dutchris....meals on wheels is great. I cook a little extra if I am doing soup or a casserole and deliver to my widowed or newly divorced friends. Or wait for them to get their hair done by me, and pull something out of freezer. That's my lazy way to do meal on wheels...lo

left for dinner and turned off the computer. Back now and mouse won't work? Any ideas?Jwoo couldn't hear any off the words On the "let it go " parody. Plugged in for "let it go" Lyrics. Apparently, this has been a well parodied song. There are about five on this web page. Link to follow. I'm way out of the loop. What was the original song.
http://www.tumblr.com/search/Let+It+Go+lyrics+parody
Is the original McCartney's song. "Let it be"? He wrote that song for his mom. She had BC.

Sassy, feed it (the mouse) some cheese?0 -
Unplug the mouse then plug it back in Sas
It is from some Disney movie that came out last year. Pretty annoying at this point, but the parodies are funny, and I thought that one was the funniest of the potty humor ones

Disney movie Frozen. Much overplayed song. Remember when John travolta couldn't pronounce a singers name at the ... I think oscars....she is the one who sings the song let it go from frozen. Not even going to try to spell her name. They're even doing the movie Frozen here in Chicago on ice

Teka, my first parakeet was the color of the water at St. Thomas, so I named him Thomas. However, he never got that blue coloring where the nostrils are; so for most all her life, she was a parakeet named Thomas. She died of a tumor on her testicles. LOL. It's tough with birds. So, Spookie, one of the primary ways of determining the sex of a bird is how much they verbalize. Verbalization can be whistling, tweetling, or mimicking sounds, including words. If, in the first six months of life, the bird starts verbalizing a good bit, tapping its beak a lot, bopping its head, these are all signs that the bird is male. Of course, nothing is an all the time thing. Thomas wasn't terribly verbal, but he was my first bird and I did everything wrong with him. He was probably terrified poor thing. A couple of my parakeets have been vocal (but did not mimic), and a couple were not terribly vocal. I guess they did all get going at times though. I never got any eggs from them. I assumed they were male, but Soebe is different from those others. Soebe has the deep blue cere. None of my other parakeets did. However, we know Thomas was male due to what killed him. Soebe is the most vocal parakeet I ever had. Between him mimicking Dusty and Dusty mimicking him and the two of them mimicking me and my neighbor's dog, I don't know who is making all the noise half the time.

The bird stories are very interesting, and great pics! I have a very nice aquarium that I love to watch. But since I live on the shores of Lake Erie, I am blessed to have a beautiful bald Eagle in the neighborhood. I live on the 10th floor of a high rise so when the Eagle flies by I have a birds eye view. I also have thousands of ducks and geese to watch, a very enjoyable hobby. And you can't beat a beautiful sunset!
Since I am single, I would like to find some friends to hang out with or maybe date. But now I have BC, and all the lovely side effects that I can handle to deal with. And a mastectomy to top it off. Perhaps someone has been in the same boat, and I was hoping to find some suggestions and/or advice how to deal with it. Any advice for starting a new relationship? Funny the guy that I was seeing on/off for 6 years got really, really busy when I told him I had BC. What a jerk!
Have a nice evening!

sorry beaxhbum, wish I had some good info for you. I know the people I have met in all the fundraising areas...walks, runs, and we have college basketball games, and hockey games we are invited to from the msnbc site. It's always a mixed group and everyone is very supportive. Maybe that could be a start of a connection to someone who would know someone . Hope you have events like that around you.
I had an aquarium to once. Salt water and all. It was very pretty.
My house would be a zoo if hubby let me.....lol.....I miss my snake

We only found out about Frozen this year. My great-niece (6) would come over with her mother to pick up her brother. Oh, how she fondled the ToysRUs catalogs. She'd open the page to the Frozen stuff and just rub her finger over various articles. So I had bought her what I thought was a cool denim set: stretchy denim jeans with zippers on the bottom of the legs, a patterned denim-looking blouse, a denim vest, and pink ankle boots with fringe. I figured she probably wouldn't like it, but she was going to get so many toys and already has so many, and I am tired of seeing her in those leggings things. So, I kept it. However, I bought a $5 package of 2 Frozen necklaces and an inexpensive package of Frozen earring stickers. (She's not allowed to get her ears pierced.) She opened the package and started tossing the clothes behind her. She had the pink necklace and the earring stickers in her hand. She was struggling to pull the blue necklace off the blouse with the other hand. I am SO glad I got those Frozen things and wrapped the one around the blouse so that it would show up when she opened the box. She was totally frenzied about getting that other necklace off that shirt and after she succeeded, she ran to daddy to show him. Too funny!

Beachbum, yes he is a total jerk. I, too, am single. When I think about dating, I first run into the body image thing from the mastectomy. When I overcome that, figuring anyone bothered by that isn't worth bothering with, I run into the stage iv wall. Maybe if I get a better idea of how treatments are working, I can move past that. My latest scans show mixed results with lots of bone mets getting better but some new ones showing up. I look forward to reading some of the answers you get. I just really want a friend. Someone to grab a bite to eat or a cup of coffee with. I miss Richard, who I was spending some time with. He was married, so it really was just friendship. However, he finally was able to move back to Lebanon, where his family had been for about a year while he was trying to get his house sold. I'm disappointed that he hasn't skyped or emailed. Sometimes I'm down right angry. I get let down so easily.

