  • PattyPeppermint, I hope that your head is feeling better after being bounced off the floor! And I hope the new minds will have some better ideas to get you well and back home with your family. A little porch time in the sunshine in your rocker will make you good as new! Take Care

WOW Mombie Z, that prayer is beautiful. Please, put it on the W&F's page if you don't mind. Talented. We have so many here with talent. Even Chevy with her stiletto's and poles :)

    Smarrty gorgeous quilt.

Jazzy, great that you got away for a visit. Sun and Fun AND music and dancing. Perfect.

Rosie, I love your stories. Congrats on the anniversary :)  I did almost the same thing on the wedding. We gave the parents 10 days notice. But my Mom & Dad had a restaurant. It was suppose to be small about 50 people.  Ended up around 160. DH's side was a total of 15. About 30 or so friends. The rest were my family. Mom made phone calls. My dress was 12.99 cotton muslin with lace Victorian. I was already into antiquing in  1972. Still the cost was just over 1000$. ....... Dh and I met in Sept, started living together in October, and got married in June. Everyone thought we were pregnant. The style of tops that were in fashion then was the 'angel top'. Didn't wear any for four months. First time I wore one, my MIL said "You are pregnant". We were married for 38 years when he passed. But didn't get preggers for twelve years. Took lot's of ribbing on that.

See Patty, more than one person thinks a helmets a good idea.

    Spookie all the tests done?

DS called about Easter. They will be at GF's Sunday.  He says that Gf and Mom are going to do some Mom and daughter thing on Sat.  Me, he wants to go to a microbrewery that's new locally. DS thinks DBF and I are split up. I think I will just leave him in the dark. Easier.

    . Waving at everyone I missed \ / \ / \ / \ /

Happy April fools. I have a biz lunch today and hope my colleague does not play any tricks on me!

Teka- love it! Hope you are doing well and seeing more signs of spring in North Country.

Patty- I hope the tests will help you to know more about what is going on. Just sorry to hear you are back in the hospital.

Mombie- yup, I was up last night! I attribute it to some high dose chocolate I ate too close to bedtime that made it hard to fall asleep and worse to stay asleep. My bad!

Chevy- another beach photo. This is at Newport Beach.

Scrolling for something else. Found these. Thrifted 8 of them b/c I thought they were over the top quirky. Thrift $ either .25 or .50 cents. Seller has thm listed for 24.99. Never would I pay that much, but fun someone thinks they are worth that.

  • Thanks for the postcards, Jazzy. I love that area but haven't spent any real time there in a decade. George Benson's concert must have been a treat, too.

Chevy, et al - thanks for the April Fool's humor.

Hopeful- my sister has lived out there for 21 plus years now, but is going to be moving/retiring to Palm Springs so I expect my visits to that location will be ending soon. Then I will be going to Palm Springs instead!

Mombie- loved your poem and the little hearts quilt. I wish I knew how to quilt, lovely and practical too.

Chevy you just bust me up. I guess by the time I made it through the late 70s prohibitions had eased up considerably. Since I was out on my own working I kind of felt .. my life, my choices. I wanted my parents to like who ever I picked but if they didn't, I wasn't going to fall apart! I think that's why going to school and having a job makes you think clearly and gives you more independence. My Grandma really liked my DH, said he was a nice guy, smart and funny- good pick she told me.

Sassy- well you are lucky having a restaurant in the family! I am sure with the family and all it was a very good time. I love old fashioned vintage dresses! You should share a picture.

Patty they need to make a bumper beanie for you! They also need to call in the troops and figure out WTH is going on to cause so many repeat admissions, falls, episodes of dehydration, diarrhea and elevated counts. I hope they are doing blood cultures and sending them all off. If you were on medicare they would call in a review and refuse to pay for repeat admissions with the same issue, especially so close together. I don't know if that counts for oncology issues. You are more upbeat then anyone on the BCO considering!

Hugs to foots! Hope you and your pup are well. Hugs to everyone else out there too. May we all be pain free and have gratitude for the good things in our lives!

Sassy, I could see the little butter dishes with a beautiful seashell in each one. Great way to display them.

  • Sassy, that's a lovely little bud vase. Even I am tempted - and that is saying a LOT.

  • Jazzy, did you approve your sister's retirement move? Palm Springs is nice (except in the summer) but doesn't have as much airlift and doesn't have the ocean :( Still there's some interesting architecture and a definite vibe to the place and it sure beats having to visit them in Omaha or wherever!

Okay I'm going to try pics, The infamous chair that I had reupholstered last year, the redo on the bathroom, My wedding dressing which is in the bow window in the living room on a mannequin, The nymph wall art on the back porch, and the trellis valence around the pool,. Patio DBF made. it grew from 8 stones, to 24more, to 30 more then 60 more for a total of 120. He was patient, just kept digging. It'll be in multiple posts :)

  • That's a lovely dress, Sassy, and I really like the idea of having it on the mannequin so you can enjoy it (love the photo, too - very sweet).

Thanks for sharing your pool, too. I wish I were in a pool someplace warm today... Not that it's bad here, just a bit nippy but there's nothing like warm, blue water and matching weather.

Thanks Hopeful, It is gorgeous today, Windows and doors open. Perfect. It's April, my fav month. You missed the > year long saga of the bathroom and the chair. Took forever to get both done. Chair cost 3x's what I paid for it. Bathroom one snafu after another. Finally, let DBF do the tile and counter and counter top install. Home Depot did the shower and enclosure. The light fixture is good in the pic, but doesn't show the lamps in the right color. They are a cool shade (blue tone versus yellow) of  a soft pink. Nice accent to white. The pic had the rod curved when I ordered it. Came out of the box straight. DBF had to bend it. We were still friends after that. He couldn't understand why I was picky about the bend. The tile that looks rippled is dimensional tile--like bead board. The pic on that wall was thrifted for 15$. The pic of Paris on the other wall is not thrifted. In a moment of weakness, I paid wayyyyyyyy too much. The little table was the first piece of furniture my Mom bought in 1937. 2.50 at Woolworth's. Hmm odd thing to buy first, never asked her why. Also, odd I would remember price. That was the depression. Lot of money for such a little piece. Everyhing else in the room is thrifted.

The Christmas tree dress behind the chair. That covers up the X-mas tree. Stays up all year. I designed it and BFF made it. Not hanging perfectly, but pretty good.
