Have to wait to have the drains out until the fluid levels drop down below 30 cc's for a 24 hr period. If that should happen soon, then I call the PS's office and they will make an appointment for me to come in and take them out. Hoping this happens by next week.

Hubby has been a real help since mom went home. Last night he brought home chicken sandwiches so all I had to do was heat up some tater tots. He even brought me home an Iced Coffee from Dunkin' Donuts!

Good Morning Ladies---oh so much is going on

Chevy u'r typing looked fine to me, but now u know why I have trouble haha my nails are long--they are mine so it's al clippity-clap (Get u'r mind out of the gutter for once) and my nails touch all kinds of letters way before I need them. And yes we were all awake wondering about those words, very important stuff.

MO sorry about those darn drains as u all know, I had mine in for 3 months but my crazy Dr. said no showers or baths---Oh that was terrible, no wonder why people never saw me.But I found a fantastic no rinse shampoo and body wash and boy did I and others appreciate it.

My job is a little slow right now but that's fine for me--I haven't been very talkative here anyway and I don't feel like talking to strangers anyway.

I've put my tests off and Drs too, so next week I'll get back to it. In fact tomorrow I should get all my blood work done and things that come out o my body done. LOL Oh figure it out Chevy, sometimes I do make sense.

I hope all goes well and there goes my phone.

    Good morning ladies!

Rose- glad you are here and the dress sounds like a lot of work, but hope it comes out well. Zoe sounds very cute too!

Chevy- looks like we may have some showers next week. Been too warm again for snow, but don't think winter is done with us yet either....

Cami- I hope you can get everything take care of with your bloodwork and apts. Which reminds me, I need to call my doc for a Vitamin D test and think I will ask her if I can recheck my A1C to see if that is doing okay too.

Footprints- I hope you are doing okay. Is your breathing better?

Mommy- simple pleasures are the best. The Dunkin Donuts coffee sounds yummy.

2nd time- how are your parents doing?

Sas- keeping resting until you don't need it anymore!

Got lots to do today so I will wish you all a good day and check in later!

  • Hey PattyP, I hope you can sleep it off. I usually put my ice pack on the back of my neck, and drink a little coffee and lay down when I get the nasty head pain going on. I don't have it very often, but when I do I lay down in the dark to make it go away. Glad to hear that your pain is getting better, I hope it stays that way for you. You can also try to pinch the skin between your thumb and index finger and hold it for several minutes. That works too, a pressure point.

M orning Owlies :). Awake. Got all the yearlies scheduled. No more scares. They wear everyone out to much.

Patty, I think your pain doc is wonderful. Wunnerful. Definitely the -go to guy. Migraines usual? If not let pain doc know. Okay. There's a reason. Remember pain doc, not anyone else.

Mommy , be patient. Little bit of patience goes along way.

Blondie great purple. How's the food? Any chance the Social Worker can fix things at home so it's better when you go home?

Foots Thanks and Big Big hugs. I know you did for me in private, I'll try and keep it private, but it was such a nice thing :)

Chevy and Cami excellent. The world is right again.

Rosie, Oh something seems simple then turns frustrating. You're such a nice mom not to just rip the whole thing up.

    Jazzy love that pic.

Enerva , Warm & fuzzies has been here almost as long as you have. LOL your post there "How could I miss this thread?" If you can transfer your pics from the previous page that would be loverly :)

Susan isn't that sweet that your friend s pay for a cleaning gal. Big HUGS to them.

Cleaning gal/friend here, need to go do side along cleaning. BBL

Went with DD to get her taxes done.... Then we went to Chipotle for those delicious BOWLS! Have you guys ever had one? We get the bowl instead of the wrap... I had a little, and will save the rest for Dinner....

I buffed my nails down....much easier to type... I USED to wear them really long.... you know..... Just went with the image and heels and stuff. But I usually don't glue them on anymore.... I had so much TRUBBLE with the skin on my hands, and I mistakenly blamed it on the acrylic and the powder I covered the nails with... not to mention the super glue...

But I am off to my old ways again....

That "care-free.... THWI attitude" and it's almost Spring, so I have to get to looking nice again.... even colored my hair....

Cams! You said they said you couldn't take ANY showers? You must have heard that wrong.... cleanliness is next to Godliness they always say.... oh well, so much for THAT notion...

We MUST stay clean.... remember the "cooties" ??? Well I never had any.... guess I know where they all were..... just sayin'.....