Susan3, I had a mini farm with goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, horses, and my fish. My husband hated them, I loved them. Sadly I don't miss my EX at all!

Hi dunesleeper, I keep telling myself some day this may be funny. Like the day I went to meet a friend for coffee and took my hat off and my wig was still in the hat! Or the day I tried to "fix" my boob and got upset so I just shoved the form in and left to go shopping. And it wiggled itself up and out of the bra. That was hilarious, I felt like I was trying to figure out my first bra in junior high school. I should have used socks, it worked then. I know that I don't feel so pretty and sexy putting on my wig, painting on eyebrows, gluing on eyelashes, and stuffing my bra. It's hard for me to be all confident when I'm waiting to see what part falls off. LOL I have issues just trying to assemble me, I'm not sure how I would handle a relationship right now. At stage IV I'm not too sure I have time find a man and get him trained. I think a friend would be well, just nice!
Thanks, nice knowing I'm not so alone.

every time I rub my face I wonder if I rubbed an eyebrow off. People are so used to me now....I am always saying....whoops are the lashes still on.....and people just nod their head. Sometimes they feel, like they are flopping up there. And I did laugh when the window of the car was open and the wig went flying off to the back. Good thing not out the window...that would have been a surprise for someone. I am married, I try not to put on my face everyday. Don't want him shocked when it all comes off at night . It certainly isn't easy.....but it is funny often too.
Hope you find a great friend

Susan3- we make Chinese food at home all the time - even potstickers. I learned how to make those from the internet. Just buy the wrappers. I buy the broccoli slaw, shredded carrots and snap peas for stir fries - add seasonal vegies. Sometimes we visit a Chinese market and buy bags of baby bok choy - so yummy. I steam it in a steamer. We make spring rolls with rice paper, lettuce, carrots, fake crab and fill them. We make our own peanut sauce - out for you. You can buy pickled vegetables and get rice vinegar and soy for dipping. I absolutely LOVE the Chinese eggplant. It's firmer and makes excellent stirfry. You really need to get an Asian market that has all the rice noodles, wheat and tofu.

A plant nursery in Houston had a Myna bird in a cage close to the seeds. If you tried to get it to talk it would just look at you. If you ignored it and looked at the seeds, it would say "Hi. My name's Joe. What's your name?" DIL was a music major and taught her cockatiel to whistle songs. He could do I left my heart in SFO and a march.

beachbum - those are stories you should share on the "You Know You're A Cancer Patient When..." thread.... https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/67/topic/755825?page=142#post_4268923 - only 142 pages to peruse if you want to read other peoples' experiences that only other BC patients can relate to.....

Miss Sassypants and others who know their antique glass and porcelain and china.... I'm going to post a picture of my Nana's hot chocolate set that is now missing a lid, but was passed down to me years ago. I love it, and will see if any of you can give me some info on how to research it.

Miscellaneous ramblings.....
Song: "Let It Go"
Movie: Disney's Animated "Frozen"
Sung by: Idina Menzel
She Was Called: "Adele Dazeem" by John Travolta
This movie got on my nerves the very first time I saw the trailer. Then the tsunami of "Frozen" covers hit, with every single parent in America posting videos of their children singing "Let It Go", mostly not very well. And every second piece of merchandise in the stores was some "Frozen" - related item. I thought I'd scream if I had to see any more "Frozen" stuff.... and then...... I discovered that Santa had left me the DVD in my Christmas stocking!!!!!
I did a good imitation of excitement.

Blessings not sure what planet I was on when Frozen was out, But I've never heard of it? There's about ten listings for it on IMDB starting in 1998 till 2013. What year? Can't wait for you to post china. RE:you--you sound so good. BTW noticed that my vertigo stopped awhile back.Beachie, LMG(littlegoats) has goats,

Sorry whomever asked about melatonin. Out right now. I forget brand as I was given about 4 bottles a few years ago. Certain things like fish oil, d3, b complex, selenium, probiotics, I get from a very reputable local health-food store. Melatonin too expensive there. Not had my level of concern raised about Melatonin from a grocery. If anyone else has any info

Sass, about Melatonin.... I took it for sleep issues while on Tamoxifen.... But then I started with the big D! Could hardly control it.... except by taking 4 Immodium AD a day!
Finally figured out that with ME, and taking Tamoxifen, it did NOT work! I slept better, but could not keep from running to the bathroom... So I quit the Melatonin, and then I didn't have any more problems... except the hearing issue.... so THEN I quit the Tamoxifen.
I just know that everything you take, might affect something ELSE with you.....
Also, I heard from the CAMMERS! So I'll post a little more later! I was really worrying about her.... but she is alright, but not her Brother's, and Joey is still driving her dog and cat nuts with the Clarinet. I told her to lock him out-doors when he practices.

I make my own sweet and sour chicken. I never bread the chicken like they do in the restaurants and in the sauce I add pineapples, cherries, carrots and green peppers.
My paternal grandmother had two parakeets (one green and one blue) when I was small that she called Starsky and Hutch.
My house is a mini zoo. Besides Princess and Jackson, I have a 20 gallon fish tank that has a betta, and several tetras and two catfish.
