Rosevalley - your fur family is awesome and the azaleas are just beautiful!! Funny, I was typing while you were adding pictures and I was just thinking I need to figure out the whole posting pictures thing. We were in Wilmington, NC over the weekend and it was the Azalea Festival this weekend. We didn't actually go to it since we were there for another reason, but we sure did enjoy seeing them in people's yards. I just love them!
Blondie - hiya! Glad the weather was nice and you got out for a little while. It was a little rainy today but then cleared up. We're supposed to have rain all week, unfortunately!

This was my dog, Bandit, when I was young. Her mom was Heidi. One day the neighbor dog, Cyrus, came over and was "hugging Heidi" as my brother described it and, some time later, we had a house full of puppies. Bandit was the one we kept. She is on my bed that is covered with those cats in red sneakers. I can't remember the actual name of them, but they were popular back when I was a teen.

And here is one of our current dogs, Spencer the 12 yr old Beagle.

Sorry Mel......... There COULD have been a million dollars in there that you were saving!

I still have a box of "stuff" of our older Daughters'... It has her diaries, some pictures, and silver plates from winning tennis tournaments, and she took what she wanted, but wants me to keep her "special" things here. Makes sense.... that she wouldn't want anyone else to read her diaries from high school....
I made both Daughter's big cloth covered scrapbooks with their pictures, from being babies, and growing up.... Their first school drawings, and their notes to us.... plus their letters to my Mom & Dad, that Mom saved and sent back.....
I still have some of my Grandma's and my folks "stuff".... Keep them all in a special big plastic storage bin.. I have one of Mom's old dresses, and their Drivers Licenses, etc..... and I made a scrapbook after they both passed away.... Memories are what builds us.... gives us character.... that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.... Ha!

Yeah, I was a millionaire once. Then my mom threw out my complete collection of Elvis cards.

hi philly, hope all,is well. Good to here from you.
Great pics rose
Here is my new light in our almost finished bedroom

Spookie- BUMMER an entire collection of Elvis cards?? Yep you would have been set for life. Same with really old baseball cards, worth a lot.
Mel-Spenser is adorable! The things we do for our fur kids. Our oldest dog 17 year old "Flower" named by my daughter when she was 3 years old, continues to amaze us. She is almost 18 and still keeps on ticking. She's so ugly she's cute, such a sweet little old lady. The groomer clips her nails and won't take $ because she can't believe she's still alive! I also painted a sign for her shop, that might be why too.
Susan- We tore up our house in 2008 and remodeling is the pits! So much chaos and work. I hope the bedroom turns out wonderful. Pretty light fixture. I hope Phyllis feels better and can post. Sassy- you seem to have several shrines up in your home, pretty antiques and touches.

Mel, Moffitt fixed med, ordered generic. My Ds was 4 hours away for college too. No fun. We visited only a few times in 7 years. Hopefully your DD will end up closer to home after graduation. DS is 2hrs away. It's better. Mel what drug for DD?(if it's not to personal). On the memories thing---I can turn jus about anything into an artifact. Too bad about the papers, it could have been a trip down memory lane and then you pitch them. Hugs Bandit's a big dog. What's was his mix? Spencer's sweet old guy.
Patty, doing okay? That was sweet of your neighbors

Blondie any luck yet with resources? How you feeling?
Rosie love your furbabies. Great pics. Not too large at al. Cabin is great. I'm with Blondie--Any inside pics? Does it look unto water? Flowers are wonderful. "I'm the keeper of the stuff". Stuff all over. Poor DS, I keep telling him to just don't say he doesn't want it now. Do what he wants after I'm gone. I've even suggested he keep the house as a cottage. He and DGF have family & friends here galore. Just far enough from Tampa that they would be away from the hustle bustle. Pool , big yard for their dogs.Turn key to relaxation. Maybe.
Yup Chevy, making memories. Chevy can you bring that link for Susan about the wiring?
Spookie, I threw out my sisters comic book collection.
Susan, Sparkly Yay almost finished. You should look at the link of Chevy's on W&F's. This guy wired his bathroom wrong. I almost peed myself b/c his wife was laughing so hard.
Out to help DBF Hugs and Waving

