PattyPepper, at your house? woo girl, I know you are married to Super DH, but that's a lot of energy. I would be doing the same thing, we know we overdo, as life moves fast. Boys don't care about all the frills. Food out of a box, or frozen pizza works. Boys don't care about dust, clutter, laundry. Have fun, retreat to your bedroom & listen.
Chevy, you are such a loving mom & grandma. Obviously it's complicated, and not all about Adderall.
MombieZombie, gorgeous property. I have a Japenese elm also, or is it a maple ? small & cute. Happy it survives our winter. Your kids art is inspiring. Love the drawing of the bearded man.
Susan & MammaRay.......hope you are ok......I worry about you. Positive wishes to you both.
Happy Thursday......to all. Blondie, nice to see YA last night.

Patty yay for the sleepover Birthday party. Do not clean. They are boys and will remember nothing of a spotless home. Save your strength and heal. Sit and watch them devour the pizza and snacks and cake! I hope the kids have a grand time and you can sit back and remember them goofin and enjoying each other! Enjoy the weekend.
Mombie- Those are some gorgeous sketches she is very talented. I LOVE your garden and the Japanese maple. GArdens are magic in their healing powers, underestimated in my opinion. Even when I was a poor student awash in student debt, I would bring home a bunch of cut flowers or a little potted plant for my apartment in the city. Fresh flowers are good for the soul!
Chevy- no matter he's 29.. he's your Grandson always. I hope he gets the help he needs and begins to heal. Hugs your way too.
Hugs across the board to all I didn't mention.

I just love you guys................. He sent me a text, saying he was at breakfast with his Mom and Chase, and that he was doing good! I just want it to stay like that. I know Sheri will follow through.... All of youir suggestions/comments really helped ME.... I sent them to her.

good news Chevy.

Sassy, Medical question here. DH has some blockage in his leg due to bypass surgery years ago that removed leg veins. The doc ordered a CT angiogram to see if it's small and fixable or major which would make surgery an option only to save his leg (doc doesn't think he'll ever need that). The order is for a CT of his abdominal aorta. Would that include his thigh? That's where the doc thinks the blockage could be. I'm concerned that perhaps the test was a number off or something because that wasn't what he talked about doing. I'm trying to get DH to follow up with this question, but he's a guy.

Chevy, hope things stay good for you and yours.
MZ,Great pic of your talented kids. Love the dragon. Please show something in color.
Patty, don't overdo!! Stay down girl!

I'm stuck at jury duty, was hoping not to have to go in. Oh well. I won't be on a trail because of my brother but have to go through the process.
Ok, I have 3 kids between 45-39. 8 Gkids from 27-9, 2 greatgkids, 8 months - 5. I will get a new pic of Bradley, DD took him in for pics. Still waiting to hear when DS is going to Australia. No 2 DS and family are heading to AL in April to see her sick Dad and probably handle estate things. Don't know how much house or dog sitting I'll be doing.
I'll post a pic of some of DS iron works, really neat stuff.

Wren you are right.. Aorta stops at the level of the navel. Then the iliacs, then the femorals(thigh). The exam will be for naught if they don't get the femorals.

Smarrty, does DS make small pieces? I have a thing I need made. Fun all those kids. Sweet.MommieZ we love pics and funnies. We're easy very easy. Anything you heart desires to post. Love your yard, and the kid pics
Patty, more kid fun,

Chevy hugs we are here for you

Here's a couple of his coffee tables. He does some small stuff, most is all custom work. He'll keepthe furniture stuff going in SF and do more art pieces in syndey.

These have glass tops when done.

Wow Smaarty, those are cool. Did you watch the Ellen "Design Challenge" ? It was a furniture design contest, very similar stuff to what your DS makes. We loved the show, like 5 episodes. Google it. So why is he moving to Sydney. I know you told us once, you know me, chemo brain
0 -
yes I watched the show. He'd never have time for that. His other half is from there and she couldn't get a work visa here, so he's going there.

Wow Smarty- Art. Please, post more of you can. Gorgeous pieces. I need someone that does iron stuff like from Williamsburg. it's to hang the Christmas tree dress from the ceiling. I've never worked at finding someone.Wren, sorry fell flat on the answer. The imaging ought to be of abdominal aorta, illiacs and femoral right down to the foot. If there is blockage in one area, it is reasonable to do dx imaging of the continuous route as a baseline. This rules out blockage in the continuous length. At the same time all the vessels that run off the mainline are evaluated for flow too. Baseline is of the entire limb. As you know the baseline is used from then on to evaluate for changes. Possibly the doc has a plan? Arteriograms for arteries were the diagnostic tool of choice. venograms for veins. Done with real time fluoroscopy. Not sure if CT can be used on lower leg. Things change, maybe I'm behind. Think in terms of how extensively ultrasound is used now compared to 15 years ago.