We are NOT strangers! Did YOU guys hear THAT? She,.... oh wait.... does she mean her gentlemen "clients' I mean "friends"? No, you rarely ever make sense.... but we as a whole don't care.. we as a forum don't care....

Jazzy! You say showers? Better than snow.... right? How do you get your R2D2 test done? Is that what you said? I had blood work done in December, but they just call back and say everything is normal.... So see? I AM normal..... Hah!

Mom2.... so glad you are doing okay.... Peppermint! Headaches? Is it from drinking too much.... Oh you say you don't drink? Thinkle just Peep you do? Oh wait.... That's Cammi...

'Hey Sass and Beaches....Going to go crochet now.... time to relax, like I never do it enough... Ha! xoxo

    Cams.... go take a shower....

If you all have access to a place called Cafe Yum, the food is WONDERFUL!!! Chevy made me think of it. They have these rice bowls full of vegies, crazy delicious sauce, tofu and all kinds of meat to add or not. SOOOO GOOD! My kids just love the place as do Mom and Dad. Another place that turned out fabulous is a place called "Native Foods." A vegan friend told us about that.. I thought oh sure... ten different kinds of dry cardboard..yummy... Scared Well I ate my words, as well as everything they put down! WOW! They have these vegan carrot cake cupcakes that are to DIE FOR! I mean if you could only eat one last thing... well it might be a toss up between that and the chocolate cupcake... hmm. I don't know how they do it..not using eggs or any milk. I know they have Native Foods in CA and OR, and Colorado and I think Washington. Try it out.

Poor Patty--- I hate bad headaches.. I hope the rebound effect from the meds leaves you soon. It might be the weather too, frontal systems just kill me.

I finished the dress! The hem isn't quite even... oh well. It's gotta do!

Chevy, all you have to do is have in proximity and off you fly YAY

Congrats on the hem Rosie, I'm sure your DD will be pleased

Jazzy wild woman, Mardi Gras must be fun doing it year after year. Please, keep us up with pics.

    Beachie where are you located?

I decided a month ago that part of the budget was going to be my cleaning gal Di. I had her sporadically before this with a concentration around holidays. Again I've decided she will be every two weeks. With the two dogs, it's a definite good move. She's taking care of all the stuff that I simply don't want to do anymore b/c of physical stuff. The biggest concentration is vacuuming and dusting. Then other stuff. Highly recommend it as a nice gift to yourself if it can be afforded. I do side along cleaning. The non strenuous stuff. It's nice. Kitchen, straightening. wash. Basically the too much  bending/pushing stuff.

Spookie scheduled for Moffitt Feb 19th and 20th. I'll drive over after noon of the 18th. Lunch on the 20th? My McGiver apt is 7:45 am. Likely done around 9:30.

Talked with Phyliss. They bx'd this little bean thing in her retroperotoneal space. Very uncomfortable. The little buggar that has been on her films for years, turns out to be a little nerve thing. Totally caught all her docs of guard. She' see's a new specialist Friday.

The good news is it won't keep her out of the study she's in. She starts radiation next Tuesday. The study is rads at a higher dose. Not sure all the particulars as I know there are dose dense rads, but this is different.(???) She's Happy that little buggar didn't toss her out of the study.

In case, anyone else has missed Warm & Fuzzie's thread I'll link it below. It's funny stuff, happy stuff, ironic, groaning, thoughtful, day brightners. The gals there work hard at posting and if you feel so inclined to post that would be SUPER :)

This is a groaner. Just redid the back pool deck. Bought three matching tables. Two with umbrellas and one for serving/bar/whatever. We had wind gusts the other day. One umbrella open. It lifted it and--unknown whatever---the aftermath was a glass top that was in a million pieces. New table frame--hah, need to be creative now as to make it into something. It's not a big deal. Trifle really. Just an annoyance. Hadn't redone the deck since 2004. Everything was coordinated. Finished a few days before the wind gust. OH well.

Blondie- I like your purple hair and your smile. You are getting better, I just know it!

Dang Sassy, that is a bummer about the problems with the deck. Wind can just do so much damage (it does here so very often).

