computer! DANG! All these new inventions... I wish I had a kid around here to help me set it up!

JWoo, I currently have 2 birds, a parakeet and a cockatiel, both male and very verbal. I lost my beloved Peaches (cockatiel) March 29th and thought I'd never get another one. However, I needed a baby to take care of and got Dusty only a few weeks later. He was only a max of 6 weeks old. Oh! So cute. I actually first met him when he was only about as big as his feet are now. Out of all of them he came running right towards me. I held him and looked into his eyes and asked Peaches? Are you in there Peaches? LOL He's a mess. Never have I seen a cockatiel with such a tail as this boy has, but he is my baby and he is a delight. My parakeet is adopted and is named Soebe. Supposedly that means "green" in Japanese. I still miss Peaches a lot. He died too young, and it was a result of this stupid cancer that came in and turned my world upside down. I let him down.
I was volunteering for the Red Cross at blood donation centers and blood drives. It's easy, and since I pass out if I try to give blood (and now have only one arm and one vein available anyway) this was a way to help. I hope to be getting back to that, but first I have to take care of me. So, off to Hopewell I go. If possible I'd like to volunteer at Hopewell. I'll have to see what I'd be able to do there.
Patty, I'm newer to this stage IV stuff than you. I know you are really having a rough time, so know you are in my prayers. Anyway, apparently walking a mile was not starting out slow, lol. That's OK. I'll do anything for a latte, so I'll do that walk on nice sunny days.0