Hi all.
Chevy--You sound like you are feeling better about things even if the worry isn't quite over yet. I continue to pray for your family and hope that this situation resolves soon.
Patty--Sounds like you will have a lot on your plate soon. I hope you won't over do. Take care dear.
Rosevalley--I agree with you about the healing that nature can bring. I truly miss my old yard and I'm looking forward to hubby and I making a new paradise. I feel really fortunate to live where this is so much potential for beauty.
I spent part of my evening helping my third kiddo with an English assignment. He's in an honor's class and they just finished reading The Odyssey. He has to invent a game that captures the essence of the story. My daughter painted a tiny "ship of Odysseus" onto a glass token for the game. I have been helping to stain the wood on the box and the wooden tiles and tokens of the game. Daughter will use her wood burner to burn symbols onto the wood pieces. There's even a gorgeous set of rules complete with photos and diagrams.
I think my name might have to change to Crispy Critter soon.(LOL) Two thirds done with radiation and I'm feeling it.
What's everyone up to tonight? My hubby (are you guys abbreviating hubby with DH? Still learning the lingo) is out of town. When he's gone I sleep even less than normal. Going to be up doing stuff to kill the time tonight. Can't decide if I want to read, work on poems and music-writing, or watch a movie. What I should really do is clean house, but I'm just too tired.

I blinked and more posts appeared! I get afraid I'll miss something. LOL
Smaarty--those are beautiful pieces in those photos. Here is one of my daughter's works, with color. Thanks for sharing about your family. Four generations--that's just wonderful.

MZ, You're right about DH standing for dear husband. There's a key to abbreviations in the info for newcomers forum. I don't sleep as well with my DH out of town either. Tonight he's here and I'm bushed, so going to sneak up to bed soon. Planning a new yard will be fun. We moved here when the edible landscaping book was newly published and used it to help us decide. That's how we ended up with 2 apple trees, a pear apple, 2 quince, a medlar and a pie cherry tree. We had another pear but it bit the dust. I hope we don't need it to fertilize the pear apple. Our son lives in Oregon and has done even more to his yard. They have all sorts of vegetables in their yard and the grandsons love to pick veggies for dinner. The 2nd grader's favorite is chard and the 5th grader loves parsley.
That English class sounds like a lot of fun. Sorry about becoming a crispy critter. Use lots and lots of creme (whatever the doc prescribed). I didn't have rads so that advice is from reading here. There is probably a radiation thread with more info.

Daughter has an app on her Kindle that lets her draw things with her finger. Here is one of her latest. It's a cartoon version of herself.

Wren--Thanks for telling me about the key of abbreviations. I will have to study up. I'm not very old, but I'm a dinosaur when it comes to cyber stuff. I still have a plain flip phone that does only basic things. LOL Sorry to hear you were tired today. Are you feeling alright? Just normal tired? Love your list of fruit trees. I have never tried quince--what are they like? Not sure if I have ever seen one. I can't remember, are you on my side of the Cascades? If so, then you may want to do some extras for your pear apple tree. I can ask my DH if you would like. Hmmm..what's medlar? That's cute that your grandsons love veggies. I have three kids that love veggies and one that doesn't. And here's the really funny part--my DH, who is a botanist, loves to GROW the garden, but he doesn't love to EAT the garden!!

Morning gals! Nothing much going on here..... Haven't heard anything more since DD blew a gasket yesterday. I should KNOW better than to think I could help. My job is to sit and listen and never offer an opinion or become concerned.
This happens more than I can remember. Or don't WANT to remember. I've said before, that DD and her Son are so much alike, and have the same know-it-all tendencies... and that they like to VENT, but don't want any other opinions.
I'm just thankful we are here, and they are there.... and I'm trying to smile.... Ha!
Yes HiHo...... I know what you are thinking.... Ha!
It is a fact, that no matter how even tempered you are, how you always try and keep the peace, and how you will avoid confrontation, and "never fight in front of the kids".... that it will all come back as a big FLAW..... !
It amazes me that your own KIDS can be the totally opposite of you....sometimes. And they resent that fact.... in you.
But it's WORSE when two hot-heads get into it.... to put it mildly.... as in the case in Florida.... So I'm stepping back, and letting them all just handle whatever..... I'll just pretend that "it's all good." And what I don't know can't hurt me..... And from now on, I will just "listen" and not say anything.
Except with YOU guys.... I'm just glad to be a part of THIS thread, where we can all vent, and talk, and have fun.... and I don't have to hang up when things get "hot".... Or people get mad when you don't fight back.
OTHER than that, we are going out today! It isn't going to rain, so my car won't get wet... Hah! We just washed it, and I didn't want it to get dirty again. THEN we'll come home and I can fool around in some of my other garden spots....
I just saw on the NEWS that starting today, Law Enforcement is coming down hard on distracted driving! On the highways, we have signs that say
GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR AAPS!!! I think EVERY one is distracted when they get in their cars... Never mind DRIVING.... when they get to a stop light and get so involved in their phones that they forget to ever MOVE! I need to get one of those 18 wheeler truck horns installed on my CRUZ! That will scare them so bad, they will probably faint! Hah!