Chevy - yup...I could have been rich, for sure!! That is so great that you have made scrapbooks! I'm one of those people who really, really has high ambitions of scrapbooking, but it just never really happens. I take too long trying to figure out what color paper to use and which stickers to use, etc. I tried to do a little digital scrapbooking figuring maybe that would be better because I wouldn't have to print the pictures first, but I still just haven't done much. Maybe one day....
Spookie - I must say, I do love Elvis! Anyone watch those really silly old Elvis movies where nobody could act? I actually did watch them when I was young. Haven't seen one of them in years and I wonder what I would think of them now
Susan - Wow - that is a beautiful light fixture!!!
Rosevalley - That's amazing that you have an almost 18 year old dog!! And very cool that she gets free nail care. We keep threatening to put nail pawlish on the dogs...DH isn't too crazy about that idea, but now that we have our little "princess" Dixie, she does have quite a bit of pink stuff and her dog tag has some bling on it.
Patty - Adam Sandler has some very funny movies - we haven't seen Blended yet, but will have to put it on our list of movies to watch! Can't remember if I mentioned that my DD and I saw Cinderella and it was great! Might be hard to get your DS's to watch it, though! Maybe too girly for them! And, congrats on the successful start to the morning!!
I started this post about, well...maybe 2 hours ago and the last post at the time was Chevy's link...will be curious to see how many more posts are here once I hit submit!

Only one additional post...things are quiet at the moment!
Sas - Yes, I really hope DD1 ends up closer than 4 hrs away and that DD2 goes to college closer than DD1! We didn't really visit that much either...more the first year when she didn't have her car there. Then 2nd year, we would meet her half way a lot so she wouldn't have to drive that far alone since it was the first long distance driving she had done. Now she drives herself home, so other than mono last year and her car being out of commission after an accident, I didn't have to go get her. The prescription for DD2 was for generic of diflucan. She had cracks in the corners of her mouth that would not heal. We thought it was just from chapped lips over the winter and it would seem like it was healing up, then it would come back. Dr said it was caused by yeast and prescribed generic diflucan at 100mg for 7 days and some anti-fungal cream. It is much better, but she is now going on week 5 with still having to use the cream on the skin below the corners of her mouth so I contacted the drs to find out how long it is 'ok' to use it and the regular drs office said she may need to see an ENT and he wanted her to try 150mg for 7 days and that is the one the insurance company said they will only approve 2 pills every 30 days. She is taking a multivitamin now and we switched her toothpaste and are hoping that she will be able to get this healed up soon. I wish drs tried more to get to the root cause of the symptom rather than just treating the symptom because I am a little worried that she was not able to clear this up.

Susan, love the light. You'll have to show us a pic when the room is done.
I just got to speak with DS1 in syndey. Yeah. Love FaceTime. I've talked to him more when he's 6,000 miles away then when he's was 85 miles! He's looking better, not so worn out. Starting to look for a new shop. They got the table runner I sent them.
Patty, you are sounding good. You're doing better this time around?
Sassy, like your bay windows.
Not doing too much. Been having some stomach pains, waiting to see what the doc has figured out. Poop! Better be nothing.
See ya guys tomorrow .

Mommy- is there a web site we can look at? How do we order and ensure you get the credit?

Good question jazzy
Yep have an asseaffordshotn friday so ee wiil sed what kind of servives i csn get
Also the wonderful nurses at chemo made arrangements 4 a grant to pay some of my billand then they also gave me a gift card worth alot of money, so grateful 4 people.
Unfortunately i had to give my dog to my daughter. She was kichaels the one that doesn't want to contribute to anything even 4 food 4 the dog, so i can't afford her n my dd loves her n i will still see her, i had no choice. Also i have a rabbit to give away also. Sad but son is an idiot n i can't afford much
Lucky, makes me so sad but i couldnt afford shots or snything else n as i said ds2 refused, said it wasnt his problem..

