It's so cute when they're tiny and hiss at you. They aren't kidding, of course, so need work to be friendlier. Our shelter had 1 kitten on Petfinder (website for adoptable shelter pets). He got 10 calls and was only up 1 day. I think the first family adopted him.
We had our first Mom & kittens come in last weekend. She had 8 2-day olds, so I think some supplemental bottle feeding will be necessary. We try to get kittens into foster homes as soon as we can. Being a public shelter means we take sick cats along with well ones, so getting the little ones out is important.

Thanks! She is the sweetest mama kitty. She's so gentle with her kittens.

Just "liked" your kitten vid Kiwi. I remember one of mine (now deceased) called Marley, squaring up to two dogs when he was tiny. Fur on end, back arched, tail fluffed out. He was semi long-haired so that increased the dramatic effect. Luckiy the two dogs totally bought it and fled.
Wren great news about your Petfinder success.

Just witnessed a solar eclipse this morning. Perfectly timed for directly after draopping DD to school, though even on the way to school we viewed the start of it through tinted glass on windscreen. The broken cloud actually made viewing conditions perfect with the naked eye, it would have been too bright in a clear sky, tho' I had my "eclipse glasses" ready in case. I viewed it from a cliff looking out over a ruined 16th century castle and the Irish sea, very picturesque. There were about 20 people gathered at that spot. These are not my photos as I haven't got the distance lens that would be required I got them from national news site, they are exactly what I saw.

It was dramatic how cold it got when the sun was covered!

Great Eclipse pictures, feelingfeline. I remember looking at solar eclipses through a stack of film negatives. Luckily you don't have to do that with the solar eclipses.