oh Chevy. Sorry your toes for stepped on. The hurt or rejected feelin sucks. Esp since you are the mom. My 2dss bring so young I haven't got to that age with them yet. They still think I rule the world. Although ds1 barely being 13 sure is moody he hadn't yet been brave enough to say what he is thinking about dh or me when he gets mad. So I am enjoying every day I can Til they get old enough to know it all. When exactly is that ? Seemed to me I was about 15-16.
Love to. See what everybody is doing. Can't remember and to lazy for notes today to respond to all.
Love the colored art work from dd , crusty.
Love all the wonderful knowledge SAS
Maddy. - you ok ? Haven't heard much from you.
Susan - have I missed your posts ? Hope you are on vacation somewhere tropical.
Hi1 - be easy in the shoulder. Let it heal 100%. I know how we women feel a but better and are thinking we are superwoman or sonething.
Kids got all the housecleaning done last night that's getting done for ds1 big sleepover. His bday was in the 2nd so kinda late. But finally. I am up ! Al I gotta do is bake and decorate the cake and wrap the presents. Dh took care of everything else. Oh yeah ds2 got dh and me up 15 min early this am and we decorated the house with streamers and balloons. Felt great to do donethinh fun , happy. Then I am going to rest and pamper myself all day. So I can hang past last nights bed time of 6 pm and the record of the month bed time for me was 8 pm. Hoping to either make it to 10 pm or catch a nap around 7-8 then get back up to hang. Not that he will notice me much with his buddies over. Good thing I can sleep thry nearly anything. Thank god for my great dh taking responsibility. Sure love him a lot !
Love and hugs to all

Chevy, it'll will work out. They are just worried and scared right now. The good thing is they are drawing in close to each other. Circling the wagons. Good sign right now. Being supportive of one another.
Blondie did you hear that thing in the news about oxygen and cancer? O2 being a good thing, may actually become a treatment. Your hassle of 24/7 O2 may be a good thing. Are you getting your pain meds? Hmm we should have BC pain police. A phone barrage and letter writing thingy that barrages docs not doing or hassling BC patients. Other cancers get pain meds without hassles. My Dh was prescribed large amounts with lymphoma, same doc said my AI wasn't BC related and refused meds.
Susan MamaRay hasn't posted in awhile since the trouble with Jacob started. Glad your Dh mending and you can do

Patty Hootie Hoo
2nd it worked THANKS, no more email messages. YAY. They were a hassle clearing out.

Hi ladies- wishing you a happy spring for those on the northern and and beginning to fall on the southern end!
MombieZombie- the rads are tough, I had internal rads which takes away the "burn factor" but still exhausting. I hope you can keep your energy up. I found I had a lot of fatigue going through that particular treatment (note I did not have chemo....) I love the geisha sketch too, that is beautiful.
I have been wondering too about MammaRay and her little boy. I have been watching to see any news from her. Keeping her and her family in my prayers that there is nothing serious going on with her son.
Wishing you all a good weekend. I am going out of town for a bit (little break to sunny CA for a few days next week), so if I am not here for a bit, don't worry about me as I know some of you do! Just know I am out in my flip flops somewhere in southern California.

Happy thrifting Sassy and Chevy.. hard dance with personal space and parenting. You will always be Grandma and a wealth of love and inspiration.
Mammaray- how's your little guy? He any better? Pop in and give us an update. Hugs to Wren, Holinone, Mags, Susan, Jazzy, Woo and everyone I missed. I had a lovely lunch yesterday with college DD and we had a yummy vegan lunch at Native Foods. Which if you have one of those restaurants try it. I am still puzzled as to how they made fake cornbeef ruben sandwiches out of wheat protein... sooo yummy. Then their insane chocolate cupcakes.. DD didn't even talk as she devoured hers, then washed it down with lavender lemonade. Went shopping bought a few things for her. Lovely day, nice to see her.