  • Rosevalley
    Rosevalley Posts: 1,664

Sassy- sorry about the wind damage to your back yard. I am so glad the testing turned out great. I just got the itemized bill from Mayo and am still reeling from the amount. Our insurance was in network.. oh please. You could put a kid through state college for a year - PET/CT, bone mineral scan, various labs, 2 office visits and a 129.00 port flush. NO ONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS GETTING IN MY PORT!!! First try zip in and out. NICE. The quality was outstanding from a technical standpoint. Have to thank the radiologist. Funny I had so many questions and only got 2 of them answered. Feel like only cancer questions get answered all the personal questions about the rest of me - always ignored. Why do I bother to ask... ?

I really do feel like the body I live in is ignored and the real patient is my cancer... Ms Lobu-laura gets all the attention. What's she doing? Where is she now? Who cares if the body the cancer lives in and the person attached to that body is miserable - the name of the game is find and destroy Ms. Lobu-laura like it's a spy game... I am providing the battle ground for the games. What happens to me personally is utterly irrelevant... Care is so disjointed and fractured in oncology. I mean the side effects I suffer with don't matter if it controls the cancer because the cancer is the real patient - right? I mean realistically Ms. Lobular will win the final battle... it's what happens to me while they play their Cancer games in Cancerland that concerns me... the cross fire activity. I am having an existential crisis of sorts. I went shopping and lifted too many bags and now my upper arms ache something wicked. I hate living in Cancerland. It's living on the set of the body snatchers for real.. just blows. Rant over...

My DH is headed over to see my DD at her foster home. I dropped off her dress, pink bow and some funny owl earrings, and left them all in her room. She collects owls. DH is going over to fix her printer ink and give her paper. We go over lots. She comes here and we go there. It's nice to have her close. DH said he would try and score a picture. My kid LOVES pink frilly things... girlie girl to the marrow of her being! I saw 5 does eating grass in a meadow this afternoon, stopped to watch them. I also saw the eagles near their nest! One in the tree and the other in the nest!!!! These are bald eagles and the nest is enormous! Then I watched a big varigated thrush take the longest bath in our bird bath - in the rain...??? What's with that? A shower on a tree limb isn't as good as a plunge and splash?? Thrushes are so beautiful.

Blondie you look great! Purple is a good color! Be well ya'll. hugs..

    thanks Sassy

Blondes, you look any better you'll have to push off the dirty old men there! Haha

Rosie, sorry for all the treatments, docs that don't listen. Maybe these guys don't get bedside manners in training so they don't know what to do with the person attached to the disease? Now a days, docs should know better.

Hey everybody, haven't heard from HI1 yet, she had her shoulder surgery today. I forgot to ask her what time. Drat! She should be home or heading there now. Keep you posted if she doesn't pop in

  • Good evening sas-schatzi, I live on the West side of Cleveland by Avon Lake to the East and Lorain/Elyria to the West. It's a small town named Sheffield Lake, and I live on Lake Erie. I have a fantastic view of Cedar Point and Canada. I love the water and walking the beach. Not the beautiful white sand that you have in Florida, but for Ohio it's the closest thing to a beach. I collect beach glass and pottery shards, and I have a large collection of amazing things from all of the shipwrecks on Lake Erie. The Lake is very shallow for it's size and the waves turn deadly in minutes. We also have rip tides depending on the wind conditions. But it is frozen, and silent this time of year. The beach is my happy place to walk, collect, and relax. It keeps me on track, and I find it a very calm place to live.

    Hi gals---

Rose I started LOLing when u talked about the Drs. only interested in cancer questions--It's so true, I think I try to get in some more info and I it's not about cancer there is no answer, When I go to my heart Dr. if it's not about his thing he just says I don't know. And I'm not asking hard questions--so I decided not to ask anything now, I respect their unknowledge.

Sas  sound pretty good, but chit that wind turned u yard into a glass minagerie
--what a mess. Oh I'm so glad u have a cleaner that is the best.

Quiet day today, thank goodness oh I'm was glad u told us about Phyliss---I'm glad he is still in the trial--but how long does this last--she's been gone for so long.

BTW I can tell u now cuz Chevy's "asleep" yea don't fall for it--since she's older now her work hrs. are earlier, she just tells everyone she sleeps early.

Well I hope everyone has a good nite's rest or we'll see each other here.

Rose- sorry to hear you have had a tough day.

I have had to spend a lot of time making my docs understand my life, the resources I have available (or not), etc. My PCP gets my big picture, but the specialists don't because they just don't know me that well or see me enough.

I hope tomorrow is a better day.