blondie , how sad indeed. those are things i havent even considered of course the pets will stay with dh and dss but i have often thought and creid about the fact that i; will never own another puppy. too much work training them and walking them and bathing them and shots and food and etc. kinda crazy thing to cry about but must have been having one of those days0 -
Blondie, you have the kids from hell I swear. At least your daughter will take the dog and feed and care for her. I am very glad the nurses helped you out with $ for bills and that there are kind souls to stand up for you. I do hope you have laid out your hurdles and difficulties to social services so they can get you what you need. I send up prayers for your well being every night. Sounds like a few are answered.
There are lab rescue organizations who do some fantastic matching dogs with families and would bend over backwards to find a home for dog whose owner had cancer and was in hospice, so don't place the dog with your daughter if you think she won't love and care for it properly. The new family might even let you visit with the dog. Beautiful lab. Sorry about the rabbit too. We dearly loved our rabbits. Did you find a place for the cat? Geez Blondie.. (((((HUGS and more HUGS)))))
Patty- pets are lots of work. I feel just terrible when I am too sore to walk our dogs. They are used to regular walkies and pine away if there aren't any or the weather is too cold and rainy. Luckily we have a large back yard and throwing frizbees and balls can exercise the pooches. It does wear me out to wash everyone.. lots of energy, scouring tubs, towels, laundry mopped floors etc.. Remember that as your sons get older they can get a puppy and take 4H dog training classes and train it themselves! Get the pup when it's summer and they can do the crate training and such for 3 months while they are off from school.
Howdies to all I didn't mention. nite.

Love and aloha,
Shells

Just reading before turning out the light. this little Ruru is sleepy and all the chatter going on is keeping her awake.

Blondie- I am sorry about having to give your pets up. Do you still have the calico kitten or did she go live somewhere else when you were in rehab?
How wonderful those women are helping you with a grant and a gift card. There are good people in the world, and have found sometimes we least expect do the most for us. Never totally understood that, but find it to be true over and over again. Life has a way of trying to make up for our family sometimes.
Mommy- I got your PM and will check out the site today and see what I can do!
Shellshine- congrats on your son graduating from college!

Okay, this is the "wiring" one, but Sass, now I forget who it was for? But I laugh every time I see this...! You HAVE to have the sound on, to hear his wife... she is just cracking up!
And where do you guys live? Out in the Toolies? I mean you are so FAR from your Doctors'! I would get one closer... You could be sick, and make an appointment, and by the time you DRIVE there, you would probably be WELL again!
Love that little Owl Aly! How have you been?
And SHELLS! So good to hear from you....! Congratulations on that Son of yours! And how is old whats-his-name-husband? I just hope things are going great!
ROSIE!!!!!! Oh don't be afraid to hold back!
Ha, ha! Yes Blondie.... ain't gettin no co-operation at all, unless it's from strangers! I wanted to go out there and sit them all down and tell them what they SHOULD be doing, but then I thought, if I could do THAT, then I could straighten out my OWN kids and their problems, so I didn't do nothin'. Sometimes ya just gotta ignore all that you don't like, or want to listen to and put your hands over your ears, and sing 'la-la, la-..... LAH!"

Kids and family will drive you nuts! (If you listen to them) So just don't EVEN get into conversations that will turn into shouting matches..... I forget what I was talking about....

Shells, yay he's graduating. Now he can pay for dinner out tee-hee. Odd I was trying to find someone in my friends list and saw you and ponder for a few seconds. Then here you are today. Telepathy? Hope you are getting some rest. All the newbie stuff of Hospice is in the past. Always nice to not be the newbie anymore.Mel three suggestions. First: they should culture the site. Second:This one is an outgrowth of several years of DS's science research projects. Use each toothbrush only once, then put it in the dishwasher. This means you will have 6-8 toothbrushes in a container. The number depends on how many times a week you run your dishwasher. The project proved that you can reduce contamination on the toothbrush to zero. Plus, it will reduce the bacteria & fungus in the mouth. I wrote all the particulars someplace, if I find it, I will bring it here. May sound yucky, but it doesn't matter who uses the washed toothbrushes b/c the are like new---No contamination. Think in terms of silverware. Once washed any piece is used by anyone else. Does that take the yuckiness away

Third:, I had a thrush(yeast )infection after Keflex. Dr.s PCP & ENT worked for about 4 (?) months to get rid of it. High dose and protracted use of Diflucan and Magic mouthwash. ENT finally gave up and said take some probiotics. LOL, I've been a believer and a sporadic user for decades, but didn't try it for this scenario. I took a heaping tablespoon 2-3 times a day. Cleared it right up...............Keflex has been my nemesis for years, but this was the first time it caused thrush. Keflex will never pass my lips again.
The probiotics should come from a very reputable Health food/nutrition store. (not GNC). It will be expensive, but worth it. Also, reduce refined sugar in the diet. Yeast thrives on sugar.
Yay Blondie
